Disappointing. Let me start by saying i'm a nobody that lives locally and wants to see local business' succeed. That being said, I gave them 3 stars instead of 2 because I know they're fairly new to Glendora and still have to work out some kinks. I was there with my family and I ordered the vaquero burger. You can look up their menu to see what's on it for context. If I took a rubber band ball, put in a shoe, then put it between two pieces of bread, that's how hard it was to chew this thing. Yes, i'm exaggerating a little because i have no idea what that would taste like, but if your family can hear you struggling to pull apart the meat when you take a bite. There's a problem. I gave it a chance and ate half, but couldn't do the rest and sent it back when another waiter came to our table for drink refills. To add insult to injury, after I sent back the plate, I wasn't offered a menu or asked if I wanted anything else. So I watched my family eat their lunch and never got anything because I didn't see my waitress until the check was due and she had no idea I sent back the plate. So I think the break down was that the waiter I sent the plate back with, didn't tell the original waitress that happened. I could've walked around the restaurant and looked for her, but I didn't want to and shouldn't have to. My wife had the steak rosotto which was excellent and so was my sons jalepeno burger. My meal was taken off the bill and I don't blame the original waitress. Still tipped. No moral to this story, just had a bad experience. Doubt if i'll be going back anytime soon, but we'll see. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant! The menu has a variety of options! It has a lot of French dishes, however I don't think it's very authentic, but it's good food. The omelettes had a nice presentation, the taste was pretty good. It was also a huge portion! We also ordered plain crepes and waffle, Both had a very soft texture. It tasted okay, but not what I expected. I think it would be better if it's more crispy on the outside. However it did have an interesting texture that is pretty good. The service was good. We were there early morning on a weekday. Ambiance is pretty comfortable and cute! Overall, I would come back, but the food isn't French enough that could earn the extra star. read more

This is a nice, pretty French inspired place in a quaint side of town. I didn't eat here but the menu is extensive. Recently opened and based on my first impression it'll be around for a while. I had a beer. No food. Although the menu is extensive I just wasn't hungry. I will say that $9 for a blonde light beer is pricey. The gentlemen behind the small but nice bar were very nice. (I recommend having a couple of stools) Aesthetically pleasing and so clean. I'd come back and try food next time. Specially since they serve "Croquet Mesieur." If you know, you know. We came back today and the service and overall experience was still top notch. Robert took our reservation and accommodated our 2 families. It was lovely to be able to reserve brunch time on a Sunday. We were looked after by Joseph! Joseph was attentive, very helpful and our other guests were late so he gave us some tips on menu items. Tried Gabacho for the first time a few weeks back for my MIL'a birthday dinner. The new decor is nice and so is the lounge area. We were greeted nicely by the staff and promptly seated. I would consider Gabacho a higher end dining choice for Glendora and with that comes higher expectations, at least for me. My experience was above average but could have been better, thus the 3 star out of 5. Here is my summary of the food and some photos. Started with the Escargot and the artichoke dip. Both were delicious. My MIL ordered the Salmon and it came with an AU gratin type of potato and salad. Salmon very good and sauce too, Salad was great. The crispy edges of the potato had parts that were very hard, almost unchewable The flavor was good though. I ordered the La Diabla pasta. It was really really nice with great flavor. My wife ordered the Onion soup which was so salty it was inedible. In hindsight we probably should have let the server know. I would order again to see if it was a one time thing because we love onion soup. Had the crème brûlée for dessert and it was very good. Service was great and we'll try again and order some different items. Give them a try, share your own experience. Note: edited my take on the chips based on chefs info. New to the area. We tried it, and it was just ok? For the price point, it's a bit over priced. The food was half and half, in regards to there are bits we liked and bits we didn't like. We got the chicken mushroom, the chicken with mushroom sauce was great! The side of potatoes and super dry salad was just ok. Not worth the price, I would want like a bougie salad but was just a plain salad. The potatoes were like scalloped potatoes, it was small and generic. We also got this seafood pasta. The seafood was cooked well, but gave the tiniest piece of salmon with no skin. The cream sauce was so watery and the pasta was bland. Again, not trying to be that person but for that price point maybe fresh pasta or something. The dessert dish leveled it out. We got the crème brûlée French toast, that was superb. It was done well to where you don't even realize they used a French baguette as the toast instead of the usual brioche. I would recommend this dish. Because of this dish, we thought about maybe coming and giving a second shot at the breakfast because half the menu seemed like breakfast. Restaurant was clean, staff was nice and tentative. Gabacho in Glendora Village is such a great addition to the area. The restaurant is beautiful inside with a welcoming, upscale vibe that works for both brunch and dinner. We started with an Arnold Palmer and strawberry lemonade both refreshing and well balanced. For food, the mango goat cheese salad was fresh with a nice mix of sweet and tangy. The Vache sandwich was the standout for me super soft, juicy steak with a rich mushroom sauce that brought everything together perfectly. The La Diabla pasta was also flavorful with a nice kick. We ended with the French toast, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside definitely a great way to finish the meal. Overall, a really solid dining spot with unique flavors. Made it out to Gabacho for their opening day dinner!!! Absolutely beautiful revamp on what was Glendora's Village Eatery location! Loved the warm lighting and decor and the beautiful wall murals. Would've preferred some sort of French café inspired music for the ambience, but instead we were listening to what sounded like wedding dinner music. He got the chicken breast plate with mushroom and it was plated beautifully!! The au gratin was delicious, but lacked a lil seasoning. The salad could of used more dressing. I ordered the carbonara pasta and it was rich, and creamy, with the egg yolk to mix in to my pasta. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive! I happened by Gabacho while in Glendora and I saw their lovely outdoor seating and their menu. Once I saw their menu, I decided to try them for lunch, and I'm glad I did. The ambience is just lovely. Big plush booths inside, great music. The service was very friendly and cordial. But the food...because I was having lunch, I tried the BBQ burger, which was delicious. The salad it comes with was superb, it included fresh fruits and garnished with a flower. Instead of the French fries it comes with, I chose the gratin potatoes, which was delicious. Gabacho has been open for less than two months and still working on kinks but has lots of promise. We had seafood risotto, salmon tacos, la diabla pasta and salmon ala almendra. The diabla pasta was quite spicy and lots of meaty ingredients. I requested the seafood risotto without cheese, lots of seafood though the rice tasted less than arborio and more like calrose rice. Salmon ala almendra was very large portion though a bit overwhelming with the sweet orange sauce. We shared a creme brulee, tasty and reminded me more of a crema Catalun. This was my first time visiting, and I've been meaning to try this place for quite some time. I'm glad I finally did. The food was excellent. I ordered the artichoke dip and the steak omelette, and both exceeded expectations. The artichoke dip was rich, flavorful, and a great way to start the meal. The steak omelette was delicious, the steak was tender and cooked perfectly, and the sauce really brought everything together. It was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting. The exposed brick walls, lounge-style seating, and overall character of the restaurant give it an authentic feel that makes you want to sit down, relax, and enjoy your time there. What stood out to me most, however, was the difference in hospitality among the staff. When I arrived, Adriana saw me walk in but never greeted me and instead, walked past me. After I was seated, she walked past my table several times, looked in my direction, but never smiled or acknowledged me. My server, who unfortunately was not wearing a name tag, was helpful and took care of what I needed, but the interaction felt more transactional than welcoming. Then there was Ivan. Even though I was not seated in his section, he stopped by my table, greeted me with a smile, checked on me throughout my visit, and made me feel welcome. At the end of my meal, when he saw I had placed my credit card on the table, he came over to make sure everything had been taken care of, asked how my experience was, and even encouraged me to bring my family back. Those may seem like small things, but they make a big difference. I believe this restaurant deserves to become a staple in the Old Town Glendora community. The food is certainly good enough. The ambiance is certainly good enough. The opportunity is in making every guest feel like they're being welcomed into an extension of the owner's home rather than simply being served a meal. People may come in for the food, but they come back because of how a place makes them feel. That said, I am still happy to give this place 5 stars. I genuinely enjoyed my visit and will absolutely be back. Running a restaurant is not easy, and finding great people is not always easy either. My comments are shared because I want to see this restaurant succeed and become a place the community embraces for years to come. read more

The owner and chef, David, was warm, welcoming, and very friendly, as well as all of the other staff members. We had the escargot appetizer and the artichoke dip. The escargot, which is one of my favorite dishes, was cooked in garlic, butter, lemon, and parsley. It was awesome. If you've never tried it, try it! And if you had it anywhere else and didn't like it, keep in mind not every place that serves escargot knows what they're doing. Gabacho, in Glendora, California, is not one of those places! The flavors were awesome. The escargot was tender, not chewy, the best I've had in recent memory and a very long time. The artichoke dip was also tasty and served with tortilla chips; however, I believe it pairs better with the bread that they serve. I wanted to try the frog legs. Yes, they have that as well, but they were out. I plan on trying the frog legs next time I go. The two entrées that we ordered were the chicken breast with the piccata madeira and mushroom sauce and the risotto de la Mer with fresh salmon, scallops, and shrimp in the De La Mer sauce. Both entrées were delicious, presented with a touch of class fit for a king and/ or queen. The portions were perfect at what I believe to be a very reasonable price. A wonderful addition to downtown Glendora that we were excited to try. We dined on a beautiful Friday night. The patio was full and a musician was playing. Inside the decor was comfortable with private booths in green, a green flowered mural on one wall, and a tree of leaves moving up the ceiling - though fake, was well executed. Pleasant music played in the background. The service was well-timed with someone greeting us immediately and water served promptly. We brought our own wine and there was a reasonable corkage fee. The dinner was delicious. I had the Risotto Del Mar and my husband had the Halibut. We are looking forward to our next visit. My only suggestion to the owners is to serve the bread before the meal (vs with). It also could benefit both businesses if a wine deal was struck with Coco Vino down the street. read more

The omelet was full of fresh vegetables and had just the right amount of spice. The crepe was thin, buttery, and beautifully made, filled with vegetables that were still crisp, and full of flavor. The goat cheese and candied walnuts were a perfect combination too. The service was friendly and attentive, and our booth was cozy. The copper water glasses were a nice touch as well, keeping the water nice and cold. It all made for a great breakfast. Had dinner there last night. The décor was nice, although the table was a bit too small for 4 dishes. As for the food... the salad was served somewhere between room temperature and warm, and the risotto was a definite no. I'm not in the restaurant business, but it seemed like they were overstaffed. Everyone looked busy, yet the service was surprisingly slow. We asked for water shortly after we were seated, but didn't receive it until we asked two or three more times. Overall, it wasn't a great experience. If you're deciding between the two, I think the Mexican fusion restaurant across the street is a much better choice. read more

I feel I should try it again after reading all of the good reviews but I just don't want to after the experience I had yesterday. I chose to try it out while my boyfriend's parents were in town and ended up super disappointed and wishing I'd stuck to one of my usual spots. The food was fine, maybe even better than fine at times (the calamari was good) but it was overshadowed by the quality of service. I see reviews talking about good service and attentiveness so I'm not sure what happened. After sitting down, our waters were filled and then it took about 20 minutes for our server to even come and take our order. We didn't even know who our server was until then. He took our appetizers and then had trouble putting them in the system so he had to leave the table and didn't come back for another 10 minutes. The appetizers came somewhat quickly which was good but then the entrees ended up taking 30-40 minutes more. We were also not checked on at all and had to ask to have waters refilled multiple times. I'd like to come back and try brunch but definitely dont want to have another experience like this one. read more
