I've always enjoyed coming to Casa Jimenez, and the food today was good as usual. However, I had a disappointing experience with the billing. I ordered the steak and eggs, which is listed on the menu for $21.85, along with a cup of coffee. When I received my check, I was being charged $34 before tax. I asked why, and I was told the steak was $28 because the eggs and hash browns were extra. I pointed to the menu, which clearly states that the steak and eggs are served with eggs and hash browns for $21.85. After bringing this up, it was obvious there was a discrepancy. Mistakes happen, but customers shouldn't have to catch them. I like this restaurant and have been here before, which is why this experience stood out. I hope they pay closer attention to their pricing moving forward. read more

Large open seating area with large menu. Always friendly service. Food is delicious and authentic with some non-authentic options for picky eaters. Menudo is fantastic, I usually have the higado encebollado. My son loves the ham and eggs, just have to ask for the ham steak to be diced up and mixed in with the eggs. The drinks are HUGE! Maybe breakfast isn't the best time to go. The salsa seems store bought or old? The guacamole is average, could use some lime or lemon. I got the huevos mexicana. The whole dish was unseasoned and the sides looked and tasted like leftovers. Nothing really worth coming back for. read more

Good seating area for breakfast- only 1 other table occupied at 9am. Only 1 person working the entire front of restaurant. The server asked if i wanted smaller plate for the huevas a la gringa. Thank you for the offer- only $8.95. He did not offer my 2 kids (10 and 13 years) any smaller plates for hashbrown and eggs or pancakes. He charged them the regular $12.95 and $13.95 plates. This location is untrue to the Casa Jimenez name. Worst of the locations that I have ever visited. They, to begin with, don't have the All You Can Eat Option which is a stable of this chain. The way they nickel and dime their customers I hope means they are paying their workers an extraordinary wage - extra chips are $2 and $1 for tortillas. I was with my dear friend at Casa Jimenez in Glendora for dinner last weekend. First time visiting for me and a returning customer on many occasions for my friend. Looking from the outside, restaurant didn't appear big, but once I walked in... whoa, it has very huge space. Really nice atmosphere with many booths and tables plus chairs. We chose a booth near the windows... got some good light! Menu is massive... they have super breakfast and breakfast... you pick LOL. Funny, it has a very handsome looking stallion on the cover of menu. Anyway, my friend and I ordered the same Item #48 Enchilada and Taco with rice and beans, but our meat was different for the taco... beef for her and chicken for me. We both got cheese enchilada. Taco was delicious! Chicken was flavorful in a homemade deep fried crispy shell. Size was perfect. Enchilada was just okay... cheese was a tad more solid than I would have liked... I prefer the stringy cheese type LOL. Rice was fluffy and beans were light... both were very tasty just the way I like them. Love my huge cup of water! Complimentary homemade chips and salsa... so good! Next time I'll have to buy some to-go LOL. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Service was fast. TVs are at every side of the restaurant. Great Food, Awful Service I genuinely enjoy Casa Jimenez's breakfast burritos and green salsa, but the service makes it hard to want to come back. The burritos are great--when they don't have hair in them--which has happened only once. The real issue, though, is the service. The hostess is miserable, and her attitude makes the whole experience unpleasant. The waitstaff isn't much better, and it feels like they're doing you a favor just by taking your order. I'd love to return for the food, but dealing with the staff is a major downside. If they improved their service and cleanliness, this place would be an easy favorite. 3/5 stars (only because the food is actually good). read more

We met my in-laws for Sunday breakfast because my in-laws really like the food here. We were seated at the end of a series of tables because my mother in-law has a hard time getting in and out of booths after multiple surgeries. The waiter did a great job tending to us and the other patrons and the food was good. The problem came toward the end when a large group came in and sat at the opposite end of the table grouping we were at. We were chatting and taking care of the check when a woman with dark wavy (manager/owner?) came to our table and took the salt and pepper shakers in her hand, then slammed the pepper shaker back on the table. We all had the impression that they were strongly hinting that it was time to leave so the other party could have our seats. They could've kindly mentioned that they needed our table, they could've put together another row of tables as there were many unoccupied tables available, they did neither. We were rushed out of our seating to make room for more. My in-laws left feeling bad because they visit the restaurant often, but were treated indifferently as if they were perfect strangers to the staff. Nothing but hustling patrons in and out to make more daily sales seems to be the priority of this restaurant. read more

We come back whenever we have a chance. Everything is always good and fresh. The portions are generous and there definitely leftovers that still taste just as good the next day. We went in a week ago Saturday. My husband ordered his favorite menudo, which he enjoyed. He said his iced tea tasted bad but didn't want to complain. My sister ordered carne asada burrito, she said the meat was gritty and not much flavor. My daughter ordered a burrito, it was okay. My grandson ordered hamburger and fries. He took a couple of bites from the burger and said he didn't like it. It was a pretty sad looking burger. We told him he shouldn't order a burger at a Mexican restaurant. I ordered posole which I have eaten a few times prior. I tasted the broth it had no flavor. I added some salsa and tasted it again with a little piece of the meat. It tasted bad like old meat. I told my sister that it didn't taste good, I didn't know if it was my taste buds were off. She tasted the posole and agreed it tasted bad. I told the waitress that it tasted bad. She took the plate away and asked if I wanted to order something else. I didn't want anything else because it really grossed me out. I was surprised that the waitress never apologized. In fact the only thing she said maybe the meat was in the freezer too long! My thoughts WTH!! I will not be returning to Casa Jimenez in Glendora. read more

Horrible service today! We came in for a late lunch at 2:30 PM. We were seated at the bar pretty quick, received chips and salsa and our drinks as well. After that, the ball was completely dropped. Customer service pretty much stopped.. restaurant wasn't real busy a couple people seated at the bar and then at the time we were the only ones seating in the sitting area at the bar. Another couple came in and sat behind us and all of a sudden we were ignored. So it felt like it was done on intent. We've been regular customers here, but apparently not as regular as the couple that walked in, figured maybe the lady actually owned the place that's how well they were taking care of her as we were ghosted. This was the worst service we've ever received coming here in four years. I understand that the restaurant is busy, but it wasn't busy. He was serving other people that came in after we did walking by us would not make eye contact. The whole thing felt intentional and that's fine because we won't come back. Apparently they didn't want to serve us today! My wife is so upset that we just asked for the bill to leave. They charged us $30 for three drinks and a side of guacamole after they refuse to take our order or even refill our drinks like I said we were just ghosted. So we paid the bill and now we're going to Carnitas Express to eat lunch since Jimenez didn't want to. We had another bad experience here a couple years ago and we stopped coming, but we decided to give it a second chance, we definitely won't be coming back, good job Casa Jimenez! read more

Went to breakfast a couple of weeks ago. Ordered chile verde with basted eggs. The chile verde was okay (mine is better but I didn't have to cook!) but the eggs that were served were poached, not basted, with 2 of the 3 yolks broken. Will not return. read more
