I even had picture of my id on my phone and tried showing proof and the way they said it could've been way nicer, like sorry we don't accept that form of identification instead we got hit with get out we aren't serving you! This bar is perfect for what it is. It's clean, there's plenty of tables, lots of space at the bar, big TV's, and a great selection of beers and few ciders. They don't serve food but you can bring your own. They ONLY have beer and wine. They have foosball, automated dart games, and a Bluetooth juke box. I took my niece here (who just turned 21(!)) and we had a flight each. We came on a Tuesday night at around 2200. Place had about 6-8 people in it and it's pretty cool. Not too dimly lit, and there's music but it's not too loud that you can't have an intimate conversation. I imagine during the weekend this place is probably pretty busy. It's honestly not too dive-y (bar) at all. The floor was swept pretty clean and there looked to me that there were some regulars but no bar flies. Overall it was pretty cool. If "dive bars" are you sorta thing, this place is one of the best I've ever been to. They've got a great selection of craft brews on tap, and some hard to find stuff as well (Goose Island Bourbon County anyone?). The BEST part is, they've got really cheap prices on Macro-brews as well (I started my night off with two, 22 ounce Rolling Rocks for less than $10!). The music isn't so loud that you can't hear your buddy sitting next to you, but loud enough so you two aren't playing the "Hey, what song is playing" game all night long. If you don't wanna chat with your crew, no worries, they've got electric dart boards in one area, where you can test your skills against others. Service was top notch. I mean, the place wasn't PACKED, but there were plenty of patrons when I stopped in. The server, all by herself, held it down, making sure everyone had drinks (and refills). I love that The Republic carries an array of beers that from in and out of California. I saw Epic Brewing (Utah) and Great Divide (Colorado) on the overhead list. Was looking for a place to grab a couple drinks after dinner with some buddies and we saw this spot. Looked kinda sketchy from the outside but went in anyways. Turned out to be a good idea. They have a good amount of craft brews on tap! Love that! They also have a couple a dart boards and a foosball table inside. Bartenders were really cool. Place isn't very big so as the night went on it got a little crowded. Only complain I have about this place is the restrooms. They were pretty bad and it's only a one person bathroom. I had heard about this place for a while before I actually came in to have a drink. I've only been here a couple of times but it's been great! They only been open for a little over a year but they already have a great beer and wine selection. Alot of craft beers on tap, from lagunitas and Firestone to goose island. Amazing beers at average price which works great for me! They have a pool table, darts and a jukebox pretty standard bar room activities but they people are cool and the place is pretty lively. Randomly found this place on yelp and it had good reviews so decided to check it out for a girls night out. Definitely not a Wednesday girls night out kinda place. All the previous reviews were on point with the bar having awesome beers on Tap and a great selection! Atmosphere: "going out to the club/bar" style place. The floor is polished cement with about 10 small high top tables running along the wall and lots of open space. It has a Foosball table, juke box machine, TV's and two high tech dart boards. Played darts for the first time. Super fun... Maybe because I'm competitive and I was able to hit the bullseye twice. (Shameless bragging here.) Great selection of beer. They had lots of breweries and brews that I don't see most other places, some beers I didn't even know come on draft. They have strong ones and light ones, easy drinkers and full of flavors. Lots of taps too, so there's bound to be something you like. Prices are better than some of the nearby stuckup beer places, pretty reasonable. The atmosphere is divey but it may have just been the day I was there. Not that that's a bad thing, I'm going back if only for that. Come as you are, no obligations, and enjoy. The clientele ranged all over the spectrum so it ended up as good people watching too. Met up with a friend for a quick drink, this was my first time at The Republic. I figured that this would be a beer only establishment, but I was wrong. They have wine, and it's in a can. White, Red and Rose. This was a new concept for me, but I was intrigued. I decided on the White can wine, and it was actually really good. Better than wine in a box that's for sure. That's a plus. They also have touchtones, so the music selection was decent. The bartenders were attentive and friendly, and it wasn't too crowded or too slow, it was just right. I dropped in with some friends after having AYCE sushi. There's a pretty good selection of brews on tap + bottles. I believe most of the beers were from the SoCal area which was nice since I'm used to drinking SF stuff. The service was pretty nice. The bartender was able to suggest a beer based on the characteristics I wanted. Prices were standard for a tap room ~ $5 - $8 for a pint. I was surprised to see the place absolutely dead on a Friday night. People started to trickle in around 10:00pm but the ratio was like.. 5:1 (which might be an abnormality since I'm not from the area). The place also has foosball for $0.50 per game and darts with prices varying. The foosball table is a competition level Tornado and comes with high-performance balls. The table needs A LOT of maintenance - The field was really dirty, the bars weren't greased, and the table was really off-balanced. My guess is real foosball players don't drop in very often. For darts - pick them up at the bar and pay for your games at the machines. The darts came with extra tips which is great for terrible players like myself. Definitely a cool place to hang out and have a chill evening. The place's laid back vibe isn't really for me but give it a try! Maybe you'll like it. read more

Don't mind people working for their tips but don't forget the other customers. Also, place does not ADA restrooms. Understandable that building is old and are probably grandfathered in, but why not have a portable accessible restroom out back? It was a good experience until 2AM, the bartender told us they are going to close in 5 minutes at 1:55AM, so we hurried up and finished our bottles, but at 1:59 AM and took all our drinks even I was holding my bottle for my last drop, and he said I need to take all your drinks because we are closing now, I said ok let me finish this one last drop (it was like less than 50ml Corona), and he said no I have to take it it's the California law to take all drinks at 2, (it was 1:59 when I checked my phone), and he said, "I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY, IT IS THE LAW AND YOU CAN GO TALK TO FUCKING ANYONE." I still couldn't believe he said that F word to his customer who just tried to finish the last drop before he wants to leave, I was holding the bottle and almost finished it but he just TOOK IT FROM MY HAND. Most places don't have Belgian beers on tap and I like the fact that they have darts and a pool table. I wish they had more than one pool table but other than that the management is really good.
