Second the owner Ice cream crafter is award winning and the friendliest guy explaining alll his custom yummy creations. Third there is also a craft beer counter serving craft beer and wine along with beer and wine floats using the homemade ice cream. What is better than two of the best things in the world beer on tap and homemade crafted gourmet ice cream!!!! I scream for both! This ice cream artist has taken it up on flavors and has come up with some super delish unique items some that include a little beer in them to make them extra creamy and some non dairy made with coconut milk. You can taste your heart out as every flavor is temping and made of fresh natural ingredients. Definitely one of the best ice cream shops that i have come across and probably I think the best in SoCal. This place makes Handels look like baskin Robbin's and makes others like after and salt & straw look commercialized. Solid ice cream place with a variety of options. Staff were friendly and offered samples. The shop has a few tables inside and outside. We sampled the butter flavors and It's Butter For You stood out the most to me. I liked the chunks of toffee in the butterscotch ice cream. Any of the flavors that have an orange border have a tiny bit of liquor in them that's safe enough for kids to eat. Flavors that have a red border are dairy free. The Ube Coconut tasted more coconut than Ube to me. I would come back if I'm in the area and I'm looking for a late night dessert. read more

I honestly can't believe I've never reviewed Scoops before. I've been coming here once a month for the last few years to try their new rotations. My husband and I have the monthly tradition of trying the delicious samples then settling on a taster flight (4 kid scoops of different flavors). I look forward to it every month. Service has always been top notch. The inside has 3 small tables and 2 small bar areas. Very bright and colorful inside. Outside there are more tables. The ice creams are split by reoccurring, dairy free, and alcohol infused. Try as many samples as you'd like before deciding! The scoop sizes are very generous which is a big reason why I keep to the kid cups. The ice creams are always very creamy and delicious. Very creamy and sweet taste of ube, but not too sweet. Mouth was purple afterwards, true sign of happiness. The only reason I'm docking them off a star is that I have a friend who despises Scoops on Tap to the point where she'll visible grimace and go eugh each time we pass by or if it somehow comes up in a conversation. Whatever fruit flavored ice cream she got that time tasted fine in shop but as we walked out and she took more bites she said it tasted like rotting, over ripe fruit. I have no idea how the consistency got that bad or how night and day the difference was, but it is what it is. read more

What a wonderful idea - ice cream with bold flavors and ice cream was booze! Ever wanted a float with a kick? They have many choices on tap to get with their very delectable ice cream. When you walk in, they allow you to sample their ice creams with some with diary and non-dairy. Some have infused alcohol, like rum for example, and fruity ones as well. I really enjoyed the butter beer, millionaire pie, ube coconut and matcha with strawberry. This place has really friendly servers and medium amount of places to sit, indoor and outdoor. It was my first time here the other night and the service provided was extraordinary. The gentleman working was so friendly and took the time to explain the different flavors and let us sample as well. Their flavors are pretty unique and I like how they have rotating/limited flavors. I ended up getting a classic sundae with 2 flavors, the madagascar vanilla bean and a seasonal limited flavor that I forgot the name of. The ice cream was delicious and so was the waffle cup. I have to give this place all 5 starts. Not only because their ice cream is amazing BUT also because of their staff. I was immediately welcomed with a hello followed by, "Would you like a tasting?" Uhh yes, and let me just add that every time I got a different tasting, the worker would give me an explanation of what was inside of it. Which you don't get that at other places . I appreciated being asked if I was allergic to almonds or nuts when I was introduced to a tasting . I felt they really cared about their costumers. Last year they had a charcuterie ice cream flavor with blue cheese. I know it's sounds ..... not appetizing. However, trust the flavors .... It blew my mind and I ended up getting a pint. Their ice cream flavors change often, except for 4 that they always keep on tap. Aside from ice cream they also sell wine and beer. They have a wine and ice cream flight as well as a beer and ice cream flight. I haven't tried any of those but I'll be returning for the flight next time. I got a single scoop split half matcha half butterbeer on a cone. Aaaaand oh my gaaaawwwd. They are not stingy with their ice cream. It was indeed too much for me and I couldn't finish it all. Curious, I tried Alfajores which was delicious but I ultimately decided to get two scoops in a cup: Butterbeer and New Leaf. I sat on the patio and devoured these ultra-creamy treats. The Butterbeer was a lightly flavored butterscotch ice cream with sea salt and bits of English toffee. The contrasting textures of the creamy butterscotch and crunchy pieces of toffee was wonderful. New Leaf was my favorite though, perhaps my new all-time-favorite. Their description: Vermont maple surup and fresh peanut butter ice cream with a stout infused fudge ripple from Bottle Logic and candied chocolate graham cracker. Wow!!!! There was a lot going on with this ice cream flavor-wise. Every ingredient was discernable and they melded together perfectly. I truly hated it when I took the last bite because I wanted the pleasure I was experiencing to never end. As one of the many vendors at the event, their enticing flavors mixed in with local signature brews kept me and my husband coming back again over the multi-day event and when I learned that their brick-n-mortar location was near West Covina, I vowed to eventually visit. I treated my sister to share a double scoop and the staff that greeted us were friendly and patient as we tasted their samples of non-alcoholic flavors which were many and unique as well. Inside is quite small with some tables and the interior decorations especially highlighting the alcohol options was immediately eye-catching. The weather was a dreary gray but we opted to enjoy the street patio seating. While the ice cream did unfortunately melt quickly outdoors, I recommend this place to those more local who haven't tried it. I ordered a salted caramel apple and strawberries and cream double scoop which was about $10. This was some of the best ice cream I've ever had. The salted caramel apple was made with hints of hard apple cider alcohol (less than 0.1% alcohol). I could taste the hard cider flavor and the caramel apple. The slight hints of salt enhanced the taste of the apple flavor. The strawberries and cream was a mix of strawberry and vanilla. They are both my favorite ice cream flavors so this was delicious for me. Overall, flavor and texture of the ice cream was 11/10. The texture for both the ice creams were very creamy and sticky.
