    TooGoodToGo order

For context, "Too Good To Go" is an app used by stores to sell food at the end of the day that would have been thrown out, in order to reduce food waste. Today after a long day of work I was craving pizza, and good pizza not from a chain store, so I placed an order using this app, which was $4.99, and $5.43 after tax. The pickup window was from 8:00 to 9:00 pm and I came at 8:52. I tell the lady at the counter that I have a TooGoodToGo order, and she tells me, and a lady who came in a few seconds after me, to show her our phones and swipe for TooGoodToGo. Strange, I thought we were supposed to swipe that AS she was giving us our surprise bags. But I did so, and she told me to have a seat while they get it ready. Only in retrospect did I realize she probably made us swipe so we wouldn't back out after seeing/feeling how little food we would get. As soon as I picked up the bag, I knew something was terribly wrong. The bag was light as a feather, not even half a pound, and I work in a deli weighing meat constantly, so I KNOW. In my head i'm hoping there's at least TWO slices of pizza and not one.. I open it as I'm a few steps away from the restaurant and see that they gave me seven small pieces of dry, cold garlic bread. I didn't choose a PIZZA place for garlic bread, and now i wasted a combined 40 mins on the bus, $4 on bus fare, and $5.43 on seven pieces of not even cheese bread, but just a third of a flatbread with some garlic paste smeared on it. The strangest thing? A few minutes after I took a seat, and the bags were ready, I heard the lady at the counter say to the man who just prepared the food, "this is for him?" and the man said yeah, and then the lady gave me the bag. Me and the other woman got the exact same $5 bag, and I know that since i just checked the app and all they're selling for tomorrow are also $5 bags. So why did he specify that this bag was for me?? If they had no pizza they could have just told me and I would have asked for a refund then. But instead they threw a few pieces of garlic bread into a bag and thinks it's worth $5.43.. And I also don't understand why it took five minutes to "prepare" my order, but the bread was still cold so it's not as if he reheated them or anything. If this is how they treat TooGoodToGo customers then they shouldn't be using the app at all. Except they wouldn't do that because then who would they sell seven pieces of their cold garlic bread to for $5!! The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I will never be back here to spend another cent at all and I recommend you do the same.

Service + Recovery = Not here I called this location from my downtown hotel, and asked did they sell pizza by the slice and how much was it. The young lady on the phone without hesitation answers and says, "Yes we do and it will be 4.25 per slice". I asked specifically did they have pepperoni slices and she indicated, "Yes, it's $4.25". I said thank you, I'm right up the street and hung up. I leave my hotel immediately, (The Embassy Suites which is less than a 10 min walk away). When I enter the Hearth + Press there is one man behind the counter. I walk to the iPad to place my order to-go for the slice. He says, "we dont have anymore slices". He never spoke to me when I walked in, and I never mentioned to him I wanted to order a slice. I explained to him I just spoke to someone about the single slices of pizza, and a young woman told me they had them 10 minutes ago. He said she's in the bathroom and will be out shortly. The young lady comes out and doesn't acknowledge me, or explain why she lied on the phone. The guy behind the counter about 5 mins after that says, "are you going to order something?" I respond that I did a want a slice of pizza, now I'm trying to warm up and find somewhere else to go eat. It's freezing outside, with flurries and high winds. The lack of service recovery was absolutely atrocious. No accountability for misinformation or apologies to be found. I didn't want anything for free, I came to pay for food and leave. Pro tip: Skip this place, and try Osteria 166. Very good wood fired pizza, and I got the chicken parm to go! Most importantly the customer service was top notch.

Food was great, and service was excellent. My husband and I previously ate here on a date night, and most recently brought our 13 and 7 year olds. There was no kids' menu, which was fine because 7 year old enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs and kiddie cocktail!

As far as pizza in Buffalo it's the most decent I've had. Good sauce. Good ingredients. Dough got a bit soggy toward the end so maybe the ovens gotta be warmer to get that nice crunch on the crust. The space is actually so nicely set next to the Main Street with steady foot traffic, giving the inside a more alive feel. Staff is friendly at the register but be sure to grab your own napkins and be prepared to be ignored if you ask for parmesan.

The food here is ridiculously good. We get the four cheese honey pizza every time we go, and we are OBSESSED. The service is great and the ambiance too as it's right across from the Sheas Theatre!

    chicken + mushroom penne

Food was great! We ordered the white 4-cheese pizza and chicken + mushroom penne. Both were well made. Our server was very nice, and we appreciate having been fit in without a reservation and on a night before Shea's. Lovely restaurant, it feels nice without being intimidating.

Love that the crust is thin and the mushrooms were delicious! The service was super quick during the lunch hour.

This hidden gem has quickly turned into my go to place for lunch in downtown Buffalo. Their pizza has a thin airy crust and the ratio of cheese and sauce is perfect. They cook their pizza in wood burning stove which adds to the flavor.

We stopped here for a bite to eat before seeing a Show at the Tralf. Was hands down the best old fashioned I have ever had. My boyfriend ordered a margarita and enjoyed it. We had the special grandmas pie and it was amazing. The olives were good and the roasted veggies were good albeit mushroom heavy. Great ambiance and friendly staff. I only Wish this place was closer, we be regulars.

We made a reservation for dinner at 7:45 and we were surprised when we walked in that we were the only people there. The food was delicious, albeit a bit pricey. The pizzas were really tasty and the crust was delicious. Our waiter said his favorite dishes were the pizza and pasta we were ordering (3 meat pasta and fungi pizza) and suggested we add salami or prosciutto to our pizza so we added salami and were glad for the recommendation. The appetizers were a bit small and pricey but everything was really tasty. The meatballs were really delicious. Our waiter was very attentive until it came time to get the check but we were in no hurry so it was fine. Then it pass

Don't come here for a coffee and work. Wifi is not open and only option is Buffalo Connect which has terrible reception here.

Cool atmosphere, but menus is limited, pizza was soggy and two servers are not enough to handle the before-theater crowd.

Either way, there was only the faintest hint of coconut. It was fine, but not something I'd order again. They have so many different flavors though, so I'd definitely come back and try something else. I also came specifically for the fruit desserts, which I originally thought were ice cream. Turns out they're actually white chocolate shells filled with mousse and the actual fruit inside. It's a really fun concept, but unfortunately not really my cup of tea. It was pretty sweet, but somehow still didn't have much flavor. My biggest disappointment was that the staff didn't really know much about the products they were selling. They were friendly enough, but when I asked questions about the items, they couldn't really provide much information and even had to call someone else for help, to no avail.
