When I am looking for some tacos for Taco Tuesday this is one of the places that I go to! In times of prices being raised this is still a place I can count on for my 99 cent or $1 ( I can't remember how much they are ) tacos. They are much smaller tortillas they are tacos Al vapor (steamed) but I enjoy them. I usually get the asada and Al pastor. Good price, and usually filled with a good amount of meat. Parking can be difficult since the lot is shared with lots of other spots so I would go early if you are going for taco Tuesday! You can also call ahead, I do that often. read more

Overall I really love that they serve breakfast burritos all day. They have a fair price for them as well some other paces charge a lot and they aren't that good but this place is my top 3 pick for breakfast burritos. If I need to pick up they get it ready pretty fast. read more

I had originally left this review on the WRONG EL BUKANAS in Hacienda Heights. Just corrected to this one in Azusa. This review is a big Wow! This little hole in the wall looks like a family owned business... So good. My dad was craving TACOS DE VAPOR. Went to a place in La Puente by his house and they didn't have them.Next closest EL BUKANAS in Azusa. Had tripas and carnita tacos as well as a wet carne asada burrito in green sauce. Hands down the best I've had in a while. Will definitely go again. The habanero salsa was a great recommendation as well for the young lady that took our order. Sorry no pictures. This location is in a strip mall off of Azusa.. it's a small store front with about four tables. I tried the aguachiles, wet burrito, kesabirria, and the tacos el gobernador. The wet burrito was the standout for me which is drenched in green sauce that is not over the too spicy. There is also avocado slides that are a nice touch to add to the burrito. So here's the bad first, and it's not really bad. But enough for taking a star off. Their delivery hours with 3rd party delivery platforms are not up to date and not consistent. For example, ordering through Yelp that uses DoorDash the hours are inaccurate. Yelp might say they aren't taking orders past a certain hour via DoorDash but if you go directly to DoorDash app they are still open taking orders for delivery, or they are closed when they are open and viceversa. Or I'll order from grub hub, Yelp, or directly from DoorDash during their posted operating hours and my order gets cancelled 5 minutes before my given delivery eta. But if I go to UberEasts, I can put in my order and viceversa. I've requested that all the 3rd party delivery platforms confirm and update their operating hours with the business so it's correct with the delivery provider I chose so I don't have to get order cancellations each time before using another delivery platform or get cancelled because they closed for delivery orders when their posted delivery hours say the opposite. I love this place! But the incorrect hours are a little annoying. The GOOD: They have the BEST Gobenador tacos I've ever had! My son and I are hooked on them and love love love that green salsa that comes with it. I try to only order them once every couple months otherwise I'll turn into a blimp. The tortillas are handmade with the perfect amount of shrimp and cheese and grilled to perfection. They aren't tight with their shrimp either. These tacos are a must if you want to splurge a little with comfort food. We like other food on their menu as well like their aguachiles, and my son also likes their carne asada nachos, and we're still exploring. But the Gobenador tacos are a must, especially with that green salsa. read more

Been going here for a while now. Food and service has always been great, and still is. Up until recently, i ordered the chicken tacos... which was my favorite. I find out, they use breaded chicken now..... ??? And what a coincidence, they started selling chicken sandwiches. Trying to save money??? Regardless, its not good. Their original chicken was great! Four stars mainly for customer service. The lady at the register was very nice and helped us with all our questions about their food. She over charged us, which we didn't even realize it but she was nice enough to come to us about it. She double checked our receipt and returned the money she owed us. Ok so I don't really like putting any place down because everyone's taste in food is different. 75 cents a taco. Sure the tacos are small, but since they're affordable you can always buy one or two more. Carne asada was flavorful, cooked well, and packed into my tortilla.
