Fixed a non-functioning MacBook Air in less than 3 hours for a very fair price. Wife spilled wine all over the MacBook keyboard and we quickly tried to clean it off and put it upside down. MacBook continued to function for a few hours, but eventually the screen, keyboard and trackpad failed to work. We still occasionally saw the apple logo on restart and heard the 'bong' when it started up. Plugged it into an external monitor and the remaining internals seemed OK. Brought it to Serviceware at 9am on a weekday, let them know the issues, and they gave me a couple scenarios and estimates. Nothing too surprising. They called me only a couple hours later to let me know they ran full diagnostics, repaired it, and it was ready to go. A little remaining liquid that they cleaned out and replaced the screen angle sensor. Overall, these guys diagnosed the problem, charged me a very reasonable rate for labor and parts, and fixed the problem in record time. Had I taken this problem directly to Apple, I'm fairly certain they would have said it was totaled and wanted me to purchase a new one instead. Very happy these guys are in business. I visited Serviceware this morning to have what I believed a "cracked" camera lens repaired after accidentally dropping my iPhone and noticing cracks on the back camera lens. After inspection, the gentleman (I forgot to ask his name) found that the cracks were only on the plastic protective cover, and my iPhone lens itself wasn't damaged. To make sure internal components of the phone were affected by the drop, he ran a diagnostic test to ensure everything was working properly. When I offered to pay for his time, he kindly declined. Wow- this is the place for any computer/tech services. I had an appt to have my "vintage" MacBook Pro evaluated for diagnostics, but as I arrived Justin told me right off the bat 'there's nothing we can do'. I was taken aback at first, but as he took the time to explain, trying to run a diagnostics just wouldn't work on my laptop. It's 12+ years old and even Apple called it vintage. Justin was very straightforward and informative- I was so appreciative of that, he could have just taken my money and tried to run a diagnostic check, but he didn't. Found a random small crack in my display. Came here to get it fixed and was not disappointed! They looked at my laptop, were very transparent with timing and process, and kept me updated on how things were tracking (the part they needed took a few additional days to arrive). In terms of pick up, they were very flexible and held onto my laptop for a few extra days after the work was complete as it was hard for me to sneak away during their business hours. I came in right at opening after setting up an appointment the night previous. My iPhone's screen had begun to "pop out" for a lack of better terms and after doing some brief research online I summed it up to a bad battery. The woman working the front desk was very polite and got me checked in rather quickly before passing off the repair to her colleague. The man helping me was welcoming right off the bat and explained what exactly the issue was and steps they needed to take for the repair to commence. So my MacBook Pro's screen just went out on me, how it happened was a long story that I wish to not relive (my kids pulled the chord and it dropped.) Anyway, I needed a new screen and not only are they Apple Authorized, they were friendly, able to get me a quote and an appointment amid the pandemic and chaos of busyness of people I guess dropping and breaking their MacBook too and my computer was ready within about a week of dropping off. Simple transaction and I was very pleased to have my life line back. Definitely worth the drive to Pleasanton for me. read more

I thought I had already posted a review of this place, but when I went to find them again today I realized I hadn't. In summary: they are fantastic. First of all, both the receptionist and the two technicians I met treated me like a human being. I loved the way they spoke to me, the advice they gave, and how quickly they handled my repair. I also loved the location (slightly out of the way, but easily accessed right from the lot--maybe ten feet away from where you park). There were no crowds. They contract through Apple but they feel more like a Mom-and-Pop (or Brother-and-Sister?) operation. They are superior to the mall in every way. Serviceware for the win! read more

Absolutely amazing! I had a power issue with my MacBook that Apple Customer Care through chat were not able to diagnose. They referred me to 3 or 4 different service locations. I am really glad I selected Serviceware!! I walked in and they were polite and eager to help. They looked at my issue, started to diagnose and had it resolved in 15 minutes. From there they did some additional health checks of my system and I was complete. They explained that they are a small business and take a lot of pride in their work and business. Just got back my Macbook Pro (2016) after having an unexpected display issue, the device was able to repaired in about 5 days (including the weekend). The front desk assistant Jenn and the tech repair advisor Justin were very professional and quickly assisted my laptop concerns. Justin informed me of a backlight recall I had on my laptop, that I was unaware of, and was able guide me through the several processes of repairing my device. Both workers were very responsive and supportive to several of my questions and concerns, and Justin even assisted me with a question I had regarding some assistance I needed for data recovery from a previous Macbook device I own. I have had a very wild and negative journey with my previous Macbook repairs, as I have not had a good experiences with Apple and other Apple Certified repair businesses and I can easily say that Serviceware is a trustworthy and efficient business for your technological needs. The people working were very nice. I get a lot of anxiety but they were so cool, and made easy conversation while they checked out my phone. (I had a broken screen). The folks are top-notch! I needed to upgrade the RAM and disk on my iMac and the whole process was smooth, start to finish.

I called Serviceware at 1:50 needing a replacement screen by the end of the day. The team assured me that they'd be able to take care of me as long as I got there quickly. They are extremely polite and professional. When I came back before closing to pick it up, they had it ready and I was out the door quickly. When I got it to the car, I realized that they took the time to clean all the lint out of my charger port and my speakers. My phone looked like it just came out of the box. I just felt like it was a really nice touch on an already great experience. I can't wait to be a customer again! If you look in the dictionary for the definition of customer service there you will (or should!) find Serviceware. I can not say enough good things about Justin, Jen and the team in Pleasanton. I had an issue with my MacBook Pro, whereas it would not boot up properly and was just generally being uncooperative. I was in danger of loosing a ton of important data. I entered their shop, was greeted by Justin who actually took my computer and immediately began troubleshooting. He listened to my description of the problem I was having without a single hint of condescension. After diagnostics returned no obvious problems, he took another avenue, then another, until he hit on a resolution. All of this while I waited there! I'm a former Apple Store Genius, now I work for another Silicon Valley software company where my scope of service limits me to only do the initial triage of hardware Mac issues so we contract with the folks here. I can say with confidence that if Justin was my Backroom Genius Technician and Jenn was my Genius Admin, I'm able to give equal, if not better hardware service than if I was still at my Flagship store. They are an Apple Authorized Service Provider, and with that being said, realize they are audited a bit more harder than a retail store so you can have confidence in having them help you with your Mac hardware needs. read more

I had a recommendation from Apple, to reduce wait times, to call their certified Apple dealers. They could replace the battery in my MacBook Pro... battery price I expected...$165, but...the labor was $95/hr. When I insisted why they needed to take an hour...for a 5 min job, he says, "we charge hr minimum, but will do you a favor by only charging 1/2hr." ... for a FIVE min job. After quoting gouging labor costs, he exclaims, "That's What we can do, and if you don't like it, go somewhere else!...click*" I'm not sure whether he needed a hug or a knock-out hulk smash AKA attitude adjustment. REGARDLESS... find your manners, cherub, or find something that fits your lack of personal skills that can cater to a feckless attitude toward potential clientele. *Oh-side note Mobil Kangaroo's labor is $20 and the battery is a touch less! I wish I could give 10 stars because Serviceware is that amazing. Great communication, fast and efficient service, and super professional. I rely on my laptop for work and school and can't be without it for more than a day. Serviceware was super accommodating with that and told me they would order parts and let me know when to bring my laptop in. They constantly kept me updated and were always quick to respond when I emailed them. Once I brought it in, they told me it would be ready in an hour and it was ready in less than that! Drop off and pick up were both super easy and seamless as well. I will be going here from now on instead of the Apple store for all my repairs. 5 stars for the service done for my iMac! My iMac was experiencing shut down issues that needed hardware servicing, but I am a tiny person unable to carry this machine to any repair store. So, Apple Support set up an onsite service to be done by Serviceware. I was very impressed by the technician, Justin, assigned to fix my iMac. Once I finally got my computer, the issue they were supposed to solve was still a problem and my trackpad was also broken.
