    Al Pastor Burrito
    Andy T.

I was craving Mexican food and also was looking for a restaurant with a quick service. I stumbled across Taco El Superior and noticed it had a drive thru, so this was an obvious choice to me at the time. After arriving, it had a short line in the drive thru before I could order. This was at around 7:00 pm. I ordered the al pastor burrito with everything on it. This dish didn't taste overwhelming but it also felt like it was missing something. So I'd consider it a 3/5. Perhaps it could have used a bit more pineapple, since there was only a couple of slices. The green sauce was also a decent addition. For the Quesabirria, it was definitely a very salty dish. The meat was tender and it had a lot of cheese. This was a 4/5. Despite having a drive-thru, it did take 15 minutes before I could get my order. I was waiting at one of the parking lanes. It looks like they have an option to order online, so that might be my best recommendation to save time. This spot accepts American Express.

Los tacos de al pastor son los mejores que he probado! Lo único negativo que tiene este lugar es que nunca contestan el teléfono cuando quiero ordenar comida, si mejoran eso sería excelente.

So disappointed with service and food. This is usually a great spot for a bean and cheese burrito. I ordered the regular not the mini and this is what I got tonight. What is this? Also, was a pick up order so fairly simple. The 4 people working could barely look up to say hi and took them a minute or two to say they'd be right with me. Had to just say I was there for a pick up order. I feel as soon as we started seeing those kiosk and more of a franchise feel, which it is. But it felt local before and quality was better. It's gone downhill unfortunately and I'm really sad to see this happen!

I was craving tacos got the #3 combo it was nice and cheesy The food was great good service don't forget the agua fresca

This is my go to California burrito spot, their fries stay crispy and their al pastor is so flavorful and moist. I'm here probably once a month and have never had a bad experience flavor wise. The salsa roja is SPICY. Their drinks are excellent too, especially the piña fresca, and they do special seasonal drinks that I always enjoy. Other reviews say the tacos are greasy but I haven't had that problem. Service is sub par at best. I usually have a decent experience but I always order "no cilantro or raw onion" and maybe 50% of the time they put it in anyway. There was also one time I was there on a Thursday when all drinks are 50% off. I was initially charged full price for 2 drinks, and when I said something about it all of the employees working were confused and said they didn't know about that deal. I pointed to the advertisement on the wall of the business and said that's always been their Thursday deal. The employee working the register put in the computer buy one get one 50% off, and could not understand that that is 25% off not 50% off each drink. The manager ended up coming and just giving me cash back for the overcharge. The employees are nice, but they truggle with basic skills and could probably use more training.

I've only tried the asada fries here and it's pretty good. It is pretty pricey though. Anyway, comes with onions, cilantro, and jalapeños. The red sauce has good heat with it too. Def coming back when I'm feeling rich and fat.

I really wish they offered an "All Meat Only" option on Uber Eats. Every time I order and select cilantro and onion only, my burrito still comes with rice and beans. It's frustrating when the customization doesn't go through correctly. Please add an option for "All Meat Only" to make ordering easier and avoid mix-ups.

    Birria Mulita
    Maria S.

First time ordering from this place, their photos looked good, we decided to try it: 1 Mulita, 2 Tacos, 1 Sope and a Burrito - total came out to $70 - kinda hesitated but decided to give it a try.... In My opinion, NOT worth the price (AT ALL). Burrito was overpowered with Beans and Rice that couldn't tell there was meat in it. Mulita - heavily on the oil, tasteless- I could taste the grease more than the actual Mulita Tacos - TINY TINY TINY -flavorless Sope - you couldn't even see the actual tortilla or meat - it was full engorged in Sour Cream and cheese - when taking a bite you're met with An unexpected amount of beans - there were tiny pieces of scraps of meat in there and a empowering taste of something that went bad - really bad after taste- Definitely Not a recommendable place from me - HARD PASS

This kind of Mexican restaurant is right up my alley. Great food, stiff drinks, excellent service, and lively atmosphere. Oh, and plenty of chips and salsa!! I had the two tacos combination platter (one beef, one chicken) w/ a skinny jalapeño margarita. Along w/ guacamole to accompany the chips and salsa for the table - this meal was incredible. I could've walked out and gotten hit by a bus and would've been happy that this was my last meal. We were seated upstairs and it was a little more intimate and cozy w/ low ceilings (look out tall people!). Service was so on point, we never had to rubberneck once, the servers were always present without being overbearing. Not sure if there is dedicated parking for the restaurant, but there was plenty of street parking during Sunday afternoon. I think I found my new favorite Mexican spot in the Covina/Azusa area!!

The evening we went the restaurant was 80% full. The staff greeted us when we walked in. I believe one of the gentleman might have been the owner himself. He was super welcoming . The restaurant has great decor all over the restaurant and a lively atmosphere. The staff that helped us were all attentive and personable. We were given chips and salsa shortly after seating. I love the locations that offer fresh crispy chips. I ended up ordering one of Desebrada Shredded Beef Burrito (wet) and they told me I could do the half red and green sauce. I also ordered one of the Chicken Dorado (crunchy taco). My wife ordered a taco combo plate and Jalapeño Vodkarita. The portions were generous and abundant. My burrito was hefty! I enjoyed every bite of that wet burrito. Saucy and full of deliciousness. The affordable pricing is great because of the amount of food. The taco was fine, but I'd got with a burrito again since you can take the rest home. My wife enjoyed her food and drink. We had never been here in all these years. Max's Mexican Cuisine will be on our list again when are craving some Mexican food. ( ^_^)b

Service: 5 out of 5 their employees are very pleasant and professional. They gladly answer all your foodie ingredient questions. They are more than accommodating. They have hi tables woth stools, as well as the hybrid style booth/table combo. Fans are always circulating and it is definitely not too stuffy. They do have music playing in the background, but it is not too loud like many places do. We have been back to try new and different dishes....all have been very tasty. A smaller and cozy place to have a nice meal. I can tell they cater to the local college students and offer a student discount. ***Hidden Bonus: their café de la olla is DELICIOUS! You can twll they make it fresh regularly and do not let it sit. It is by far waaaaay nicer than what they serve anywhere in the area. We would drive to get a nice cup in Monrovia, but this café de la olla beats it hands down. It is NOT bitter, nor is it over sweetened! So.etimes we swing by for a To-good cup. I could not resist the Cafe de Olla (Mexican coffee brewed with a cinnamon stick), this was served with two cookies in a ceramic mug. This is how you would be served in someone's home.
