It's a hidden gem in Covina they are known for their ales and laggers every Tuesdays they have a burgers special which was super cool 10 plus dollars will get you a burger meal and a beer! When my wife and I went it was super slow but the environment was super laid back. The servers were super friendly and they offered us 3 free samples of tastings which was cool! I want to begin by saying this review has nothing to do with the food, drinks or service and everything to do with the owner. As a small party of 3 we walked in last night to watch the fight. One person arrived first and was seated at a small table in the corner next to a high top that had a tablecloth and reserved signs on it and was directly in front of the largest tv in the place. The other two arrived shortly after. It was about 7:00. Place was fairly empty at this point because the main event wouldn't be for awhile. From about 20 minutes into our time here my friend noticed that the owner kept complaining to staff and gesturing our way. Apparently his high top fancy table in front of the largest tv was not where he wanted to be, or better yet he did not like that we were seated in "his" space. Words were continually exchanged between him and various staff members. Props to the manager Nicole as she was taking care of our table and did not acknowledge his rude and ridiculous behavior. At one point another employee asked if we would like to move into the corner to a "better" high top table. I said no because I'm short and I'm never comfortable at those. She then asked if she could pull our table away from the wall and the owners spot into the middle of the floor. My husband asked why and she stumbled a little and finally said the owner doesn't like tables against the wall near his spot. I just couldn't believe his inappropriate behavior especially when we were there spending a good amount of money at his establishment. I basically refused and she left. The rest of the night he was shooting us looks and pacing around our area. Obviously his focus is not on customer service or satisfaction. He cares only about his own status as the owner and pitched a fit like an insolent toddler. He took my $300 with no complaints after totally ruining our experience. We came after a comedy show at the Laugh Factory, perfect place after the comedy show. We were seated at the top tables, like it said it was lively and busy, that's always a good sign. The games were on, which is good for football fans. Food was tasty, we had wings, which were sweet tasting. The empanadas were yummy, very delicate as the meat fell out of my empanada. In addition we had the Brussels sprouts. Be careful with those, they have jalapeño, I bit into it and I got a not so pleasant surprise. My friend got a free dessert because we came on her birthday month. Tasty desert. Overall, great experience, it does have a club vibe. The only thing I would suggest as an area of growth is the restroom. One of the faucets was not working when we were there, also there was only one air dryer for people to share. This review is solely on the service and environment we experienced on a Sunday. My fiancé and I wanted to watch the football game so we decided to go back and visit since we loved it so much the first time! There was no hostess working upon our arrival. At that point we realized it was self seating. Then they were short staffed. For a Sunday afternoon and a football game on, you would think they would be fully staffed. Our server was nice she came to take our order and then we come to find out they ran out of alot of beer/ alcohol. So we were limited to what we could order. From a business perspective, that is awesome you're inventory is running low since that means business is doing great! However, they should have been better prepared for a Sunday. They have a small side patio which we had a table near there. Not sure if it is a designated smoking area, there were some ladies smoking so the smoke was traveling inside the restaurant. My fiancé then got up and asked the manager on duty if we could switch tables and he said yes of corse. Well, when we went to sit down, there was another gentleman going to sit there and he said the manager told him he could sit there! At that point we decided to just leave and go somewhere else. Was super excited to try this restaurant. Read a couple of reviews but went in with an open mind. Walked in on a Saturday around 4pm and it was not too busy. The place is clean and vibrant. Beautiful decor with nice lighting. Right away the owner attended us and suggested appetizers. She was really nice and informative. For starters we tried their buffalo wings. Their house sauce was delicious and the wings cooked to perfection. Good sized wings with lots of flavor. Highly recommended. Also shared hot links with house made potato chips. Those were also a hit. Everything is made to order and packed with ingredients. My child loved her mini burger.Well cooked and presented. They have over 40 taps. That's impressive. I tried show me your melons. It's a crisp fruity beer. The pear martini was fire but hands down the pineapple grilled margarita was superb. A must try. They also have live music but we left before they performed.Once the restaurant got busy and the owner left the service got stagnant.We had to get up a few times to find someone. Also the food can take a while so be patient. It's worth the wait though. With better service and quicker food delivery this place would be a solid 5 star restaurant. Been to Bodega many times, had the wings and never been disappointed. Tonight tho I was looking for some beef, and the caveman plate looked like the meal that would satisfy that craving. I didn't take a picture, but what was delivered was not at all like the one on the website. I get it, pictures like that are meant to look good. But this plate came out and I laughed. Bar tender asked what was wrong, I said this looks nothing like the menu online. I showed him and he apologized, offered me some bread or something. I declined, I was starving and just ate it anyway. I had to order the wings just to satisfy how hungry I was. So if you all check these posts, maybe update the he picture or deliver what's shown. So our reservations were for 7.. got seated right away, waitress came by and took our order. The food didn't take long to come out, but they made several mistakes.My husband ordered a burger that came with an egg and avocado (which they decided to bring out a few minutes after separately,I got a "skinny jeans salad".. and it was missing half the ingredients the menu claimed it had... my brother in law ordered a dessert that had a side of whiskey, but they never brought until we questioned them about it....i could understand if they were busy .. but it wasn't Would not go back to eat ... but music was on point...unfortunately won't be back. read more
