Just gotta say. This bar is my favorite bar in the world. Not because of their drinks, or occasional free chili, or the eclectic crowd it brings in. It's because of the amazing bartender NATE! The dude with the beard and button up shirt! This guy knows what's up. He will make you feel on top of the world while simultaneously making you feel stupid. Hands down the only reason I go there. I know bars aren't always the cleanest but the men's restroom smelled like the entire place; as if people just peed all over the floors. This is one of the best bars in the area, i have been coming here for a couple years and it is my favorite place to go. I went here by myself last night and the owner Nathan is an absolute a*s hole. When I walked in everything was okay and he gave me drink. later he wanted me to leave cuz I looked young. Even though I showed him my ID and after he served me. I asked him why he wanted me to leave and what I did wrong he couldn't give me an answer and said "i just don't like you." I was very nice to him in the beginning but He was very rude from the start and I guess the costumers know this about him because they told me "that's how he is." he even threatened to call the cops on me. looking at the google reviews he seems like he loves to call the cops on costumers. I was kinda shocked that the owner of this place could have such an attitude and be disgusting but shoot maybe i would too if i owned a crappy ass bar. read more

I grew up in West Covina, but never frequent any of the bars in the area. I met up with a friend in Covina and Rendezvous was the suggestion made. When I first walked in, I was greeted by puffs of smoke, FABULOUS! The vibe was mellow. You can tell that this is a "locals" bar. They have no beer on tap, however, their drinks are rather inexpensive. Towards the end of the evening, rap was blaring the entire time on the jukebox, and there were tons of drunk "WOO HOO" girls. I've been around to all the dives in Covina. This one fit me best. First off, I have to say it is a matter of preference. I'm a middle aged local. I don't like crowds that go to the Chatterbox where the music is so loud you have to yell your order to the bar tender. Can't walk to the bathroom because they don't realize they are at capacity. I also enjoy a good deal, unlike the Vinos where its easily $12-20 a drink. I also expect my drinks to be nice and stiff, which excludes Katie Jakes for me. If you want a nice quiet time, friendly bartender, some local friends, and are on a budget this is your dive. read more

This bar is full of locals. I have a friend that comes here all the time so when I can't find something to do, I end up here. Be prepared to leave this place smelling like an ash tray. In high school I used to pass by this place and wonder what kind of shady people would frequent the place...fast forward some years, and I am sitting inside with lots of people from high school that I hadn't seen in ages. Mystery solved! I guess this is the kind of place where you go with your friends who still live in the area you went to high school, and then inevitably run into others who still live around the area as well (which may or may not be a good thing depending on who you run into). A nice little dive bar which is in a quiet area in Covina. I've been there twice and I enjoy the variety of people that go there. Plus, drinks are cheap which is of course a plus. Also, nice variety of music from the Jukebox and generally a nice attitude in the bar. Con's, however, are that it's indoor smoking. I was there for a bit and i got home wreaking of cigarette. I didn't realize it until I got home. But not a huge deal in my opinion because it's not so bad to the point where you can't see because of all the smoke. read more

Darts and pickle backs, what more could you ask for?! New favorite bar that's super close to my house! Nate the bartender is super nice and funny. The prices are great! I've only been on Sunday or Monday and it's never super crowded which I love! Not sure how it is on the weekends though. They have dart tournaments often and just had a special paint night! A friend of mine took me here once for a random outing to get a drink. I am a native to the area, but never have been to this place (I mostly hang out in the OC because all my friends are out there and it has an actual music scene, unlike the SGV). The people were cool. Even got a free drink from some cool new friends. The bartenders were nice. One of them even made a impromptu drink for me after I made a request for him just to make one up, and it was delicious! He even added an umbrella for me (I'm a sucker for those...). The only con was I smelled like smoke when I left and the bathrooms were smaller than my closet. But it's not a big complaint. read more
