Churro Sundae
Daniel A.

Sky rockets in flight Afternoon delight... Came in after the kids knocked out on our walk thru downtown. We were full from lunch so went with a Churro Sundae one chocolate ice cream scoop. Churros are made in house, family business and they do it well! They have indoor seating for you to enjoy your afternoon delight. Service is very fast, we got our order before I was finished paying. Right in the heart of downtown Covina. There's plenty of street parking on Citrus or a public parking lot down the street. Tried to buy the Thor hammer on the wall but was told I'm not worthy, haha no it was a gift. Next time I'll order a coffee as they have cafe de olla or an horchata latte along with the churros.

Located in downtown Covina across from Rude Dogs. If you can't find parking in front you can on the public parking behind the restaurant itself (turn left on the corner of citrus and college street). From the parking lot walk down the alley of lights, make a right and it's the 2nd shop on your right. The customer service is great! She is very knowledgeable and makes great suggestions to complement your choice of drinks or churros. The see inside and the music is fantastic! Great vibes! The music is very nostalgic. The food: the churros are fresh and warm. I waited about 5-7 minutes for a fresh batch and it was worth it ! The churros are nice and warm and soft inside and crunchy outside. The added ice cream and toppings is Chefs kiss! I got the BOSS BOX for $20.00, with tax it was $22.05. Worth it! Definitely coming back!

Churros with Dulce de leche sauce and a hot cocoa. Both so delicious!

My girls and I stumbled on this place one night while we were trying to wait out traffic and I'm so glad we did! The churros and hot chocolate were amazing!!! We live almost an hour away and I'm still trying to find an excuse to go back to West Covina so I can go back here again

Stopped by this place for churro cravings and I usually never get churros outside of Disney, so I was crossing my fingers it would be good! And it really was amazing from the the crunch of the churros to seasoning, and even the guava and strawberry dip! Really glad we found this little gem that just opened two weeks ago! Definitely worth coming for the churros! They also have coffee and tea, along with ice cream. Service was friendly, and both staff members were helpful and had a smile as they were taking our order and working on our order. The atmosphere is simple and spacious, and themed black and red.

OG Churros with Guava

I stopped by earlier today. Their soft opening day was on March 23. The inside is dark and minimal. I love their logo. They offer coffees, milkshakes, teas, churros, and ice cream. They do not sell single churros at this time. The cashier recommended the OG Churros. The OG Churros come with 2 6-inch churros and 1 topping of your choice for $6. I ordered those and picked guava for the topping. It was a perfect recommendation. The churros were made fresh. It took about 5 minutes to receive the order. They make them crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The guava topping was good, not too sweet, which I prefer. I am looking forward to trying more items, especially their coffee.

I am a sucker for a good churro and Churro Boss did not disappoint. Located in Downtown Covina, this is a perfect place for a quick dessert and coffee! I believe they are in their soft opening, so the decor inside felt minimal (no seats), but the concept is sleek! We opted for the Churro Box with two sauces, and they were a good balance of crispy crunch and cinnamon goodness. We had it with condensed milk and cajeta, and split it across four people and still had some left over. The staff was helpful and friendly, and seemed genuinely interested in serving patrons. We will definitely be coming back!

Went in tonight and got the churro box - a little misleading that the photo has ice cream but it's not included. We paid extra for the ice cream. The churro box includes two toppings we got chocolate and Dulce de leche. The Dulce de leche was a little cold but still good. The cost of the churro box was fair - not overpriced - and you receive a lot of churros. Two of us eating it did not finish the box. Staff were very friendly. Greeting all customers asking if anyone had questions about the menu. The inside of the location is very nice and clean. I'll be back to try their coffees and ice hot chocolate. If you're in the area give it a try!

Strawberry Scream milkshake

Came across this place on social media, checked the reviews decided to make a 30 minute drive to try it out. I am so disappointed. The prices are definitely not worth it. When we got there it was a person ahead of us... we waited about 30 minutes to get our food. Ordered a strawberry horchata, strawberry scream (milkshake) & a boss box. The milkshake was milky the taste of strawberry wasn't really there. The churros taste like reused (old) oil. The topping we chose were Nutella & strawberry. The Nutella was hard. Ice cream of choice was the rocky road. As a rocky road enthusiast I can by far say it's one of the worst I've tasted. It had a burnt taste to it. The horchata was the only thing that was given to us almost immediately, by the time we got the rest of our items it was watered down. The horchata was good before the ice melted but not something I'd drive 30 minutes for if craving. Not sure if they were understaffed for a Friday evening. Only two girls working the front & 1 mainly making the drinks.

So good

Great place for a sweet treat. Their churros were warm and crisp. Their ice cream is thrifty ice cream, never disappoints! We found parking in the front, but there's always plenty of parking in the area just a little further down. There's areas inside. You can enjoy your treats, standing tables along the walls. The staff were really friendly and helpful, as always, I have a lot of questions and they were very helpful.

My dessert craving has been redeemed today! We went for dessert yesterday evening at another establishment and we were a little disappointed with the whole experience. But tonight, great experience here! Probably one of the sweetest staff to serve you. I wanted to try the Iced Cafe De Olla and it was delish. I usually like Cafe De olla hot but iced- I was curious George today and had to get it iced. The cafe did not need any milk added, they did ask if I wanted a splash of milk, none needed. Now to the churros. Perfectly seasoned with that cinnamon/sugar blend with Dulce de leche syrup on the side. Crispy outside and soft inside. I like my Disneyland churros but this is some competition and closer to home! lol. Oh and they don't come as a single churro. You get 2 for $6 (6"inch); I actually like the size. It compliments your drink and it's shareable. I am coming again and adding some icecream next time. Come support this place! Churros all year round!! Who doesn't want that?

Churro Split!

We stumbled across this place when we were looking for Domestic BBQ. I'm a huge churro fan and couldn't resist not trying this place. I've been on a strict diet for 4 months right before graduation. I just graduated this week so I'm allowing myself to indulge a little bit this week before I go back to healthy eating again. I felt so guilty for enjoying it as much as I did! But it was worth it. Hubby and I shared the split and it was plenty for us. Churros were nice and warm, extra crunchy on the outside and still soft on the inside, it was made to perfection. I got to pick the ice cream flavors so I picked cookies n cream, coffee and vanilla. This is a cute cute place for a date. I'm sure we'll be back for more churros and ice cream soon! My bestie already wants to try this place after I sent him pics lol

The gelato is velvety & soft with prominent flavor profiles. It's tasty. (Important Note: Bring cash. Card has a small additional fee, about 3.5% extra. Also, there's no flavor sampling.) I arrived at Il Gusto (West Covina) on Monday (around 7:29pm). This location shares the busy parking plaza by 85 Degrees (West Covina). Fortunately, it was easy to find parking this evening. Staff is professional and helpful. Staff worked quickly, and staff answered all my questions. Line went very fast despite a group being ahead of me. As mentioned, I ordered the Medium Cup (2 Scoops - $8). I selected a milk chocolate scoop and a cookies-flavored scoop. Portion sizes are fair and adequate for its quality. The flavors are delicious. The milk chocolate scoop reminded me of rich, dark chocolate milk. Its consistency felt very velvety, and its strong chocolate flavor almost teetered towards chocolate brownie territory. The cookie-flavored scoop was very tasty as well. This scoop flowed smoothly, and I happily enjoyed the soft cookie chunks within. This had a milder taste, but it felt very satisfying. This gelato was not icy; rather, it had delightful flavors while flowing like chilled silk. Concerning ambiance, Il Gusto (West Covina) shows genuine effort. The location is very clean and well-ventilated (refreshingly chill). I also enjoyed the Elvis Presley music. However, the music was occasionally drowned out from the loud electronic buzzing/humming sounds from the kitchen's containers. Also, some portions of the walls and floors looked scuffed with black marks. Il Gusto (West Covina) is also fairly small. It has three reflective tables inside; customer-only restroom; and three nearby shaded tables outside. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Il Gusto (West Covina). Its prices are adequate, the gelato is a good quality, and the staff is hardworking & helpful. If nearby, I recommend. 4.6 out of 5

If you're in the mood for a late-night sweet treat and specifically craving something marshmallowy,…read morechocolatey, and s'mores-inspired, S'moreology is a cute little spot to check out. The shop is located in West Covina and has a really cute setup, but a couple things to know before going: there's no indoor seating and no public restroom, so definitely plan accordingly. Ordering is done at the service window, and then you can enjoy your desserts in the outdoor patio area. Parking is probably the biggest challenge here. Their lot is tiny -- maybe four spaces total -- so there's a good chance you'll need to park on the street or somewhere nearby. There's also a shopping center across the street, so depending on how busy it is, that may be your easiest option. The menu itself was easy to read and had a lot of variety. They don't just do classic s'mores -- they also have brownies, cookies, milkshakes, bottled milk, and other dessert options if you want something different. I ended up ordering the OG s'more, a s'mores brownie, and two bottles of milk. Overall, I'd say everything was good, especially if you're just in the mood for a fun late-night dessert, but it wasn't necessarily one of those places that completely blew me away. The OG s'more was definitely the better item of the two because it was warm, gooey, and gave you more of that classic s'mores experience. My biggest tip is to eat it right away while it's still hot because once it cools down, it loses some of that fresh, melty texture that makes a s'more worth getting in the first place. The s'mores brownie, on the other hand, was a little disappointing because it was kind of cold. I really wish it had been served warmer because the temperature made it taste drier than I expected. The milk definitely helped, but I think it would have been much better if it had been warmed up a bit more before serving. One thing I did love was that they sell bottled milk because honestly, if you're eating rich desserts like brownies, cookies, and s'mores, milk is the perfect pairing. Overall, I still think it's a cute place to try if you're craving a sweet treat late at night or just want to satisfy a s'mores craving. I wouldn't say it was life-changing, but it was a fun dessert stop, and I'd still be open to going back to try a few other items on the menu.
