I've been coming to El Amigo for over 30 years and I would just like to say "If it's not broke, don't fix it". I've ordered the same thing every time I come and it's usually always on par. I've not been in a couple years since I've moved so far and I happened to be in the neighborhood so I went. They've changed everything. The beans, the rice, the amount of cheese in the burrito... just all different and not in a good way. I wish they would have just stayed with the old recipes. I got the beef fried tacos, they were amazing and my boyfriend got the asada torta and also was delicious. The gentleman in the counter was very attentive, we sat outside and he walked out there to ask us what salsa we wanted and then brought our food out to us. Usually love thier food, food is great, but for my drink they gave me a large horchata that tasted lukewarm and watered down. When I opened the lid there was no ice so I can only speculate that they gave me one that was sitting out for a while. I wanted a burrito. I didn't know what kind. I've passed this place a few times, so today was the day to actually go in! The menu here has plenty of options for breakfast and after-breakfast burritos. I settled in on a chimichanga. This was after asking many questions of the cashier because, again, I didn't know what kind of burrito I wanted. She was very patient, attentive and thorough with me. 10/10 great service. There was a nice breeze outside, but I opted to eat inside because I really enjoyed the soft Latin pop music playing inside, as well as the peaceful sounds coming from the kitchen. I almost thought I could hear one of the cooks singing. The chimichanga was a very nice size. Fried golden brown and crispy. It was filled well with tender shredded beef, beans, and cheese, and topped with more shredded cheese. Lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo were served on the side, along with small cups of red and green chile salsa. It was easy to get a perfect bite with this: slice off a hunk of chimichanga, slather on some guac or pico or sour cream, or a combo of these, then enjoy. The guacamole and the pico de gallo are both outstanding. This was a very good meal, and I would come here again. Great service, very good food, very relaxing atmosphere. I called and placed an order for a Chorizo burrito and medium Root beer, the guy on the phone took my order but he had an accent so I couldn't understand him. when my bf went to go pickup the order The guy told my boyfriend " Bacon Burrito" and my boyfriend said no it was a chorizo burrito. instead of making the chorizo burrito he charged my boyfriend for the chorizo burrito and the bacon burrito he had already made. I called and told the guy why would he charge my boyfriend for both instead of just remaking it to a chorizo burrito, the guy said he already made it. I told him the customer is always right I said a chorizo burrito , and he still denied and made it seem like I was in the wrong. i told him we have two burritos one we're not gonna eat and you still made money off of us. He wasn't understanding where I was coming from so I just hung up. They need to hire people who speak more clearly and don't have an accent that is hard to comprehend. I normally order it sooo plain just, hash browns egg whites and cheese because I hate the chunks of meat that most restaurants put inside of their burritos, but with this Resturant I decided to go out of my comfort zone since my husband raves about these burritos at least once a week. Been coming here since the late 80's seen a few ownership changes and was glad to see the recent owner make some physical changes but it kills me they did away the Chile Colorado Burrito. It was the best thing on the menu and unique as most Mexican food joints do not offer this. I mean it was the best. No other restaurant came close to the sweet rich sauce and tender chunks of beef this place once had. The chunks of beef were tender. So sad they did away with this burrito. They change it to shredded beef and then it eventually became a shell of itself as a red chile burrito. Not the same inferior in my opinion. Only come on rare occasions now. Just better options now but I would be a weekly customer if they were to bring this burrito back. Damn shame too?! read more

Review is for delivery: First time customer and will be back when craving hard tacos. My GF wanted chilaquiles, so we ordered the chilaquiles plate and two taco plate. Not what you would call traditional Mexican fare, but a mix which I am good with when craving hard tacos vs soft tacos. I saw some complaints about prices and I'm not in agreement with that. I thought they were fair, even though I probably paid more given most delivery app prices are higher than in store. Anyway, tacos had great flavor and lots of shredded beef. Came with beans and rice which was pretty good. I prefer my beans a little runnier and Spanish rice with more spice, but the flavors were there and fit the type of food i ordered. Chilaquiles was ordered with green sauce that had a kick to it with two sunny side up eggs, served with beans and potatoes. Was surprised about the potatoes, since the menu was not specific and my GF loves rice, but she ate from my plate so all is good. Potatoes could have been crispier, but my bad for not ordering them well done. But then again, had I known they came with potatoes instead of rice, I would have. The thing I liked the most was that they followed instructions for extra salsa, no onions with chilaquiles and pico on the side (because of the onions - my GF hates onions, but I love them) All in all happy with the order. The one thing I would change next time is to dine in or ask them to vent the to go containers. The tacos and chips in chilaquiles were no longer crispy after delivery. I would not recommend this place. I came here and placed an order due to a family member recommendation. They have been a Glendora resident for well over 20 years, and they said the food used to be really good but they heard it's changed. The food did change...and was mediocre at best. We tried a variety of items. Quesadilla, chicken hard shell tacos, taquitos, bean and cheese burrito and a veggie burrito. The price of the items is unusually high. One taco is $3, a quesadilla $5.65, bean and cheese almost $6, veggie burrito almost $7, 2 taquitos about $5. The order was well over $30 for food that just wasn't up to par. The portions of the food for the price was not worth it either. I wish i could give this place a 2nd chance, but after the unpleasant experience...I probably will not be returning. read more

Had dinner tonight at our fav Mexican restaurant in Glendora.. We literally eat here once a week. They started a new street taco event on friday and Saturday nights and we're def going to be back again for it. They had fresh made horchata & pineapple juice, fresh tortillas for our carne asada tacos, grilled peppers & green onions, plus these asada/cheese stuffed baked potato's that I've never had before but was 10/10 solid. The staff made everything to order & was so friendly. Plus, good customer service, parking was easy and the space felt clean. Dinner crowd was picking up quick, so go earlier than later. I appreciated the staff working as quickly as possible as the line was building. Food was worth the wait. Full menu is also available to order indoors. read more

One order of hard tacos with chicken and extra cheese and one hard beef taco and one chili relleno. The two pack had one chicken and one beef which my daughter doesn't eat. The chili relleno which I very often have was so full of seeds and so spicy it wasn't eaten. What a waste of money. This wasn't a Dash problem but El Amigo , one of my favorite go to places.
