This is not the place for subtle sweetness. If you're ordering churros, you're committing to dessert, and they absolutely deliver. The cajeta sauce is the star. It's rich, caramely, and honestly worth the trip alone. The guava sauce is also solid if you want something a little fruity to balance the sugar. I did find the guava to be a bit sweeter than the cajeta. Service is always super friendly, and the storefront is cute. It's such a great post-dinner stop when you're walking around downtown Covina. Street parking can be hit or miss, but there are plenty of nearby lots and parking structures, so it's never a real issue. They do not sell single churros at this time. The cashier recommended the OG Churros. The OG Churros come with 2 6-inch churros and 1 topping of your choice for $6. I ordered those and picked guava for the topping. It was a perfect recommendation. The churros were made fresh. It took about 5 minutes to receive the order. The churro box includes two toppings we got chocolate and Dulce de leche. The Dulce de leche was a little cold but still good. The cost of the churro box was fair - not overpriced - and you receive a lot of churros. Two of us eating it did not finish the box. Staff were very friendly. Ice cream of choice was the rocky road. As a rocky road enthusiast I can by far say it's one of the worst I've tasted. It had a burnt taste to it. The horchata was the only thing that was given to us almost immediately, by the time we got the rest of our items it was watered down. But tonight, great experience here! Probably one of the sweetest staff to serve you. I wanted to try the Iced Cafe De Olla and it was delish. I usually like Cafe De olla hot but iced- I was curious George today and had to get it iced. The cafe did not need any milk added, they did ask if I wanted a splash of milk, none needed. Now to the churros. Perfectly seasoned with that cinnamon/sugar blend with Dulce de leche syrup on the side. Crispy outside and soft inside. This little place is located across the street from Rude Dogs in the heart of Downtown Covina. There is limited street parking but additional parking in the back of the building. We went during the soft opening and there was no seating inside and the menu was not at full capacity which is to be expected. So before committing I would double check at the register that your item is available and have a back up just in case. The staff was as prompt as they can be and super friendly. It took a total of 30 mins to stand in line, order and get our food. I thought the churros were AMAZING. And the cafe de olla was on point.
