The Chicken is DELISH!! Kind & friendly workers & the place is so clean, its so welcong!.

The food was delicious and they had their area clean and they are kind with their clients!

Their food is always fresh and very tasty! Also their portions are good. I especially enjoy the sides of fried plantains and the fried yuca!

I tried their chicken sandwich. The chicken was very tasty but the sandwich was a little dry. Maybe put a little mayo. The workers are friendly and helpful. read more

If you enjoy good chicken whether fried or baked you will enjoy Pollo Campero. What initially drew me in besides the chicken was the fact that they had Plantains as a side and some how it made me want to try this place out. I got their 8 piece Family Meal which comes with some sides as well. For the sides I got their beans, plantains and yuca fries. You get some bread rolls with the order with the chicken. The great thing too is that it was all drumsticks and thighs so I do not believe they have breast or wing. The chicken was good in simple words, had a nice flavor and it was tender. The plantains went great with it, the yuca fries and the beans were just ok. Yuca fries seemed a little too hard and soggy at the same time so I didn't know what to make of it. Either way I would come here again to get the plantains and chicken. read more

Drove about 20m to get to this location just to see the employee putting the chairs up at 8:15 when it specifically states on the website 9:00 not, we were pretty bummed about it since we were talking about trying it for the 1st time.. we ended up at Juan Pollo.. it's intriguing to me when a business has closing time but prepare 30m before closing time.. back then you were able to walk in few minutes and place was still happy to serve.. things are different now a days you'll get a look like oh 5m before closing huh (then you think to yourself what if they do something to my food) gets you anxious! read more

Chicken is good but service is HORRIBLE!! Very single time they mess up my order and by every single time, I mean at least 10 out of 10 times. The ONLY reason I keep coming back is because the chicken really is good. I think management has to change because oversight of quality control and Customer service is critical and whoever is in charge isn't doing their job. Hopefully Corporate reads this because it is unfortunate when every time I go and get my order through the drive-through and make it home I have to turn around and come back and tell them to fix my order which is a huge inconvenience and completely avoidable. read more

This is my first time ever having Pollo Campero, which is located in West Covina. This place seems like a Mexican-style fried chicken spot. I ordered an 8-piece combo meal for takeout, including yucca fries and mac and cheese. It comes with four dinner rolls, and I believe this is for four people to enjoy together. They have grilled chicken and also fried chicken, I tried both but enjoyed the fried more. It has a lot of flavor. The yucca fries are unique and different maybe not everyone will like it, but I think this is not bad. The mac and cheese was a little plain to me and tasted almost like it was mush. Service was quick from the drive through but I didn't go inside. So can't say anything about the interior. read more

My wife and I were just there this past weekend, and my wife got very sick from old burned extra fried chicken. We asked the person in charge why the chicken look so old and refried, and she said it was fresh. Will never go to this spot again. My wife was throwing up for a full day and night. And 3 months ago I found a bug in their supposed fresh drink they are on counter. A bug inside the orchata drink. read more

Had some time during lunch break and decided to pull up to campero. I was suggested this spot by one of my homies who lives closeby, and he said it was really good so I decided to go check it out myself. Walking inside it was nice and cold which was great since it was about 98 degrees lol. Went to the front and the menu was easy to read and navigate, decided to go with the 3 piece fried chicken meal. It came with 2 sides where I chose the mac n cheese + french fries. To my surprise the order was ready in less than 3 minutes, legit right after I filled up my drink and sat down the food was ready. The chicken tasted great, fried to a great point and was cripsy all around and the meat itself was tender and well cooked. The chicken flavor reminds me of how malay/indo chicken is made which is odd because this was a mexican joint. The french fries and mac were standard, solid and did the job. The dinner roll was also good and complimented the plate (a bit small but that's alright), you have a choice of a tortilla as well. Overall a 8.5/10, this is a good spot if you are craving fried chicken at a decent price ($13.50 for the meal). I'd definitely come back during my lunch again. read more

This chicken sandwich only had chicken , pickles and bun, that's it and I have to say was the best chicken sandwich I've had for fast food, compared to Chick-fil-A, Popeyes, Jollibee's. KFC. This simple sandwich packs a punch! The flavor is in the chicken. Very filling! read more

Initially, my expectations were very low. However, wifey and I were pleasantly surprised!! Even though the fried chicken is more popular than the grilled, I personally thought the reverse. Either way, the chicken is very well seasoned before cooking. The flavor penetration is worth the wait time. The service is very warm and friendly. The facility is clean and well maintained. The yuca fries go well with the dipping sauce. The mango and Jamaica water isn't very sweet, very refreshing . I was impressed by the fact if you order to eat in, your meal is served on colorful plastic plates. Fast food doesn't get any better than this. Personally, I don't know why this restaurant is averaging 3 stars. Please give this restaurant a try!! read more

I ordered the chicken special and asked if it could be grilled instead of fried. I was told yes, but received fried chicken. I understand miscommunication happens. The staff was great and polite; however, the manager, Alexandro Simon, was rude, dismissive, and had poor communication skills. His attitude made a simple issue uncomfortable. The food mistake was minor--the manager's customer service was the real problem. read more

Today I was on my way home and somehow Pollo Campero popped up in my view on Map Quest. I was like... what do we have here. I know "Pollo" means chicken in Spanish. I pretty much guessed what "Campero" means... it is camper. I was curious on what Camper Chicken is all about so I made a detour and here I am... It's located at the corner of Arrow Hwy and Azusa Ave. Funny, El Pollo Loco is pretty much right next door. Now there is a difference... El Pollo Loco is Mexico originated where Pollo Campero is Guatemala originated. Anyway, I decided to walk inside instead of going through drive-thru. I also needed to use the ladies room (very clean). This was my first time visiting a Pollo Campero. After reviewing the menu, I went with one 3 piece meal that comes with 2 legs + 1 thigh + 2 sides + 1 roll or 2 tortillas... I chose campero rice and cole slaw and roll. I aslo got one 4 piece meal that comes with 1 breast + 1 wing + 1 leg + 1 thigh + 2 sides + 1 roll or 2 tortillas... I chose yucca fries, mac & cheese, and 2 tortillas. The price difference between the two meals is $4.40. I was like... for 1 more piece of chicken, it will cost me $4.40 more... hmmm, is that a better deal or not? Well, it depends on how badly I wanted that breast and/or wing LOL... that was the determining factor! I was surprisingly amazed on how tasty and moist the fried chicken was at my first bite. I loved it! Very yummy! Eat it while it's hot! As for the sides, my #1 favorite is the yucca fries (interestingly solid... you get 8 sticks), #2 is campero rice (fluffy, but could use a bit more seasoning), #3 is mac & cheese (smooth and rich), and #4 is cole slaw (too much mayonnaise). The roll and tortillas tasted okay and they were a tad on the miniature side IMHO. Staff was super friendly and pleasant. Service was very quick because immediately right after I paid for my order, it was ready. But then again, I was the only person in line at the time. Prices were on the higher end IMHO. They have lots of indoor seating. I didn't see any outdoor seating, but they do have a drive-thru. I'll definitely be back for more Guatemalan fried chicken and yucca fries! read more

Have been wanting to try this place due to its giant Pollo logo. I wasn't sure what type of chicken they were selling. Upon entering, there was a post on the door says law enforcement gets 50% off and luckily I always carry it. The interior decore reminds me of Del Tacos restaurants. A 4 piece meal with Cole slaw, sweetened plantain, and an empanada were ordered at the counter. A number placard was placed by the table and the food was brought over. The fried chicken was delicious; not too salty and not dry at all. It also came with corn tortillas and they don't break easily. The empanda was fried and it was delicious. The drinks were mehhh, the typical horchata and Jamaica which were too sweet for my taste buds. Overall, it was a good experience. Since the restaurant isn't really self served, speedy table cleaning could mean the Overall appareance of the dinning area. I saw a few tables with left over plates which it wasn't eye pleasing at all. It gets a 3.8 out of 4. read more

The food here is just good. It's always popping here too. The people who work here are very nice. We come here every coupleel of weeks.

Wonderful meal and excellent service! The chicken was very juicy and tender. Love the crunchy texture.

The girl taking our order was really friendly. The place is incredibly clean as is the kitchen. The chicken is really good. But the prices and size not so much. Way overpriced. And only 2 tortillas? Much to like and much not to like. There is room for improvement. I really like the chicken. read more

So I've tried they're mid Wilshire location about 10 years ago, and I honestly couldn't tell you how it was, no specific memories other than it being ok. Because chicken is one of my favorite protein, I was happy to see another fast food chicken restaurant. After my visit here tonight, not very happy anymore. Order 12 piece meal, half fried, half grilled, sides were rice, mash potatoes Coleslaw, and an empenada meal with fries. There was some good, some bad with my meal. Fried chicken 4/5, decent, good flavor. Grill chicken 1/5, slightly charred, overcooked, extremely dry for legs & thighs. Coleslaw 2/5, served warm, savory, not sweet, vinegar overpowering. Rice 4/5, nice flavor, above average. Mash potatoes 2/5, flavorless, makes you wonder if it's instant Mash potatoes? French Fries 1/5, cold, wilted and greasy. Empenada, 5/5, awesome crust, was super crispy & flakey, filling had great flavor. Now it's understandable that the food was slightly below average at best, but maybe being newly opened, overwhelmed with customers, going through growing pains, will come back in a month or two and order the exact same meal, we'll see if there's any improvement. 3 stars from me today. read more

Saw an ad for this place on social media and decided to give 'em a try. Placed my order on their website for pick up at 5:45PM (thinking I would get there before the dinner crowd). Welp - I was wrong. It was crazy busy already when I got there. The pick up counter is the further counter. Gave 4 employees my name and order info and only 1 person got back to me to let me know they were putting it together. The other 3 employees just left me hanging. The one employee that got back to me, she even gave me a courtesy soft drink while I waited. Took a few minuted to get my order ready and while we went over my order, they forgot the beans on my order. She went back in and put them in a separate bag for me. ** Make sure you check your order** The drive home was torture - the smell of freshly fried chicken! The fried chicken is nice and moist. The skin has a nice crunch and good flavor, with just a slight kick. The sides - the beans were a bust. The container was mostly sauce and little to no beans. Coleslaw was ok. Nothing home to write home about. The mash - was my favorite of the sides. The gravy is mixed in it. The dinner rolls were individually wrapped and nice and warm. The parking lot is tight and the drive through is in a bad place. The drive thru entrance is right at the corner of Arrow and Azusa. If you're parked by the drive thru entrance, you'll likely end up being blocked in like me. The food is good - would've given them 5 stars, but the wait and the customer service by the 3 employees dropped them down. read more

I wanted to update my review after talking to several people and they all said Pollo Campero was good I decided to order it again. The price is high yes, I see higher prices everywhere tho so no surprise I guess The chicken breast was moist although the grill chicken does look burnt I believe it's the spices which make it look not so appealing. The plantains were very good we also tried the yucca fries not so tasty. Overall I think I will order again not the yucca. I forgot to take pictures this time read more

Pollo Campero is a fast-food restaurant that serves up fried and grilled chicken with some Guatemalan-inspired sides. This franchised location opened up recently and has a dining room and drive-thru. Be warned that since it is new, there are significant lines and waits. Some special menu items you'll find at this fried chicken place are yuca fries, sweet plantains, and empanadas. Parking: The location has a small private parking lot with free parking. Typically that would be fine; however, the drive-thru line wraps through the parking lot and makes it very difficult to actually park or get out of your parking spot if you are ordering in-store. Depending on the line, it may be worth it to park at the adjacent shopping center and walk over if you're coming at a peak time. Fried chicken: The breading is very light, but tastes good and is crunchy. The meat is also moist and not dry. I'm not sure if there was seasoning as the flavor was very light. Yuca Fries: Standard yuca fries Sweet Plantains: Not a ton of fast-food places that have these and I thought they were good, nice and sweet. Online Ordering: This location accepts online ordering through their website or app. If you're doing takeout and not going in the drive-thru, I HIGHLY recommend this route. The line to order can be long and the amount of people waiting for their food can be long. Save yourself the time and just order ahead. Overall, I think this is a good place to come for fried chicken. read more

So far it's not a great first impression for this new location. It's been 30 minutes waiting for a 4 piece meal. The employees are slow and take forever to get your order. Poor management flow. By the time I got my chicken it was cold due to packing while waiting for the hot sides. I've had this chicken before at other locations and I know it's tasty but I won't return to this specific location due to their ineptitude. Parking a sparce with about 10 tight spaces with no drive thru option today, they have a red cone to not use the drive thru. Probably because they can't get orders out fast enough. It need look like they lacked staff, it was more like they lacked leadership. And on top of all that when I ginally got my order, it was missing an item. Glad I checked my bag before leaving. They gave me a free flan dessert for the long wait. The sides are super small for a 4 piece meal. read more

The music is too loud. I loved coming to this place with the entire family including the elderly because the music was reasonable and we could speak as we ate. I requested to lower it just a little bit but the supervisor refused. My request was not unreasonable; I just don't want to be fighting with the music with every bite. Is not a good sign when the supervisor does not see after the comfort of the clients. She claimed the company requires to have it that loud. It really spoils the experience. read more

First time driving through Pollo Campero before watching a movie. The first thing that disappointed me was the not finding a burrito on their menu. I was expecting healthier options. We tried to get out of the line but we had a car behind us. So, I just decided to get the two piece chicken campero meal. To my surprise the meal was served in separate items.. one little box for the chicken, one little container for the side and the cold, hard bread was wrapped with plastic, such a disappointment ! My husband ordered 6 piece chicken nuggets which they looked like an inch size chicken balls, such a joke! We were both hungry so I ate the two pieces of chicken before the movie. The taste was actually good, however, minutes after I finished it, I got a little upset stomach but nothing too bad. We continued to watch the movie with popcorn, soda and I had a bite of the plantines side order from Camperos. Something about them that I couldn't finish them. By the end of the movie, I had to rush to the restroom and had the runs. All day Sunday was sick with constant diarrhea and woke up today feeling the same. I am almost sure it was the chicken, they must have had it already in boxes because it took them literally a minute to give us the order. I would never go back! read more
