Loved this new spot in Glendora! Had the Porto Burger which has this nice sort of caramelized onion reduction jam and melted brie and comes with garlicky fries and a substantial side salad. Very big portions but not overwhelming either. I also split the dulce de leche crepe for dessert which I'd recommend as well. Very friendly staff and good vibes inside. We went for brunch and got a latte, Crepe de la Baie, Limousin Omelette, and a Kids Turkey and Jack Crepe. The food was surprisingly good! I had the Crepe de la Baie, and the texture of the crepe was not dry at all, the shrimp was fresh and tender, and they use real crab. My husband enjoyed his omelette, especially the brie, and it came with a couple pieces of baguette on the side. The baguette had the perfect crisp on the outside and was very soft in the middle. We came for lunch during the week so luckily no wait, we got an amazing window seat to be able to people watch downtown while we waited for the food. Everything on the menu sounds delicious and it was so hard to choose but we went with the salmon. They have two different types of salmon dinners, so we got one of each and oh my goodness, both were so different in taste but were absolutely amazing and cooked perfectly! Prices were not nearly as bad as I thought I would be considering how nice it is inside. I loved the beautiful tree that they have. Our server was very attentive. For mains, I had the 12oz ribeye with the madeira mushroom sauce, and it was cooked just right--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. I grew up in La Verne, so it was such a refreshing surprise to find an elevated dining spot like Gabacho Restaurant nearby. The menu is extensive yet thoughtful, the ambiance is warm and stylish, and the owners were there and incredibly friendly! The portions are also generous. Between two of us, we shared the vegetable risotto, ribeye, and prosciutto bruschetta and were stuffed!! But of course we had room for the crème brûlée for dessert! Have been to the establishment before. The food is good but pricey. The wait when we've been there previously has been long (1.5 hrs for lunch service for three people) but thought it was because it was a newer place, so we gave grace as they were working the kinks out in their service times. Today, my family and I went in 20 minutes after they had opened and there were many seats available. An older gentleman told us that it would be a few minutes, which many, many minutes. He came and filled up water glasses where we were waiting by the bar to be seated. We saw that he was on his phone behind the bar during this time. After waiting some time for a seat (we had four in our group) we and not being acknowledged again, we left. While I understand some days you can be short staffed, it makes it hard to keep customers with continued slow service such as this. We may be back for pickup only to spend our gift card or may give to a friend. We are all about supporting small business, but it's just too much. read more

The good: The panini was good, on par with a sandwich place. The staff was friendly and attentive. The decor was nice. The bread was good The bad: the pasta de la mer was sub par - thin sauce, under cooked scallops, dry salmon, tiny portion. The scalloped potatoes had an odd flavor (nutmeg I think) and the serving size was miniscule. The side salad had unripe mango, strawberries, and tomatoes - it was just odd and not very good. The bread came late and the butter was in those cheap little packets. Overall: I get the feeling this place can't live up to the standards (or price) it's set. It seemed like everything was made by an amateur trying to seem fancy while cutting corners on ingredients and the little things that can make such high prices justified. Score: would be 3/5 at half the cost but it's got to lose a point for being over-priced. I would love to see this place become what it promises. read more

This place was amazing! The food was delicious and the employees were so nice. The decor was also beautiful and the seats were very comfortable. It's so exciting to see a new restaurant in our quaint village. With that said, because it is new, it seems like there were a few glitches that the staff had to deal with, but that's expected from a new place. On the day I went, I felt horrible for one of the waitresses because she had to deal with a rude customer who was inpatient and complaining about their food taking too long. I get that, but no need to be disrespectful especially when the waitress apologized over and over for the inconvenience. Hopefully, that person never returns. The restaurant is better off without low class customers. These restaurants and local businesses deserve our love and support. Stay kind to each other. read more
