Had reservations last night at 6 PM. Easy parking behind the restaurant. The restaurant is on a high energy and vibrant street. Walked inside to a quaint and cozy restaurant. Live the vibe. Meatballs were average in taste - nothing special, and ok size and quantity. However some of the meatballs were much cooler than others, not equally heated. Bread was very soft and tasty. Cheesecake with strawberries was ok but for the price, size seemed very tiny. Overall, atmosphere and server were great but I came to rate the food, which was average. I am pretty picky, and this place superceded any expectations I had. The service was great l, efficient, and everything was delicious. Hubby and I split plates as we wanted to try each other's food. The portions are just right, not too big or small, but very filling. We got the tortellini with chicken, rigatoni with house sausage, and the caprese salad. I passed by this place every single day but never had a chance to try it. Our friends picked this place for one of our dinner gatherings, and then we fell in love with it. This place isn't big but is very cozy, and the waiters are very friendly. You can tell they build good relationships with all the customers and talk to them just like friends. The menu is very concentrated; that's how you know it's authentic. We ordered two pasta dishes and one pizza. You can tell the pizza dough was hand-kneaded, nothing fancy. That's how it's supposed to be for an authentic pizza. The kids loved the pizza and kept asking for more. The clam pasta was great, with a taste very similar to those I tried in Venice, Italy. We definitely needed to drench it in the dipping sauce so we can eat it. The Farfalle was just okay. The pasta did not taste fresh and the toppings were just basic. I personally do not feel that it was worth $18. The piggy pizza was a little burnt. It was pretty pricey for what you get. So far my favorite Italian restaurant Pane E Vino does not miss a beat. I've been coming here for years now food & quality is amazing. The wait here can be pretty long at times but they always remind you food is made from scratch so you know they're cooking with passion back there. My go too is the lasagna, saffron arancini, & burrata all delicious dishes with tons of flavor. Don't be fooled by the size or location of this spot I've been to fancy Italian restaurants such as Rothschild's Restaurant & Aruffo's Italian Cuisine & still don't compare to Pane E Vino.
