We keep trying and trying and trying. Granted, most of the time, it's take home. However, the food keeps sliding downhill and this last time, it was all so incredibly greasy that I really felt bad to put it in my body. The fries, tots, and rings were so soggy and soft that they had zero appeal. The sliders were good as usual. The kids...obviously...didn't mind anything. But the pulled pork, one of my go-tos, was so disgustingly gooped up with sauce and greasy buns that I had a hard time finishing it. We really want to love this local place but our whole family agrees that it's getting harder to do with their food just falling into the greasy diner category. I hope that changes. read more

However, my birthday dinner there with my 12-year-old daughter didn't match my past experiences. Our server, Kai, seemed inattentive throughout the meal. I had to flag her down multiple times for help, even though it wasn't a busy night. The biggest issue was at the end--we waited about 20 minutes just to get our check. I tried asking another server, but he needed her to handle it. When she finally came over, she said she needed a manager to apply a coupon, but then got sidetracked helping another table instead of resolving it. Meanwhile, my daughter was getting restless, and I eventually had to go directly to the manager myself. The manager was great and handled everything quickly. Only then did Kai re-engage. To management: when guests are finished eating, getting the check promptly really matters--it's how the experience ends. This was my second time eating at this establishment and it didn't disappoint. I met a friend for dinner on a Friday evening, and we were immediately greeted at the door and sat at our table. The place was pretty busy and had a really fun vibe. The menu has several options, and the drink menu is pretty extensive. We ordered some beers off tap, and they came out ice cold. We also ordered the calamari appetizer which had a good helping of fried calamari and was really good. For dinner I had their Crispy Chicken sandwich with steak fries. The chicken breast was nice and thick with a really good flavoring, and the fries were abundant to the point that I was unable to finish them. I will definitely be back to this restaurant. read more

We came here tonight with a group of friends (our headcount kept changing: started at 12, ended up with 9) to celebrate a friend before she heads into surgery for breast cancer. I had hoped to be organized and make a reservation, but didn't have a final number until we arrived before dinner. When I called earlier, they suggested arriving early (which we did) and I'm so glad we listened. Emily, the host, was incredibly kind and patient with our chaos. Large, fluctuating parties aren't easy, especially with a wait, but she kept us informed, comfortable, and never made us feel like a burden. She even helped us store a cake before we were seated, which meant a lot for such a special night. Our server, Taylor, was just as amazing. She fully embraced the chaos with separate checks (I know...), and she handled it seamlessly and with a great attitude the entire time. The food and drinks were great, but Emily and Taylor are truly what made the experience what it was. We came here for Sunday football & my boyfriend was in absolute heaven! He could see every game that was being played on their many TVs from his seat, he was giddy. We shared the ceviche with chips - I wasn't a big fan of this dish but my bf was happy with it. We also had the tuna melt, which was fantastic. The tuna tasted so fresh, it's mixed with the right amount of celery & mayo- melts can err on the side of being too heavy but not this one- they nailed it. The coffee was bold & flavorful, too. They took our order and it arrived pretty quick, but unfortunately our entrees arrived before our appetizers. No biggie. My wife got the BLTA. She was satisfied and it tasted pretty good. Salad was fresh and sourdough was nicely toasted. I ordered the Fish and Chips which was a specialty menu item. It was not what I expected. The fish had no taste and the fried batter was very soggy and had no taste. Safe to say the tarter sauce and the cole slaw was the only item in my plate that was seasoned. The steak fried were underseasoned as well. Disappointed. Service was great even though they were busy. But unfortunately towards the end it took a while for us to get out boxes and bill. Had to ask another employee that took our plates for extra boxes. Once we received out bill we paid and left. Don't think we will be returning here. I took my wife and son out on a Saturday night to enjoy dinner. We arrived shortly before 5 PM and had no problem getting a table and the service by the hostess was excellent. I ordered a Cadillac margarita, my wife ordered a vodka mixed drink, and my son enjoyed a sprite, the mixed drinks were ok. Although I did not include a picture we started out with an appetizer of chips and chili, mixed with salsa and cheese dip. It was GOOD but before we were able to finish the chili, we ran out of chips. My suggestion is that they give you more chips with the dip, at almost $11 bucks the chips and salsa should be unlimited. Fir dinner I ordered the short rib melt, which was delicious. A little heavy on the mayo, but still good. My wife enjoyed the prime rib dip, and my boy devoured the burger . The service was consistent, and when we ordered a couple extra rounds of drinks, they were brought to us in a timely manner. I'm happy to see that this place is doing well. I'd heard a lot of positive comments about the food, overall not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst. Portions could be a little larger. In this day and age, it is rare to see a smiling staff and excellent service, It was very common here as there was not a need to keep requesting for refills. You wanna go where everyone knows your name... Oh, wait - that was another bar! LOL! Well, everyone will at least recognize you here, at the "Mule" in Glendora! This space has been transformed from the bar business that it was before it became The Stubborn Mule, and you should thank every deity you worship for that transformation! Glendora now has a fun, local bar, that is clean (let me say that again... it is CLEAN!), where the food is better than just 'okay', the servers are friendly and has the BEST bartender: Jacquelyn. Bartenders don't get any better, anywhere. The menu items are a good variety and is typical pub-style food, but I would be SO HAPPY if they added a couple of pasta dishes to the mix. Weekly specials and soups change on Wednesdays and are creative and tasty. However, on occasion, the cooks are a bit heavy-handed with the salt, so if you're concerned about salt intake make sure to ask your server to tell the kitchen, "no added salt"; you can always add more yourself. My only complaint about the food is that the tacos are generally over-salted and the tortillas are greasy. If they could fix those two things, I'd be ordering the tacos all the time. It's nice that you can watch a variety of sports programs while munching, sipping and socializing, or ignore them and just sip and socialize. It's also great for families who can sit outside at the patio tables and watch their kids play in the section of Meda Ave. that has also been transformed into a space for family fun, with a golf putting area, games, fire pit, etc. Glendora has needed a place like the Mule for many years. It's been a year at least since we've been to this place and I remember it being a decent place to go. We returned today to meet up with a few friends and the service was exceptional. I don't know the young lady's name, the receipt says Bar A and we were there on 11/10 in the am/pm. This young lady was on top of her game and provided excellent service. Disappointed to write this considering I truly loved coming to this bar for a quick dinner and drink. We had become friendly with one of the former bartenders, Yesi, who took care of us and always treated us like family. When we had asked a bartender if she still worked there we were met with very unprofessional behavior and disrespect. Understandably if someone quits feelings may be hurt, blatantly bad mouthing someone and sharing personal information about them with guests is incredibly inappropriate. We felt uncomfortable and asked to close our check. When they realized we were defending her the bartender began to treat us poorly and we left immediately. Will never be going here again. read more
