okay - this place was fantastic. there is nothing i didn't like. the bread was awesome; drinks perfect. all five of us thoroughly enjoyed every bite. i had crab rav in a broth that was so awesomely crabby i couldn't believe it - getting that smell and flavor can't be easy but, don't care! it was the very best crab-anything i've had other than cracking steamed blues on newspaper. we will be back for sure even though we live 1.5 hours away. the space was open and spacious with appropriate music and a bar i want to visit. seating was super comfy and the decor calming, simple yet elegant. read more

Went here for the first time Friday night for a girls dinner and drinks! Their espresso martini was very good. We also tried the charcuterie board, which I do wish had more cheese on it b it was tasty. My main course was the braised short rib - it was very flavorful and a large portion so I took about half home! Would definitely recommend, it has very nice ambiance and lots of dishes to choose from. There is parking in the back, which is a shared lot it seems so we luckily found a spot. read more

Came here for drinks with a group of friends on a Saturday night. I liked that the bar area was in a separate room from the rest of the restaurant! It was spacious, and surprisingly for a Saturday night it wasn't too busy at all, even though there was live music. The drink menu was ok, some wines, beers, cocktails and mocktails. I got the prickly pear margarita and enjoyed it. I hope to come back again for dinner and wine, and will update my review then. read more

We had heard mixed reviews going in for the first time. Well we were more than pleased with every bit we encountered. Inside the restaurant has a clean and modern feel to it. They have sound diffusers on the ceiling which makes it nice and quiet to talk. We started with apps of octopus and ricotta gnocchi both were amazing, the sauce with the octo was incredible. Then followed by the Korean Short ribs and blackened salmon. Both entrees were again delicious. Wefinished with a lavender brownie. When you think lavender you think overpowering but it wasn't it had just the right balance. We will be back soon so save us a table. read more

Came in for dinner and I ordered the flank steak cooked medium rare. It came out and some pieces were fully brown and one or two were a little bit pink but overall it was overcooked. I sent it back which is rare that I do. It came out 10 minutes later basically raw! So again I sent it back and it came out almost medium rare but the thicker inside pieces were purple and still raw. Server was apologetic (but overall not helpful) we had to request that the manager came over. Worst manager I've ever spoken to in my life. She seemed scared and like she had never spoken to a customer in her life. She continued to gaslight me that the first steak was cooked medium rare when it was indeed not. Paid 42$ for them to remake my steak 3 times not once offered a discount, it being removed from the bill, or even something to compensate for their error. Ridiculous. Won't be coming back here anytime soon just based off the customer service skills that were shown when they made an error multiple times. Almost felt like they were trying to make me feel bad for my steak not being cooked correct! read more

We arrived at BUF around noon and were hungry, but waited until we got to the hotel and checked in before worrying about eating. The lady at the desk at our hotel told us that this place was really good, so we came here. Getting there around 1PM, they weren't busy, there were only 3 other tables sat at the time and by the time we left, there were only a couple of people sitting at the bar. Our server was great! Offered great descriptions of the food, as well as suggestions. The menu is loaded with lots of appetizing options, including healthy options! We started with their Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo, which was the soup of the day - IT WAS AMAZING! Very much like what we expect to get when we're in NOLA! Next up, I got the cobb salad... such an interesting take on a cobb salad it was! Instead of coming with sliced boiled egg, it came with two deviled eggs on the side of the dish and those were some amazing deviled eggs! Smooth yolk filling and lots of rich flavor! Then, instead of coming with grilled chicken breast, it came with their homemade chicken salad, scooped and put on another side of the dish. That chicken salad had lots of great, fresh flavor too! Had the opportunity to enjoy lunch here on a rep visit with Alex Clark the CEO and founder of Fort Hamilton Distillery. Our service was immaculate! Our bartender was attentive throughout the entirety of our event and was happy to adjust to our various needs without a flinch. Our cocktails were to a T with a clear attention to detail. What brought me down to 4 stars was the food. The wings and gnocchi were excellent! The chicken Milanese and shrimp were not to my expectations. Still solid dishes, but not to the level of the rest of the food we received. I highly recommend making a stop and trying it for yourself! Found Grezi a few months ago and it has quickly become one of my go to spots. One of the few places in the Buffalo area where you can get a mostly healthy, higher quality ingredient meal with a trendier more contemporary setting. It has a nice elevated vibe, that's not stuffy, interesting and refreshing drinks, and a lot of various options to chose from. Both a vegetarian and a carnivore, and anyone in between could enjoy a meal at this place. Again, about quality, the ingredients they use are just fresher, tastier, and more elevated. Perfect place to go for brunch, bring some one visiting town, or have a business meeting. My literal only critique is sometimes service can be a bit slow. But the staff is always friendly and chill. Def would recommend, wish I could give 4.5. read more

I tried out Grezi's twice this week for lunch, and then for dinner. I must say I enjoyed my dinner visit, better than my lunch experience. Why you might be asking? Simply put, it was the choice of food I had. Everything else was wonderful, the service was great. The restaurant's decor was beautiful, and the bar area was comfortable and just as nice as the dining area. If I were to come back, I would come for the drinks and association at the bar. Lunch- Caesar salad (special)- Nothing to write home about. Very simple salad. Smash burger ($21)- This is one of Grezi's most popular menu items. A burger consisting of ground strip, pork and chuck. How could you go wrong? Well, the burger was on the drier side, and normally smash burgers are juicy and full of flavor. I also didn't care for the spicy tomato relish. It was a bit overpowering for my liking. This entree came with a side of fries, and those were overcook and was extremely hard. The Forager (drink)- well crafted drink.. Smooth bold flavor Dinner- Lamb chops (2pcs)- This appetizer was quite delicious. The lamb chops was seasoned with cinnamon, and as different as that sounds. It work wonderfully with the farro salad. The salad consisted of a (sweet) cider vinaigrette. With goat cheese, and plum wine reduction. Again this was very delicious. Roasted Branzino- (whole fish) OMG the flavor of this entree was amazing. The skin was very crispy and the fish itself was light. I throughly enjoyed the parsnip purée, with the onion pearls and lemon herb oil. Be mindful though, this entree has quite a bit of small pieces of fish bones throughout. Carrot cake- A wonderful warm cake, top with a scoop of ice cream. read more

An upscale bar/restaurant with a rather limited menu. Server was more interested in the larger party next to us, despite only another couple & ourselves. Being late in the evening, I opted for a starter only- gnocchi. Delicious. Husband had seafood pasta. Also delicious. Glass of water, a beer. The issues? Had to request a spoon for the pasta & waited several minutes for it to be delivered. The real put down was - shame on me- requesting more bread. An $8 charge for a mini loaf. Another time my stomach ate before my phone, but can't help it when the food is as good as it is here. We have been numerous times for dinner, and also attended their Easter kids craft event this past year, and each time we are never disappointed. For the craft event, the kids were served French fries and grilled cheese and drinks. Honestly, I would get a grilled cheese and French fries here anytime if they had it in the regular menu- delicious. This most recent visit we were celebrating our anniversary. We ordered the charcuterie board, marinated olives, Brussels sprout bruschetta, gnocchi, and my husband ordered the fish fry, and for drinks I did a lemon drop martini and my husband had a tequila, neat. When our server arrived with our drinks, they gave us complimentary champagne toasts. So unexpected and thoughtful! Charcuterie boards are typically a hit or miss at restaurants for me- some places give you nothing and call it a board, and others fill it up. Grezi fills up that board! Three different cheeses, jams and honey, and two types of meat that held generous portions. Had we realized how much was going to be on it, we would have ordered less food, but we like leftovers lol! The brussel sprout bruschetta was beyond delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted, and the brussel sprouts were nice and crisp, not a soggy one in sight. My husband really enjoyed his fish fry, with hand cut fries, and my gnocchi was the perfect comfort food. Typically we are dessert people, but this time around we couldn't help ourselves and ate so much we missed dessert, but, we have had dessert here in the past visits and my tip is to save room for dessert because it is delicious. Definitely recommend stopping here for drinks and apps, dinner, or even just dessert and a cocktail or wine. Can't wait to return! read more

My husband and I tried Grezi last weekend. I got the black cod, he got the steak. The food was well made and a good amount of flavor, although pricy for what you were getting. My fish was 40 dollars and had no side. His steak was just about 60 dollars and had a side of potatoes. We had a very delicious almond cake dessert, I honestly think that was my favorite part! We then had a couple of drinks after dinner at the bar which had well crafted cocktails, but also a little pricy but well made. Service at dinner and the bar was great, we were also greeted by the chef during our meal to make sure we were happy and enjoying everything. In terms of the restaurant itself, the ambiance is a little "brighter" .. the decor, walls, floor.. everything appears fresh, but it is definitely light. Not necessarily the spot I would go if I was looking for a "dark and moody" type night. Overall a pretty good experience there. read more

My husband and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED everything about Grezi! Let's start off with Morgan who was AWESOME from start to finish! She was thorough,attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. Everyone else who had a role in our enjoyable night were very nice/friendly as well. And the attention to detail for everything was on point! Now as far as the food....it was AAAAMAZING! We were delighted with: a bread from nyc,crab ravioli, gumbo, salad and crème brûlée(sorry for not providing key detail of the names of the food items). Would you love a 5 star atmosphere/ambiance etc?...then Grezi is the restaurant to go to! We are foodies and this restaurant will NOT disappoint. Fine dining in the old Brunners Tavern . I sat at the bar since I arrived early for our reservation and order a sour beer (forgot the brand ) that was actually really refreshing . Once our 6 top was seated, we browsed the menu and were told the specials . I settled on 2 appetizers - the portobello carpaccio and the Cajun shrimp with polenta . Other things that were ordered were the Cornish Game hen and Smash Burger (well received ) and the NY strip (not so much ) . As for my two appetizers , I enjoyed both but would definitely order the Shrimp again - the flavors were outstanding! We all ordered dessert too - brownie was the favorite , the crème brûlée was decent but did not taste like the white chocolate as advertised . Service was good and attentive - prices a bit high . Went here last night for date night with my husband. First time for both of us. We were seated in the dining room and the chairs were very cute and comfortable. I liked the plates, the silverware, the little candle and flower on the table too. Taylor was super nice and got us our drinks quickly. We quickly discovered the high prices on the menu and decided to get a bunch of starters to share. We ordered the Brussels bruschetta and Caesar salad to share and then I ordered the Korean Short Ribs and my husband ordered the lamb lollipops. The Brussels bruschetta was AMAZING. The bread had a perfect crunch, the burrata-like cheese had a perfect texture and the Brussel sprouts were cooked heavenly in peanut sauce and balsamic vinegar. I was willing to forget the $15 price tag. After that, I was excited to try to the Caesar and unfortunately we were both disappointed. Even with the sardines presented on top of the salad, it didn't taste like a Caesar at all. There was corn and a heavy hand of pepper sprinkled throughout the dish, which overpowered any whisper of garlic or lemon juice. It was a disappointing and small $15 salad. Lastly, we moved on to our main course: Korean short ribs and lamp lollipops. The Korean short ribs with kimchi sticky rice was presented artfully with Szechuan sauce. The sticky rice was delicious and so was the short ribs but I only got 3 or 4 small bites of rib meat! There was barely any meat on the bone and for $19, I would hope to have at least 5 good bites. My husband said his 2 lamp lollipops were good but not great for $18. We understand they were appetizer portions but the portion does not fit the price. All and all, it was a nice but pricey night and we ended up going somewhere else to get more meat and drinks for our buck. We did see the brunch and lunch menu to be more price appropriate and appetizing so we'll be back! read more

Met up with my old friends from nearly 50 years back at Grezi. Granted, one of them is a partner in the restaurant, so we would have gotten excellent service at any time but the ambiance and staff were friendly and welcoming even before I sat down at the bar. Parking looked to be "iffy" on a crowded night, but was plentiful on a Thursday for early dinner. We ended up staying at the bar to eat, and only two of the four of us were drinking cocktails. I had a terrific smoked old-fashioned from their imaginative drink menu, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Wine and beer selection was extensive so, of course, I had a Guinness with my delicious steak, and a nice Cabernet to finish. My companions were pleased with their food as well, recommending everything from a nice sized smash burger to a fantastic thick and wonderfully cooked pork chop. Food items are a la cart, and everything was tempting. An evening of great conversation, drinks and food- it doesn't get better. Will definitely be returning to Grezi with the wife. read more

Caesar salads were very heavy on the anchovies. A bit overwhelming. Short rib appetizer was very tough , sauce was good. Mussel appetizer was fair at best, they almost seemed undercooked. Sauce was not very flavorful and a very small portion. Other guest had the cod and enjoyed it. Also ,the Cornish game hen was described as blah. Went out for a cocktails and appetizers at Grezi last night and it was fabulous! Enjoyed a couple of The Oliver drinks, which were delicious! My friend and I wanted to try several things so we ended up ordering several starters/appetizers and sat at the bar. The bar area in the front of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and there was a piano player who came on around 7pm. The food was delicious. See pictures of a few of the items we ordered. My favorite being the asparagus with a truffle vinaigrette, shaved goat cheese and lemon. I will definitely be back to try more of the main menu. read more

I'm a traveling physician and I check out many different restaurants across the county. I checked the reviews prior to going and I must say, I'm surprised they are not a solid 5 across the board. Some reviews were mocking their decor which was just fine. The ambiance was warm. Service was great and the food was on point. I got the chicken and waffles and the lemon ricotta pancakes- the chicken was thigh meat which was unique and the bed of cream it was on had a light and almost spicy flavor, subtly sweet. the lemon ricotta pancakes could have stood to have a tish more lemon flavor but we're still excellent. read more
