You will see, they are genuinely nice. As far as the ambience goes, for certain a stro g 4 out of 5. Nothing can be more comforting than to sit back and relax here. I'm obsessed with chilaquiles, so I'm always looking for new places to try. I'm still looking for a really good spot that makes the way I like. I got the breakfast burrito, and it was really good with the sauce. I liked the bacon in it, and it was huge. But without the sauce, it tasted pretty plain, just like a regular burrito with eggs. Of course, I ordered the chilaquiles, but I was disappointed. I specifically wanted dry chilaquiles, and that's what | ordered. I know the sauce usually makes the tortilla chips soft, but these were really wet and soggy. It honestly felt like it had been sitting out for a while because the food wasn't hot. The flavor was good, but I'm not a fan of soft or too soggy chips. Also, they thought our order was for dine-in, so they gave us chips. When we told them it was to-go, they took the chips back. I was hoping they would still give us chip takeout, but they didn't, which was really disappointing. Super excited about this place due to the good reviews on Yelp. The place is small with a few tables. We sat in the middle bar because there were no other tables available. We got complimentary totopos (chips), pico de gallo, red salsa and refried beans to start. Wow! The refried beans were sooooo good! So flavorful! The chips were delicious too. You can tell they're homemade. The cashier was nice when taking our order. The menudo had good flavor but we didn't care for the hominy since we're not use to eating it with menudo, only with pozole. The meat was cut in tiny pieces. We also had the chilaquilicious chilaquiles which consisted of the chilaquiles with carne asada, bacon and eggs. 1/2 salsa roja and 1/2 salsa verde. The portion was good, however the green salsa can use more flavor. It seemed plain. The red one was better for my taste, it had a Smokey chipotle flavor. Not hot at all. The carne asada could use more salt or seasoning too, seemed a little plain. We tried their salsa macha (chili oil) omg soooo goood and the perfect amount of spiciness. Door dashed our meals today. This is our first time trying this restaurant. I ordered the chilaquilicious which comes with 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and Asada and refried beans. The bacon was under cooked. The chilaquiles were just okay. The asada was bland. Husband ordered the torta de milanesa but they were out of that so they sent him the asada torta instead. He was unhappy about that. He could have chosen something else if given the choice. The torta was all bread with very little meat. Bread was not even toasted. It was dry. Unfortunately, the customer service really set the tone--employees had sour expressions, no smiles, and it felt like we were bothering them just by ordering and even more when they were cooking the food. Definitely could use some customer service training. As for the food, it was just okay overall. My chilaquiles were pretty bland, and the carne asada was tough with very little flavor. I had asked for the sauce on the side because I don't like soggy chilaquiles I like mine with a crunch and then said no. Which is strange bc I could have just added my own sauce after it was warmed up, whatever. My husband's plate wasn't impressive either. He asked for tortillas and they came out stale and cold, like they were barely heated. I decided to give this place a try and was an ok experience. $14.41+tax for just chips and salsa and potatoes was not worth it. If I wanted egg then it was an extra cost.. I am sorry but it was not deliciously enough for me to come back. I do got to admit that the girl that took my order was really nice. I would recommend to improve their chilaquiles by adding the egg and refried beans no matter. Chilaquilicious most definitely lives up to their name and the great previous reviews!! My Chilaquiles, was the "Veggie" option, and I'm not vegan. But I love mushrooms. So finding out they did a Chilaquiles with mushrooms and onions on the menu. I KNEW I had to order them! They are BOMB. And what I love about a proper Chilaquiles is chips that STAY crisp, even after being "sauced and tossed" I will say I love the red more than the green. Green is more on the spicy side. I do wish the mushrooms were fresh, because these seemed canned. But they were still delish. We did order cafe de olla, and only got regual4 coffee but the food made up for the loss.
