We were out a little late and decided to have dinner here. This was my first time and I was told a lot of great things about it. Customer service was amazing. Our waitress was super attentive and very sweet. We placed our order and our food came out pretty quickly everything was great big portions. Everything was flavorful would definitely come back again.

Ray's Tepeyac is my go to for a Chile Verde Burrito! Large portion! I can only eat half. I tried their $6 Michelada Tuesday special for the first time. Really good balance of spice and tomato with Modelo. David always gives us great service and has become a family friend over the years.

My friend and I came for dinner. I had the Chile Coranado and my friend had the Pescado Mojo De Ajo. The portions were big enough for us to take some home for later. Food was delicious. Staff was very intentive and helpful. The ambience was very pleasant. We will be back.

Ray's Tepeyac sells thick, heavy portions with speedy service. The food's flavors are distinct and prominent, but it also tastes "mushy" like something left underneath a food lamp for too long. Currently, Ray's Tepeyac successfully captures the taste of well-cooked buffet food. (Quick Note: 3.99% Service Charge Applied to All Card Sales. Bring Cash.) I arrived on a weekday (around 1:50PM). The location had a large amount of elderly customers. I was immediately seated. Each table received complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were lukewarm, but its flavorful salsa was cold. In addition, the tap water tastes very off-putting; its water tastes like old melted ice. I ordered the Shredded Beef Burrito (Lunch Special - $10.95) and the Pescado Al Mojo De Ajo ($18.95). Service is fast! Both huge dishes arrived piping hot in six minutes and 47 seconds. The Shredded Beef Burrito is extremely big. The burrito is doused with tangy sauce and melted cheese with a dollop of sour cream. The burrito is stuffed with boiled, mushy beef. Thankfully, its sauce adds needed flavor to the bland burrito. The Pescado Al Mojo De Ajo had a lovely, addictive garlic and buttery flavor. Unfortunately, its strong taste is used to mask the thin, small, soft, mushy fish. Its rice successfully rekindled memories of Mexican rice, but it's very mushy. The beans are satisfying, but it's finely mashed and wet. Thankfully, its flavor is strengthened with its generous melted cheese. If I had two words to describe this dish, it would be "soft" and "hot." Service is adequate. In the beginning, I was helped quickly. However, once I received my food, I rarely saw my server. I had to eventually "wave down" a staff member to get my check. Staff moves like a fast food restaurant. After receiving the check, customers pay at the front counter. Regarding ambiance, Ray's Tepeyac is a charming location. I enjoyed the wall's artwork. The location is also clean and well-ventilated. High-energy Mexican music echoes throughout this location. The furniture looks dated like an old diner, but it's functional and well-maintained. Overall, Ray's Tepeyac serves huge portions. And it's a decent option for a budget meal. If deciding to visit Ray's Tepeyac, enter with low expectations. 3.8 out of 5

    Mexican Chopped Chicken Salad

To Go Order placed. Ordered red chile burrito, got a green chile burrito. The Mexican chopped chicken salad I ordered was a disaster. Watery with wilted mushy lettuce. They don't always fill my orders correctly but wanted to support our local restaurant. Unfortunately, this will be my last order. Not going back.

Went in with my sunny son sunshine, we had breakfast I had the Chile Relleno plate and he had Huevos rancheros. It was so delicious. Our waiter David was amazing. He was getting into it with another waitress just a tad over a broken coffee maker but all in all it was funny to hear the bickering. He told homegirl she was still sleeping lol anyways loved it. The music was playing . The vibe is mobster feel. Old timers comfort. I love this place. We will be back again.

The service at Ray's was amazing! The staff were very attentive and sweet. I used to go to this restaurant all the time when I was younger with my mom and dad and it brought up so many memories for me. I got the Pescado Al Mojo De Ajo which was a very garlicky and buttery. The portion sizes are large and my boyfriend and I both had a lot of leftovers to take home. Only thing to note is that they do charge a fee for credit card I believe.

My husband and I ate here after work as a mid-week treat. The restaurant looks small from the outside but once we were seated, we noticed it was quite spacious and there was lots of seating. The service was great and the food was pretty good. They serve chips and salsa complimentary. We ordered flautas, taquitos, and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. My favorite was the taquitos. The cheese enchilada was good but a little too heavy for me especially with the rice and beans.

Thankfully we were able to detour from Anaheim on our way to LAX. Special shout out to the dedicated staff who graciously accommodated us and allowed us to sneak in a bit early in order to fulfill our cravings and still make our flight on time. I grew up going to Casa Moreno since the original spot in 1995, you can say it's home for me. My kids have therefore grown up visiting it every chance we get when visiting our family in the area. We generally all share and pass our plates around in true family style because we can never decide which all-star traditional plates to order. This time, the kid's quesadilla, 3 Amigos, Steak Fajitas, Chicken Flautas and Machaca made the cut. The look on my son's face when the sizzling platter was headed his way was just as magical as seeing him hug Chip and Dale. Every single bite warmed our hearts and filled our homemade food starved bodies. Casa Moreno is undeniably the greatest Mexican food that Los Angeles has had to offer for over 30 years. Their traditions span throughout three generations and the second you crunch those warm chips covered in their "Chilanga" salsa, you'll be hooked. The best part is that my local family is always there and pleased to come sit with us. We are all unfortunately spread apart across the country but Casa Moreno will always be the place that brings us together. Our shared experiences and memories there always make it HOME. Thank you Casa Moreno for all the sacrifices and hard work to stay around this long, it is very much appreciated by this LA girl living in Hawai'i.

Our waitress this morning--her name was "B"--was the sweetest. Super kind, always checking in on us and making sure we were good. If you're like me and super indecisive, I usually stalk the menu the night before. But this menu was HUGE--pages and pages. I flipped straight to the brunch section in the back (three full pages!) and landed on the Supreme Skillet: potatoes, over-easy eggs, bell peppers, ham, and sausage. It came with three tortillas of your choice--I picked corn. Taste-wise, it was good, but I wish there were bigger and more pieces of meat. Compared to other skillets I've had, this one was a little light on the protein. It was $17.99. I'd rate it a 6.5/10, but with the refried beans on the side, it bumped up to a 6.9/10. My bestie ordered the Combo Benedict with French toast sticks, and honestly...the French toast sticks were the star. Super crispy, fluffy inside, and perfect with syrup. We also got the mimosa flight--mango, strawberry, and peach. All were tasty, super cute, and very Instagram-worthy. I can totally see this place popping at night with music and drinks. That said, even in the morning with only one other couple next to us, the music was pretty loud--it was kinda hard to talk during our brunch, literally had to look at besties lips to know what she's saying. I can't even imagine nighttime volume, lol. Overall: Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 3.5/5 Definitely a fun spot to try, especially if it's your first time!
