    Brewery burger gets an A+

Spent 4 days in Buffalo, searching for the best wings, and they were HERE! Great environment, kind service, welcoming patrons, nice interior, fun drinks, and GREAT food! Made for a great Saturday night.

Yummy! the taco salad was super good. The live music on Saturdays makes the food taste even better.

Duke's Tavern is a place you will feel truly welcome. From the first moment when the hostess greets you with a big, warm smile, you'll feel well taken care of. That's what immediately puts you into a relaxed and comfortable mode. The server was patient with our group and was very polite in an informal way. The time we spent together was simply a series of positive experiences for the soul and body, or more precisely, the stomach :). Hospitality must be the number one priority at Duke's. The menu is diverse and everyone will definitely find something. I had a hard time deciding what to order, because I wanted to try almost everything. Plus, Wednesday is all about a very tempting offer with $.75 wings. Maybe next time. However, I did take advantage of the 'drink special'. My $8 Espresso Martini was (oh!) so tasty. "Curiosity kills the cat", and I'm the cat. This time I survived again. Ordering the Brewery Burger was brave, but no regrets. Finally, I tried this wild-looking dish I'd seen in so many pictures. It's basically a two-patty burger cut in half, face down, and floating in a lake of beer cheese. If that wasn't enough, everything was sprinkled with bits of bacon. Ha! The bacon was too burnt for my taste, but some prefer it this way. I also wanted to have greens for a healthier balance. The Oak Salad was delightful, but more spring mix would cut through the sweetness of the cranberries and candied pecans. To me, with the vanilla apple vinaigrette, it tasted a bit like dessert. I also tasted a pretzel bite with sweet mustard dip, yum! Thanks, friend, for sharing. The good times in good company quickly passed. It was only Wednesday night. I could have easily had more of those delicious alcoholic beverages, but I wanted to be good. I'll save the dancing on the bar for another time ;). Their drinks are, in fact, strong. Try Aperol Paloma, delicious! Cheers!

We had the pleasure of having dinner here with friends. Upon entering we were greeted warmly by the hostess who then brought us to our table. A minute later we were welcomed by Justin, the owner. Off to a good start. Once the rest of our party arrived, there were 7 of us, our server Brendon took our drink orders while we all checked out the menu. Others like me changed their mind several times because there are so many good choices. Well I ended up with wings and my favorite dish here, the Oak salad. Wednesday is $.75 wings night. I ordered my medium with hot sauce on the side. They were ok but my husband ordered the Asian sesame and they were excellent. The highlight for me is the Oak salad. I had that at a recent Yelp event & loved it. The cranberries, candied pecans, and different greens give it a nice texture & mixture of textures. It was topped with a nice vanilla apple vinegarette. Great food, outstanding service, and good company made for the perfect evening. 2025-14

Came with a group of friends for dinner and had a great experience! On Wing Wednesday, wings are 75 cents each, with several sauces to choose from. I didn't get wings, but seriously considered it when I saw the PB&J sauce. I ordered the Brewery Burger which was AMAZING! The beer cheese and burnt bacon adds a depth of flavor to the 2-patty burger. It doesn't come with a side but doesn't need one because it filling on its own. Our waiter, Brendon, was friendly and checked on us occasionally to ensure we had everything we needed. Overall we had a great experience and I'd love to come back here again in a few months!

Asian Chop Salad with inedible grilled chicken
    Beth H.

My husband and I stopped in for a bite this past Friday. We were asked if we had a reservation (which we did not), but were seated right away. Our server was attentive and friendly - she and the manager are the only things that kept my review from being one (1) star. We ordered our drinks - a cocktail for me and a draft beer for my husband. We selected the French onion dip that was served with homemade chips. The dip was not hot - warm and the cheese somewhat congealed because of it. My husband selected the triple threat burger - burger, bacon, and smoked brisket. Something tasted "off"...he tried dismantling it to identify what the odd taste was, but the patty, the brisket, and the pickle were all unpleasant. I ordered the Asian chopped salad with grilled chicken. When ordering, the waitress suggested I have the dressing on the side, as "a lot of customers don't care for it". I guess that should have been my warning...when my salad was received, there was no chicken. I informed the server and she grabbed my salad bowl to take into the kitchen. This I also found odd, as I anticipated she might just bring the chicken on a separate plate. When she returned, my salad was topped with slices of chicken that were completely charred and inedible-I could hardly cut through them with my knife! I'm not sure if the started grilling the chicken when they got my order, forgot to put it on the salad, and left it on the grill??? I never send back my meal, but after issues with both our meals, I had to say something. The waitress was very apologetic and offered the opportunity to select something else. I declined and said that I would be happy to pay for our drinks, appetizer, and my husband's burger (as he had easiness and pulled it all apart), but asked if she could take my salad off the bill. She was gracious and said she would send the manager over. He was also very apologetic and stated that the chicken was unacceptable before I could even share my thoughts. He offered us complementary desserts (which we graciously declined), and ended up taking both entrees off the bill. This is great customer service and might just make the difference in me giving Duke's another chance. The restaurant was pretty crowded, so I'm hoping that it was just an "off" night for the chef - either that, or they need to hire someone new who's cooking skills are a match for the customer service and hospitality

Possibly the best side salad I ever had... Oak Salad, featuring oak leaf lettuce. (NOT oak leaves)

Bar atmosphere dining with a hybrid menu: bar meets fine dining. I was here for a Yelp event. A bit out of the way for my Buffalo address, but if I lived within 5 miles of Duke's, I would definitely return more often. Staff and owner friendly and courteous, personable. Ambience, though bar, was warm and cozy. There is a set off room for a large group or private party. The food that I was served was quite good. Now that I am writing this, I am hankering for that salad. Oak (lettuce) Salad with a house dressing. The restaurant was clean and well organized. Bathroom was clean. Prices were moderate to high. But a very nice mix. Something for everyone. To me Duke's seems a "Cheers" kind of place: visit a few times and before you know it, everyone knows your name.

Had dinner and a fun evening with friends. It was 75 cent wing night. I ordered Wings, Truffle Fries and an Espresso Martini. The food was good. We definately will be going back to try other menu items.

Another visit to Dukes, another perfect dining experience! The oak salad is the absolute best salad around! The pretzel bites were delicious with the accompanying dips - beer cheese and sweet mustard - both yummy! Our waiter did a great job taking care of us ... and I am glad to see they still offer to have your table pick a ball with your table number for your bill to be covered (I thought this was just a grand opening thing). Everyone at our table enjoyed their food - I didn't hear a single complaint. Thank you, Dukes!

Espresso Manhattan: $8 on Wednesdays! Loved the espresso flavor

After a great Yelp Elite Squad event back in early-January 2025 at Duke's Tavern, I knew I had to come back and grab dinner here at some point. Some point presented itself as a night out with friends grabbing dinner together and it turned into a great night! One of my friends made a reservation for 6pm Wednesday earlier in the week for 10 of us, in which seven, including myself, were able to make it. I arrived right about 6pm to a packed parking lot, but I was still able to find a spot a little farther down from the main entrance. I did see a parking lot in the back of this strip/plaza so I wasn't really concerned about parking. Duke's Tavern did a great job accommodating us with getting multiple tables bunched together in their dining room. Inside, it is dark but I didn't have an issue reading the menu, with a few TVs on and music playing over speakers, but not too loud as our tables were able to talk to each other from one end to the other. Our waiter for the night, Brendon, poured glasses of water and took our drink orders as we tried to figure out what we wanted for dinner. On Wednesdays, they have a $0.75 wing special as well as $8 Espresso Martinis and Espresso Manhattans - I couldn't resist the Espresso Manhattan! I quite enjoyed that, all the typical Manhattan flavors with a nice touch of espresso, all blending together nicely. Brendon did a great job answering questions, making sure we didn't go thirsty, and had everything we wanted for our meals. For dinner, I went with their Steak Sandwich, which is chopped steak, (bell) peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach, provolone cheese, nestled between two buttery, toasted sourdough (I think) slices. This comes with a side of their chips, but I upgraded my side to their Parm Truffle Fries ($2 extra). Everything was great! The sandwich was hot, stuffed with plenty of tender, juicy steak, lots of provolone cheese, and plenty of veggies. The bread holding the sandwich together was buttery and had the perfect toast and crunch. The Parm Truffle Fries were excellent as well - Crispy and large with plenty of truffle and parmesan on top. I like how Duke's Tavern uses waffle fries; it's not often I have those. I did sneak a bit of one my friends' Oak Salad, which is a must-try just to taste their vanilla apple vinaigrette. I did not need the salad though; my dinner was more than enough to fill me up! Of all the handhelds on their menu, the Steak Sandwich is the most expensive, but after ordering and eating it, I feel it is worth the asking price, no question I'd order it again. I'm so glad I was able to come back and grab dinner at Duke's Tavern! The parking, the inside, the staff, the drinks, and, of course, the food were great! Duke's Tavern helped make it a great night out with friends.

Everything was great. Had the brewery burger which is loaded with cheese and bacon. It comes sitting on top of cheese sauce on the plate. Even though it's saucy I was able to eat it without being messy. It was delicious.

Great daily specials and happy hour! I really enjoyed the artichoke appetizer but found the burnt ends not to be as tender as I remembered. My crispy chicken sandwich was excellant! will definetly be back and save room for dessert!

Great start with $5 drafts and other happy hour deals 4 -6. They had deep fried artichokes hearts as an appetizer special so we started with them, they were very good ! We also got what we went back for, the Burnt ends ! They were not as good as the last time ,this time they were not as crispy on the outside but still tender inside.they also had a lot of fat on the ends but it did melt in your mouth. Still good but not as awesome We also both got the crispy chicken which was very crispy and tasty on a buttered roll! We opted for truffle fries. Would have liked them to be hotter and crispy, they were room temp and a tad bit soft like they were sitting awhile . Friendly service will try again .

Eggplant Caprese 9/10 Very crispy eggplant breading. The eggplant itself was cooked good. There was also more eggplant than there was Mozz and tomato- so I would suggest adding another couple slices to balance out every bite. I'd add a touch more balsamic too. Bison sliders 8/10 Meat was good, the slider burgers were pretty thick and juicy. I would recommend since they were so think maybe cooking them a minute less for a more medium cook. I liked the goat cheese paired with the meat but you really couldn't taste it, i wish there was more. I'm not sure if it was the onion jam or the blueberry BBQ but something was a little spicy. Bbq pork belly tacos 7/10 The pork was cooked great, and the bbq was a good flavor. I liked the idea behind the double shell (one hard, one corn tortilla), but I think it would have worked better if it was a flour tortilla because both shells ended up breaking and I needed to use a fork to eat it. Between the hard shell and the sweet potato crisps, there was too much crunch for me. I did like the pairing of the pineapple with the BBQ sauce.

He once told me that the only thing worse than cheap wine is Buffalo in the winter and of course, here we are.. We searched Yelp and Share Kitchen had great reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. Our server was Hannah and she is absolutely a 5 stars gem! Super nice and down to earth. We ordered several dishes: 1) Eggplant Caprese: deep fried eggplant, tomato, basil chiffonade, and balsamic drizzle. The eggplant is breaded and spiced nicely. It was served hot. There are 2 and it was good 2) Roasted Artichoke: it was really the heart with the stem, breaded, served with a very small amount of arugula, lots of shaved parmesan and a lemon wedge. This was very good- wish there was a bit more arugula. My bad for not ordering a salad 3) Bison Sliders: the blueberry BBQ sauce intrigued me. There are 3 and it is served medium, or maybe medium rare. The grilled onions were yummy on there! 4) Jackruit Tacos: these were on the paper menu with their specials. What is smart is the taco shell is fried and they serve it inside a regular tortilla. Both corn. Yummy with the pickled onion. 5) chocolate ganache cake: GF and surprisingly dense and yummy. Served with a dollop of strawberry jam and some whipped cream. Yummy! I didn't take a photo of it as we just dove in! We are bummed that they are booked tomorrow night! It's a great place to take a date and there are tables for 4 or you can eat at the bar as well. All around great ambience, our server is awesome and the food ono!! Both were smooth, well balanced, and what we were hoping for on a cold winter morning! Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with the food selection. We were hoping for a light breakfast but options were limited to cookies and a few small pastries. The items that sounded most appealing were already sold out for the day which was a bit of a bummer! This is definitely not a full breakfast spot. Prices were on par with what you'd expect from a craft coffee shop, especially in the Williamsville area.
