Review based on drinks only. We were lost at first in where it was located but it was located inside a seafood restaurant. Thought it was a bit odd but now in days it seems like little spots do this. We came closer to 7 pm so they didn't have a lot of baked goodies but totally understandable. We did end up getting drinks and the drinks were delicious. The kind and lovely cashier told us that their drinks are good and that she'll be happy to see us back. Well she was right! We got the strawberry lemonade and the horchata coffee and they were delicious! We can't wait to come back at an earlier time to try the other baked goods. read more

Interesting little coffee cart, shares space with a seafood restaurant. The drinks are really sweet so ask for less sugar if you prefer your strong coffee. We did love the service, the drinks were delicious and we even got little fish waffles on the straw. Would definitely come back! read more

At first we weren't sure where this place was but it's located inside the fish market! The lady who took our order was very hospitable and welcoming! We sat outside for a fresh ambiance and a great street view. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the cookie butter latte and my partner loved his banana matcha. He said the croissant sandwich was really fresh and yummy! My bagel was toasted to perfection with the right amount of cream cheese. The cookies were so good! I ordered the Blue Matcha Latte ($6.99 w/ coconut flavor - iced) at The Perfect Box Cafe (Covina). The beverage is very sweet and refreshing. It's reminiscent of a good-quality milk tea with a prominent coconut syrup taste. The Perfect Box Cafe (Covina) is absurdly difficult to find. Deep in the heart of Downtown Covina (within the dimly lit El Oasis Restaurant) a simple pastry/cafe booth hides. The El Oasis owner's wife bakes the goods, and another female staff member crafts the drinks. My primary concern is how the menu currently shows no prices, so I hope that gets resolved soon. I arrived at The Perfect Box Cafe (Covina) on a weekday (around 3:30PM). The staff is friendly and diligent. The drink took three minutes and 51 seconds. As previously mentioned, the Blue Matcha Latte w/ coconut is very sweet. The most prominent flavor is sugary milky coconut. Although its matcha taste is very soft and faint, it's a well-prepared beverage that uses good ingredients. It's an enjoyable, tasty drink. The Perfect Box Cafe's ambiance relies on the El Oasis restaurant's ambiance since it shares its space. The location includes a restroom; it's well-ventilated; and upbeat Latino music plays. The location is very clean. Overall, The Perfect Box Cafe (Covina) offers aesthetically lovely drinks while maintaining a refreshing, enjoyable taste. We checked out this place because it was in the area. It's actually inside of a fish restaurant so we had a little trouble finding it for a second but it's apart of the restaurant in the very front when you walk in! I will say that the lady who helped us was extremely nice, she was super friendly! In all honesty these coffees just didn't hit. My friend got the banana latte with strawberry cold foam & I got the smores latte. My drink was extremely bitter. I was actually surprised because I thought it looked more on the sweeter side especially with the chocolate drizzle. I couldn't drink it. My friend's drink tasted like pure syrup unfortunately and the foam was just ok but it was kinda interesting how bright pink the foam was. Thank you for the customer service to whoever served us but we will not be coming back for any drinks unfortunately :(. read more

The Perfect Box Cafe is located inside El Oasis Fisheria Restaurant in downtown Covina. We were greeted once we entered the restaurant. The restaurant looks very clean and spacious. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The cafe is on the right corner inside. They delicious pastries, macarons, cake slices, cup desserts, Croissants, Madeleine, bagels, and more. The drinks menu includes variety of Espresso, matcha, specialty coffee, specialty drinks and milk latte, juice to mention a few. The lady who served us was very nice and friendly. I got two banana matcha. The drinks were excellent. There was a perfect balance between the bitterness taste of matcha and the richness and creamy banana flavor. It was creamy, silky and refreshing drinks, decorated on the top with cute taiyaki- like but pancake like texture. It gives adorable look to the drink. I got also a chocolate cake slices. It was indulgent, chocolatey, moist, just perfect. We had strawberry lemonade cake. It was spongy with perfect balance between the strawberry and the citrus flavor of lemonade. The Biscoff cup was phenomenal. Their whipped cream was light, fluffy complimented with the crunchy, sweet taste of biscoff. The Chocolate cup had alternate layers of light and fluffy whipped cream and indulgent and rich chocolate cake with shaved chocolate in between these layers. It is a cup of happiness. I enjoyed my drinks and all the desserts we ordered. Everything was perfect. The cafe was a real hidden gem--it's actually inside the fish restaurant, which made it super hard to find since there was no separate sign for the cafe. However, Lenis, the lady working there was so incredibly nice and sweet. She made my dulce de leche latte, but it was much too sweet for my taste, so she immediately adjusted it for me. Not only did she fix it, but she even gave me extra shots and milk just in case, which was so thoughtful. She also handed me a little cut-up dessert as a treat--she's truly amazing! read more

AMBIANCE - I have to admit, this location is inside of an unexpected seafood restaurant with hardly any visible signage of "The Perfect Box Cafe". Just get directions to El Oasis restaurant and you'll be fine. Once inside, immediately to your right is their order counter and espresso machine. Plenty of seating inside. FOOD - I came here on a whim, newly discovering it on Yelp. I ordered their Iced Brown Sugar Latte, which was great! The coffee is definitely on the stronger side with notes of chocolate/mocha. Interestingly enough, they use the same coffee beans as Porto's and McDonald's (I know right!?). A nice little perk is that they use crushed ice so the latte experience is elevated even further! SERVICE - I was helped by one of the kindest people and easily felt comfortable there. I kind of got a little inside scoop on their shop and the intention behind it. It's in a Mexican seafood restaurant, which I didn't know. So had to call to not get lost. Very pleasant woman guided me to the this little cafe. This was also the person that served me the drinks. The lavender and shark attack matcha with oat milk were very good and no complaints from me. Definitely on the sweet side, so fyi for people with different tastes. Hopefully there are less sweet options for other kinds of people too, but so far I'd definitely recommend for people that don't care and want to try something new. This cafe is located inside of the oasis fish market and restaurant. Menu has so many options for coffee and drinks and their bagel menu is very creative. The owner of the place was the sweetest person I've met. For lattes they have decaf espresso! I got the Spanish latte with cinnamon and oat milk, the white mocha latte and a tunacado bagel. Everything was so so good. The tunacado bagel was massive and so good. Presentation of everything was so cute too. The tunacado was boxed with a ribbon and everything I am OBSESSED!!! I wanted to try a new coffee spot and found this one here on Yelp. The menu seemed very intriguing, so I had to make a stop. I ordered 3 beverages: - Shark Attack: Fun, basically a strawberry matcha, but it uses blue matcha. Comes with a fish waffle. - Matcha w/Strawberry: A good, basic strawberry matcha. - Blue Wave Latte: This one was different. Coconut, blue matcha and espresso. I found that the espresso overpowered the other two flavors. As everyone else had mentioned, this coffee shop is located inside El Oasis Fisheria. I didn't get any of the baked goods, though the little cakes looked quite good. Interestingly, this spot is inside another restaurant, so it can easily get overlooked. Even just walking by I'd probably miss it. I know I wouldn't have stopped by if it weren't for Yelp. The woman who helped me was super nice! I'm a sucker for dessert so I was happy to know this place was open. They are new and it's inside El Oasis Fisheria. They have a cute coffee bar with the desserts on display. I ordered the banana pudding, a strawberry shortcake, a Dubai chocolate bar and another strawberry-jam cake. My niece devoured her chocolate bar. It had a nice snap to it which tells me the chocolate was tempered. The shortcake was moist, not too sweet and was packaged beautifully. My son is a Banana Pudding snob and he loved this one. It's light and not overly sweet. They use the typical wafer cookies but, I can only imagine what it would be like if you added some chessman cookies. Either way, everything we had was delicious. This was my second time coming here I enjoyed the first time that I came back for a second time. I ordered a strawberry blue matcha. I asked for light ice because the first time It was a little watery for me, so she said it will be less product I was like can't you but more milk? And oh yeah it was way less. I've gone four times now, never in my life have I ever craved or longed for a beverage before having their Iced Rose Matcha. My second visit here I tried their Cheesecake with a heart macaroon on top and it was by far the best cheesecake in my life ! The ambiance was very peaceful and the owners are the sweetest! The place is hidden inside of another business. They just started about 3 months ago but they have everything that you could want that other coffee shops serve. There are plenty of coffee shops around but theirs by far was the best. If you're in the area and don't know where they're located call in and they'll direct you straight to them. So disappointed. I called and ordered 2 lattes and my boyfriend came back with 2 matchas. I called back and said I can take them back and go get what I originally ordered and the lady was so understanding and said no keep them and see you in 10 mins than my boyfriend goes back and she charges him for the lattes. I told her I would bring back the matchas as I did not want them so now I was forced to pay for 2 drinks I never ordered and when I called to complain she hung up on me and said she can't give free matchas and lattes out. WTH I never wanted matchas and would have brought them back... they lost a customer and I'm was just going to refer this place to my friends and family but will tell them this story instead... read more

Looks cute wish i could have tried it out tho came by at 5:45 pm Sunday and they were at first hard to find but read a review saying they are located inside of a restaurant. I happen to park right in front but they were already closed chairs up signs in for the night. Can someone or the owner please update the times I'd love to come back to try their coffee and a pastry! I asked what was in a specific listed menu item and she obliged. The drink was made pretty quick and they called my name when it was ready, I walked up and said, thank you and again the woman who made the drink, literally just turned her back and walked away. Needless to say, I would never come back to this location again. It's funny because I looked at the reviews and some people say all the customer services is awesome, so I don't know if it's Monday Blues, or what the situation is but even my daughter who was with me, said thank you when we were leaving and again no response. She literally told me "I said it just to see if they would respond after I heard you say thank you", and there was no response. We gave them several opportunities, with no response. That's too bad, my first impression was really bad from the service staff. I got the Mood Changer espresso, drink, iced. It had a good flavor, but a little on the sweet side, I prefer to taste more of a coffee myself. The shop itself is really cute, they have cute pins on the countertop that they sell with their name inscribed, they have cute cups, as well and T-shirts.

Chocolate twist had the perfect amount of chocolate on top. Crumble cake donut was very moist and tasty. I preferred it over the crumble raised donut which is a surprise to me because I'm usually for the raised more so than the cake. The highlight was the cinnamon sugar croissants. They were SO GOOD! Light, crispy, and soft in every bite. Tasted like churros. The ladies were so generous to throw in a few cinnamon sugar croissants in each box on the house. Thank you so much for the extra sweet treat! Ham jalapeno and cheese croissants were huge. Cheesy inside with not so hot jalapenos plus delicious ham slices. Croissant was super light and flaky. I recently tried two coffees at The Perfect Box Cafe: the Aley'x and the Horchata. The Aley'x - This vanilla/dulce de leche coffee had a good taste, especially for a place located inside a seafood restaurant. The beans had a nice flavor, and the sweetness wasn't overwhelming. It offered a balanced and enjoyable overall flavor. The Horchata - While it wasn't the best horchata I've ever had, it was decent. It could use a bit more cinnamon and possibly a hint of coconut to elevate its taste. Overall, The Perfect Box Cafe offers good coffee and is a great choice if you're looking to support local mom-and-pop businesses. read more

I've been here a few times now, and I believe they're still in their soft opening. The menu is simple, but thoughtfully curated with plenty of great options. Between the two of us, we've tried just about all of their Signature Lattes. My personal favorites are the Black Cocoa Biscotti Latte and the Covina Latte. Both are well-balanced and not overly sweet. The scones deserve some love too. The Ham & Jalapeño Scone was an instant favorite, flaky and packed with flavor. They also have a corn scone (I think...I can't remember the exact name), and it was just as delicious. Every visit has been a great experience. The staff is genuinely friendly, service is quick, and parking is easy (the holy trinity). My only wish is that they extend their hours in the future. Right now they're closed on Saturdays and Sundays, which makes it harder to stop by on weekends. If you're looking for a new local coffee spot, I'd definitely recommend giving Hold Coffee a try. We'll definitely be back.

That's too bad, my first impression was really bad from the service staff. I got the Mood Changer espresso, drink, iced. You won't find Vietnamese coffee like the coconut coffee and egg coffee anywhere this good. Tastes authentic to Vietnam which I also recently visited. My favorite drink is the coconut matcha They're also very friendly. I once realized that I left my wallet at the shop for half a day and came to track it down. The location said my wallet was outside the street but as I was struggling to find it, a staff member came out and handed it to me! I really appreciate them for that. It deserves more support and I recommended this spot to all my family and friends.
