We came here for the first time in a looooong time to have brunch to celebrate a birthday. They were very accommodating in having a table easily accessible for someone in a wheelchair and we did give them notice when we made the reservations. The manager/host was sooo friendly and helpful and very nice; impressed! Our waitress was very sharp and quickly retrieved our beverages, talked us thru the menu and then took our orders when we were ready. We did not feel rushed at all and food came out timely and in one hurried pace. Everything was delicious! Breakfast waffle (so big!), 2 French toasts, and omelette were wonderful! 3/2024: Eggs Benedict 8/10 Eggs- way under poached for me. The whites were still super slimy inside, which grosses me out a lot. Pea meal bacon- really good. English muffin- got really soggy really fast and would not stay together and was difficult to pick up with a fork. Hollandaise- pretty good. Had a good flavor but not super lemony. Was pretty thin too, didn't stay on your bite easily. Home fries 9/10 Pretty good. They were seasoned. The outsides were crispy and soft insides. Fully cooked. Reserved a table to celebrate a birthday. Have been here many times before, but not to eat in the last 12-15 months. Have to say I was shocked at some of the food prices. I ordered a Hot pepper fettuccine dish, served with filet - but for $42 expected maybe homemade pasta? Beef slices throughout? Nope! Bland run of the mill pasta, a SMALL (less than 4oz) piece of beef and not "hot" at all. Son ordered roasted chicken, skin not crispy, barely seasoned. Commented he only ate it because he was hungry. Had to try to slather sauce on side for flavor. $18 for a glass of wine? I get that dining out can be pricey these days but just left feeling underwhelmed. Wait staff not very informative. FIL Asked what the difference was between regular and special pork chops on menu and this 86 year old had to basically get the menu pointed out to him that there's "different preparations" oh really? But could you explain what the difference is? Then she disappeared for well over 10 minutes when we are all clearly done eating. Not as special a night as I had hoped. Maybe I'll stick to cocktails at the bar or a pizza next time. read more

I recently visited 800 Maple for the first time, though I've ordered from there through DoorDash before. They used to have an amazing pizza with chorizo (I think) and honey, which was absolutely delicious. Sadly, they took it off the menu, and I'm not sure why, because it was a standout. I really hope they bring it back! I've also been for brunch once, and while the place itself is great, I was a bit let down. The atmosphere was lovely, and the server was excellent--he took the time to chat with us and was always there when we had questions. Even though it was busy, he still made sure to pay attention to us. However, the woman who helped bring out and box the food came across as rude. She seemed annoyed a few times, and I'm not sure if it was something we did or if she was just having a bad day. Hopefully, it was the latter because the rest of the staff was very friendly. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it for brunch--the mimosas are fantastic, and it's a great spot for a girls' gathering! As for dinner, I can't fully comment since the only dish I loved was that pizza, which is no longer on the menu. read more

Our first time going here and we had a great experience! We decided to go the day before Christmas Eve and start a new tradition for our little family. Everything was delicious, and the service was awesome! Our daughter is 1 and the staff was really kind to her, and even brought her her own little water cup without us asking. My husband and I split the burrata and honey appetizer and it was amazing. For our entree I got the Hanger steak, the horseradish sauce was so good. My husband got the special of the day, the wagu bolognese and loved it. Dessert was a cherry tart and it was the perfect balance of sweet and tart, with melty vanilla ice cream on top! Sometimes it's hard finding a nice restaurant that accommodates kids. If you're looking for a nice romantic dinner, but that is welcoming to children look no further. Will be back! read more

My husband surprised me with a nice date here last week. I asked him what I should wear and he said jeans would be ok. I will say I'm so glad I didn't trust him. I opted for a dress, heels and a nice duster because I'm always cold. Thankfully I made the right choice as it's described as fine dining online and I would have been living walking in there with my best part of American Eagle BF jeans. The restaurant is really nice and the atmosphere is very elegant. I will say it tends to be a bit loud for my liking but the ambiance is still quite nice. The drinks were awesome. I tried a few of the specialty cocktails and they did not disappoint. After reviewing the menu, we started with charred Spanish octupus and salmon meatballs. My husband had the halibut and I opted to have pasta. There's a hot pepper fettuccine and steak dish that I wanted but the steak doesn't come cooked to my liking. I didn't ask to modify it but it was implied that it only comes one way. Because of that, I opted to get another hot pepper dish. The cavatappi sounded the same minus the steak, so I went with that instead. We both really enjoyed our meals. I will say that the octopus was not to my liking and the salmon meatballs were not my favorite. They did have this amazing dill dipping sauce that I would love to have a personal supply of. It was delicious. My meal was great. I really enjoyed the heat from the peppers. It was so good. I love the type of heat that makes you take pause but keeps you coming back for more. It had tons of flavor and I would eat it again. My husband enjoyed his fish. It was served on a bed of rice and corn that was absolutely delicious. I know we both really enjoyed our meals. Began with the Fig Blossom cocktail which was great. For appetizers, the wild mushroom arancini and the Michael pizza. Both good - the arancini were indeed mushroomy, the pizza was great. Went out on a limb and tried the long island duck breast, cooked medium, for an entree. Wasn't particularly up my alley - a lot happening with the parsnip puree and strawberry rhubarb. However, the duck itself was good; the skin was exceptionally crispy and tasty. Added Lobster mac and cheese for a side - VERY creamy, very good. Ended with the brookie - a warm cookie/brownie combo with cold vanilla ice cream which was phenomenal. Washed down dessert with an espresso martini. Had a group of 11 and every single person left extremely pleased! All of our food was divine. Eggs Benedict, Monte Cristo, and the breakfast pizza being the favorites. The place is beautiful inside, lots of parking. We had someone in our party with very severe food allergies who requires a lot of accommodations (printed on a card provided to the waitress and chef) and they made her food safely and as requested and had great attitude about it, it was so appreciated! I had an excellent dinner. I ordered the Chicken Downtown. It is a nicely breaded chicken breast on top of a very generous bowl of rigatoni in a tomato cream sauce. There is no side dish served with the chicken, not a salad or vegetable, but the main course is quite enough! The bread basket had 6 small slices of crusty, very good bread, soft butter and a tomatoey spread. Since all of our dishes had sauce, it would have been nice if we were offered a refill bread basket. Came here for our 5th year anniversary and left feeling underwhelmed. We were seated and our table was immediately broken. Service staff was incredibly helpful in trying to fix it but ultimately needed to move us to a new table because the leaves were hitting our legs while we were looking at the menu making it uncomfortable. The next chair I was sat at was also broken so 800 maple may be due for a remodel in its near future as both the tables we sat at had broken furniture. Our waiter was very sweet but bit unprepared for a busy Sunday. He had served my partner the Ithaca flower beer rather than the flower wine we had actually ordered but had left the table before we could correct him to go serve his other tables. We were rarely checked on to place more drink orders in throughout the night and getting more cocktails was slow process. Food was overall pretty solid. As a pizza snob, I was hoping for a bit more from the pizza. We ordered the Anthony and it was a softer crust and could just use a bit more flavor. Desert was excellent as I can never say no to a crème brûlée. The brookie was next level rich but still delicious. A friend treated me to a birthday dinner. It was my first visit to 800 Maple and it was great. I went for one of the specials, cavatappi with shrimp. It proved to be an excellent choice. In a nutshell: 5 star service, chic decor, great food. Starting with service, every member of the staff we interacted with was friendly and checked on us frequently. The food options were great too. I got oysters and the Paisano wood fired pizza and both were fantastic. The pizza was large enough to split between two people if you also got a side or dessert, or would make a great appetizer for several people as well. The pizzas run $20ish. The other entrees include pasta, chicken, steak or seafood and run $30-$45ish. The dining room and bar atmosphere felt chic, the type of place where jeans are ok with a nice top. Tables have linens covered with a sheet of paper. However the dining room felt cramped by the time we finished dinner, weaving tightly through diners on our way out. Excellent. The food is beautifully prepared, nicely presented, comes out at the right temperature. The wine list is more than adequate. Despite the crowding, they will be ready for you at your scheduled reservation time. The prices are reasonable. The service is ok. The Wait staff is well-versed in the subtleties of the menu. Even the bus staff are helpful beyond their job description. Due I think to the well-deserved popularity of the establishment, service can be a bit slow. The bar is magnificently stocked with hard to find bourbons at your disposal. There is real talent in that kitchen. If it wasn't for delays between certain courses, and waiting a long time for the check, 800 Maple would've earned the fifth star. read more

The food was not great. My wife ordered Ahi tuna rare and it was overcooked. I had the mediterranean seafood bake which had shrimp, lobster, scallops and halibut in it. It was so over seasoned that if I had not been looking, I could not known which was which. All that I could taste was pepper. Another in our party had chicken which was very dry. We went to 800 Maple for a Saturday night dinner with an early evening reservation expecting a luxurious meal. At that early hour, 5:30, the well appointed dining room was sparsely seated yet we were seated at a table in the corner which sadly proved to be a too small and uncomfortable for our party of four. Two of our party's orders were downtown chicken, and another was a lamb dish. My friends reported that the servings were plentiful and both dishes were well cooked and well seasoned. The fourth dish ordered, a seafood pasta dish, at almost $50, was a disappointing. It was my order, and I had had it years before. At that time it had arrived at my table with a lobster tail that hardly fit on the plate and an abundant assortment of large shrimp and scallops covering the pasta. This time the dish I was served looked like a miniature copy of the one I had before. Everything was small, and for example, the one scallop was cut into four pieces and the lobster tail fit less than a quarter of the plate... very disappointing. It might be a sign of the times, but I'll go somewhere else for my luxurious dinner next time. Others might say three out of four successful meals, is not bad. read more

It's been many years since our last visit to 800 Maple but the ambience hasn't changed..it's a classy looking restaurant with a nice bar. We had a few cocktails (winter old fashion and some St Paddy's day cocktail) and they were both very good. The mint cocktail was surprisingly not too sweet and the old fashioned had some cinnamon simple syrup which gave it nice flavours. Finished off with a whiskey sour. Shared a moist cookie-ice cream dessert which was very good. Best part was the service-the bartender/server was super attentive and nice. We had a 7pm reservation in their private dining room for nine people. We all arrived within 5-10 minutes of our reservation time and a waitress said she would take a drink order. Drinks took over 30 minutes to receive. Bread came after with a small butter that ran out after half the table. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Orders taken, asked for more butter and bread. Waiting. Dinner arrives after two hours. Plates are burning hot. When we questioned the wait, manager said it was fine dining with food made to order. Three people had requested little spice in their food ( being told by server, also, that food was made to order ) Food arrived heavily spiced. Edible, but not as they ordered. Have been coming here for years, but had not been back since Covid times and WOW what a mistake that was. Everything from the service, to the drinks and the food were exceptional. We had reservations for 6:30 and found parking to be easy even though it was fully booked inside. It was cozy inside and dark which was the perfect vibe for an intimate dinner at night. Our waitress was lovely, she went over the specials with us and even recommended different dishes and alternate changes to some of the dishes so they met our dietary needs. She even overheard my dad get excited about the lemon sorbet they had on the menu so when we ordered our desserts and that wasn't one of the options we chose, she brought a lemon scoop out for my dad anyways. Really special touches that make an experience so much better. Our meal was delicious! We had the potato croquettes to start, and I ordered the bone-in chicken, my husband had the halibut special, my mom had the chicken Milanese and my dad has the wagyu burger. We all have our meals a 10/10. The chicken was so moist and flavorful and it came with spaghetti squash with sage and mashed potatoes. Out of this world. The dessert was an apple pie tart and a trio of gelato and sorbet. There was nothing left, we finished both desserts between two of us lol. I think the dessert which was a strawberry rhubarb torte blew me away, and was one of my favorite things. Came for a birthday dinner with boyfriend and family. When we arrived and gave the name for the reservation an older gentleman customer appeared at the host area asking if his party could change tables, as it was too cold. I knew that meant WE would be obtaining this less than ideal table. There are three tables placed in front of two large glass double doors that allow quite a draft into the building. Boy was I thankful I didn't wear a dress to dinner as I had planned! Dinner conversation included ideas as to how this could be remedied. Perhaps some of those thick thermal lined drapes? My boyfriend and I ordered a bottle of wine, which helped warm me up. We began with the fried green tomato appetizer and it was pretty good. My boyfriend and I both ordered a wagyu flank steak dinner special. I ordered my steak medium, but it was served medium rare and sliced on the plate. This irks me, as good wait staff should have the steak cooked more since it was so obviously undercooked. I decided to eat the steak as is or some of it I should say. The steak was pretty tough in my opinion, so I ate maybe two of the more cooked pieces some asparagus and an unknown grain accompaniment. After the meal, when the table was being cleared I inquired what grain I had eaten and it was apparently farro. Oddly it was missing from the entrée description page. She has Paloma's all the time but this one was way too sour. Dinner was at 8pm. So the restaurant was not full when we arrived and it thinned out during our meal. Appetizers were oysters and a scallop dish ... these were good. Dinner was: - Salmon good, - Tony pizza (not good) - tortellini dish (not good) - seafood pasta (was ok) Now the service - waitress checking on us (grade F) - getting water at table and refilling (grade F) - getting bread to table (grade F) - food arriving in a timely manner (grade B) - atmosphere (grade A) - timeliness for dessert or coffee (grade D) - timeliness for check (grade F) The waitress, who knows. Maybe she had a bad day. The restaurant opens at 5 and we were there at 8 soooo can't be over worked today , but maybe something else. I rarely do reviews, but tonight pissed me off. All they have to do is bring water , keep it topped off, bring bread, and come by to see how we are doing. So 800 maple will be off our list for a while. Excellent alternative for special occasion or business dinner. Excellent atmosphere and incredible service. The bar is amazing and has an extensive choices of cocktails. Their Dirty Martini is definitely one of the top 5 I've ever had. The food is simply delicious with delicate presentations. The Tuna Tartar is probably one of the best things they offer. Their chicken cutlets are good, but they offer by far better dishes. I was not impressed with their Espresso Martini, but everything else was just FABULOUS! We were out shopping on a Wednesday evening and decided going home to cook wasn't in the cards. A quick call to 800 Maple and Patrick answered the phone and said tables were available. Upon arriving he greeted us and said "I hope you don't mind the best table?" While he said it with a bit of humor he wasn't joking. We were given a large circular corner booth where we could sit side by side to enjoy our meals. The ambiance was perfect. Our server arrived and took our orders. He was polite and attentive. We kept it simple for our meals. We started out with a glass of wine roasted mussels and clams. They were all delicious. Our meal came with a small bread basket that was perfect with this dish. We even were provided with more bread when we ran out. Next we had Parmesan Truffle Fries and one of their artesian pizzas. Both of these were excellent. We've been here before and have always enjoyed our experiences here, but this evening alone has made us want to come back. This was my first time having brunch at 800 Maple and I will most certainly be returning. Our server was wonderful and attentive. He offered more drinks when we were low and was polite and professional. The winner for me was the Eggs Benedict. This is probably the best I've ever had. The potatoes were well seasoned and had a crisp to them without being overdone. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the hollandaise was amazing. The eggs sat atop peameal bacon and toasted bread, making the perfect Eggs Benedict. My friends got two different pizzas which looked phenomenal. Warning! The bacon is not crispy! We stopped in for Sunday brunch and it was ok but some pretty egregious mistakes. The atmosphere is nice and service was good. Lots of young people in training but they did great. I had an open faced omelette and it was great , one of the best I've ever had. Their breakfast potatoes are also delicious with just the right about of caramelized onions mixed in. I also ordered a side of bacon and specified that I needed it crispy. When they brought it out, it was not at all crispy by anyone's definition. It took forever for our waitress to come back over and have it sent back. Also the Diet Coke was flat and I had to send it back. Dan had the French toast and he was really happy with his food.
