Farmer Boys is usually my go-to for Chili Cheese Fries (no onions please) because it is SO good! However, I needed to grab a quick breakfast and decided to stop by since nothing near was opened. They have a breakfast special for under $10 which I thought was a very good deal. I felt their Omelette was a bit too dry because I like my eggs a bit runny and not as well done. We've been coming here for years and tonight was the absolute last time. Not only has it become insanely expensive, even with the app, but the food gets worse and smaller every time. Wonderful experience here at Farmer Boys. I usuallly go to the Mcds nearby but decided something different. The avocado blt sandwich here was delicious and so are the fries. The salad is put in a really cool looking bowl too, so showing attention to detail. It was my first time here but my significant other had this before. We both tried the natural avocado bacon burger with no bacon. It is fresh never frozen 1/3 patty with smashed avocado, cheese, onions, pickles, and a thousand island dressing. We also got fried zucchini and always crispy fries. The fries stole the show this evening. We went to the drive thru and we were the only ones there so you can tell that everything was made fresh to order. That service was much appreciated. Shortly after, there were a few more cars going through the drive thru and a few more customers walked in. We ordered the natural burger and the farmer's burger. Both are never frozen patties. We also ordered a cookies n cream shake and chili cheese fries with onion. The fries were pretty good with grilled onions since the fries were very crispy. I heard about Farmers boy from my previous job, when the sales reps would bring in catered orders of breakfast burritos. They were delicious and enough to put the whole office to sleep after consuming half of one burrito. I since moved away from that job, and found one on the way to costco! Service is fast. Parking lot is huge! the bathrooms could be better, but it will do. The dining area is very large and very clean. It reminds me of a denny's but not as busy. The food is a bit oily, but delicious. I especially love the zucchini fries, they are actual sticks of zucchini cut into quarters and fried!! The onion rings are also huge pieces, not just a tiny sliver of an onion round. Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and a drink. The sandwich could've been made by a 6 year old and probably would have been better. The chicken was unseasoned and had 0 evidence of being grilled, it instead looked like it had been boiled. On top of the chicken breast was just a huge slab of lettuce and dollop of mayonnaise. Super plain, bland, and not to mention the chicken was dry as leather. The most surprising part was that they couldn't even do the fries right. The fries were overcooked to the point where the potato inside was absent, leaving just a shell of over-cooked skin on the outside. Last but not least the bathroom is in pretty bad condition. Graffiti everywhere and the sink only puts out literal boiling hot water. Food: Natural Cheeseburger: Before Farmer Boys my default average burger joint was In N Out; after last night, Farmer Boys had established a whole new standard for me. The beef patty of the burger was beefy and savory, the aftertaste of the beef long-lasting as it lingers in the palate after each bite. The vegetables: lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions, were vibrant in their flavor(s) and very fresh. The cheese, for the first time it felt as if I were eating real cheese: it was smooth and slightly creamy in its texture while the dairy aftertaste was pronounced. Cheese(es) at other burger establishments tasted different: they were usually generic and flat in both texture and flavor(s). The bun, my goodness, the texture of it was like a cross between a Hawaiian and brioche bun but with sound structural integrity. The texture of the bun was delicately firm but delectably soft and moist. I scarfed down this burger within 8-10 minutes. Originally, I only thought about eating half since I couldn't eat too much in one sitting. However, before I knew it, the burger was gone because I couldn't stop eating it. THE OWNER IS A SCAM ARTIST I came yesterday and ordered a 10 dollar breakfast plate -the pancakes and added an extra egg. The total came out to 12 dollars. I returned the next day, but noticed the owner (who drives a red Porsche) was there. I thought nothing of it until I was at the cashier. He was eyeballing me the entire time as I was trying to make the same order I made from the previous day, but was adding an additional order of toast. It's time. Time to change the rating back to 5 stars. Farmer Boys at the Irwindale location will forever be an option on my list to-go places to eat when I am hungry, don't know what I want, and just want something quick and relatively reliably yummy. It IS fast food, but premium-ly prepared and priced. Most recently, I came to redeem my birthday breakfast omelet. A whole breakfast completely FREE! There are many restaurant rewards programs out there these days, but Farmer Boys got one of the greatest ones in the market. And due to the points I've collected previously, I was also able to score a side of FREE French fries. Happiness overload. My partner and I also purchased another breakfast omelet and a milk shake out of pocket to round out our meals for the morning. Again, they are not cheap, but they are of very decent quality. So I feel both justified and satisfied in my spending. Everything tasted awesome. Both omelets were satisfactory, honestly did not wow us, but they did what they came to my tummy for. I was able to choose English biscuit as my toast option. Buttery, warm, it surely beat boring wheat toasts! (But honestly, their wheat toasts ain't half bad to start with!) The milk shake, however expensive, was very, very delightful. Best cookies and cream shake I've had in a while! Other places may offer half-assed, artificial tasting Oreo shakes; not here at Farmer Boys. This was creamy, sweet, and you can really taste the Oreo flavors. Recommended. Portions were hearty. I had some leftover for later at night the same day. And for whatever reasons, today, the staff was extra attentive and sweet. When my partner forgot his face mask, they were able to procure one for him promptly without hassle. One young lady volunteered some jelly for my toasts when I asked for ketchup and ranch--and I definitely needed jelly! They were on top of their game today! I spent an hour on the toilet shitting and puking at the same time. Whatever nitwit that made my sausage breakfast burrito around noon on 12/3/23 can go straight to hell. There's simply no way that was "fresh food made fast." After frequenting this place for DECADES!, I doubt I can go back. I called to warn the staff... and shockingly, there wasn't a manager on site. Something just happened to me that apparently happened to somebody else as well which I've just noticed here listed here. I ate a breakfast burrito and got extremely sick within approximately 1 to 2 hours. Bad upset stomach, nausea, diarrhea. Something even tasted a little bit funky when I ate it.
