First-time visitor, but it will definitely not be my last…read more The bagels here are DELICIOUS!! Fresh and filling. My family and I visited about 1100 am on a Monday morning, and most of the bagels were sold out. I plan to be here much earlier the next time I visit. Service was excellent, with very friendly and helpful employees; the bakery was very clean and well organized; and the prices were very affordable.

I've been coming to Bakery Covina, I love the vibe inside. Unfortunately my most recent visit left…read morea bad impression. The issue wasn't with the food--it was with the cashier's attitude. I ordered my usual bagel with egg, tomato, and double mayo. When I received it, the tomato had been cooked with the egg. At every other bagel shop I've been to, those ingredients are prepared separately unless requested otherwise. When I mentioned that it wasn't what I wanted, the response I got was simply, "That's how I do it," which came across as dismissive rather than helpful. I also specifically requested my bagel be well done. It appeared the sandwich was about to be served without being run through the toaster a second time, and I had to remind her. What really stood out was when I asked for a plastic container so I wouldn't make a mess while eating. The cashier said she had to ask the boss if it was okay, even though the customer before me had been given one without any issue. It felt inconsistent and unnecessary. Overall, it seemed like she didn't want to be there, and that attitude affected the entire experience. Customer service matters, especially for repeat customers. I've enjoyed coming here in the past, but this interaction has me questioning whether I want to return. Update: Unfortunately, after I posted my original review, the experience got even worse. I also ordered a second bagel--an everything bagel with double cream cheese. After starting to eat it, it was obvious that there was nowhere near double cream cheese on it. At that point, it became clear that multiple parts of my order were either misunderstood or not prepared as requested. By itself, a mistake with cream cheese wouldn't be a huge issue. The problem is that it came after the confusion with my sandwich order, having to repeat requests, and dealing with an attitude that made me feel like I was inconveniencing the cashier simply by ordering food. I've been coming to this location for years whenever I'm in the area, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. Between the poor customer service and the repeated mistakes with my order, this was by far one of the worst experiences I've had at this location.

The Food: We tried a little bit of everything, and every single bite was a hit: * Everything Bagel: Toasted perfectly with cream cheese, fresh tomatoes, and onions. The seasoning was spot on. * Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel: This had the perfect kick! Toasted with cream cheese, tomatoes, and onions--the toppings were perfectly matched to the savory heat of the bagel. * Honey Bagel: For the sweet tooth! We got this toasted with strawberry cream cheese, and it tasted like a total treat. The Service: What really sets this place apart is the vibe. The guy at the register was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It's rare to find great food paired with genuine hospitality, but they nail it here. Bottom line: The bagels are incredible, the ingredients are fresh, and the service is top-notch. I already can't wait to come back!

The lox open faced bagel is perfectly proportioned with fresh ingredients... not to forget the amazing bagel underneath too! :-) Vanilla latte was a bit sweet but very good still, no burnt coffee taste. Will definitely be back to try more of their huge menu! Other pluses: - everyone working there was so friendly and helpful, thank you! - plenty of parking in a large plaza - peaceful covered patio with a great view of the trees and hills

They have fun with their menu here; you can find a seasonal menu every now and then, and have menu items like their Pandan Vietnamese Coffee, which is delicious by the way, to a creamy Dubai chocolate latte, to a sweet citrus peach green tea and smores chai. I told you they are fun, right? They also have the standard fully customizable menu with Americanos, cappuccinos, mochas, cold brews, etc. My fiancé chose Pressed + Flower to be our Sunday morning treat, knowing I am a sucker for anything cold and sweet while the sunshine is out. We got a Cold Brew w/ Cold Foam + Pandan Vietnamese Coffee to sit inside. Originally we were just planning for a quick to-go order but decided to stay to enjoy their ambiance. The interior is decked out to be just like their menu - fun and whimsy. Upon entering, I was immediately distracted by all the shoppable decor items like their huge mugs, candles, glassware, stickers, and crocheted animals. See, aren't they fun? I would've stayed in this shoppable section for longer and bought something if I weren't so coffee-deprived, but didn't end up purchasing a crocheted animal, although I really wanted to. I will save this thought for my next visit to make sure I can take one home. They have a variety of comfy chairs, and tables for guests to chill on and take a relaxing break while enjoying their coffee or tea. There are games in the front of the store if you want to entertain yourself with friends and hang out. The staff we interacted with were both friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back to enjoy more of their fun seasonal drinks and next time, I'll stay awhile longer to enjoy more of the ambiance they curated here. :)

They've got delicious drinks and I love that they still give ceramic mugs when you ask for it (a lot of other places have stopped doing this and just always use the plastic lined wasteful to-go cups). I will likely even bring my family or kids here too as it has so many activities like books and games for young and old. Huge variety of drinks, good breakfast foods like even hot oatmeal, and some lunch food items too, although I haven't tried those yet. The staff are always kind and calm adding to cool vibe. Don't miss the items for sale from local vendors. Fun to browse!

I came back for a second visit one week later. They are located at the Historic Route 66 Promenade in Glendora. Plenty of free parking. Limited inside seating, but they do have good ample outside patio seating. Cozy interior. No public restrooms. Please note they are open early morning through early afternoon. You gotta come here early if you want to get your hands on their tasty donuts, croissants, sandwiches, and hot/cold beverages. Crystal & Jason (owners) and Alan (staff) were super friendly and hospitable towards all their customers including me. I felt like I was their extended family. Customer service was exceptional! Thank you all! They are known for their croinuts (croi(ssant) + (dough)nut). I tried all 4 croinut flavors. Original flavor was good, but it was way too sweet for my taste. Strawberry shortcake and raspberry cream were less sweet, but still on the sweeter. Banana nutella was the best all around in taste and sweetness... it was perfectly balanced! As for donuts, I got blueberry, glazed twist, and tiger tail. Crystal was nice to offer me one lemon poppy on the house. So kind of her. Thank you Crystal for the sweet treat! Tiger tail was top-notch! Good size donut with great texture. Love the presentation of it! Blueberry was well balanced in taste, moistness, and sweetness, but the other two donuts were just too sweet for me IMHO. Glazed twist is my favorite donut so I was a bit bummed about that. The Works croissant was HUGE! I got two of them; one with everything for my Mom, one without sausage substitute it with more ham or bacon for me. Croissant was flaky and light. At every bite, I got a little of everything... ham, eggs, bacon, hash brown, and cheese. YUM! Will I be back? Definitely. Btw, CASH ONLY!

The drink tasted like powdery coco. The subtle caffeine lingered throughout the day. I waited two minutes and 30 seconds. TRO Coffee's barista is the main attraction. I observed how he'd endlessly chat with customers lounging beside the counter. He'd banter and empathize with all the regular patrons. I arrived on a weekend (around 1:20PM). Shockingly, this hidden location had a consistent stream of customers. TRO Coffee's ambiance is an acquired taste. If someone had decorated a mall's parking garage, it would resemble TRO Coffee's interior. Classical/Jazz Elevator Music played in the corner. Customers were casually reading books or lounging with a laptop in this mismatching dusty concrete interior. I also consistently observed staff chatting about limited supplies (ex: no more mocha; lacking black napkins; missing ingredients). Overall, TRO Coffee offers extremely friendly service. Drinks are decent too. It's definitely an experience.

I would have hoped for my jalapeño biscuit to be warmed - not sure if that was available, and I didn't ask. We were well tended, and since we had time to kill we took advantage of the very fun card games. We had a great time!
