This place was a total random date find for me, but glad I stopped in. Everything from the rowed Xmas lights on the ceiling, to the custom avant-garde wooden bar top speaks late 60s/early 70s cozy-chic to me. On top of this, the music and clientele rocks and, as a bonus, the interior is decked out in Rat Pack movie memorabilia -- apropos as the spot is, I imagine, named for the 1955 Sinatra film! He turned me on to a drink new to me ...a pistachio shot'....simple, sweet, beautiful...similar to a mudslide in taste and consistency but tajen in a shot glass. When someone says "Let's go to a Dive Bar" where do you go? Is it a "trendy" dive bar? Well the Tender Trap (The Trap) is the real McCoy. When you walk in, you walk through saloon doors into a dimly lit bar. The bartender was attentive and friendly. The mixed drinks come in the traditional rocks glasses and I saw bottle and draft for beers. They have a TouchTunes box dominated by the regulars, playing some Yacht Rock, some Country and some Sweet Caroline. If you like new stuff, bring AirPods. I went on a Thursday to do day drinking (1pm) and the crowd was older but so much fun. Everyone knows each other, lots of laughing and good times going on. They also have Hot Spot and sports on TV. Stumbled into the Tender Trap this weekend and it did not disappoint. The outside is very unassuming, but once you open that door you're greeted by 2 old school saloon style doors, and from that moment on, you know you're in for a good time! The decor was great, lots of great pictures (JFK), nice long wooden bar, and a few other tables to sit at. They had a pinball machine, pool table, a few TVs, and a jukebox for some added entertainment. Drinks were good, bartender and crowd were friendly, bathrooms were clean, and music was good! Crystal is the best bartender. I mean she's got it all! She makes bomb ass drinks, she's funny, friendly, courteous, teaches things lol and is literally Queen Crystal! Ok I love a good dive bar and the Tender Trap fits the bill. I've been coming here for a few years now and it's the usual chill place to listen to music, chit chat and imbibe a few cordials. There's a western style padded double doors and pool table. And there's an WiFi enabled jukebox for entertainment. Drinks are very reasonable. About $5 for a well drink. Literally the jukebox is pretty powerful. A number of TVs, a pool table, Giant Golden Tee machine in the corner and well you get the picture... add in some smoke, cheap drinks, a personable bartender, and a lot of interesting stories. WARNING: REGULARS ONLY! As a local I wanted to give this place a shot on a Friday night after work because of all the reviews talking about chill vibes and the pics of the place. Walked into the bar, was there about 10 minutes before I had a confrontation with some older people who apparently took offense to new customers who didn't know how the protocol worked at this particular dive bar. I decided to close my tab and leave rather than engage their drama. At that point (when we were walking out the door) they got really brave, although not quite brave enough to come out to the parking lot, which was probably a prudent decision on their part. It's a shame, because the place seemed cozy, the prices were reasonable and the bartender was prompt but unfortunately due to a few trashy people we won't be back.
