Ordered the butterfly coconut drink and the strawberry matcha for my daughter, the lady at the front was friendly. And the place was very aesthetic looking. Though, the butterfly coconut drink was bland with very little flavor. Ended up throwing my drink away. My daughters drink was really sweet. I was looking for a quick boba stop after a work meeting in El Monte. I quickly "Yelped it!" and found this cute boba stop. I called in for two bobas, Matcha Latte with Boba and Taro Milk Tea with Boba. Little did I know I would walk into a uniquely designed and adorable boba shop. Upon walking in, there is a little merchandise table in the entryway. I immediately thought...what a great idea this was! The merchandise table was loaded with cute knick knacks and goodies (like socks, keychains, and more). I grabbed two lavender boba socks for my friend and I to match. When I got to the cash register, I could see my boba was ready. I told the team member my name and they immediately reached for it. I paid for the socks and the boba and left in under 5 minutes. What a awesome shop! Not to mention, my Matcha Latte with Boba tasted great - boba was soft and plump and the sweetness was just right. My friend like her Taro Milk Tea with Boba as well. Happy hour for Milk Teas Mon-Fri 4-7pm Cute boba shop :3 Simple setup but effective. EXCELLENT pricing for flavored teas ($4 for a large w/ complimentary toppings) and $5 for milk teas after tax. I can get two large (22oz) milk teas w/ boba for under $10! Even Lollicup and Tapex is more than $10 now for two. I like how they sell random stuff on the middle and the front corner of the store, like fake Daiso stuff lol but cheaper. I bought some cat & penguin pens. Their drinks are not too bad (milk teas are decently okay, Oreo garden lacking flavors imo). Their boba can be quite soft sometimes. I like their passion fruit (real syrup, has seeds) oolong except it's sweet as fuck, like diabetes sweet. Get at least 50-75% if you're used to Taiwanese boba shop (typically not super sweet). Their mojito is quite good. It has a lemonade base and is caffeine-free. What makes this place 4.5 stars for me is the price, and the fact that you only need 7 stamps for a free drink. These two are a rarity in SGV already. I give it 5 for being a low-key boba shop. I hope they keep their prices low, which is the main reason why I come here. read more

Friendly staff and one of the fastest services I've seen. The strawberry matcha latte (with added boba) is a must try. When it's mixed, it's not too sweet, and there is a good helping of actual strawberries! Wish they printed their logo onto the cups - the kiwi bird would have been cute to photograph. The outside is pretty hard to see and in a secluded area. The drinks though is where it's at. They have a unique variety of drinks. I tried the strawberry mojito and the butterfly lychee and wow they both were refreshing. You can probably ask for 0 or 25% sweetness because it is naturally sweet. Prices are pretty reasonable and one thing that's notable is that you can add on boba... for free!?!! Definitely a gem in El Monte and I'll be back for sure! read more

I got an real grey milk tea and i have to say its quite delicious. I got a small which cost me almost $5 for a 12-16 oz cup. The cost was excruciating, but honestly the tea itself was great quality. Tea was strong, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness for me. Id recommend simply because the tea tasted great. Their menu is kind of small and has most of the basics. Royal, jasmine, earl grey and rose milk teas. Sea cream drinks. Thai tea. About 6 fruit teas, and some fruit mojito (mint leaves) drinks. Also have the brown sugar milk drinks. So you really have something for everyone. Bathroom: x1. Dirty and smell. Toilet paper was out. And they had some rolls sitting on a shelf. Wow! Their roasted sea cream oolong is amazing! I gotta give it a 5 star, the oolong tea was amazing and flavorful and the sea cream was very dense and a little sticky in texture. I really enjoyed my drink. The butterfly lychee was also very refreshing and flavorful! I definitely recommend this place to any tea lover! Prices are reasonable. Parking is in a decent size plaza. We ended up purchasing: Royal Milk Tea (24 oz), $4.75 prior to tax- I ordered this drink to be made with 50% sweetener and no ice. What makes this tea house unique is that boba automatically comes with all the tea drinks. So I ended up picking the black and white boba, which is brown sugar boba and crystal boba. I thought the milk tea was smooth and had a good flavor. I think 50% sweetness is the perfect amount for me since I do not my drinks too sweet. But I didn't like the crystal boba as much. I didn't really like the texture and felt it didn't add much flavor. I probably would just go with regular boba in the future. Thai Milk Tea (24 oz), $4.75 prior to tax- My husband ordered this drink to also be made with 50% sweetener and no ice. My husband picked brown sugar boba with his drink. What's really unique about Hello Boba is that you can either purchase or save up stamp cards to exchange for neat merchandise. They had boba and other themed earrings, pins, keychain/lanyards, and even purses! The fact that you can choose either option to redeem these items is great. I gave my friend the BOGO Royal Milk tea but she said she liked it. I got the: 1) Thai tea: -Creamy, tasty Thai tea as my Thai tea standards go. -The flavor isn't too strong and it isn't too milky either. -Good idea to get it with the Happy Hour deal. 2) Mango Mojito: -Super refreshing! Even after all the ice melted. -Comes with real mint inside. -Nice sweet mango flavor with slight mintiness. It's really neat that their fruity teas are around $3. The neatest thing of all is that you can get these things for free with a specific amount of stamp cards so that's a pretty good motivation for people who go ham with stamp cards. I felt quite safe ordering from here. I got the strawberry matcha latte. It's unique. There's popping boba and chopped strawberries in the drink. Wanted to grab some boba on the way home, and Hello Boba caught our eye with it's cute little kiwi bird logo. The shop itself is cute and clean with a tiny section of boba-themed goodies that you can buy like keychains, AirPod cases, etc. There was a lot of tasty-sounding drinks on the menu, but wanted to get something fruity and refreshing. I ordered a Passionfruit Green Tea for myself with 50% sweetness from the worker's recommendation. I know sometimes for fruity drinks, you gotta tone down the sweetness levels a lot otherwise you get a sugar overload. At first I was going to go with 75%, but so glad I went with 50% instead. It was still a little on the sweeter side, but not undrinkable. I did enjoy the refreshing, tart-y flavor of the passionfruit though! I forgot to mention the boba comes FREE with your drink! So many places charge so much now for toppings, so it was nice to see this was include and the boba was sooo soft and yummy. Overall, Hello Boba is cute and would come back! Ordered the larger sized one and they asked if I wanted Boba. Being so used to paying al la carte for Boba at other places, I passed. Another new boba shop that has recently opened up in El Monte. Heard quite a few things about the tea and the fact that they have free toppings, so made my way over on a weekday afternoon to take advantage of their Happy Hour special. Currently, they are offering a Happy Hour promotion from Monday-Friday 4-7PM; if you purchase a Royal Milk tea or Thai Milk tea, you'll receive another one for free. You can mix and match the drinks and add toppings, which is really nice. I was able to try one of each flavor - I personally enjoyed the Thai Milk tea more than the Royal Milk tea. At regular sugar, the drink was a little too sweet, but the flavors were strong. The boba was cooked well, super chewy with a hint of sweetness. I don't think I've had a bad Thai Tea really, but I wouldn't mind ordering this again. Royal Milk tea was alright. I think the tea that they used is different from the teas that are normally used in regular milk tea, making the drink taste a little artificial. I didn't adjust for sugar, so the regular sugar was too sweet as well. My friend adjusted his at 50%, which he thought was perfect. He stated that he could really taste the tea flavor in his cup. Personally wouldn't order this one again, but I would recommend adjusting down in sugar level. Besides regular brown sugar boba, they also offer crystal boba, black and white boba (mix of the two I believe), and strawberry & peach popping boba as free toppings. Jellies and egg pudding are an additional $0.55. Drinks are very fairly priced - classics are $3.95 with an upgrade to a large costing $0.55. Their specialty drinks are less than $6, an they also offer fruit teas for $2.95. This storefront is located in a pretty large plaza in El Monte, right next to Dim Sum King. Plenty of parking in the lot. The interior is also very nice - lots of brown and light blue hues with cute décor on the wall. Once dine-in is available again, it'll be nice to take advantage of the booths and chairs to talk or study. Worker helping us was super friendly and nice. tl;dr - Another new boba shop to open in El Monte. Drinks were pretty good, but I think I'll stick to the Thai Tea or try some of their fruit teas the next time I visit. No minimum on credit card! read more
