Easily my favorite diner in the San Dimas area. It's a traditional American diner right in the heart of downtown San Dimas on what looks like good old-fashioned Main Street America. Parking in this area is extremely easy, there is a parking lot in the rear, but we were able to find a free space right out front. Inside is also very large with many different seating areas and seating options. Our waitress was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out fast and at a fair price. The menu is really large and filled with all sorts of great American diner classics. I had heard so much about their Country Fried Steak and overheard many other diners ordering it before me so that's what I chose for my breakfast and I was extremely satisfied with it. It was a large cut of meat and it had great flavor. The eggs were also cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed them. I got a biscuit on the side, which was pretty small, but the flavor was really nice, I just wish it was larger in size. Overall I would suggest to any diner fan in the area.

I have been coming to Roady's since I was a little girl! I was telling my boyfriend who I brought here that I used to come here every Sunday after church with my whole family and the restaurant would be packed. I haven't been back here on a weekend, but I try to come here and there during the weekdays and as expected, it's not as busy as the weekends. I was really happy to see Beverly who is one of their long time servers. I've known her ever since I was a little girl and now I'm in my 20s so you could only imagine how long she's been serving for Roady's. Her customer service is always top tier and it's always great to see her. I've only been here for breakfast and I honestly love their food! It's made with love and their breakfast is so delicious! I know they are open until 7pm but ive never had them for lunch or dinner, but ive always just known Roady's as a breakfast spot. I will say that the restaurant is a little run down, but it's honestly one of those spots where it's okay to see the torn up booths and mismatched chairs. It's nostalgic to see the place the same way it was since I was kid, but it would also be cool to see a remodel!

Food was delicious you can tell it was made with love. All items we ordered which was the basic American food such as pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy were cooked to perfection. No complaints, as well. My server Lorena was very attentive and made us laugh. She gave us all what we needed in condiments and refilled drinks. We will definitely return.

This place has such a homey atmosphere. The people who work here are always so friendly and sweet. Food is tasty and fresh as well. Great for every meal! They have a variety on their menu and always have specials up on their board to choose from. You never have to ask for a refill and they are on top of everything! Recommend 100%!

Will always come back to Roady's. Love the city that surrounds this diner. The feel of the diner itself takes you back in time a bit. Has that home feeling. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Food options are great and portions are perfect. The whole family loves Roady's. And if you have a furry friend, there's outside seating so even they will enjoy. Stop by and enjoy breakfast or lunch.

    Welcome to ROADY'S RESTAURANT. #SanDimas #OldTown

Roady's Restaurant is a quaint Mom n Pops diner in San Dimas CA. It's a popular family-style diner offering a cozy atmosphere and modest American cuisine. The decor is pretty consistent with Old town's history giving a 1950's-60's appearance and vibe. I arrived on a Saturday morning as a first time customer, and sat at the bar. Their paper menu has most of the basic breakfast and lunch American cuisine. I ordered their classic French Toasts with strawberries, OJ and coffee. Their FT was banal in flavor and taste. (Syrup and butter available upon request! My goodness!) Reg Coffee was okay. Server forgot to give my OJ; thus, I cannot comment on its quality. Roady's very spacious with huge indoor seats as well as their front street patio. Prices seem fair for the area. Service was on point but tend to forget your drink order. I wanted to see if she'd remembers but did not. I abhor that. But I'm glad she remembered not to charge me on my bill. No tip was rendered. Overall, it's an old town's diner with a hit or miss service. I'm reticent to recommend this diner spot.

Good traditional breakfast spot. Sat in the outdoor patio with my dog. Service was attentive with multiple servers offering coffee refills. Coffee is on point! Setting reminiscent of an old school diner you'd be more likely to find in a small town rural area rather than just miles from Los Angeles. Very much a home town diner feel

Basic cafeteria tasting food. Seems like you need to be over 50 to enjoy it, more like a senior restaurant. Kids choices were fine.

But the food itself was kind of hit or miss for me. I ordered the OG breakfast with bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast. The potatoes were pretty soft and not very crispy, and the bacon was also on the soft side with quite a bit of fat still on it. The eggs, even though they say they aren't powdered, kind of had that soft, watery texture that reminded me of powdered eggs. Nothing terrible, just not really what I was expecting for the price. A few days earlier I tried the chorizo breakfast burrito and honestly liked that better. I think everything mixed together in the burrito worked better flavor-wise and texture-wise. Service was also kind of average. The servers were friendly and did check on us, but they seemed a little overloaded and stretched thin trying to do too many things at once. On a previous visit, service was a little slow and we had to ask for coffee a few times. One small thing that oddly kind of took away from the experience was the ketchup situation. They use tiny ketchup packets instead of bottles, so if you actually want ketchup for your potatoes or eggs you end up opening a bunch of little packets just to get enough on your plate. It just felt a little strange considering they have full-size Tabasco bottles on the tables. The bigger issue for me was the value. For two people, breakfast came out to around $42 before drinks, and the portions weren't especially large. Compared to somewhere like Black Bear Diner where you can split a huge chicken fried steak breakfast and still spend significantly less even with coffee, it just didn't feel worth the price to me. I'm not saying the place is bad, some menu items are probably better than others, but based on what I ordered, I thought it was a little overpriced for food that was mostly just okay, and kinf of bland (no salt or flavor). My advice would be to choose carefully off the menu.

The coffee tastes like a clean, bitter, cold brew with a foamy top. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 4% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) on Thursday (around 12:13PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a side lot for customers; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Staff is courteous, no-nonsense, and diligent. Staff worked hard. Staff quickly answered all my questions. My coffee took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew ($9 - Large - 24oz). The coffee is very standard. It tastes exactly like any imagined cold brew coffee. Personally, the roast tasted a little burnt, but it's a common, familiar coffee flavor. The strength was weak for a nitro, but the HUGE SIZE and affordability balances it all out. This is a functional, budget drink. On ambiance, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a HUGE success. There's a lot of utility. The location has a self-serve water station, public internet with no password, stacked high chairs for children, two game corners (ex: Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Uno Cards, Etc), and about one available electrical outlet. I also appreciated the retro, upbeat music and 1930s movie decor. In addition, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) has plenty of seating. There's about four interior tables, but there's also 16 outside patio tables. The location is clean, well-maintained, and well ventilated. Overall, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a good, local neighborhood spot. It offers affordable choice that are prepared "good enough." I wouldn't drive a long distance for this spot, but it's a decent option if you're already nearby. 4.5 out of 5

If you plan on visiting, I definitely recommend taking a peek at their large menu online before you get there so you have an idea of what you want. The inside is a bit small with only a few tables and a little area to order, but the outdoor space really makes up for it. The staff was amazing in guiding my family and me toward the best food options for what we were craving. I ended up ordering the B.T.S.A. sandwich, which was a lovely combination of toasted bread, mayo, avocado, spinach, bacon, and tomato. It was a well-balanced comfort meal that really filled me up. For the side, I chose the cucumber over the fruit and sprinkled a little salt on top, making it a perfect pairing. I enjoyed the whole meal with an iced tea and really look forward to trying it again. I would love to come back on the weekend if I can manage to find a parking spot!

It's eggs over hot rice and covered with hot gravy. Suggesting to barely cook the eggs on the grill and then but on rice and let the hot rice and gravy finish cooking the eggs. Just saying. Even on the avocado toast the eggs came out overcooked. I mention this, hoping that someone from the restaurant will read this and talk to the chef. I REALLY do like the food and I can deal with overcooked eggs but it would be better if they cooked the eggs as ordered or just don't ask anymore how to cook the eggs because they all come out the same. I asked my table neighbor if their eggs came out how they ordered and they said no but because it tastes good like me they don't say anything. I know the place gets really busy and I do enjoy coming because the vibe is good. The coffee and other drinks are good too. I will return because it's worth it and I enjoy coming .
