This is a tough review to write. Congregation Ale House was THE place to go before Covid. Amazing…read morebeers, delicious food, a cool hybrid restaurant setup, attentive staff with cool uniforms. The place was the sh*t. I've come here several times over the past couple years and it's more and more dead at the restaurant every time. The waitresses are absolutely dreadful. Every request is forgotten or takes 20 mins to arrive at the table. When we arrived we waited 20 mins for a waitress. We asked for some sauce, they forgot. We ordered a pizza, which was delivered to the wrong table. When we wanted to leave, the check took 20 mins as well. Now I have a crying baby and I'm waiting for them to try and split the check two ways and I eventually give up knowing that the task is too much for them to handle and just pay it all on one card. We had to track down the waitresses multiple times. It's like they have NO ability to anticipate the needs of their customers. "They ordered, pizza, maybe I should bring some plates". Nope! "They'll probably want their sauce before the food item is ICE COLD". Nope! Anytime we went into the restaurant the girls were on their phones. There were five tables in the restaurant tonight so there really was no excuse. I think this will be the last time I ever go to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the reputation of the old Congregation Ale House kept me coming back even when time after time, the service was abysmal, however, now that Congregation's former glory is thoroughly tarnished I can honestly say that I will not be coming back and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Quality like this cannot be tolerated. Travis, the former owner, would be ashamed of this fall from grace. R.I.P. Congregation Ale House

The green chilaquiles were flavorful, and th beans at the bottom were a pleasant surprise. The mac and cheese was super cheesy, and the pita bread was a interesting accompaniment. Stephanie and Lydia, co-owners, were manning the front and kitchen areas of this intimate wine and tapas bar. They're both excellent hosts, very friendly, and love to discuss their love of food and wine. It's not a huge place, with intimate indoor and sidewalk seating areas. On street parking is limited, but there are two parking lots behind the building, off the alley to the east. One lot is covered and has a handicap spot; the other lot is open. WINE: The current wine menu (see my picture) has a good selection of Latin inspired wines from Latino winemakers in Mexico, South America (Chile and Argentina), and the US. The wine list changes and as they continue to grow, they'll be adding more selections and countries/regions. Wines are sold by the glass and bottle. If you ask, they'll pour you a taste before you order to see if you're going to like that wine or not. My "Open Bottle Red Tasting Flight" was just $15 for three generous pours of Pinot Noir, Carménère, and Malbec. Glasses range from $11 - $15...very reasonable. FOOD: They offer "Bites, Boards & Platos Fuertes", which are tapas style and shareable plates that pair with your wine selection. We shared a couple of orders of the Empanadas ($15 for 3), which were baked perfectly. We tried the Beef, Chorizo & Queso, and Queso & Membrillo (Spanish cheese with quince paste...great as dessert). We also tried the Brie con Miel ($14) and the Puerto Rican Picadillo ($16) served with rice. Everything has great flavors and is quite delicious! Overall, this is a vibrant, fun little wine bar with great service, food, and vino. We're glad that they're here in the neighborhood and I can't recommend them highly enough.

The gracious hosts taught us the proper way of tasting wines. Delicious bites were paired with these wines. The lounge is quite small but there's beautiful inside seating as well as comfortable patio seating. A live band serenaded us while we were enjoying our meal and wines. Bands actually perform on select nights so call the place for inquiries. Wine tasting and paired bites are priced at a low price of only $25. Check their website to check upcoming events and booked asap because they tend to sell out fast. That's how popular this lounge and their wine tasting events are.

Jorge came outside multiple times, clearly saw how many people were waiting, and even recorded the crowd on his phone three different times for social media. Knowing the capacity of the restaurant, he could have easily informed everyone that the remaining people in line would likely not get in. Instead, we waited over three hours with no communication. While we were waiting, I repeatedly watched people call Jorge. He would come outside, greet them, and bring them straight inside. I personally saw this happen at least six different times. When it was finally our turn to speak with the host, we were told there were no seats left, that we would have to stand, and that we wouldn't even be able to order food. I confronted Jorge about letting those other groups in ahead of everyone else. His response was that he knew them personally and that they were friends of the restaurant owners. That explanation only made the situation worse. My wife had just finished a 14-hour hospital shift, and we came here hoping to enjoy the game together. Instead, we spent three hours waiting only to be treated as though our time didn't matter. What was most shocking was Jorge's attitude. He literally told me, "They won't do anything to me if you post this. I'm friends with the owner." If that's the mindset of management, it's no surprise customers are treated this way. It truly felt like only friends and family received special treatment while everyone else was left waiting without honesty or respect. I have no issue waiting when things are busy, but I do expect transparency, fairness, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience showed none of those qualities.

After months of planning, I was naturally nervous, but Bill made the whole process so much easier. He was incredibly accommodating, patient with all of my questions, and always willing to work with me to make sure every detail came together. Most importantly, he was true to his word. Everything we discussed beforehand was delivered exactly as promised, which gave me so much peace of mind. The staff was just as amazing. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that everyone was having a great time. They kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes so I could relax and enjoy such a special evening with my family and friends. The venue itself was beautiful, clean, and created the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting the space, the service, and how well everything was organized. Seeing the look on my husband's face when he walked into his surprise party is a memory I'll treasure forever, and this venue played a huge part in making that moment possible. Thank you, Bill, and your incredible team, for helping create a night our family will never forget. I would recommend this venue without hesitation and would gladly host another event here in the future.

The service was extremely slow to start--we waited a while just for water and to get drink orders taken. We ordered the Ahi tuna appetizer, which was good, but the course pacing completely fell apart after that. Our salads took 25 minutes to arrive. Before I could even get the fresh ground pepper I requested, our main courses were rushed to the table while we hadn't even started our salads. The food quality was unacceptable for an upscale restaurant: Both my wife and I ordered our steaks medium-rare. Mine arrived completely leathery, dry as a bone, and thoroughly overcooked. I didn't eat a single bite of it. My wife's steak arrived medium-well, and her side of rice was completely dry. The bottle of red wine we ordered from their very small wine list was served warm. When we declined having the steak re-fired or free dessert, we finished our wine and asked for the check. The $62 inedible steak was still on the bill, so I asked to speak with the owner. When I calmly explained the issues, the owner became angry that I didn't want the steak redone and walked away mid-conversation. He eventually came back, removed the $62 steak, and told us he didn't want us back in his restaurant. To top it off, for an establishment charging fine-dining prices where guests dress up, the owner was wearing shorts and sneakers. One chance is all a restaurant gets to make a good impression. Lincoln House missed the mark completely. We will not be returning.
