Clean establishment with beautiful decor. On the smaller side with about 12-14 tables. Has a large bar selection (no bar seating) for the drinker but it took them too long to seat us and take our order because they were too busy making drinks. So docked 1 star for that. Docked a second star because they only checked in on us and provided responsive service when it was time to pay the bill. No offers to refill drinks, no more chips or salsa, no "how's everything." Had a longer conversation with the couple next to us about what we like better about the Upland sister restaurant. We are regulars over there but were in the area so decided to try this place out. Portions larger here than at Pueblita, but no lard in beans and more vegetarian options here. This made my picky eaters happy but I prefer the beans at Pueblita. Queso fundido was very different here. More flavor but smaller portion (less cheese). We usually run out of tortilla at the other place but here this was barely enough for one tortilla. Chips seem homemade but our batch was a little over fried. Salsa was bland and very watery. The Torta was ok. A little bland for my taste and salty from the chile relleno. Best meal we ordered was my son's ham and eggs. Definitely larger portion than Pueblita which made my gigantic 9 yo very happy. Would come back for that plate again. Would I classify the food as authentic? Not really. Flavor here and there, used queso cotija, and some traditional items but more upscale than mom's home cooking. Overall it's a nice place to eat, the food is good, but it's not great. I don't know why Pueblita is better but I think it's the lard. Great place for a date night. Going to come back on a Tuesday for the fish taco because the couple next to us said it is the best. I will give it a try and see how it compares to my favorite Baja fish taco place. Until then, hoping for a bonus check because this place is not cheap for a family of three.

You guys do false advertising on your specials!! When I showed them the flyer they didn't know anything about it and I was charged full price this is the first time a server tells me I'm wrong and gets upset just because I tried to explain the flyer

Honestly, the food was exceptional and truly reminded me of my grandmother's home cooking. The meat was incredibly tender, and their salsa was absolutely outstanding, full of flavor and perfectly balanced. Their staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It was a wonderful dining experience, and we will definitely be back again soon.

This review is for the DineLA menu for summer 2025. We came by a few days back on a Friday night. Apparently, Friday night are live music nights which was cool. The whole restaurant was full and poppin' the moment we got in. We were seated quickly and near the DJ booth for the night. The service wasn't bad for a busy night. The DineLA menu is $35 per person with one appetizer and one main entree. We ordered the Guacamole and Nachos appetizers. For the main course we ordered the Chicken Fajitas and the Torta Chingona. Once the appetizers came out, all we could say was WOW!. The portions were generous and also we already given complimentary chips and salsa beforehand too. Then came the main course and WOW again!. Everything looked so delicious. The Torta was huge. A hefty and hearty sandwich for sure. It was cheesy and delicious. My wife's chicken fajitas were presented sizzling on a plate and with a side of rice and beans! We had so much food we were already full from the appetizers. We ended up taking the rest home. Overall, a good first visit with a special DineLA menu. I recommended popping in before DineLA ends to give it a try.

I was searching through Yelp and the DineLA website for participating restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley. This promotion is available through August 8, 2025. I did locate and bookmark a few on Yelp. Mi Sabor offers a Prix Fixe menu for lunch ($15), choose a taco or mini burrito combo. This deal includes a soft drink. The dinner menu is $35 for a two-course meal. Choose one Appetizer and Entree: Guacamole with Chips & Salsa, Nachos, Queso Fundido, or Street Corn (my selection). The Entrees are Tacos (Filet Mignon), Fajitas (Steak, Shrimp or Chicken), Torta Chingona (Steak and Chili Relleno), or Shrimp and Fish Al Ajo (my selection). The food was delicious, and a great value for the price. The service was excellent, with several employees checking to see if I needed anything. As a bonus, I came on a Friday evening when a music duet was performing. Per their website, live music is planned every Friday, some customers were dancing and singing along! The decor was beautiful with several art pieces on display. The booths and high-top tables had candles or mini lamps throughout the restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will return on a regular basis. They are located on the infamous Route 66, close to the 210 and 57 freeways. There is plenty of free parking in the shared lot. Check them out, sincerely, Rosemary.

I did a review back in 2022 and back then everything was great, the service, food, portions, drinks. I feel like service has been I don't want to say getting worse but I think maybe it's because they don't have enough staff. The wait time is short now compared to before but I've been having to ask for chips and salsa and the waiters take a while to come back to check on you. The food is still tasting amazing but the alcoholic drinks don't have enough alcohol in them. I really love this place and I want to keep supporting them. My running group is due to meet up here next week so I'm hoping for the best.

Came here after a funeral. The family reserved the entire place. They treated everyone with great kindness, very respectful to the family and guest. The service was very good. Ambiance is nice plenty of parking, inside Resturant is clean and definitely a Mexican touch for sure with a Mexican icon wall. , the food tastes pretty darn good. Definitely will be bk.

Made a reservation for a Friday night out with friends. The place is well decorated with Grinchmas theme and it is so cute for a photo op. Ordered the fajita trio and it was delicious. They also have a great selection of signature drinks. It's a pretty small resto bar so it fills up quickly as the night goes by. Highly suggested to make a reservation. The entertainment/ live music every Friday night completes a great dining experience.

We sought out this restaurant specifically for their mole based on a review I read. "Sweet & spicy, reminded them of home cooking". Well...sad to say it missed the mark. The mole was on the watery side, lacking the traditional flavor. It was perhaps their recipe of putting their own twist on the dish, however it was also disappointing that the chicken they used was strips of fajita chicken :/ Wet burrito was decent...would give it a 7/10. On a positive note, I was impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant and although I didn't try any cocktails, they seem to offer an extensive variety of their own mixed drinks. I will return one more time to try something else..but I hope management sees this review and gives their mole sauce another look.

Food is authentic and delicious , ambiance is neatly decorated with loteria decor. I had the sopes, they were very tasty, the only thing i would prefer is not having lettuce on my sopes, other than that I'd say delicious. I'd definitely return to try other plates.

Are there Happy Hour specials and, if so, what days/times?

Do they take reservations? Father's Day?

They might just give them a call

Still, $14 for a burrito and $19 for a chile verde plate is pricey. Is it really worth it?

I'll give my candid answer. I paid $18 for enchiladas con mole for my wife. However, I ordered the Chicken Mole Sabina style. The sauce tasted different from my wife's enchiladas. The chicken was thigh meat. For $18, they should use breast meat. No.

The food looks really good but can anyone tell me why this place is so EXPENSIVE? $18 for a burrito and $22 for chile verde?

It’s less than that, where did you get this pricing, maybe look at their online menu.

The place is definitely…read morepopular and the atmosphere is nice, especially if you can get patio seating, which I thought had a much better overall vibe than sitting inside. But the food itself was kind of hit or miss for me. I ordered the OG breakfast with bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast. The potatoes were pretty soft and not very crispy, and the bacon was also on the soft side with quite a bit of fat still on it. The eggs, even though they say they aren't powdered, kind of had that soft, watery texture that reminded me of powdered eggs. Nothing terrible, just not really what I was expecting for the price. A few days earlier I tried the chorizo breakfast burrito and honestly liked that better. I think everything mixed together in the burrito worked better flavor-wise and texture-wise. Service was also kind of average. The servers were friendly and did check on us, but they seemed a little overloaded and stretched thin trying to do too many things at once. On a previous visit, service was a little slow and we had to ask for coffee a few times. One small thing that oddly kind of took away from the experience was the ketchup situation. They use tiny ketchup packets instead of bottles, so if you actually want ketchup for your potatoes or eggs you end up opening a bunch of little packets just to get enough on your plate. It just felt a little strange considering they have full-size Tabasco bottles on the tables. The bigger issue for me was the value. For two people, breakfast came out to around $42 before drinks, and the portions weren't especially large. Compared to somewhere like Black Bear Diner where you can split a huge chicken fried steak breakfast and still spend significantly less even with coffee, it just didn't feel worth the price to me. I'm not saying the place is bad, some menu items are probably better than others, but based on what I ordered, I thought it was a little overpriced for food that was mostly just okay, and kinf of bland (no salt or flavor). My advice would be to choose carefully off the menu.

The coffee tastes like a clean, bitter, cold brew with a foamy top. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 4% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) on Thursday (around 12:13PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a side lot for customers; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Staff is courteous, no-nonsense, and diligent. Staff worked hard. Staff quickly answered all my questions. My coffee took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew ($9 - Large - 24oz). The coffee is very standard. It tastes exactly like any imagined cold brew coffee. Personally, the roast tasted a little burnt, but it's a common, familiar coffee flavor. The strength was weak for a nitro, but the HUGE SIZE and affordability balances it all out. This is a functional, budget drink. On ambiance, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a HUGE success. There's a lot of utility. The location has a self-serve water station, public internet with no password, stacked high chairs for children, two game corners (ex: Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Uno Cards, Etc), and about one available electrical outlet. I also appreciated the retro, upbeat music and 1930s movie decor. In addition, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) has plenty of seating. There's about four interior tables, but there's also 16 outside patio tables. The location is clean, well-maintained, and well ventilated. Overall, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a good, local neighborhood spot. It offers affordable choice that are prepared "good enough." I wouldn't drive a long distance for this spot, but it's a decent option if you're already nearby. 4.5 out of 5

If you plan on visiting, I definitely recommend taking a peek at their large menu online before you get there so you have an idea of what you want. The inside is a bit small with only a few tables and a little area to order, but the outdoor space really makes up for it. The staff was amazing in guiding my family and me toward the best food options for what we were craving. I ended up ordering the B.T.S.A. sandwich, which was a lovely combination of toasted bread, mayo, avocado, spinach, bacon, and tomato. It was a well-balanced comfort meal that really filled me up. For the side, I chose the cucumber over the fruit and sprinkled a little salt on top, making it a perfect pairing. I enjoyed the whole meal with an iced tea and really look forward to trying it again. I would love to come back on the weekend if I can manage to find a parking spot!
