I have lived in Covina for over 13 years, and this is truly one of the best local spots I have experienced. I am especially glad it is now in my neighborhood. I will start by saying that I am very particular about Italian food. First, the location is perfect, slightly tucked away with ample parking, a cute and inviting atmosphere, and staff who are genuinely kind and welcoming. When giving recommendations, they speak from a place of knowledge and passion for the food, which is always appreciated. We started with the focaccia and house-made butter. Oh my goodness an absolute must. The focaccia was airy and delicious, and the butter was out of this world. I could honestly eat that by itself. I also loved the pickled sweet peppers that accompanied it. The broccolini was cooked to perfection, served in a generous portion, and was somehow a vegetable that even my six-year-old happily ate. Speaking of my six-year-old, he ordered the kids' red spaghetti, which was honestly one of the best children's spaghetti dishes I have ever tasted. It was flavorful, clearly made with quality ingredients, and far exceeded expectations for a kids' meal. My husband and I shared the torchietti with pork ragù. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with a delicious, well-balanced flavor and generous pieces of pork throughout. The house-made ricotta added a rich creaminess that complemented the dish beautifully. We also had the rigatoni pesto with pistachios and burrata. The crunch from the pistachios paired wonderfully with the creaminess of the burrata, while the basil pesto tied everything together. Another delicious dish. My husband ordered a peach cocktail, which he described as perfectly balanced. To finish the evening, we shared a scoop of their house-made vanilla ice cream and a large slice of chocolate cake. The ice cream was velvety, not overly sweet, and paired perfectly with the cake. The dark chocolate provided great balance without being too rich, and although the cake appeared dense at first glance, it still had a surprising lightness to it. My girlfriend and I visited Rosalie Restaurant this week for the for the first time. Located in downtown Covina, parking is available but a little tight during dinner hour. We took advantage of the Dinner For Two four course meal for $65  (only on Tuesday and Wednesday). The corn butter with bread was fantastic. The broccolini was great just as others had said on their reviews. Any main entry you try, will be amazing too. Dessert was The Chef's Choice...Tiramisu. We both thought that it was top notch. By the time we finished our four course meal, we were definitely full. This is the restaurant that takes years to find and never want to let go of. Love that there's finally a good Italian restaurant in Covina! Our waitress was kind enough to let us know that there was 6 minutes left to order for happy hour. We decided to try their focaccia, pork meatballs, and broccolini. The yellow corn butter that comes with the focaccia was SOO GOOD! I'd love to learn how to make it. The meatballs were huge and perfect for sharing. I wasn't too fond of the flavor and don't think I'd order it again. Now the broccolini was charred to perfection and the flavors were refreshing. I would highly recommend that dish! For my main dish I went with the torchetti sans pepperoncini. The torchetti was delicious. The pasta was al dente and the burrata with the pork ragu was a nice balance. The serving was generous and I had enough for the next day. This place is an example of what a restaurant should be. The servers are wonderful, the food is of quality and the esthetics are cozy and warm. The food is Italian with a sprinkle of covinas latin touch. A local gem. I came here on a overcast evening nd enjoyed their speghetti and meatballs with a cider. What sets the speghetti apart from others is a smokey bacon flavor and a tiny sprinkle of spiciness. As an appetizer I ordered the charred octupus. Again, the Mexican influences shime through with the spiced marinade and zesty sauce, grilled onions and radishes. It was delicious and the serving size are decent, so had plenty of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. I loved that the staff will pack your food to go, and make it convient for customers. I had a lovely, delicious experience at Rosalie (Covina). I ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs ($34). It's pork meatballs, amatriciana sauce, fresh pasta, and focaccia bread. DELICIOUS!!And it's A LOT of food! I arrived at Rosalie (Covina) on Sunday (around 5PM). I had used their website to make a 5PM Reservation that same day. The online process felt easy. There's also plentiful parking. Rosalie (Covina) is located near Covina City Hall, the shared parking lot is very big. Staff is professional. They commonly use the phrase "My Pleasure," but Staff felt the most forgettable of the experience. Staff moved quickly, but Staff faded from mind like the wind. My entree arrived within 11 minutes and 22 seconds. Great pace! As mentioned, I ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs ($34). I wholeheartedly recommend!! This dish felt special and thoughtfully crafted. The HUGE, dense pork meatballs were larger than baseballs, yet they're juicy, smokey, and thick. The pasta is soft and freshly made, and dish felt hearty yet fragrant. I had PLENTY of leftovers. In addition, I ordered the Foccacia starter ($14). It's DELIGHTFUL! This bread is so fluffy, and the house cultured butter is so satisfying. Regarding ambiance, Rosalie (Covina) is clean, minimalistic, and comfortable. I appreciated the romantic, slow-tempo music. There's a dining patio and a small interior. Oh man. Having Rosalie right in my backyard is not good for my wallet. We might end up here every couple of weeks. The food is just sublime. Come during happy hour (Mondays to Thursdays) - that's what we did. We wanted to sample their fare before fully committing. The broccolini was done so well, my son who usually hates veggies couldn't get enough of it. The focaccia is dreamy - it is soft and crusty and when you tear it, makes such a beautiful sound. They offer Parmesan butter and pickled peppers along with it. The pork meatballs were a standout (but you need bread for this to mop up all that delicious sauce). The pizza was light, airy, but held up all that cheese and pepperoni so well. Alexa provided stellar service. She didn't hover but she was always available when we needed her. And she was forthright she answering our questions. She anticipated our needs so well, coming up with a bottle of water right when we needed it. All in all, this is a welcome addition to the roster of restaurants in Covina. It's a beautifully appointed space with lots of parking, delicious Northern Italian food, and top notch service. Once people learn Rosalie is owned by the people that runs Union in Pasadena, it automatically sets the expectation of delicious fresh pasta dishes. It's a casual, relaxed and cozy interior with an energetic atmosphere. The staff moves around at a fast pace and the crowd is lively, but not noisy. There is a smaller dining room by the entrance, a larger space through a doorway and a patio area. The menu has a few similar dishes to Union, like the meatballs and torchetti (based on my memory). We ordered a few pasta dishes and the meatballs as a starter. They're big and delicious as a starter. The lumache, bucatini and torchetti were all very good in their own way. One of richer than the other with different flavor profiles, but the pasta were all Al dente, with a nice chew. They were nicely seasoned without any one ingredient overpowering the others. The only thing I'd suggest is they put red peppers or freshly ground black pepper on the table. The service we received was excellent, as she was very courteous and attentive when time allowed. Sadly I forgot her name. There a huge parking lot next to Rosalie, but when we went for a weekend dinner, it was full. If you circle around a bit, a space might open up. Though there really isn't anything else for us to do around there, Rosalie was worth the drive to get very good Italian food. A few things worth noting: - Full bar, whaaat! - Ingredients are sourced from local farmers markets. Everything tastes fresh, vibrant, and seasonal. - Everything is made from scratch, which gives the menu that soulful, honest quality that's hard to fake. - The focaccia with house-cultured butter is unreal. The bread was warm, soft, and airy, but that butter stole the show. Dangerously good. - The pork meatballs were hearty, tender and flavorful. Just like what you get at Union! - The Burrata was so creamy without being heavy, and the rigatoni was perfectly cooked, holding onto the sauce just right. Ordering was easy and paced so so well. The lobster pasta was disgusting 4 people ate it and not one enjoyed it. The citrus burrata was the only thing I personally enjoyed. 5 people ordered the steak... it was tough and had zero flavor. Halibut was super dry, made me sad because I was so ready for it! The mushrooms were tasty but the portion was so small no way you can share it. 3 of us shared it and literally I think I got a stem. The spaghetti and meatballs were good the kids seemed happy with those. The Fric and Frac was delicious and was my favorite part of the meal/evening. What a bright addition to our community of Covina! Every single dish was truly amazing. I loved how tender that octopus was. It's almost unbelievably tender. Not chewy at all. The persimmon in burrata had skin on but you can eat it no problem. It was very sweet. Torchetti was al dente, pork ragu had so much flavor to it. You need to have the ice cream at the end. I was too full but still wanted something sweet so I shared a scoop of ice cream. And that was the best choice I made. That eggy, milky, rich ice cream. I can tell it's made with love! My husband and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary a few weeks ago. We brought our litto one along and wasn't sure how Rosalie was going to do with an almost 1-year old. Glad to report back we had the best dinner we've had in the area at Rosalie! The staff members are all super nice and attentive. They seem to have a lot of different wine options, I think we tried something new for my husband and I and we both loved it. We definitely ordered way more than we should've, but we were so tempted by all the options on the menu! We ended up getting the foccacia bread, charred octopus (must get), torchetti, and the rotolo (must get, but kidna oily). we loved all their pasta dishes and the pasta was so fresh! the foccacia bread was so soft, we probably ate enough for 2 meals!! (I get irritated at other places where it is so loud, you can't hear yourself think.) the decor and lighting are inviting and cozy. The service and staff are attentive and warm. They pay good attention to detail. I do wish that they offer table bread as much of the items are seasoned well and can be borderline salty without bread to accompany it. That being said, the quality of the focaccia pizza are absolutely fabulous. They do the pastry side of the menu so very well. The meatballs (happy hour menu) and the steak, as I mentioned before are very well seasoned, but i would order pasta, bread, or the fingerling potatoes to help mellow the flavors a bit. As a big fan of Italian food, I was really excited to try this new local spot that opened up! Upon walking in, my first impression was of the great ambiance. It is a nice looking restaurant with a great vibe, much like a restaurant you would find in LA on smaller scale. They were able to accommodate us with a short wait despite not having a reservation and being quite busy! The food was spectacular! They recommend ordering family style, but the dishes aren't especially large. One dish can yield a decent size portion for 2-4 people assuming you order more than one dish. Our server shared that they recommend ordering family style because they have a small kitchen and can't guarantee that they can get all the dishes out at the same time for a table. The Spaghetti & Meatballs were my favorite, and the meatballs were very large! The Rigatoni pesto was good as well, but almost seemed to have a lemon-like undertone that I couldn't quite place. Sadly, the service was somewhat lacking. Our server hardly checked on us, and they forgot to bring the Focaccia bread that we ordered. We didn't get to bring it to their attention until the end of our meal when they came back to ask if we wanted to order dessert. They apologized for forgetting and said they were busier than anticipated. Weirdly, the prices on my bill were different than the menu prices, with some items being a few dollars cheaper and others being more expensive. Everything was amazing. I sat at the bar and Gianina was my server and bartender. She was the best and made an excellent Nero martini. It was so good that I already want to come back and try more drinks next time. For food, I had the pork meatballs and the striped bass and everything tasted incredible. Their menu rotates with the seasons and they mentioned they adjusted the bass for fall flavors. What really blew me away was the squash that came with it and how well it complemented the fish. The fish itself was great, but the squash was so good I wanted to lick the plate clean. They source ingredients from local farmers markets, so the menu changes often, which makes me even more excited to come back once it rotates again. Service was amazing overall. An amazing experience celebrating my best friend's birthday. So glad that we chose to check out this brand new restaurant. Service was amazing and parking was a breeze. The space is beautiful albeit a bit chilly at night but the delicious meal and creative menu more than made up for it. We started with the brussel sprouts and loved this dish! We're so used to small, roasted portions whenever we order this elsewhere but Rosalie was generous and the dish was flavorful. It paired well with the pasta and main we ordered as well. The pasta we ordered was the torchetti that had a delicious pork ragu with ricotta. This was a super creamy delicious with a little bit of tang. It was just slightly too salty for my taste but well balanced with the brussel sprouts. Lastly we shared the Murray farms chicken which was super moist and paired with a gochujang mole that added a nice tang. This was a bit too sweet for my friend and we wish more roasted parsnips were included to balance the dish. Overall, Rosalie is generous with their portion sizes and the service was incredibly warm. They also gave a complimentary horchata ice cream dessert for my friend's birthday and just overall was an incredible experience. Dropped in for dinner on Saturday night. Easy reservation through Resy, and glad I did because this place was packed at 7. Hughe parking lot next to the restaurant is a big plus. Was honestly surprised with this level of dining in Covina. Creative menu with a high level of execution. If you like Italian food with Latin American and some Asian flavors, Rosalie's is cooking. Highlight was probably the pasta (probably made in house), but every dish was a hit. Cocktails were unique, loved the riff on the negroni with Italian bergamot liquor, and the clever combinations for the free parking which tasted like Mexican watermelon candy with tajin and chamoy. Service was on point all night. Our main server (sorry man forgot your name) amazing, very attentive but not overbearing. Multiple staff had checked on us throughout the meal and everyone was so kind. Price point is very reasonable in this economy. Logan greeted me, Natalie was our Server, she made recommendations on some of her favorites. Marco was the Bartender, he recommended the Frick & Frac cocktail (Gin, Orangecello, Lemon Juice, Orange Bitters). This drink is all about Covina! The name is for the shuttle service that stops at the restaurant. The Orangecello was chosen for the orange logo of the city and its history of orange groves. My second drink was the Rosalie Sour (Mezcal). Rosalie in Covina is definitely the glow-up Covina didn't know it needed. The vibe is adorable -- think date night chic meets "finally, somewhere local that isn't a chain." Love that for us. The food is family-style, but don't get it twisted, this is not Cheesecake Factory-level sharing - this is more "refined share plates" than "three meals in one sitting.". The pork meatballs were the stars of the night -- two huge, flavorful ones in a rich red sauce. The charred octopus had good flavor, but a few bites were overcooked and tougher than I'd like (that green sauce though? 10/10 would bottle it). The lobster pasta had nice flavor too, but the lobster portion was shy and the pasta a bit too al dente -- like it needed another 45 seconds in the pot. Service was friendly but... a little MIA at times. Our server was sweet, but it felt like we were playing hide-and-seek for refills and dessert menus. At one point, they cleared the table, asked how everything was, and then disappeared into the void for a solid five minutes. Overall, I can see what Rosalie is trying to do -- it's giving DTLA THAT GIRL RESTAURANT ENERGY-- but it needs a bit more refinement in both food execution and service pacing. I used to love Giovanni's and was super sad they closed. Rosalie is a great addition to downtown Covina! Same layout as Giovanni's except the outdoor area is now sealed off by glass. Service was attentive and with reservations we were seated right away! Here's the food we ordered: -Focaccia bread 10/10 crispy and super warm. The butter it came with was delicious. -Pork Meatballs 10/10 These are two baseball sized meatballs! We didn't even finish them but they were delicious. -Roasted carrots 10/10 amazing veggies. -Caccio e Pepe 8/10 great but not life changing. -Sea Bass 8/10 sea bass was ok but the veggies on which it was served made all the difference. Located in downtown Covina, this Italian-inspired restaurant is tucked away on Italia Street and feels like a hidden gem. Be prepared to spend--the menu is definitely on the pricier side, and with so many beautiful-looking dishes, it's easy to want to order everything. The restaurant itself is dimly lit and creates a really nice atmosphere for a date night or special celebration. However, the second time we visited, we came on a much busier night and noticed a big difference. We were seated next to a party of four, and because the tables are placed very close together and the dining room is fairly small, it became very loud. It made conversation a little difficult and felt a bit uncomfortable when trying to talk across the table. The food, however, was a completely different story. Our first visit, we ordered the King Salmon Crudo, Focaccia, Rotolo, and their pear dessert served with ice cream. The King Salmon Crudo was incredible--we loved it so much that we ordered it again on our second visit. The Focaccia was also amazing and honestly a pleasant surprise. The Rotolo, however, was a miss for us. It looks similar to a cinnamon roll but is filled with something closer to a spicy birria-style filling. We both found it too spicy and not very enjoyable. I even took the leftovers home but couldn't bring myself to finish it. On our second visit, we ordered the Rigatoni, King Salmon Crudo, Broccolini, and Lumache. The Broccolini was new to the menu and came with a delicious cilantro jalapeño pesto that made the dish stand out. The Lumache was my favorite dish of the night. I only wished there had been more than six pieces of lobster, but it was still absolutely delicious. The Rigatoni was also very good. I personally wasn't a fan of the pistachios in the dish, but my partner enjoyed it a lot. Where do I start?! This was our second visit. Decided to have our Valentines date local. Small intimate place. We had our reservation for 5 and were seated right away. Our server named Rosie was so amazing! We started with a drink called the Pineapple Shorty. Delicious! I never order a second round so my husband was surprised I did this time. For Appetizers we ordered the focaccia which is a must! Charred octopus! Yummy! Always a favorite of ours. Probably the best I've had anywhere. The first time we came we had the Lumache and Rotolo. is such a great addition to Covina, especially if you're craving good Italian without having to leave the area. The pasta and pizza are the stars here. The pastas come out perfectly cooked with rich, well balanced sauces that actually cling to the noodles, and the portions are generous and satisfying. You can tell they're putting real care into the recipes because everything tastes fresh and comforting instead of heavy. The pizzas are just as solid. Great crust with the right texture, good sauce to cheese ratio, and quality toppings. It's the kind of pizza you keep reaching for even when you're already full. The cocktails were a really nice surprise too. Well made, balanced, and not just an afterthought, which makes it easy to turn dinner into a full night out. Overall it's just nice to have a spot like this in Covina. Good pasta, good pizza, good drinks, and a space that feels like a proper sit down neighborhood restaurant. Dinner at Rosalie is a fun and enjoyable experience. The dining room is modern, clean, and inviting, and the restaurant also features a welcoming patio with live music that adds energy without being so loud that it interferes with conversation. The menu is small, thoughtfully curated, and clearly driven by seasonal ingredients. We began with the focaccia, octopus, and burrata citrus salad. All three appetizers were excellent, but the standout was the focaccia--super fluffy with a perfectly crunchy top. The octopus was impressively tender and well seasoned. The burrata paired with a medley of citrus was bright and refreshing. The kitchen initially forgot to add the glacéd kumquats listed on the menu, but once we mentioned it to our waitress the oversight was immediately corrected. For our mains, we ordered the chicken and the cacio e pepe pasta. The chicken was very tender, nicely seasoned, and had beautifully grilled skin. It was served with a cilantro ají sauce reminiscent of a Peruvian ají mojo that added a vibrant layer of flavor. The cacio e pepe pasta was cooked nicely al dente; however, it was served with more sauce than is typical for the classic Italian preparation. Dessert was a mixed experience. The chocolate cinnamon roll is enormous and comes bathed in Mexican chocolate sauce. While the roll itself was delicious, the sauce needs some refinement--the sugar had not fully dissolved and left a noticeable grainy texture. The budino was unfortunately less successful. It arrived with a ganache quenelle on top that was dense and greasy rather than light and creamy. The pudding itself had a pleasant texture but was noticeably oversalted, almost as if the seasoning had been misjudged. Service throughout the evening was efficient, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant also offers a strong cocktail program and an interesting wine list. Overall, despite a few minor issues, the experience was very enjoyable and we look forward to returning to Rosalie. read more

First time here. I want to keep this place a secret, but also gotta give these folks their flowers. I went here on Friday with an old friend to catch up after not having met for months. Ambience 4/5- Patio area was comfortable and peaceful. It was perfect for having a conversation over a meal. Indoor seating was an echo chamber, just not my preference. Service 5/5- water always filled, attentive, but not intrusive. They know their way around. No notes. Food 4.5/5- Focaccia with the giardiniera and butter is a must. Crust was light and crisp and the peppers were crisp and tangy. Strawberries on goat cheese was delicious for this season (and I hate goat cheese). Carrots with labneh and tajin 4/5 because I get what they were trying with the tajin, but I don't think the lime tang was right for that dish. Cacio e pepe 5/5. No notes. 3 starters and one pasta entree was filling for the two of us. We had to pass on dessert . Will return. read more

If you don't know Italian food, this is a good spot to eat mid Italian food. I do admit they have a great variety of pastas, but I was craving some focaccia bread and noticed the spaghetti and meatballs had some. I was looking forward to eating my pasta with a focaccia bread, and to my disdain it was 2 pieces of baguette with butter. The waiter said: "yeah... that's focaccia bread". A simple google search would've shown that it wasn't the case. Don't advertise something and give the customer something else. That's false advertisement. read more

Stumbled on this spot and it turned out to be a hidden gem. We've lived in the neighborhood for a few years now and can't believe it took us this long to try it. The food and cocktails were both delicious. Staff really knew their stuff and gave some great recommendations. Decided to try this new place and thought there wouldn't be that much people here yet but it was decently packed! We used our Amex Resy credit here and it did not disappoint! FOOD: The apps were great! We had the tuna tartare with a Thai influence so I really liked the coconut taste to it, I just wished it came with chips. The focaccia bread and butter was so good and warms the soul. The striped bass was too plain for me but it was a good portion! The Torchetti pasta that my husband got tho was pretty good and has the classic meat pasta taste Drinks were themed but we only got wine so we didn't get to taste the cocktails.
