There's limited free street parking and there's a free parking garage not too far. I originally ordered a strawberry matcha but was informed they were out of matcha and wouldn't be getting any for another week. I was very disappointed to hear thay since that was the main drink I wanted to try. I ended up getting the cookie butter latte and it's so good! The espresso balances well with the sweetness of the cookie butter and it might be the best cookie butter latte I've tried. My friend got the hot mocha and I tried it and it was also really good! It tasted like the espresso melted an actual piece of chocolate. I usually don't like mocha drinks so this was a pleasant surprise. I had been interested in making a visit to Kristos when I saw it on my social media feed, so we stopped by over the weekend to grab a quick coffee before being out and about. Kristos is behind Lemon Zest, so it's in your best interest to turn onto Sixth Street and park in the lot there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is very small, but clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was good. We ordered the iced dulce de latte, iced baklava latte, and kids' hot chocolate. The baklava latte was good, but nothing crazy. The kids' hot chocolate my kid finished it, which doesn't happen often. Unfortunately the iced dulce de latte wasn't good, it had a very thick layer of dulce de leche that was difficult to stir and the mixture wasn't enjoyable. Genuine, pleasant surprise shook me... it's TASTY! I felt awake as I sipped this smooth, premium coffee. I arrived at Kristos Coffee (Azusa) on Tuesday (around 9:35AM). Parking is very easy if familiar with its location. Kristos Coffee (Azusa) is hidden alongside the Lemon Zest business's backside; Kristos Coffee has its own shared lot. There's also street parking. (Quick Note: Shockingly, Kristo Coffee is wedged between two Azusa coffee juggernauts [i.e. Pressed + Flower, Penny Coffee Roasters], yet it still confidently competes.) Staff is professional, charming, and hardworking. Staff briskly welcomed me, and Staff answered all my questions with a calm, relaxed demeanor. Staff is also very attentive. My drink took three minutes and 15 seconds. Good time. As mentioned, I enjoyed my Teddy Latte ($8.75 - 20oz - Iced). After my first sip, I fought the urge to scream in joy. This iced coffee tastes crisp and clean; it deftly avoids that gloopy processed taste. Rather, I smiled as its fresh coffee roast flavor and slumbering sweetness playfully slapped me across the cheek. With a relaxed sigh, the aftertaste of brown sugar and cinnamon stretched lithely. My husband and I have been here several times since they've opened up this location. Originally, they were operating out of a home and we were never able to grab coffee from them then. During our last visit, we got the macadamia coconut latte which is part of their summer menu. It was very coconut forward so if you don't like coconut, don't get this. It was also just a bit too sweet for us so I'd probably adjust the sweetness next time. In our previous visits, we've also gotten the baklava latte, the Teddy, pistachio latte, and the monarch, which are all on their regular permanent menu. My go-to order is the Monarch which is espresso based with vanilla, white chocolate, cinnamon, and milk. Tried this coffee spot for the first time and was seriously impressed. We ordered The Teddy, The Monarch, and a S'more Latte, and each drink brought something different to the table. The Teddy was hands-down our favorite--and I can absolutely see why it's their local favorite. It's made with sweet brown sugar, hazelnut, non-dairy creamer, rich espresso, and milk, topped with cinnamon. We ordered ours with oat milk and it was perfect. The coffee flavor still came through beautifully, the oat milk added a subtle nutty note, and the cinnamon was the icing on the cake, giving it a smooth, cozy finish. Balanced, comforting, and incredibly well done. 10/10. The S'more Latte features toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate, espresso, milk, and is topped with house-made toasted marshmallow fluff. The flavor combo is great, but the marshmallow fluff is very thick and definitely needs to be mixed well into the drink to get the full flavor. Overall, it's a solid and enjoyable drink, though I personally would've preferred the marshmallow element as more of a flavored foam topper rather than actual marshmallow fluff. Still good, just not my favorite of the three. 7/10. The Monarch was another standout. Made with espresso, white chocolate, and milk, it was flavorful without being overly sweet or chocolate-heavy like some places tend to do. The balance between the coffee and white chocolate was spot-on and gave it a really smooth, unique taste. Definitely a repeat order.
