We love the food and service here. It's the only Mexican spot we do as locals. The paintings and music are enjoyable too.

If you stay on Route 66 long enough, you will find this place near the outskirts of Glendora. They are quick to sit you down and promptly arrive with hot chips and salsa. I absolutely love the customer service here! Walking in the entrance, you will find a black gate around the property. If you head to the left of the door, you will find an entry way or if you walk in through the center of the parking lot there is a swinging fence door. Once you get inside they will tell you to sit wherever you like! Lots of booths, and windows, too! Today, I tried the Bistek Ranchero which was a perfect big juicy steak underneath a savory Rachero sauce topped with Jalapeños, Bell Peppers, Tomato, and melt in your mouth grilled Onions. They offered guacamole on the side, corn or flour tortillas and rice and beans. It was about $20 and absolutely worth it. The food came promptly, with the help of the staff. They were running around this place... it was pretty busy around 6pm Friday but it cleared out quick! read more

I haven 't been to a "Casa Jimenez that I haven't liked. This Casa Jimenez is located in Glendora, tucked inside a small shopping center. Its a clean restaurant with ample seating. Service here is always wonderful. The waitress I had on my last visit was so sweet to my little kiddos, pleasant and she had a such a great attitude. There is a lot on their menu that I haven't tried but their Chili relleno and Green Suiza Chicken Enchilada plate is my favorite. The Chili relleno has just enough spice and melted cheese...delicious. Enchillada is just as good, they don't skimp on the shredded chicken inside and the green sauce also isn't overly spicy. Both are definitely flavorful and served hot. Highly likely that I'll go back. read more

Recently came by here in the last hour of being open on a week night. The staff was friendly and the place was quiet. Only 1 other client and a couple take out orders while we were there. We got large glasses and still were offered refills. As well we were offered a refill on chips & salsa. The chips were fresh and salsa was tasty. The food was good. I ordered a chili verde burrito and my wife ordered the taquitos plate. Very filling - I probably could have just ate half and saved half for lunch the next day. We Noticed as we finished our meal that it appeared the chefs left. This is probably 10 minutes restaurant closed. We weren't quite sure that was the chefs or the kitchen crew, and we had intended to get a to go order for our son at home. When we asked for a to go order, they let us know that the kitchen staff had left already, but I asked what we were trying to get and we told them we weren't picky maybe a bean and cheese burrito the gentleman went to the back put it together for us. That was very nice. All in all our total was about $40 for the dining and the takeout, which is reasonable. They are conveniently located on the corner of Route 66 and lone hill in Glendora - right off the 210. There is plenty of parking. read more

I don't know what it is about a long hike that makes me crave Mexican food (specifically, Mexican food!). I'm not one to fight these kinds of urges. We had to drop off some donations at the Goodwill next door and one glance told me that CJ was open for biz! In we went. It is more than spacious inside (you don't get that crammed feeling like you do in some restaurants/diners) and has an eclectic, old school, style. When I placed our order, it felt less like ordering from a server at an establishment and more like asking for food from my Mexican husband's aunt. I am not a big fan of Mexican food; we came here for a family celebration. I was very satisfied as their food was good and tasty. Chips and salsa were fresh and seemed to be made to order. We had excellent service and our waitress made sure we were taken well care of and refilling our coffee and drinks. Our food was brought out hot and in a timely manner. I visited this restaurant today with a party of 25 ( pre reserved) and this was the first time I had been here. I know it isn't easy taking care of a party of 25, we only had one server assigned to us. I didn't get her name but overall she was great and got everyone's order correct. I ordered the machaca plate & it was very good. The food here was good and everything came out nice & hot. Since I live 10 minutes away I will definitely come back and try the menudo, since I heard it's really good. Came here with my friend after hiking one morning. Service was good. Food is served in large portions, more then enough to share. I ordered the Carne asada and chiliquiles which I was able to save half for lunch because it was so big. The carne was tender and the chiliquiles were just the right spicy. I ate there for the first time today. I wanted to see how it compared to say Pepe's on Azusa Ave. Ordered a #10. Really really good. Prices were about the same as Pepe's. The portions seemed a little smaller. And wanted to charge $2.00 for more chips. Their salsa is really good. I'm sure they make it in house. Their menu is a lot bigger than Pepe's. I love the seafood selection. Where as Pepe's only has fish and shrimp. I like that they have Floutas. Not many places have those. My only disappointment was out of everything they have. They don't have Tripas which I love. If they put Tripas on the menu I would go there at least once a week. Not many Mexican places have it. All in all I would go back for the seafood, Molcajete and their biggest sea food platter. read more

Been coming for years. They must have gotten new owner AND a new cook supossedly. Food is still good but they're playing fast & loose with the menu. Items are NOT as pictured - especially the kids menu. Got some taquitos the other day. No guac or s/c even though it's pictured. Today we were charged $1.50 for a bowl of chips with no werewithal. Told nothing about the charge by server AND it is NOT on the menu. Woof! Friend told me something I did not know. I knew the guy had attitude but didn't know he could be enough of a jerk to pick & choose WHO he charged for the secondary chips! Turns out they did not charge other tables. He was angry over a question of why the kids meal I ordered for my daughter LAST TIME (as a to-go) did not include the guac and s/c. Waiter told me it does not come with it which was fine since she doesn't like guac with "stuff in it" (re: onion, tomato, etc). Thing is, when we went today the picture in menu shows it being included. ‍ Just odd to see that, you know? Evidently the guy thought we had ordered it TODAY. Nah, uh! He was growling that we should not have been eating a kids meal anyway since it's for children. Corrected him on that point. He had the decency to look embarrassed for about five seconds before growling he "wasn't going to change the menu for one item". We weren't telling him to change the menu. Just tell folks about extra charges (the chips) or that guac/sour crm are by request on a kids meal. He wasn't going to listen to anything, though. I came in to try the pozole. It didn't disappoint, it's very good. It tasted home made and right on the condiments. I totally recommend Casa Jiménez in Glendora. The salsa and chips are freshly made as well. The service was great as well, it didn't delay my seating even thought I came in for lunch on a busy Sunday. Horrible. I went in and right away the cashier had no face mask. The other lady cleaning was taking her mask on and off as she mopped and the cook had no mask at all. This is 7/272020. Came here to have brunch for my mom's birthday. The place was busy when we walked in but we were seated quickly. There's a mural of cowboys on the wall and they had some Valentine's Day flowers near where the waiters pick up orders. My go-to Mexican restaurant order is a two cheese enchilada combo, all beans/no rice. Over the past couple of years, I've been continually disappointed by local restaurants' inability to prepare such a basic dish competently. So I have embarked on a quest to find the best cheese enchilada combo in the San Gabriel Valley. We have lived in Glendora for more than 20 years and finally tried Casa Jimenez. I decided to give the place a try, even though its location next to Goodwill is less than spectacular. The server greeted us enthusiastically and invited us to sit where wanted on the patio. I ordered the combo plus a margarita on the rocks, with salt. Casa Jimenez absolutely nailed the combo plate! From the taste of the enchilada sauce to the freshness of the ingredients, and of course the hot plate, I enjoyed every bite of the meal. When I explained to our server my quest to find the best two cheese enchilada combo plate in the area, she willingly brought me an additional mole enchilada and salsa verde enchilada. Both were also delicious. Why only four stars you ask? One of the reasons I order my margaritas on the rocks is because I want it to be special - I don't want a slush from a machine and I don't want margarita mix. This drink was heavy on the mix and light on the tequila. The tajin was a nice touch, though! Next time I'll just order Corona to go with my enchiladas. Delicioso! read more

OMG SI Bueno, Haven't been here in a few months ,the food, the service was fantastico. Place ,was very busy tonight and the waiter the two waitresses were so on point helping all their customers. A few other Mexican restaurants in the area, I think are taking advantage of their customers. I'm glad I've come back to casa Jimenez. Yummy . Our waitress Jessica, was the bomb. The waiter that's been there for a while is so on top of everything. I guess the two new waitresses are new. Both are very friendly very knowledgeable and they're good at their job bottom line all three of them. Strictly speaking on the Caldo de res at the Glendora location. It's the closest to homemade Caldo that I've had at any Mexican restaurants hole in the wall or chain. Obviously its not going to compare to your abuelitas Caldo but it definitely is a great alternative. read more

It's been a while since we came here to eat but one never forgets bad food and bad service. We arrived and there was only a couple sitting in the dining room. The waiter wasn't pleasant, perhaps having a bad day. Pre-pandemic visit. AMBIANCE Nothing to rave about but it was clean and I appreciate that! SERVICE Well, As mentioned above it was lacking. We opted for ordering from an all you can eat menu option to try a variety of their food selections. Waiter was hard to flag down and we were the only ones there with another couple. We often found ourselves without food and waiting for him to come by and order our next items we wanted to try. Our drinks were often dry. Just a bad experience over all. Again, perhaps he wasn't feeling well or was having a bad morning. FOOD We ordered from a lunch special that allows us to order a variety of foods found on the menu. We thought what a wonderful way to sample several of their food items considering we were there for the first time. The items were lacking meat, flavor and were packed with cheese. My son and I are both lactose intolerant like a handle a little bit of cheese, however these were drenched in cheese and found it difficult to enjoy. The salsa was decent but it was difficult to get more because our waiter would disappear. I do want to give them two more opportunities and order a single item versus their all you can eat menu. We will go for breakfast and return for lunch and keep you posted on what we think. Keep in mind that I've been noticing post pandemic food items are not quite as tasty as he once were in some restaurants. I understand perhaps he can access their same ingredients and or the cooks have gotten sick and they have new cooks in the back. I'm hoping for a better result this time. RESTROOM I didn't access the restroom because I didn't have to go while we were there. On my next trip I will make certain and visit the restroom to insert the review here. PRICES If the food had been acceptable, I would have said the prices were reasonable. Considering all we got was cheese and tortilla on everything, oh yes, let's not forget the tons and tons of lettuce on everything, it was quite expensive. OVERALL EXPERIENCE Like I mentioned before we will try this place two more times. This time we will order from the single item menu and try our favorite foods from a Mexican restaurant. I'm hoping the service is excellent this time because I don't care how good the food is if the service is bad I won't go back. Updated review coming soon!
