I don't normally write reviews, but this venue absolutely deserves one. We recently celebrated my husband's surprise 50th birthday here, and the entire evening exceeded every expectation. After months of planning, I was naturally nervous, but Bill made the whole process so much easier. He was incredibly accommodating, patient with all of my questions, and always willing to work with me to make sure every detail came together. Most importantly, he was true to his word. Everything we discussed beforehand was delivered exactly as promised, which gave me so much peace of mind. The staff was just as amazing. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that everyone was having a great time. They kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes so I could relax and enjoy such a special evening with my family and friends. The venue itself was beautiful, clean, and created the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting the space, the service, and how well everything was organized. Seeing the look on my husband's face when he walked into his surprise party is a memory I'll treasure forever, and this venue played a huge part in making that moment possible. My wife and I visited Lincoln House for the first time, and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. The service was extremely slow to start--we waited a while just for water and to get drink orders taken. We ordered the Ahi tuna appetizer, which was good, but the course pacing completely fell apart after that. Our salads took 25 minutes to arrive. Before I could even get the fresh ground pepper I requested, our main courses were rushed to the table while we hadn't even started our salads. The food quality was unacceptable for an upscale restaurant: Both my wife and I ordered our steaks medium-rare. Mine arrived completely leathery, dry as a bone, and thoroughly overcooked. I didn't eat a single bite of it. My wife's steak arrived medium-well, and her side of rice was completely dry. The bottle of red wine we ordered from their very small wine list was served warm. When we declined having the steak re-fired or free dessert, we finished our wine and asked for the check. The $62 inedible steak was still on the bill, so I asked to speak with the owner. When I calmly explained the issues, the owner became angry that I didn't want the steak redone and walked away mid-conversation. He eventually came back, removed the $62 steak, and told us he didn't want us back in his restaurant. To top it off, for an establishment charging fine-dining prices where guests dress up, the owner was wearing shorts and sneakers. One chance is all a restaurant gets to make a good impression. Lincoln House missed the mark completely. We will not be returning. read more

The food is delicious, the drinks are great and reasonably priced, and the live music is what truly elevates the experience. They consistently put on fantastic shows, making it more than just a night out, it feels like a complete experience. If you want a romantic date night or a fun girls' night out, this spot is perfect for either. I've been for both occasions and had an amazing time each visit. I especially love the dark, intimate atmosphere and the energy of the crowd when the music gets going. A group of us were planning to meet at the Lincoln House for drinks and dinner. My boyfriend and I got there early and sat at the bar for Happy Hour. Excellent happy hour as drinks were $5 until 6 pm. They had food on the Happy Hour menu but since we planned to have dinner with the group, we decided to have drinks. There was a live band that sounded great but it was too loud to have conversations inside. When the group started showing up, we all went to the front patio where we were able to talk and mingle. We all continued having drinks because the conversations were so good with our high school friends. We ended up having a great night at Lincoln House and we'll be back to have dinner as we watch a band. read more

Translation...the restaurant has the ability to be a 9.5 plus...but the staff (hostess, food services and visible team), are at the Red Robin level. All that being said...I recommend this place for the live band, bar and menu offerings. Prices are at the fair to high end...the taste of food and plate presentation is very good. They have a "Speak-Easy" back room...I didn't visit this but I have a feeling that's it's more OK and nothing to wow about. $15 for two deviled eggs (two eggs cut in half), dinner salad was from Norm's restaurant class, steak with blue cheese, shrimp and mac-n-cheese was an above average...then the shrimp pasta was very good. I recommend this place, go with friends and make your own evaluation...I think most folks will really like this place. read more

Excellent experience here! Came early on a Saturday for dinner and some drinks. We were seated right away. We had a reservation but didn't need it at the time. Our server was super prompt to come over and offer water and get us some menus. She got our drinks to us pretty quick and we got right onto appetizers. We got a wedge salad to share. Shortly, after ordering, she came back for our mains and said " not trying to rush you just some people like to get on with what they want" which we really appreciate appreciated because I can't stand waiting around without someone to ask me if I'm ready. Our cocktails came and they were fantastic. I'm very persnickety about my gimlet and the bartender made it wonderful. Made it wonderful four times in fact. Our wedge salad came, and it was cold and crisp. The blue cheese dressing was very good. If I could change something, I would say it may be needed a little bit more bacon and red onion. I also really appreciated that our server (Danielle) let us know that there was egg on the salad that was not listed on the menu. I dislike egg so I'm so glad she said something. For mains we got the Mongolian beef and the shrimp linguine. Both came out pretty quickly and she timed it really well. It wasn't super busy so I can see why it came out fast but also she was just super attentive to what was going on. The Mongolian beef was crispy with tons of flavor and the rice was really good. The shrimp linguine had plenty of shrimp and a lovely lemon cream sauce. After our meals, we stayed for a little bit of the band. They seem to be a very well-rounded trio. Allegedly this old school specialty group plays everything from the 50s till now! Indeed, we heard music from the 50s and the 60s and country and roc and roll. Overall, this place was great. I've lived here basically my whole life and I've never been here since yesterday! I loved everything about it. The utility room was so cute and quaint and I'm glad you can still order dinner in there. We ordered the deviled eggs, Mongolian beef and the cajun chicken pasta. Deviled eggs and beef were so GOOD DAMN. The pasta was salty as hellllll, but it's alright! We ordered a Japanese whiskey old fashioned to was it all down, amazing! I've loved this place and have recommended it to so many people but I was incredibly disappointed the last time I went. The steak was terrible. Zero sear, zero seasoning, and dry. This location has a decent amount of parking with a walking distance, but it is very close to a residential neighborhood so parking can get a little difficult. I've been to this location twice now, the first time for a regular sitdown dinner. I started with the bacon deviled eggs, followed by the pan, seared salmon. The food was good, but the drinks were better. On my second trip here I came to the speakeasy the drinks were really good but just as in the Funhouse, the back house is also pretty tight in regards to seating. We decided to have an early Valentines dinner here at Lincoln House and had 5:30 reservations.We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in and the hostess took our drink orders. I really like the vibe in here and we even had live music with a guy playing some great 70's guitar music. Our cocktails arrived soon after and were made spot on. My Old Fashioned was great with a maple simple syrup. My wife enjoyed her Martini as well! I ordered the Short Rib entre, as I usually do whenever I find it on the menu at various restaurants. The meat was very tender and flavorful, bedded on a pile of mashed potato's and sliced, blanched carrots. I could have easily eaten another plate, which brings me to my criticism. The portion was one of the smallest Short Rib plates I've ever received. This is what led to only 4 stars on my review. I will be back again to try something new on the menu! read more

Had such a lovely night at Lincoln House with my mom! We went for a little night out and had both food and drinks. We didn't have reservations (which I'd definitely recommend because it was pretty full inside), but they were still able to seat us outside and honestly the atmosphere out there was really nice and cozy. Our waitress was very attentive the whole time, and I can honestly say the drinks were actually very good! The food was great as well and we had such a good time catching up. When a spot opened up inside, she kindly offered to move us, which was such a thoughtful touch we ended up enjoying dessert indoors. This hidden gem is a cozy, charming spot with live music that just blew me away. The vibe is like an old music house turned restaurant--beautifully intimate, with a crowd that skewed more mature, mostly 40 and up. I savored a perfectly cooked steak while surrounded by a mix of classic car enthusiasts, business people, and even old-time bikers. The whole experience--great food, live music, and that unique crowd--was just magical. I can't recommend it enough. read more

Lincoln House is a great cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of Covina. They have craft cocktails, delicious food, great service and a cool atmosphere. They even have live music every week! I love their deviled eggs (not you gramma's deviled eggs), and their Bruschetta. For drinks, the smoked Barrel Aged Old Fashioned is delicious! I must mention that Lincoln House also has a cool Speakeasy that is open Thursday through Sunday and a nice outdoor patio if you want to stay away from the live music on the weekends. This is one of the classiest bars in the Covina/West Covina area. It is not really fancy, but it is nice. Food selection is good, they have a full bar, and the crowd varies depending on the day of the week. I would say it is mostly 30's and older. I recommend to visit Lincoln House and decide for yourself. read more

Went here for my bday last night and it was a very nice time! They gave me a birthday shot out and had a good band for a Wednesday night! The food was decent though. I ordered the salmon with ceasar salad and mashed potatoes as my sides . The mashed potatoes were a bit dry but still good! The salmon was good and filling! The Caesar salad was also very good!! For my drinks I ordered the nineteenth amendment and the honeybubbles that were both decent sized and good drinks. The ambiance was perfect ! The menu has something for everyone, from appetizers, entrees, salads, and dessert. We already had dinner, so we opted for Lettuce Wraps and Calamari. I don't like overly sweet drinks, this one had the right balance of fruit, ginger beer for tartness and carbonation, plus a spicy tamarind rim for a bit of saltiness. We waited for an 8:30 reservation in the Speakeasy. It is a separate room with entrance granted with a reservation and the Password of the day. It seats about 30 guests and can be rented for a private party. I just loved the decor and furnishings to transport me back in time to the Prohibition days! The bartender was Markley, she is a professional mixologist and good storyteller! She creates her own mixers in small batches. We ordered an Old Fashion and Speakeasy Sidecar. The drink menu is written on "luggage tags" pull one from the collection and enjoy! I like this creative way of reading the menu!! The music was blaring from a Playlist that we enjoyed in the Speakeasy. The main bar had a live band performing at 8pm to closing. This was a fun night, and I can't wait to return. We walked in about 8 o'clock at night and almost every table inside was full, but we were able to find a table. The bar was full, and the band had just taken a break. The lead singer came over to all the tables and introduced herself and was chatting with everybody, which I thought was really awesome. The staff was super attentive, considering how busy they were and the drinks were good. They don't have a lot of choices on the menu, but for a bar there was enough and the food was pretty good. They have an outside patio as well, although nobody was out there. The band came back on and played until 10 o'clock and they were really good. Definitely will go again. read more

This place has been on my bucket list. I went today to celebrate a birthday and I had an incredible time. The music, food, and environment was delightful. The service was wonderful, even though they only had one waiter working all the tables. Emily, did a great job of juggling tables, being observant to everyone, and making sure their orders were correct. I had the trout, with a garden salad, a skinny margarita, and a 19th Amendment drink. Everything I ordered was good. For dessert, I got the apple cobbler with ice cream and it was hot and fresh. Very tasty. This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Covina and they have easy parking located adjacent to the restaurant. I will return to try their happy hour. Their hamburger and fries looked delicious and a lot of people ordered it. I will try it too next time. Decent-size menu with unique alcoholic drinks. The only thing I did not like was that they had only asparagus as a side vegetable. They need to add more vegetables to the menu and hire more workers. The live female musician who performs there every Wednesday was very good. She played several old-school hit songs along with her friends. We used to go on Thursday night for dinner and to listen to music, they always had the same two guys playing. The Steaks are excellent, the Mongolian beef bowl was also good. Went back last week, I don't know if they are under new management, but the prices went up about $9-10 a plate, and they had a new band playing. My husband and I have been coming to the Lincoln House for a few years now and we absolutely LOVE this place! The bartenders and servers are always kind, attentive, and make INCREDIBLE cocktails! They also have an extensive and impressive list of spirits to choose from and enjoy. Shoutout to Jennifer, one of their amazing bartenders, who is always SIMPLY THE BEST every time we come in. We praise the Lincoln House to family and friends for their consistency in delivering top notch customer service, delicious high quality food, cocktails, and the BEST HAPPY HOUR AROUND! Their cheeseburger is THE BEST IN LA, in my opinion, and ALWAYS on point!
