First time trying this new, local eatery featuring French/Latin fusion fare. It's right up the street from the very best Glendora has to offer, Speakeasy Friday at Coco Vino so I thought it wise to give the new kid on the block a try before enjoying some wine & jazz. Joined by two longtime friends, one of which resides in Paris part time, we were all pleased with the service and food we sampled. My Parisian pal began with a plate of escargot. He assured me that Gabacho had done an excellent job preparing the dish. Certainly, the presentation of the dish was quite inviting. I was content to take his word for it but when pressed to try one, I sampled the escargot and was delightfully surprised at the pleasant taste, and texture! Meanwhile my other friend and I tried soup appetizers. He had the tomato, I ordered the French onion. My friend remarked that his tomato soup was delicious. For me, the French onion was very good, if not the best I've had. Seems every restaurant has a slightly different take on this classic standard. Photos of our appetizers will be included with this review. However, for some reason I did not take any photos of our 3 main courses. Perhaps it was because we were too enamored with the meal?! Anyway , suffice it to say we were happy with our choices. I had the pan roasted chicken breast. It was quite tasty. My Parisian paisan had the Salmon A La Almendra. He was pleased. Our 3rd party guest had the Pasta De La Mer much to his delight. The service was standard and acceptable on every level. With two friends visiting from out of town I could not be happier with the choice I made to give Gabacho a try.

The food here is phenomenal. I'm not a fan of Blu cheese but now I am because of Le Port burger The service here at Gabacho was excellent. Quick and was helpful in choosing what to order. The dinning room is beautifully lit with a worming welcoming light , nice jazz playing from hidden speakers. I definitely will be back very soon

New to the area. We tried it, and it was just ok? For the price point, it's a bit over priced. The food was half and half, in regards to there are bits we liked and bits we didn't like. We got the chicken mushroom, the chicken with mushroom sauce was great! The side of potatoes and super dry salad was just ok. Not worth the price, I would want like a bougie salad but was just a plain salad. The potatoes were like scalloped potatoes, it was small and generic. We also got this seafood pasta. The seafood was cooked well, but gave the tiniest piece of salmon with no skin. The cream sauce was so watery and the pasta was bland. Again, not trying to be that person but for that price point maybe fresh pasta or something. The dessert dish leveled it out. We got the crème brûlée French toast, that was superb. It was done well to where you don't even realize they used a French baguette as the toast instead of the usual brioche. I would recommend this dish. Because of this dish, we thought about maybe coming and giving a second shot at the breakfast because half the menu seemed like breakfast. Restaurant was clean, staff was nice and tentative. Manager was very active to some of the other tables. All in all, I don't think it's worth the price.

great new spot at the end of the downtown glendora strip. Got the lemon salmon with au gratin potatos. great food and a nice interior and sidewalk patio seating make this the perfect date night spot. friendly staff. Good to see a new place in town that does not disappoint.

Gabacho in Glendora Village is such a great addition to the area. The restaurant is beautiful inside with a welcoming, upscale vibe that works for both brunch and dinner. We started with an Arnold Palmer and strawberry lemonade both refreshing and well balanced. For food, the mango goat cheese salad was fresh with a nice mix of sweet and tangy. The Vache sandwich was the standout for me super soft, juicy steak with a rich mushroom sauce that brought everything together perfectly. The La Diabla pasta was also flavorful with a nice kick. We ended with the French toast, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside definitely a great way to finish the meal. Overall, a really solid dining spot with unique flavors. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

Omigosh, EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD! A little pricey, but scrumptious. The ambience is lovely in a bougie way. Everyone in our party of 7 loved what they had. FYI, if you're going for frog legs I'd call and check first... I believe it's no longer on the menu

The ambiance was nice. The food was good both taste and presentation. Service a bit slow since there weren't many diners but it was only a small inconvenience. Would recommend and will most likely be back.

Great new restaurant in the area. Had the vache sandwich which is ribeye with a mushroom sauce and brie. Very good flavor and the bread was crunchy yet soft. Also had the crepe with crab and shrimp. Also very good. Owner was super sweet and made us a sweet crepe dessert on the house. Will definitely be going back to try the other items.

Made it out to Gabacho for their opening day dinner!!! Absolutely beautiful revamp on what was Glendora's Village Eatery location! Loved the warm lighting and decor and the beautiful wall murals. Would've preferred some sort of French café inspired music for the ambience, but instead we were listening to what sounded like wedding dinner music. He got the chicken breast plate with mushroom and it was plated beautifully!! The au gratin was delicious, but lacked a lil seasoning. The salad could of used more dressing. I ordered the carbonara pasta and it was rich, and creamy, with the egg yolk to mix in to my pasta. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive! And we enjoyed being greeted by Nelson, as well as Chef David! Been stalking Gabacho for awhile now on INSTAGRAM and I look forward to coming back for breakfast soon!!! Welcome to Glendora Gabacho!!! You were delicious!!!

This place just opened on Thursday, and having lived in France. We wanted to come and check out the quality of the food and whether it really is true French style. We were very excited as the quality of the food was excellent, the service was on point and the management were regularly walking around, asking for feedback and checking in on customers. It was a wonderful experience, and the ambience was very nice for families, couples for all types of occasions. This place serves breakfast, brunch and lunch. There's a great choice on the menu! My only wish is that an Oat Latte should not cost $8.49, that is too much for a local restaurant.

When I say "wow," I truly mean it. This venue is absolutely stunning, definitely picture perfect with amazing service that enhances the entire experience. The atmosphere gave us nothing but a warm feeling. Their food was outstanding, fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. I was especially impressed by their fresh squeezed orange juice. As someone who genuinely appreciates high quality orange juice, I was initially hesitant after reading a less favorable review. However, I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations and was among the best I've ever had. I look forward to returning again soon.

A wonderful addition to downtown Glendora that we were excited to try. We dined on a beautiful Friday night. The patio was full and a musician was playing. Inside the decor was comfortable with private booths in green, a green flowered mural on one wall, and a tree of leaves moving up the ceiling - though fake, was well executed. Pleasant music played in the background. The service was well-timed with someone greeting us immediately and water served promptly. We brought our own wine and there was a reasonable corkage fee. The dinner was delicious. I had the Risotto Del Mar and my husband had the Halibut. We are looking forward to our next visit. My only suggestion to the owners is to serve the bread before the meal (vs with). It also could benefit both businesses if a wine deal was struck with Coco Vino down the street.

Gabacho is a French / Latin American restaurant in Glendora, California. Gabacho has a very comfortable atmosphere with soothing background music and is a great place to carry on a conversation. The owner and chef, David, was warm, welcoming, and very friendly, as well as all of the other staff members. We had the escargot appetizer and the artichoke dip. The escargot, which is one of my favorite dishes, was cooked in garlic, butter, lemon, and parsley. It was awesome. If you've never tried it, try it! And if you had it anywhere else and didn't like it, keep in mind not every place that serves escargot knows what they're doing. Gabacho, in Glendora, California, is not one of those places! The flavors were awesome. The escargot was tender, not chewy, the best I've had in recent memory and a very long time. The artichoke dip was also tasty and served with tortilla chips; however, I believe it pairs better with the bread that they serve. I wanted to try the frog legs. Yes, they have that as well, but they were out. I plan on trying the frog legs next time I go. The two entrées that we ordered were the chicken breast with the piccata madeira and mushroom sauce and the risotto de la Mer with fresh salmon, scallops, and shrimp in the De La Mer sauce. Both entrées were delicious, presented with a touch of class fit for a king and/ or queen. The portions were perfect at what I believe to be a very reasonable price. Another patron had ordered the ribeye steak with salad, and oh man, did that look good! I totally plan to return and try several more of the menu items. Gabacho's is my new favorite place.

The owners added to the warmth of the space genuinely welcoming, the kind of presence that makes a place feel personal rather than polished-for show. The sea bass was the standout: perfectly crisped skin, buttery and delicate underneath, resting over earthy lentils that soaked up every bit of flavor. Paired with a smooth Malbec, it all came together effortlessly. But honestly, the best part of the night wasn't just the food or the wine. it was the company. The soft candlelight, a shared table, and her next to me made everything taste better. A spot that feels intimate without trying too hard. Definitely coming back.

Some highlights of the dinner were the escargot, duck pate (super gamey if you like it like that), and the green peppercorns on the entrecôte. The filet mignon was also super tender and paired nicely with the blue cheese. Other things we got were the steak tartare, short rib ravioli, duck confit pasta, and the mussels. Although yummy, everything felt like it lacked salt. We were excited for the duck confit pasta, but it was lacking a rich creamy sauce like that on the short rib ravioli. The mussels are cooked in a soup that was milkier than other places, which although yummy, threw us off a bit. Overall, it has a nice ambiance and vibes, but the food we had was very subpar. Considering the prices of the appetizers, tapas, and entrees, the portion sizes were very small (I am aware that French cuisine has smaller portions already). Service was excellent and our server was very attentive to our party throughout the night.

The duck prosciutto was good but sadly only one small slice was provided. - French Onion Soup (4/5): Very hearty and warm dish to start the course. My gf preferred a stronger onion flavor but I found it fine. - Branzino et Ratatouille (4.5/5): Perfectly cooked fish, with distinct aromas from the vegetables and spices. The skin was crispy, but it would have been nicer if it was evenly crispy. Overall very flavorful and a good lighter dish option than the steak frites - Steak Frites (5/5): Ordered this medium rare and was not disappointed. Perfectly cooked and super juicy. The outside of the steak was nicely seared giving it a nicely crisp texture with richer flavors too. Paired super well with the sauce which had a distinct mushroomy flavor to it in addition to the peppercorn. Fries were very generous and crispy. - Creme Brulee (4/5): The Creme Brulee was a bit more runny than we were used to but the flavor was perfect. Breaking through the caramelized sugar was super satisfying. - Cheese Board (3.5/5): Pretty simple cheese board with bread, a fig jam, some nuts, and 2 cheeses. I enjoyed the triple cream cheese a lot as it paired very well with the bread and jam. Overall (5/5): We booked a reservation here on a Friday evening for DineLA back in early Feb but didn't get to posting this till now. The restaurant was pretty vibey and perfect for a date night. We were seated in the corner by the entrance making it feel more private than the other seats in the room, which was nice. It wasn't too loud either. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was very well executed, although at this price range we'd hesitate to try the regular menu. Overall, a very solid experience I'm glad we had!

During my first visit, the service was great and I tipped generously -- around 40% -- especially since it's the holiday season. Unfortunately, tonight was very different. The service was poor from the start. The waitress handled my drink by placing her fingers directly on the rim of the glass, which made me uncomfortable and raised hygiene concerns. When it came time to pay, I covered the entire table's bill and, despite the service, still left a 40% tip. What truly bothered me was what happened next. After processing the payment, the waitress thanked only the white woman at our table and never acknowledged me or my mother -- despite the fact that I paid the entire bill. That moment felt dismissive and, honestly, discriminatory. It's disappointing, because everyone else seemed pleasant and the atmosphere is otherwise enjoyable. Like in Paris, they do not do doggie bags (nor take-out containers of any kind) The spirit of French dining is alive and well here, except for the fact they do not serve wine or beer (I didn't ask if it was byob or if there was a corkage fee). La Vie has been on the corner of Fern and San Gabriel as long as I can remember. When looking for eats in the SGV, Asian food comes to mind but French food from the Julia Child days?? La Vie serves up classic -- almost kitschy -- french dishes, smack dab in the middle of the SGV: coq au vin, escargots, duck l'orange, etc. I've had an itch for steak au poivre for a while, and the featured photo on their Yelp profile beckoned (kudos to the photographer!!) I ordered their L'entrecote aux Trois Poivres -- sirloin steak with black, green, & pink peppercorn sauce. Entree includes soup of the day and a simple iceberg salad. Also, coffee if you want it. Their sides of the day-- sautéed snow peas, scalloped potatoes, and carrot purée, were also really tasty as was the soup. Pretty sure the beef was "choice", not "prime", but it was prepared really well and with care. I'm also pretty sure the cut was New York, not sirloin. The ambiance is equally nostalgic and kitschy and homey. Like the cuisine and the restaurant, this place doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't.
