These tacos are LEGIT!. My wife and I stopped by on a weekend to get a quick bite. We were greeted warmly and met the family behind the business, German and his mom. They mentioned their tacos are "the best" and we're gonna love them and we did! We ordered 3 tacos. 1 Al pastor, 1 shredded chicken and 1 carne asada. Food came out fast and the presentation was tremendous. The tacos were loaded, sauced up and came with some jalapenos peppers. The pictures I took hope does them justice. First bites of those tacos were freaking GOOD! The food was made fresh and tasted fresh. The peppers are very spicy if you can handle heat. Each taco was so packed with flavor it's gonna warrant a return visit in the future. The 3 tacos we chose came out to about $10 total so it's very affordable and worth the plate of food. Try Taco King out here on Azusa Ave. They deliver some of the best tacos in town. Thanks, Taco King!
Visiting from out of town. Found Taco king in Azusa while heading to a tournament. Boy was I glad we stopped by! Ordered a Asada Burrito and tacos de Lengua, Al pastor! Let me tell you that they are possibly the best I have tried! Comes with chips, jalapeño, 2 salsas and grilled onions!!! Spectacular is an understatement! We met the owner a really humble and amazing person! Wish I lived around the area! I would be here all the time! Definitely will pay them a visit even though I'm far away!!! DON'T MISS OUT AND COME VISIT THEM!!! Thank you Taco Kings!!!!
Ok, this place is growing on me. Saw a post about their hard shell beef tacos and had to try them. Stand out item for sure. Better than Pepe's IMO and closer to home! Will have to try their taquitos next time to compare, since that's my go to order there. If I had just ordered the hard shell tacos, would have been five stars for sure, but I tried their soft tacos and they were just ok. Asada, chicken and carnitas. Good, but definitely had better. They have so many items on their menu, probably hard to make everything fresh. The other issue I had was that I ordered two beef hard shell, but got one potato and one beef. Potato is not a favorite of mine in tacos. On the plus side, they add grilled onions and jalapeños on the side! German is a great guy and I know it was probably an innocent mistake, so no biggie. The spicy red sauce is perfect for the hard shell tacos. Mix it with the red salsa and you're in for a treat. Now that I have a go to item here, will definitely try to stop by more often and in person!
Update: I went back today to try the beef tacos... INSANE! Best beef tacos I've ever had. I can't wait to go back for the shredded beef enchiladas. Officially my new favorite Mexican restaurant. My only wish was that they had more locations!!! So good! Also, get the green juice!!! So refreshing. All the portions are generous here. You definitely get the bang for your buck. I'd recommend this place time and time again.
Randomly found on yelp while scrolling and just by the looks of the food I knew it was going to be bomb, and it was definitely amazing, great customer service, very friendly. My dad is the pickiest eater ever he only eats what my abuelitas makes and he even said he wanted to bring her here to try bc it was that good! Will definitely be coming back and recommending! It's a very cute spot on the corner only outside seating but we still enjoyed it way better than most restaurants we've been too
The owner, German (Herman) is great. His attention to detail, his customer service, his love of his restaurant is amazing. And the food is really good. He was very helpful being we never been there before. He asked questions about us, and seemed genuinely interested in knowing who we were. Made me feel like I knew him since we were kids. The food. The chips with beans and cheese were delicious. He offered to make them while we waited. I initially said no thank you but quickly changed my mind. I'd come back just for them. They were so simple yet so delicious. Their beans are super creamy. Their green salsa is made in house(as is everything) and is served warm. The tacos were really tasty. My favorites were the carnitas and the lengua. The Al pastor and asada were good as well. The tortillas were soft and fresh. The bean and cheese burrito was why I came. I saw a woman on TikTok eating it and said it was one of her favorits. She did a series on the best bean and cheese burritos. I think her review was #104 with taco king. And I agree with her. It was really good. It is top 3 for me. I'm going to try it with their enchilada sauce inside the burrito next time. German's customer service alone would bring me back here. Just to support his business. But the food being good as well? Even better lol. Give it a try. And be honest with him. If there is something you order that you don't like or think could be better, tell him. He wants to be the best. With our help and support, he's on his way to becoming just that.
I encountered the owner who handed me a life changing wet carne asada burrito. It was topped with what appeared to be a mole sauce. The meat chunks were nice and full, instead of fatty like other places. The mole flavor was an explosion of savory, Smokey, the perfect balance between sweet. I'll have to come back here. I was offered a tamarindo drink but I will have to try another time. Heard they're amazing here. Excellent customer service and a family unit. They take pride here in their legacy
After seeing this spot on Hungry4munchies IG, I decided to give them a try. I will drive anywhere for a good crunchy hard taco. So I'll start with the food. The food is good. Is it the best I've ever had? No. But it's definitely good. I went for the shredded beef tacos, but was told that they only had chicken, which was a disappointment. The taco itself wasn't a disappointment. The chicken could've had a little more seasoning, but the salsa was good and it made up what was lacking. We also had asada and carnitas tacos. Both were good, the tortillas were top notch, but I'd still say the flavor was lacking a bit without the salsa. We wanted to get agua fresca, but were told that the only drink they had available was 7UP. But as we waiting for our food, we saw people getting their orders with agua frescas, so we went back and asked again. We were told they did have them, but only in available for large. She then said, we don't have large cups, you have to buy 2 mediums. We just wanted 1 medium. We asked could 1 just buy 1 medium and she said no, because there were no lids or something to that effect. That was confusing. When we picked up our order, she did end up giving us an agua fresca on the house, and that was very nice of her. It was VERY good too. Not overly sweet and very refreshing. My only other issue is that the salsa cups didn't have lids. They were wrapped in plastic wrap, which spilled once they were in the bag, and that was kind of a bummer. I would suggest if you're in a hurry to call ahead. The wait is kind of long, and that way you can find out if they have what you're looking for. I'll definitely be back to try the beef tacos at some point. I would also suggest to the owners, if you're out of a bunch of stuff, keep it updated on your IG. And maybe utilize containers for the tacos. We were on the go and eating off of the foil wasnt ideal!
During this trip, I got the "carne asada" burrito and 5 fish tacos with grilled peppers and onions on top paired with a strawberry agua frescas. I also went on wednesday where they have fish tacos for $1.99 each. The food was pretty good! I enjoyed the fish tacos. It had great seasoning, a light crisp but not soggy and ample toppings on top. Also amazing to pair with their grilled jalapenos and onions. I'd definitely recommend getting it on wednesdays for their deal. Their strawberry agua frescas was refreshing and I liked the nice addition with the mint. I liked all the nice toppings like the strawberries and lemon on top. Although, it does come at a hefty price of $11. While I understand it's made fresh, it's still a bit expensive (I'd still get it though since its getting hotter these days). I don't know if Taco King does it differently but I ordered a carne asada burrito but got something that didn't look like asada? I may be wrong but carne asada isn't shredded meat. I think I may have received a different burrito. Anyways, I still thought that the shredded beef burrito was okay. I think what it could've used was a bit more marinating liquid. So that its nice and juicy with every bite. Also would recommend adding onions and cilantro in there as well (i don't know if it's an option or not). Their salsas are also decent. The red habanero(?) salsa was definitely spicy but not the worst. Good habanero flavor though. The verde salsas were nice and paired well with the tacos. Personally I like a roasted tomatillo salsa or a roasted tomato salsa over any other salsa. I don't know the exact prices of each item since the receipt wasn't itemized and most of the menu had stickers over the prices but if I were to give a rough guess: Strawberry agua frescas - $11 "carne asada" burrito - $12 Each fish taco - $2 Credit card fee - $1 Total - $34 Overall, this local spot is ALOT better than most of the other places in the area so I would definitely come back. I would probably get the wet burrito that I had from the first time I was here since it was really good. I would try out their weekly specials to get an introduction to the food they have to offer.
So after seeing the spot a couple times on social media, I found myself on this part of town at lunch. I sure am glad I stopped. The flavors were over-the-top and authentic, better than any flavors that I've had locally. The lengua was OVER THE TOP DELICIOUS! I will be back to try other things . Service with a smile as well, which isn't always the case at other places. Super clean and a great value. The perfect blend of hospitality, family, and food quality! Taco Kings in Azusa is the place to be to get the best service and the best tacos! LOCATION: Right off Azusa Ave and the 210, not hard to find and has a big parking lot to park with seating outside under the shade. Ample space. SERVICE: I think what makes this place special and unique is German, who is the owner and main guy here and he is top notch hospitality! So personable, and so engaging with the customers. He was so kind and gave me a complimentary aqua frescas being my first time! 10/10 service FOOD: the meat and tacos are generous and flavorful. Come on Tuesdays for $2. The meat is so good one of the best I've had! Aqua frescas was the best I've had in awhile too. Cucumber flavor was refreshing! My husband and I have eaten here a few times and it has super amazing food! We've tried the tacos, taquitos, burritos, and torta. The tacos are very flavorful and the asada is so tender and moist. My favorite though is the asada burrito as it has rice and beans. With some salsa, it's freaking delicious and very filling. It's a small business off the side of Azusa Ave. There is some outdoor seating available and there's plenty of parking that's shared conveniently with a Mexican market. The employee who has served us the past few times is very friendly and takes great pride in the yummy food they serve. Will definitely be a regular here! read more

Some of the best Chile quilles I've had, came with 3 eggs and a side off bean and rice. Family owned business and the mother and son duo were so friendly. Service was good and outside seating was clean. Can't wait to try their crunchy tacos next. read more

WOW my fiancé and I are so happy we found this place! We've been looking for an authentic Mexican spot, this is it! The food is very delicious and flavorful, tender meats!! WOW JUST WOW!!!! My husband and I are here trying out their tacos and burrito. When I tell you their food is so flavorful it's because it is! We ordered a carne asada burrito, tacos de lengua and Al Pastor. I literally got up again after I was already done eating and ordered more! TRY IT TRUST ME YOU WON'T REGRET IT! We have gone a few times since my last review and this time we were able to sit as a family and eat there. I always pick up n go and buy this time we were able to sit and enjoy there. We were given such great service and the food is delicious as always! It's 100% legit Mexican food!!!! We even had a leftovers and you better believe we ate them up quick. 5 Stars - A Great Meal & an Even Better Experience Funny how life works--I wasn't even planning to stop at Taco King, but my car (a Porsche, which the owner kindly complimented and said was his dream car!) broke down right in front of it. Talk about a happy accident! I ordered three asada tacos and two al pastor tacos, and they were absolutely incredible. The asada was tender and flavorful, while the al pastor had the perfect hint of sweetness and spice. Everything was fresh, and the flavors were spot on. Warning - the red hot sauce is HOT. But so good. What made the experience even better was the owner. He saw me outside, struck up a conversation, and we ended up having a really meaningful talk about mindset as parents. Such a genuine and kind person--you can tell he truly cares about his customers and his business. I may not have planned to stop here, but I'm so glad I did. Great food, great people, and an experience I won't forget. Definitely coming back--this time, on purpose! read more

5 Stars - Third Time's a Charm (and Still Counting!) This is my third visit to this gem of a spot, and every time I come, I leave full and happy! If you're craving authentic Mexican food that hits the soul, this place delivers every single time. The Tacos Plate -- Just wow. The tacos were loaded with tender, flavorful meat and topped generously with pinto beans, onions, cilantro, and crumbled cheese. The tortillas were perfectly crispy on the edges and soft in the center -- exactly how I love them. The side of beans and grilled peppers? Comfort food at its finest. The Burrito with Green Sauce -- Absolutely smothered in rich, tangy salsa verde and melted cheese. The inside was packed with goodness (you can tell they don't skimp on fillings), and it came with grilled onions and peppers that added a perfect smoky touch. Bonus: the chips and green salsa they bring out? Addictive. Like, I-need-a-second-bowl level good. What really stands out is the portion size (generous!), the flavor (rich and fresh), and the welcoming atmosphere. You feel like family here. I ordored 3 tacos: 1 pastor and 2 barbacoa the meats were flovirefull and the red salsa was good and spicy. The tacos also had cooked onions and chilies on top and a side of chips. The owner was very welcoming and even recommended a good meat market near by. I got my tacos to go but they have a covered outside patio to eat at. I would definitely come back. read more

OMG! When I tell you guys this is the best hard shell tacos I have had in a long time, I mean just that. I order 4 tacos but of course 1 didn't make it home. My food was prepared with so much love. It wasn't rushed or it was given to me sloppy. Henry did his thing on the grill. The same anointing that's on mama is upon him. Y'all have a customer for life. I'm still a bit speechless.. lived in Covina nearly all my life and didn't know anything about this gem until Hungry 4 Munchies reviewed it! From the hospitality to the food, easily over a 5 star rating! I've never had hard shell tacos as good as these right here. The meat was perfectly seasoned and the red and green salad.. perfection. This food is definitely made with passion. Not to mention the aqua Fresca! This is definitely a gem and will be added to my weekly rotation for good authentic Mexican food. read more

TOP NOTCH EXPERIENCE From the super delicious food to the best customer experience. We were super lucky to try Joe's new secret menu item. This quesadilla was fucking incredible ya'll. It was crispy, juicy, and really hit the spot. There are no words to truly relay the experience. You have to try it for yourself. We also got a grilled chicken burrito with fries in it as well as a carnitas burrito. The flavors were so rich and perfectly balanced. Not pictured because we got too excited to eat and forgot lol- be we also had birria and chorizo tacos that were equally amazing as the other dishes. All hits. No miss whatsoever. This is hands down the best mexican restaurant out here. We drove all the way from Rancho Cucamonga for this. So worth it Thank for everything, Joe!!! read more

Came here with friends for the first time today and we were all very pleased by the quality of the food. Everything tasted like it was made with love. My favorite part was the salsa verde on the lengua burrito, everything was packed with a rich flavor. The service was great, everyone working was very friendly and helpful. I asked for recommendations and they were able to help me choose something really delicious. I will definitely be returning to try more on the menu, thank you guys! read more
In terms of area for an appointment and found this on yelp and so glad I did! Small corner eatery with covered outdoor seating. Shared parking with a small market. Order from window with large menu posted. I was greeted warmly by the guy at the window who introduced himself as Herman. He's the proud hardworking owner of this branch of the business started by him dad when he was young. I asked him what he recommended, and he recommended the Al pastor burrito wet style. And it was delicious. I'd get it again, but I think I wanna try other things on the menu next time. Things are cooked when you order, so it does take about 10 to 15 minutes. I love that. They included a little foil with freshly grilled chili peppers and grilled onions that were steaming hot. The cucumber lime Agua Fresca was delicious and refreshing. I read a little bit about how he pays it forward and feeds the homeless. I asked him about it and he had the article there for me to read. I recently ordered the asada tacos here and they were absolutely delicious! The meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor. The tortillas were fresh, and everything was topped just right -- simple, authentic, and so satisfying. On top of the amazing food, the customer service truly stood out. Let's talk about this hidden gem! This place is amazing!! I've been here about 6-7 times and will be coming back. Everything is cooked and made fresh so there may be a little wait but the food is honestly so worth it and packed with so much flavor! Great taco tuesday deals and best al pastor taco i've had in a while. The tortilla chips are also fantastic and taste fresh fried - they're a mix of crispy and fall apart in your mouth almost like a buttery baguette. read more
I have visited several Mexican restaurants in between visits here and I just have to keep coming back because the others just do not measure up. I pondered why this was true. I believe it starts with the employees paying attention to the little things. They say if you watch the little things the big things are easy. So I brought my favorite food critic again, (The wife) for brunch. She wanted a chicken Taco salad and I was very interested in trying their popular rotisserie chicken. The chicken! Ok guys I have had Juan Pollo and Pollo Campero and knock offs in between. Big party trays or just lunch. I have to say I now know where I will fill my families chicken needs when I do not feel like doing it myself at home. The chicken had the best rub. I make my own and this was better and the chicken was cooked to the perfect doneness, so tender and juicy. The food critic proclaimed the chicken and her salad to be the best she ever had. I also tasted some amazingly crunchy taquitos! I found them to be so good just like the flautas and almost as large as them. Bring your appetite and wear stretchy pants when you plan a visit to the Taco King. El Rey will fill you up. I really loved the beans and guacamole and I can not get enough of the tasty salsa Roja. A nice little place with only outdoor seating. They have specials on different days of the week. We tried a couple of tacos which were good. We also tried the super king burrito (a 16 inch burrito), it was way to much food. I'd recommend this if you have a bunch of people to share it with, but it's not good as leftovers. I also tried the asada fries which was very comforting. The drinks look and are amazing! I got the cucumber lime. The staff are super nice and give amazing recommendations. read more

A Meal That Nourished More Than Just My Burrito Craving I came to this restaurant expecting to try what was called the best Mexican food in Azura--but what I walked away with was so much more than just an incredible meal. From the moment I stepped up to place my order, I could feel something special about the place, and that feeling only grew as I met Herman, the owner. Herman shared with my partner and I that he had taken over the family business from his father, and his passion for not just serving food, but planting seeds of kindness, encouragement, and community, was evident in every moment. He made us feel like more than just customers--like we were truly welcomed into something bigger. The food? 10/10. The chicken and asada burritos were by far one of the best I've had. But what made this visit extraordinary were the little moments. Herman went out of his way to make sure we felt at home, even taking a special song request from my partner, Fred, and playing it while we ate. As if that wasn't generous enough, he surprised us with complimentary cucumber aqua fresca and nachos, both of which were just as amazing as the rest of the meal. This wasn't just a great dining experience--it was the best I've had in a long time. I came for the food, but I left with a sense of warmth and gratitude, knowing that places like this, and people like Herman, still exist. THE BEST agua fresca I have ever had!! My favorite spot to come for tacos and the agua Frescas. Everything they have on the menu is delicious! Also the service is 5 stars and German makes you feel welcomed and at home. read more
