From the moment I sat at the bar, the staff was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely focused on making sure I was satisfied throughout the evening. I started with an incredible appetizer featuring several varieties of fried mushrooms paired with red wine--absolutely delicious and full of flavor. For my entrée, I enjoyed the shrimp pasta with white wine sauce, which was perfectly prepared and tasted authentic and fresh. To finish the meal, I had the apple crust dessert topped with vanilla ice cream, and it was the perfect ending to an outstanding dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Stopped by and a gentleman at a table waived/invited us in. Sat at a table. Older gentlemen (not sure if he is the owner/manager) came out and was very cold, curt, borderline rude telling us the kitchen was closed and to leave. How were we to know at the time they were closing the kitchen? No signs were posted outside. We only came in because his pal waived us in. An honest mistake on our part. I was reluctant at first. We walked in and the server asked if we had a reservation. We said no. He hesitated then said he could sit us at this little table right in front of the door. Well, okay. We were there and we were hungry. It's a small place with big attitude. Great vibes, low lighting, cozy seating. We sat down and browsed through the menu. The server came over and said he'd move us to a bigger table. THANK YOU! We finally decided on food. We all had crab cakes appetizers. I had the spicy honey pepperoni pizza and Cesar salad. Coworker had the peso buco with risotto, and the other had the lasagna. We had some fresh rosemary rolls while we waited. Everyone was very satisfied with their food. The girls decided to have desert which we all shared. Tiramisu and cannolis. I don't care for tiramisu so I just had a little taste. I did enjoy a cannoli. I stopped by for lunch with the family on Sunday after looking for a new Italian restaurant to try. I came across Pane e Vino and hadn't heard of it before, so we decided to give it a go. The ambiance was nice, albeit we got there when they opened and it's a small place so it was pretty quiet. The man who grabbed our drinks was very stoic but friendly. Our server was helpful for my aunt, who is pretty picky. She did end up getting the chicken parmigiana, and loved it. The complimentary focaccia was perfect. I got an iced tea, but I was disappointed. The flavor was veryyyyyyy subtle. On the flip side, I also ordered the fusilli melanzane, and it was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The smoked mozzarella was the perfect touch on this dish, and I would honestly come back for that alone. My family also ordered a pepperoni pizza, which my sister liked, but the crust was okay. The size was great for 1-2 people. They also ordered the farfalle I believe and my mom and grandma really liked it. We tried rhis place because we got a credit from an event. The pizza was yummy authentic Italian. And their lobster noodles so yummy too!

We tried. Not once, not twice, three times to find some redeeming qualities in this restaurant. They get star for the pizza because it was food and a star for the tortellini because it was decently portioned. Even in the pictures on yelp the food is lacking in consistency. Anyhow. I got the octopus salad that was on special. The price point was $22, so I figured it was a dinner sized salad, wrong. I got a 1/4 cup of some spring mix a couple chopped tomatoes and a tiny portion of octopus. The octopus was probably an 1/8 of an ounce in edible parts. It wasn't charred it was destroyed. Overcooked beyond repair. I laughed because I thought it was a joke. The bus boy grabbed my plate right as I was finishing my last bite. I was like whoa give me a minute to figure out what I just spent $22 on. I got a teeth whitening treatment because charcoal is good for your teeth. Next, my daughter got 6 raviolis. They were whatever. $17.50, I think. My husband got tortellini and the bus boy almost grabbed the plate off the table before we were finished. At that point I said absolutely not don't take that plate, it's food! We need food! The pizza was decent, but nothing I would ever come back for. It played like a cheese pizza with red onion even though it was their chorizo/fennel. I don't understand the business of this restaurant. It must be for people who just don't know good food. I'm embarrassed for them. I'm a local and it's unfortunate that I have to cross them off the list. I just feel bad because I got the sense that they really think that they are serving great Italian food. It's sad. If the food was great, you would have people waiting because your restaurant is tiny. I have been to busy hole in the walls that are delicious, and worth the wait. Pair all this with the rushing, jerky bus boy and we will just never be back. Dine at your own risk. I'm now at home cooking a real dinner. read more

My wife and I visited this Italian restaurant for the first time and we truly enjoyed the experience. Upon entering, we were met and greeted by Paul the waiter whom would later reveal that this is a family owed restaurant and he is the brother of the owner. Paul the waiter was absolutely awesome! He is extremely friendly, super funny (belongs on stage across the street at the Laugh Factory), knowledgeable of the entire menu and he made dining here a fun experience. Service from Paul and the entire staff was top notch and greatly appreciated. Now for the food in one word, DELICIOUS!! My wife had a Margherita pizza which I ended up eating half and I ordered the Penne Alla Vodka. Both food items were well prepared, fresh and tasty. I am not usually one for ANY type of pasta and/Italian food in general bcos I tend to gain weight simply by looking at the food but I made an exception and I had no regrets whatsoever. I hate to say this because I love pasta but the vongole was not good. I felt like I could taste the ocean with every bite so I couldn't finish my dish. I tried the clams and they were alright but there was no flavor from the white wine or really anything. I was offered some penne alla vodka and even that one had an odd flavor. The redeeming part of the meal was the complimentary garlic bread which quickly disappeared from my table. I pretty much ate some of the cucumber salad and then called it a night. My husband has brought me here a few times and every time I leave, it reinforces my belief. And after the last visit I consider it to be my last. The nonprofit I work with was hosting a 30 person luncheon and Pane e Vino put together an amazing lunch for us. We were allowed to customize our own menu that included gluten free options as well as their famous Meatballs which need their own review because they were that delicious. The meatballs were juicy, a great size, seasoned deliciously, but still tasted clean and homemade. They really elevated the simple penne with marinara we opted for. The bread rolls were decadent and super homey, not sure but they almost tasted homemade. Pick up was seamless and everyone really enjoyed the dish and fresh Italian salad. Stumbled into this place because my friend and I was craving Italian food and her go to spot was closed. There was nobody inside when we walked in so we were a little skeptical but we decided to give this place a shot. The waiter was super nice, helpful, and funny. As time passed more people started coming in to dine. We ordered the calamari, Vongole and the Piggy Pizza to share. Food was made quickly and it was pretty good. The calamari was fried perfectly and paired well with the aioli sauce. The pasta was our favorite part, you can taste the fresh clams and the wine. The pasta was al dente as it should be and we devoured the dish. Our biggest let down was the pizza, it seemed very undercooked and the toppings were still cold. You know when you pick up a slice of pizza and all the toppings with the cheese slide off? That is what happened, there was no crust at all and no grip. We could see the dough still that had no color to it, but we werent too bothered to complain about it. Recently to Pane E Vino or a date night. Always welcomed with smiles and a media seating. The scallops were delicious, freshly grilled on a bed of arugula. The best appetizer for sure the Burrata was super delicious! Prosciutto Pizza by far the best pizza i have ever tasted. Lasagna Bolognese was good but the Bolognese pasta was way better i think ill stick to the original lasagna recipe. The Chicken Alfredo pasta was a special request they did not have on the menu but they nailed it and it was.really good! The chicken Parmigiana was tasty for sure will definitely come back again! Only questionable dish was the cesar salad not pictured, the anchovie taste was over powering and ruined it for the whole table. Missed out on the cannoli but im definitely coming back for it. The service was great our waitress.was amazing and helped us with any special requests. The place is fairly small yet very cozy and inviting. Worst part: I just saw my receipt from my only visit here from a couple of weeks ago... they apparently charged me a $25.00 "cake fee." Upon seating, the waiter OFFERED to keep my party's small birthday cake in the back. He failed to tell us there was a fee. In fact, I've never even heard of a freaking CAKE FEE. The waiter later brought the cake back to us -- outside of its box, gave us plates, forks, and a pastry knife for us to cut it ourselves. He lit the candle (as I was taking out my own lighter), literally sang "happy birthday to-" and then took off to the next table. And two people in our party were repeat customers. Not cool. The pizzas from this restaurant saved me. I was starving since this morning and got three with a friend. Once we took a bite... wow! The crust is soft inside, crispy out, and not hard nor burnt like other places. The sauce, cheese, and meat toppings have a perfect balance of flavors (great for drinking with wine).
