Absolutely one of the best pizza spots I've stumbled across in the SGV!! The first bite of Hala's Pizza had me doing a double take. Why did this taste so familiar? Turns out it was previously Dalia's Pizza, one of my all-time favorites from back home that seemingly vanished 20 years ago like a cheesy pizza mystery. Talk about a delicious reunion!!! What makes this pizza stand out is the dough. It's thick, chewy, flavorful, and has that perfect bite that makes you keep reaching for "just one more slice." Naturally, I ordered my go-to veggie pizza, and it did not disappoint. Loaded with fresh veggies, plenty of garlic, tons of flavor, and topped with fresh basil that took everything to the next level. Every bite was a happy little veggie party. Parking, however, deserves its own survival guide. The shared lot is tiny, and finding a spot felt like competing in an Olympic event. I circled the lot about 6 times before finally claiming victory and snagging a space. The pizza was worth the quest, but bring patience, and maybe enough gas for a few laps. read more

I ordered pizza and salad from Hala's for a staff meeting. The customer service was excellent! When picking up food for staff meetings I allow extra time to address any mix ups or errors in the order. Hala's was on point, friendly, and very helpful in loading the food into my vehicle. Great customer service goes a long way in this day and age. Quality of our food was great. Many of our staff commented on how delicious everything was. (2 stars... for emotional damage) Unfortunately, I have to leave a bad review. The problem? This place is wildly inconsiderate of my personal needs... specifically, it's way too far from my house. Every time I visit family, we have to stop here because the pizza is ridiculously good. Like, life-altering, dream-about-it-later good. And that's exactly the issue. Now I'm stuck at home craving it at random hours, knowing full well it's nowhere near me. Do they expect me to just... move? Plan trips around pizza? Develop a long-distance relationship with a slice? Honestly, the audacity. Please open a location closer to me so I can stop suffering. First off, this business is no longer named "Hala's Pizza. It has changed franchises and is now "Papa Pizza Pie." For those of you who aren't familiar with Papa's, there is another one in the city of Glendora, and their pizza is Amazing. I was excited to try the new one in West Covina and ordered several pizzas for my daughter's 10th birthday party. Unfortunately, there was a computer glitch with my order, and the secondary application they use for pizza deliveries was not working. I had to drive to the actual location to pick up my pizzas, but the girl at the front counter was extremely apologetic and discounted my order for the inconvenience. We were looking for something light and halal since we were going on a road trip and found this place. Looked like any other ordinary pizza place. When I did a search for "halal food", this restaurant came up but upon arriving at the restaurant and looking at the menu, I realized not everything on the menu is halal. They have options for halal toppings for the pizza. The chicken wings are also halal. So my husband and I ordered the halal pepperoni pizza together with chicken wings with mango habanero sauce. I have to say they were pretty good - they certainly hit the spot. I just wished that they would serve everything halal on the menu coz I saw some good looking pasta on the menu as well but I was told they were not halal. I also want to say the staff was very friendly and nice. I think she mentioned her name was Nour?? (Not sure how its spelled). Would I come back to this restaurant? Maybe. This place used to be Dalia's, now it's Hala's and after not having it for years, I was honestly curious whether it would still live up to the memory. Turns out, it does. The pizza is still the best-tasting in town. The nostalgia factor alone was a 10/10, but it wasn't just sentiment carrying it. The crust was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, the cheese-to-sauce ratio was spot-on, and the pepperoni was applied just right, not overloaded, not skimpy. I also ordered the mild wings, which were solid, though next time I'll definitely go with hot because that sauce is where it's at. Bonus points for the wings coming with fries--always appreciated. They also automatically included ketchup and ranch, which was a nice touch. The garlic bread came with marinara and was delicious, especially when fresh. Definitely don't let it sit too long, that's when it really shines. Price-wise, everything felt fair for the portions and quality. A large cheese pizza with pepperoni, wings, and garlic bread came out to a little over $35 after tax, which felt reasonable and satisfying for what you get. Overall, it more than satisfied my Monday craving, and I'm happy to say it's earned its way back into my regular rotation. Looking forward to coming back. read more

Decided to dine in here about an hour before closing time. The restaurant is clean and spacious with a nice size TV to watch games. The cashier was sweet and took our order immediately. I had high hopes for this restaurant based on existing reviews. I ordered chicken fettuccine and a large pepperoni pizza. The pasta included a really great and fresh salad which I loved! The pasta sauce was so bland and needed flavor. The portion is extremely generous and can be split between 3-4 people. My favorite part of this experience was the pizza. My craving for pasta led us here. I ordered their Meat lasagna and a side order of meatballs. My son ordered the Trio seafood pasta. Each of our meals came with a side salad and garlic bread. The salad was full sized with crisp lettuce, sliced mushrooms, olives, red onions, pepperoncini, a slice of tomato and your choice of dressing. We both opted for ranch. The lasagna came out piping hot and was enveloped in a tangy and robust marinara sauce. The garlic bread was perfectly toasted. We also got the caramel pecan cheesecake to go. Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant itself was clean and family-friendly. There were 5 sets of tables and chairs and 3 booths, two of them have their own TV. Altogether there were 5 TVs. I'm always looking for a decent pizza joint that not only understands the value of a quality pie but also understands the value of value. When I'm craving my garlic pie with sausage I'm looking for a place that can bring that to my table with a drink for around the $15 mark. Luckily Hala's came in on the price point fairly well, with the medium 2-topping pie and tall bottle of cola for about $16. And the pie was pretty damn good. It may not have been cloves or even roasted garlic, but I definitely tasted the layered minced garlic that they did put on the pie. The sausage wasn't as memorable, but that's not what I'm judging my pie on anyway. As long as the garlic hits like a ton of bricks I'm happy. The space is nice too--with plenty of tables and booths. It wasn't that full when I went but I'm sure it gets jumping at the more opportune times. The service was impeccable too. The way the staff handled all the to-go orders that seem to be the bulk of the business here. The same too when I had questions about what kind of products they had, the main person behind the counter was very informative and helpful. All in all, this may become my go-to pizza spot when Gina Maria's just seems like a hassle dealing with all that traffic and stress. Food wise, I ordered the managers special: 2 medium pepperoni pizzas 3/5 (need to spread pepperoni evenly...some slices had 5 pieces some had 1), hot wings 4/5 (8 pieces), breadsticks 4/5 (8 pieces w/marinara & ranch sauces), and fries 1/5 (2 servings) all for like $30. Halas which used to be dahlias is just a really good pizza option in the area and it's budget friendly. The team members are all very friendly and eager to assist you. I got the pepperoni this last time and the crust was good but the under carriage did get a little greasy and slightly floppy. Regardless the crust was a good combination of airy and soft.
