I visited on a bright, sunny Thursday afternoon, so the vibes were already good and it got even better after my first sip of the Spanish latte. I was debating between that and the Mexican sidecar but the barista kindly informed me that the latter was on the sweeter side, so she preferred the Spanish since it was less sweet. I opted for that drink for the same reason and she was right. I also tried the Biscoff latte and I don't know if the syrup is house-made, but it was also good with the right amount of sweetness. It's very cool that they roast their beans in-house, and although I'm no coffee connoisseur, I thought the quality of the espresso was great. The only thing is that all the syrup sat at the bottom, so be sure to mix it in well. There's no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating on the turf to sit and relax. read more

This spot was soo good! I got their Pandan and Palm Sugar, which was the perfect amount of earthiness + sweet + coffee. One of the best Pandan drinks I've ever had. It's been a while since I last stopped in, and everything was just as I remembered, tiny, minimal, and cozy. Their hojicha is made fresh and so yummy. It's not overly sweet, so you can actually taste the flavor, which I love. The matcha is also really good. I actually prefer it over their neighbor who "specializes" in it. Service was friendly, though I did notice it seemed like a new crew. The manager used to always be there, and the previous staff was a bit more chatty, which made the wait feel quicker. Very solid hojicha here. The hojicha was rich, creamy with a nice roasted flavor from Mizuba, ceremonial grade. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. There's plenty of outdoor seating, so it's a comfortable spot to hang out for a bit, and free parking is always a big plus. They also sell Mexican-style pastries on the side, which is a nice touch if you want something to snack on with your drink. You can also buy their coffee beans. Visited Local Coffee Roasters a few times over the past year and each time has been a good one. The service and staff are welcoming and answer any questions I have about the menu. The location serves up standard coffee options, matcha and food/pastry items. It's standing room only inside with the merch and coffee blends for sale. The pastry options might vary on a daily basis. On a recent visit, I ordered the Houjicha and chocolate chip scone. To note: almond or oat milk substitution is $1 extra. I ordered my drink iced and took the scone as is, but they offered to warm it up if I wanted. This Houjicha and chocolate chip scone pairing went well together. I like the roasted flavor of Houjicha matcha. The scone was great! I'm not a scone person but it looked really good on the display so I tried it. In the same area as the HCM place , their entrance is outside by the outdoor courtyard. Cute shop with a beautiful smiling face behind the counter . The friendly lady was welcoming as we step foot in the door. She mentioned a few of her regulars and her favorite drinks, seeing how baffled we were on which drinks to order . Ultimately we settled on their maple cold brew with cream foam . My husband and my friend did state they were surprised how tasty our drinks were and the creamy taste of the foam really enhanced the flavor. Local Coffee is located right next to the Haven City Market and between GW Supermarket. I was looking for a quick coffee grab and was glad this spot wasn't too busy around 10:30 am. There was plenty of parking spots available as well. I went ahead and ordered the banana milk latte. This was a apparently a seasonal drink that they are removing from the menu, so I was one of the last people to get it. It was a really good drink that had a vibrant banana flavor and not too sweet. This was a nice refreshing drink, especially since it was hotter that day. This store does not have seating inside, so keep in mind it's more of a grab and go. However, if you need a spot to sit and chat, then I'd recommend to go over to the Haven City Market side. Overall, this was a nice little shop with good coffee. Local Coffee is one of my go-to spots. I'm here at least once a week, usually after grabbing lunch at Haven City. I'm a big fan of their Pandan & Palm Sugar Latte and the Mexican Sidecar, but I recently tried the Lavender Dreams from their Spring menu and loved that too. I've had it hot and cold, all dependent on the weather and my mood. The staff here are all friendly and helpful. I do like the decor, simple and welcoming. I enjoy seeing what seasonal drinks they have. This small coffee shop is located directly next to Haven City Market Hall. While it is small and has no/limited seating, the seating at Haven City is expansive! The coffee does pack a punch, the flavors are nice and strong. I ordered the Sidecar Latte, it was dark and cinnamon-y. Staff were super friendly and happy to chat while I waited for my order. The place itself is small inside, but it is located adjacent to haven city, so there is plenty of seating available. The service was good, the girl barista who took my order was polite and the guy barista who made the drink was great. The coffee itself is no big deal though and I was a bit disappointed. For $8+, I felt it was overpriced for its size and quality. They charge a whole $1 for milk alternatives which is insane, most coffee shops charge an extra .50 cents max. Yummmmm. My partner got me the lavender dream latte and it was delicious! He got it half sweetened and as he put it, it was "delightful". The lavender wasn't overpowering and it was almost too easy to drink! The cold brew was also very solid! There are many different storefronts and about any type of food that one is craving for. Being that it is summer, there was no A/C in this storefront, which of course, also has no inside seating. I felt bad for the workers as it felt more stuffy inside than out, where it was 95+ degrees out. It does make me wonder about the "freshness" of items in the coffee shop due to inconsistent temperature, i.e. coffee beans, baked goods, dairy products, etc. Since it was my first time, I wanted to try one of their specialty drinks. Before arriving, I read a lot of Yelp reviewers who loved their Pandan and Palm Sugar Latte. The cashier was very kind and patient in answering my questions. Pandan and Palm Sugar Latte Iced (less ice) $6.75 It was subtle in sugar and not overpowering. I did not taste much of the pandan or the espresso, so it was more milky and palm sugar than anything else. Since it was hot out, even the "less" ice melted by the time I arrived back at my office, which was only 10 minutes away. I can imagine parking being a nightmare especially during the weekend, with this many storefronts (esp. Haven City). Local Coffee is a tiny coffee and roasters shop located at 987 South Glendora Avenue Unit 3, West Covina, CA. It's considered one of the top 10 coffee shop in the area accdg to locals. As soon as I entered and immediately looked at their menu. It seems they offer a decent selection of coffee and tea. Similarly, they have pastries albeit limited. Interior design and layout were simple but cute and small. No seats inside, however, they have some coffee table and chairs as well benches. I ordered a hot Spanish Latte. It was bloody ordinary but good. The condiment section was neatly organized and clean. Service was on point. Prices are modest but speciality coffees are pricey. Atmosphere was lively and warm. Staff were professional and affable. Finding parking can be challenging given that the coffee shop is in a large plaza. Overall, I liked my latte and had a good order experience. We were in the area and in need (okay, maybe in want, not need) of some coffee! We stopped by Local Coffee and really enjoyed our visit! The space is so warm and welcoming. I love all of the seasonal decor! They do have a seasonal menu, but my partner and I wanted to try their staples. We ended up getting the iced Mexican Sidecar and iced Pandan and Palm Sugar. After picking up my poke bowl in the same plaza, I hit up this new coffee shop. The dude working was busy with taking and making orders happen so I waited a little bit but that's okay. While waiting for a little bit, a girl had just come in to work, chatted up with another girl in the back, just stood near the cash register, and didn't even acknowledge my presence. The guy working seemed to be doing everything even though there were others on shift. Definitely not a good first impression especially for a new business. (2/5) **Iced Pandan & Palm Sugar: I got recommended this drink because I wasn't looking for anything too sweet. The pandan flavor was definitely there but the coffee flavor, not so much. The first couple sips were good but the last half of the drink was extremely sweet. (3/5) **Pandan Biscoff Cookie: The cookie itself was extremely moist and delicious. The biscoff cookie was quite soggy. Extremely sweet overall so only consume if you have a sweet tooth. (3/5) I had originally wanted to try their espresso tonic but they were out of tonic water. That's fine but as an extremely new business, it's important to have every ingredient available to make all the drinks. Everything about this experience was just average and nothing stood out. Local Coffee (located in the Hong Kong Plaza) has welcoming, friendly staff. However, they lack coffee sleeves and serve watered down matcha drinks. On Sunday (near 8AM), I ordered the hot Americano ($4) and iced Matcha ($6.50). The lady at the register is helpful and friendly, and they prepared the drinks under three minutes. Unfortunately, the iced Matcha barely tasted like matcha. Instead, I tasted only diluted milk. Thankfully, the drink didn't have much ice, so there was a lot of green milk to sip. I felt extremely underwhelmed since the lady at the register had recommended it. Concerning the hot Americano, the caffeine is weak. Also, I noticed that the hot Americano was double cupped. They explained that they don't even have cardboard sleeves to hold the hot beverage. The cups are thin, so the two thin cups barely helped with holding the hot beverage. Thankfully, they had a cardboard tray to assist me. Regarding ambiance, there's no place to sit inside since the area is cramped and small. There are outdoor seats. Overall, it's difficult to imagine returning since coffee/cafe shops is a saturated market with many alternative locations. Walked in this afternoon on a whim and was greeted immediately! I asked a couple questions and the staff answered everything kindly. I ordered the Pandan and the Cookie Butter Iced Lattes. Both drinks were made quickly and labeled. The pandan one was my favorite. It is sweetened with palm sugar and was still not too sweet which I enjoyed. I like that you can actually taste the Pandan flavor. The cookie latte was okay it just kind of tasted like milk and not like anything cookie butter related so I wouldnt get this again.
