What a vibe! Came here to support my friend who was playing a set. Not only was the music touch incredible, but the food was absolutely delicious. Staff was also friendly. We were able to sit at the bar and get up close and personal to the magic of the barista. The servings of potatoes are shareable. The coffees, excellent. And the food, wow. The photos speak for themselves. The only reason I knock a star is because they were understaffed when we went. The wait was long and the turn around to clean the tables took a minute. I hope that they hired more, as the person in the back did mention they are in the process. There was only one Barista and one runner at the time. But they did kick ass. The vibe felt different. I think it was the seating. The first time we sat by the window and it felt intimate. The second time, we sat pretty close to another table, and it felt less intimate. The ideal find for our record thrifting Saturday meetup: a few buddies recently got into the vinyl scene and asked where we could go to look for used and new records. I suggested a few stops in and around Covina, so I went to Yelp to find a good spot to grab breakfast first. The name caught my attention and upon a quick Yelp look, it made for an easy decision. We sat outside but the inside is pretty cool - full DJ setup and lots of albums. I ordered the pork belly and a side of potatoes for the table to split. And, a latte of course: The pork belly was... mmmmm.... so, so good. Crispy and seasoned and hot. The greens were a nice complement to the salty goodness of main dish. The potatoes were also quite good but my only comment was that they used the same seasoning as the pork belly and it was a little heavy on the potatoes. Don't get me wrong, they were good but it was the same note twice. The latte was solid. And, the location made for the perfect meetup spot. We stopped by on an early morning looking for matcha drinks. This establishment is located in downtown Covina. You can park on the street or in the garage. They are only open from early morning to lunch time. When we came it was not too busy. We were greeted right away and were there to order some drinks to go. I liked the environment. We came by early on a Saturday morning just to try out some of the drinks. The location has parking on the street and a parking garage nearby. The vibe has a cool atmosphere. They have good music playing the entire time. The staff took care of us and made us feel welcomed the whole time. We decided on the Chaga Matcha and Matcha Latte both with oat milk. Side note: milk substitutions are free of charge. Huge plus! :) They have countertop seating and a few tables inside to dine in. Also the outside patio has 3-4 tables. As someone who moved to Covina recently, I have been very underwhelmed by the food options here. A lot of places are mediocre and overpriced. Full Circle is one of the few places in Covina that I would actually bring my friends to. I read some previous reviews before posting this review so I want to point out a complaint someone had about the food. They mentioned they wanted pickled onions for their avo toast on the side and didn't get that. I can confirm they took that feedback into consideration, since I ordered the same (sans egg) and had my pickled onions on the side. In terms of the food that I ordered, I enjoyed the housemade sourdough bread, the chili oil on my avo toast (generously spread), and the thick cut pickled onions as accoutrements. The pork belly had some tough parts due to the nature of how it's cooked and wasn't particularly flavorful, but boded well with everything else on my plate. Portions are decent for the entree and sides. We also ordered the fried potatoes on the side which are thick cut and seasoned well. For a drink, the barista allowed me to customize my drink so I got an iced matcha latte with soy, black sesame, and espresso shots to make it a dirty matcha. She asked for feedback on taste, which is another plus in my book because she actually cares to make it well. I let her know I liked the ratio and was still able to taste the matcha most of all which is what I prefer in my matcha drinks whether they have espresso shots or not. As everyone has mentioned, the vibes are chill and relaxing. It's a great place to talk with friends even with the DJ spinning. We had a DJ playing for a bit and when they were done, 60s music was switched on to play on a Friday afternoon. Definitely appreciate the not rushed atmosphere, but I would probably be singing a different tune if it's busy there. I selfishly want to gate keep this new establishment, but I have to share how great our family breakfast experience was with the two kiddos. Food is 11/10. Portions are all shareable! We got the pork belly and eggs main, which came with two thicc cut deep fried pork belly, choice of egg preparation, grilled bread, and a side salad that was dressed in a delicious vinaigrette. The egg breakfast sandwhich was packed! I saved half for later. For sides, we got some crispy and tender potatoes and tasty cinnamon toast accompanied by mascarpone. It's unassuming at first, but the subtle balance of sweetness and cinnamon comes in on the back end. My kids loved these. Service was friendly and attentive. We came with our toddler, and were asked if we'd like a plastic cub for her water. I liked that it was reusable. We ordered a lot of food to try out the menu. There was only one person working of the beverages, so that came a little slower than the food, but I didn't mind. I was enjoying tunes by Daniel Cesar, Brent Fayaz and H.E.R. Ambience and vibes hands down exceeded expectations. I love how they repainted the inside a Hunter green with green accent wallpaper. It's rare to be waiting for your food at a restaurant while already thinking about what you'll eat later... but that was me at Full Circle today. I was genuinely excited to try this place given their interesting approach to food and music. I also love any spot that advertises fresh, clean ingredients. Starting with the pros: Full Circle has a beautiful, clean interior and very friendly staff. I loved watching the barista work, it's clear she's talented at what she does. Now for the cons. By 11:30am, they seemed to be running low on many ingredients. They were out of pork belly, potatoes, regular bread, and cinnamon loaf. However, while ordering, we were only told they were out of cinnamon loaf. It wasn't until a few minutes later that we were informed they also didn't have pork belly, bread, or potatoes. I'd understand this more if it were closer to their 2pm closing time... but it was 11:30am. Luckily, they weren't out of coffee, so I ordered a vanilla latte with cold foam, it was overly sweet but good. About 20 minutes later, I received my avocado toast with egg. It was pretty good, but I specifically asked for the pickled onions on the side and was reassured they would be. When it came out, they were all over the egg. I understand restaurants can get hectic, but small details like that can put a damper on the experience, especially after finding out half the menu is unavailable. That said, the toast did taste fresh, and I can't complain about that. I just wish I'd had the chance to try the items I originally ordered. What I can complain about is the price: $50 for two coffees and two fairly small avocado toasts with egg. I'd love to come back and give this spot another try, but I may wait until management has a better handle on keeping ingredients stocked. There's definitely a lot of potential here. read more

First time visiting Full Circle right across from Covina City Hall and I really wanted to like it, especially as a local who remembers the previous Mexican spot that used to be here. I'm giving it two stars because the staff, especially the gentleman who helped us, was genuinely kind and welcoming. That part did not go unnoticed. However, the service flow needs work. Our potatoes came out with no utensils and we had to wait until the food was already in front of us to ask for them. No extra napkins were provided, and we were never checked on after the food arrived. We eventually had to flag someone down for the check. None of those things alone would have cost a star, but together they made the experience feel inattentive. The bigger issue was the food. It was extremely bland. Mid bite I genuinely wondered if everything was intentionally under seasoned because there was almost no depth of flavor. When pricing is on the higher side, expectations naturally go up with it, and unfortunately the taste just did not match the cost. The coffee drinks were also disappointing. I love coffee and could not finish mine. There were no basic table additions like salt, pepper, sugar, or creamer readily available, which made it hard to adjust anything to taste. If the concept is meant to be elevated or minimalist, that's fine, but the flavors still need to stand confidently on their own. I chose outdoor seating, which I appreciated for the natural light and quieter vibe, but the exterior could use some attention. It felt a bit unpolished, and hearing the DJ inside gave the space more of a lounge or nightlife feel than a relaxed brunch setting. I can see how some people might enjoy that energy, and clearly the place draws a crowd because there were people waiting. I respect any business investing in the Covina community, and I do wish them success. I made my way and was happy to see that there was street parking available as sometimes the downtown area can be very very. I walked in and was seated immediately. The inside has a minimalist vibe. They have about a coffee bar and about 10 tables inside. They also have about 3 tables outside. I was just going to get a drink but was also provided with a food menu. They had a Fluffy Egg Breakfast Sandwich. It sounded good so I went ahead and ordered it. I also asked for a Chaga Matcha and a Vanilla Latte to try. The food came out first. The sandwich was very delicious. The egg indeed was very fluffy. I loved that they provided a chili oil to add to the sandwich. The bread tasted very good. If I remember correctly, they make their own bread! The latte was good. The coffee is on the stronger side, which I liked. The matcha tasted a bit on the sweeter side. This iced coffee was not watered down; rather, it felt sincere and functional. I arrived at Full Circle (Covina) on Thursday (around 11:58AM). It's located in Downtown Covina; it's across the street from Covina City Hall. Parking is very easy and plentiful. At first glance, Full Circle (Covina) looks closed. Its exterior is plain and ugly. However, as I approached its doors, I found a lively interior with loud, amped music. (Important Note: Full Circle (Covina) is at its Soft Opening stage. Currently, the location looks very bare bones and incomplete.) Staff is professional and welcoming. Staff (receipt says Marissa) is very personable and friendly. Marissa repeatedly attempted to engage conversation with me. Marissa would say phrases like "How's your day going so far?" and promptly answer any questions. As mentioned, I ordered the the iced Vanilla Latte ($7). This ice coffee was ready in two minutes and 53 seconds. Very fast! Regarding ambiance, Full Circle (Covina) is currently very plain and unattractive. It's sparsely decorated with a couple plants while random orange-colored crates lay on its floors. Fortunately, the location is very clean; its tables and chairs are shiny and new; and its interior felt well-ventilated and comfortable. Full Circle (Covina) also has two gender neutral restrooms in the back. The location also has customer wifi with password, but customers must speak with staff for the information; their wifi currently begins with the generic Frontier name. Also, there's plenty of seating inside and outside; two electric wall sockets sit conveniently for customer use. If I had to nitpick, the place echoes a lot. The chattering, music, and harsh buzzing sounds from the counter's machines are amplified by this echoing. Also, there's currently no napkin dispenser, and I did not see a trashcan which is strange. If this place ever became busy, I worry about the impending, harsh volume. Overall, I sincerely enjoyed my iced Vanilla Latte ($7) at Full Circle (Covina). Since this location is still in its "Soft Opening" stage, there's a definite chance that this place will only improve with time. As of now, Full Circle (Covina) offers functional and tasty coffee. I was in the area always looking for new coffee shops to try and came across this one. I ordered a vanilla iced latte for $7.50. The coffee was a little overpowered by the vanilla but still had a good flavor. I was going to order food however was in a rush so I just took the drink to go. The space is very retro I may add which I personally love, space was very open with plenty of seating outside and in. There was also a space for a DJ in assuming that looked really cool as it was surrounded by records as decorations. While I was in there they played some cool tunes. This spot is definitely worth checking out, even if it's just to work or grab a bite. Walked in looking for a matcha and ended up having on of the best breakaways I've had in a long time. The toast was LOADED with pork belly and chili oil. I don't know what's in the chili oil but they need to sell that by the gallon. It has a nice flavor to it without being overly salty and has that awesome numbing feel you get when you have Szechuan. My only complaint was I couldn't take bigger bites because it was so much! The pork belly was crispy on the outside and fatty in the inside. Matcha was great. Super creamy and great choice to get it half sweet so I can really taste the matcha. I ordered the Serious Black and Matcha Tonic with Plum Tamarind for my family. Paired with the eggs, it was a comfort dish done right and easily one of the best brunch plates I've had in a while. I had an 805 beer with it, ice cold and refreshing, which complemented the meal perfectly. They also offer mimosas, making this an ideal spot for brunch, day drinking, or just easing into the weekend. What really sets Full Circle apart is the atmosphere. Having a DJ spinning throughout the day creates a relaxed but energetic vibe that makes you want to stay, talk, and enjoy your time. There's a lot of work that needs to be done. There's a place in Downtown Vegas that has the same concept but the vibe is a brunch vibe. Here the vibe is a nightclub vibe but with brunch decor. Food wise, it's very overpriced and not great quality. We got the Chili Oil Toast and Pork Belly & Eggs... everything was overcooked... the pork belly was like jerky. Flavor was flat. Coffee was not great either.... For 2 entrees and 2 coffees it came out to $60... we walked over to Claro's to get a sandwich to split afterwards... Servers were nice but slow... there was only 2 people, 1 making drinks and 1 serving that we saw, maybe 1 person in the kitchen? This was a Saturday at noon... Though it feels like a 1 star review, I'm hoping that with time this place gets a better menu, chef, barista, and finds the right vibe. Which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. This spot used to be Chismosa Café. The vibe is great -- good energy, good music (it's never too early for The Smiths). The menu is small but everything we tried was delicious. My husband was hesitant at first, but left happy. We ordered the pork belly plate with eggs, chili oil toast, and the egg sandwich. The chili oil toast was unique and full of flavor. I had a cappuccino and he ordered orange juice. Pros: * The staff gladly replaced my bitter cappuccino with an iced vanilla latte -- and it was amazing! * The food was outstanding. * The chili oil is killer, and the house-made bread is fantastic. Such a VIBE! Came here for a spontaneous breakfast, and as soon as you walk in it feels very welcoming. We ordered a latte (needs a little work), a breakfast burrito, and pork belly avocado toast, and overall we gave it a 8.5/10. Definitely on the pricey side, but your food is made to order so it could take some time, but ours came out quick even with that heads up. It would feel wrong to give this spot anything below a 5 star rating, would definitely go back. read more
