Me and the girlies were super excited that we finally got reservations to Mira. Word on the street was this new restaurant featured some of the best mediterranean food in the area. I was quite skeptical given I was a Panos regular, that served the same cuisine formerly at the same location. I'm not going to lie, I was intimadated by the menu prior to going. But that quickly went out the window,lol. First off, this place is gorgeous!! Pink and gold everywhere, with gold velvet booths!! Definetly a vibe !! The waitress was very down to earth and was well informed about the menu. She explained Mira had a small plate concept, they encourage to order a course from each section to share. I'm not going to lie, each dish was phenomenal!! No exaggeration!! And we were actually full afterwards. One friends ordered humus, I have never been a fan. However, that warm and fluffy naan with the perfectly blended humus ( i'm a texture girl) paired with the onions, spices, and oil !!! I was surprisingly pleased!! And my friends said don't sleep on that chicken thigh and i agree!! Beautifully grill chicken seasoned to the T, covered in onions and peppers laid tasty yougurt sauce. Honestly i could go on and about each dish we tried because it was just that good. Overall, I'd 100% recommend Mira, it is definetly worth the making the reservation. I would just say be open minded, ask questions as needed and get ready for an amazing culinary experiance. Great service, food comes out quickly and amazing great drink. I was so excited to have brunch here but was unfortunately disappointed. The $15 breakfast sandwich (which I've heard amazing things about) was not very good. It was served barely warm, the bacon was mostly burnt, I got little to no cheese in it and the eggs were brownish gray in several parts. The hash browns were $9 for two. Objectively good but they were way too oily and heavy for me (yes, I know hash browns are fried in oil). I also didn't love the setup of brunch. You order at the counter and then pick your own seating. We had several people bringing food and waiting us throughout the meal. I would've preferred one server that we could tip at the end. 3 stars because overall the service was good, the restaurant is beautiful and the $6 croissant was good. read more

My girlfriends and I tried Mira for brunch. We were thrilled to find out that they host their brunch in a "fast casual" way. When you walk in, you're greeted by a hostess who will hand you menus and let you know that you're welcome to take a seat anywhere you find a spot in the first floor only. Once you're ready to order, you place your order at the bar. There's a beautiful pastry case next to the register should you decide to add a little baked good into the mix! We ordered everything from their signature Tiramisu latte to their smoked salmon toast. I ordered the French toast and it was absolutely divine! Something that I'd probably order every time I visit. The restaurant itself is gorgeously decorated and the staff is attentive and kind. I'm looking forward to making this a regular brunch spot this summer! read more

I went to Mira with a group of six. The decor and lighting was beautiful. It was busy but not loud. The servers were very attentive. The drinks were tasty. We got the hanger steak skewers, the half chicken, the ricotta ravioli, the Lumache, the beef tartarte, the shrimp, the brick of feta, the Suppli, and gelato and Olive oil cake for dessert. Mira was well worth the wait!! It is so beautiful inside, and we didn't know what to expect since we hadn't been inside since it was Panos. Our waitress was very attentive and helped us pick what to get between the two of us. We got the Ruby Slipper cocktail to split, which was good but a bit sour for our taste. As a starter we got the Suppli which was like an arancini ball but mozzarella cheese- so good! I got the spaghetti which was a lighter dish and the mix of zucchini in there was delicious. My fiancé loved the ricotta gnocchi. We split the waygu steak skewer which also was great. Fantastic triple date night here this past Saturday! We had to make a reservation about a month and a half out, but well worth the wait. The ambience is moody, cozy, upscale - perfect for a date night. Our waiter guided us through the menu and recommended some great options. The menu is built a little different than normal, with one section of proteins that were smaller and on their own, a pasta section, and then larger entrees. We appreciated that our waiter explained it to us at the start! Our table started with some cocktails and wine. They make a great dirty martini (with feta stuffed olives, YUM). For appetizers we tried the Suppli, Daily Vegetable (fried sweet potato), and Crispy Octopus. I think my favorite was the Suppli, yet all of it was tasty. I had the Lamb Ribs. Melt in your mouth delicious. Had a little taste of the Lumache, Radiatori, and Hanger Steak. Tough to decide what was the best! Then we ended with dessert even though we were all pretty stuffed. Tiramisu, Basque Cheesecake, banana gelato, and chocolate gelato. And tried the I'm Working Late dessert cocktail as well. Do not skip dessert!! read more

We went to Mira with three other couples while visiting Buffalo and Niagara Falls. We went on a Thursday evening and were quite pleased (went back the next evening to try the outdoor dining). Pre-dinner cocktails were excellent, and those who tried the drink specials were pleased. For dinner we opted for the tasting menu. The variety and quantity were superb. We paired the recommended white and red wines (very reasonable at about $60). Service was outstanding, and the staff were pleasant and attentive. The samples of the desserts were perfect. The next evening we chose to sit outside. Weather was great and street noise was minimal. Based upon our tasting adventure, I chose the lamb ribs. Beautifully done, and wonderfully seasoned. While I was at Mira, I forgot I moved to Buffalo for a second - it felt like I was back in the East Village. Attractive, dimly lit, vibey place with solid bites that I think I'll bring out-of-towners to. Prices reminded me of NYC too LOL The menu was pretty eclectic/pan-mediterranean. Table faves were the hummus and pita, the Pansotti squash-filled pasta with brown butter and truffle, Culurgiones - potato filled pasta with tomato sauce, the hanger steak and mushrooms from the grilled section of the menu, and for dessert, the tiramisu with malted milk mascarpone. There was a "Taste of Mira" experience where they decide what you eat, which I hope to try soon. I also enjoyed their cocktails. Got a lamb fat-washed bourbon based drink called Keen's Special. I've only ever had one other lamb fat-washed drink at Theodora, which is one of my favorite cocktails in NYC. Also had the Little Cosette, a vodka-based fig leaf and orange liqueur cocktail that was pretty crushable. Interestingly, the combo tasted more like grapefruit and I enjoyed that. I think Mira is now one of my favorite spots for cocktails in Buffalo too. Some small things that irked me but weren't deal breakers: we waited about 25 minutes for our table, even with a reservation; we didn't get serving utensils when it was family style; and it would've been nice if we got new plates between courses. Also, the Greek Salad on the menu isn't a traditional Greek salad with beets. It's a beet and feta salad with Greek salad vinaigrette (not bad just didn't expect it). Overall, I think Mira is a great addition to Buffalo's dining scene and I'm excited to try future menus. read more

I went here for brunch on a Saturday morning. No reservations are needed for brunch, you can just walk in and get in line to place your order at the counter. They give you an order number and you can go sit wherever you like, there are plenty of tables there so that's not an issue. The servers were really nice, my order arrived pretty quickly. I had ordered a smoked salmon sandwich and fresh squeezed orange juice; the sandwich was really good, although I felt that for the price point, portion size could've been bigger, since it doesn't come with any side of fries or fruit. But overall, Mira is a great spot in the city, and the location is pretty good too, you can just take a stroll around the elmwood ave afterwards. read more

I understand the concept of a small menu as that is the focus, but maybe a handful more options would have been nice. We had the Greek salad (beets, feta.. great flavor) and octopus for appetizers (octopus was probably the highlight for me, very good, but pretty small for $18) and mafaldine (shrimp pasta) which I found to be the plainest dish, subtle amount of small pieces of shrimp topped with breadcrumb.. and lamb chops (two small chops, about 6 bites worth on each chop) as entrees. My wife and I prefer to dine at the bar, have some cocktails and share apps, maybe an entree. It was very busy but amazingly there were two bar spots for us at a fairly small bar. The bar size didn't thrill my wife but we made due. The bartenders were exceptional, attentive and made amazing cocktails from a very creative menu! I believe we had a cpl different cocktails that were delicious! We then ordered three apps. We ordered the grilled octopus, steak tar tar and a third that I can't remember. They were listed on the menu consecutively and we were complimented on our choices by the bartenders! Amazing, creative, delicious, perfect amount of food for the two of us. The ambiance here is really nice, and the drinks were good. You can tell they use fresh ingredients--the limited menu feels thoughtful and upscale. Prices are on the higher side, but that's expected given the style of the restaurant. We did experience some confusion with the bill, though. Three of us ordered the same truffle gnocchi special, and the price wasn't mentioned when we ordered. Most pastas on the menu are in the $25-30 range, so we assumed the special would be similar-ish. When the check came, two of the truffle gnocchi pasta dishes were charged $50 ($25 each), and one was charged $60. When we asked the server, we were told the dish was actually $60, but they would honor the $50 price for the other two. It was very confusing, especially since all three dishes were the same. We didn't want to bother the busy server again, so we just said forget it, paid and left. Overall, the food was delicious and the atmosphere is lovely, but the billing confusion took away from the experience. It would be helpful if specials at this price point had their cost listed upfront to avoid surprises. read more

Four of us dined at Mira.., I am not sure why there is so much hype about this restaurant . The renovation is very nice but the noise level is very high. The menu is limited and pricey. We shared a Greek salad with beets.. It was ok but not a piece of arugula or lettuce to be found.. beets, olives, feta. Another mezza we shared was the rock shrimp ...battered and deep fried shrimp, lemons and a few peppers.. nothing special. Entrees were ricotta gnocci , lumache and octopus. Again. Fine but nothing special. Service was slow ; we were seated at 6:30 , ordered drinks and mezza but entrees did not arrive until 8pm. I was fortunate enough to dine here with my fiancée for Valentine's Day. There ended up being an issue with our reservation, but they were extremely kind and were able to accommodate us. We absolutely loved Mira -- everything was amazing from start to finish. There were five of us and we shared a variety of dishes: Greek salad, crispy octopus, hummus, lamb chops, swordfish spiedini, and mushrooms. Every single plate was packed with flavor. For mains (and we had plenty of leftovers!), my husband and I ordered the Mafaldine and Radiatori pastas -- hands down some of the best pasta we've had since visiting Italy. Truly outstanding. The five of us split the tiramisu and olive oil cake for dessert. This was the best tiramisu I've ever had, and the olive oil cake was so good it made me want to learn how to make my own. We're already going back this month to celebrate my husband's birthday -- thankfully a last-minute reservation opened up because it's tough to snag a regular dinner slot between 5-7pm. My family and I had the pleasure of dining at MIRA on Elmwood on New Year's Eve, and I can confidently say that it was one of the most outstanding culinary experiences we've ever had. From the moment we walked in, the warm and friendly service made us feel like honored guests. Every dish was a testament to exquisite craftsmanship. We started with the delicious focaccia and the Mezze croquettes with jamón & manchego, which set the tone for the evening. The highlight was undoubtedly the scallop, which was served with lemons sourced directly from the Amalfi coast. It was a revelation to learn that all the seafood used is brought in from the ocean within 24 to 48 hours and placed right on your plate--this freshness truly makes a difference! The homemade pasta with lobster was simply divine, and from the grill, the lamb chop accompanied by lemon potatoes was succulent and perfectly cooked. We also savored the steak with mushroom conserva, which was a showstopper in its own right. When it came to dessert, my husband and son couldn't get enough of the cheesecake with huckleberries, while I experienced a dessert revelation with the dark chocolate budino paired with blood orange and hazelnut. The combination created a delightful explosion of sweet and salty flavors that left me savoring every bite. We were able to snag a table at Buffalo's hottest new restaurant, Mira, by requesting Resy for a notification if anything became available. It was a late reservation, 8:45, and we ended up being the last diners of the night, but we never felt rushed and were quite welcomed by the entire staff in this beautiful space. We started the night with some mixed drinks, the Mira Spritz and the Funky Cold Medina (the song now delightfully rolling around in my head). The spritz was fantastic, layered, dry, and quite enjoyable. The Funky Cold Medina was really good and a great aperitif, but it was served with a seed cracker that was unbelievably fantastic in this beverage, a great balance of flavors with a hint of toffee, really complimented the drink! It wasn't long before we were seated. We thought naively that each course of the tasting menu would be bite-sized flavor morsels, but instead found that the portions were not scaled back... we definitely got our money's worth for this menu! There were four courses, but each of them had two dishes, and we were able to sample so much from this menu that we had to slow down and take half of course three home with us. We should have done the same for the pasta course too but instead ate most of it because it was so good. Next time we'll know better. Course 1 started with the Fried cheese, a nice presentation with a flavorful balance of the fried halloumi cheese and the honey and pistachios, a great starter. Our other part of the course was Tuna Conserva, so many delicious flavors in the beautiful dish, we really enjoyed this one. Course 2 consisted of Rigatoni with braised duck, and a Radiatori in cream sauce with prosciutto crudo, a dish only served with the tasting menu. The Rigatoni was perfectly cooked, and everything about the dish was well balanced, quite good. The Radiatori was a unique shape, perfectly cooked, bathed in a basic cream sauce. By itself you would have thought it's just nice... but the prosciutto crudo (raw) was amazing! This prosciutto is seasoned and dry aged for 24 months, and is the star of this dish. On its own it would be overpowering. However, combining the pasta, sauce, and meat was an amazing, flavorful morsel that I will remember for years, as the prosciutto needed the backdrop of the Radiatori pasta and cream sauce to really shine! This was perhaps our favorite savory dish of the night. The third course consisted of Swordfish Spiedini and the Chicken thigh with roasted garlic tahini pepperonata. Both were beautifully presented, and I started with the swordfish which was cooked perfectly and so delicious. I was so stuffed at this point that I only took a bite of the chicken, which was flavorful and tasty as the tahini hit my tastebuds to make sure I knew it was there. I smartly packed up the rest to enjoy it the next day. Accompanying our meal we enjoyed delicious wine. The Toalini Al Passo, a Sangiovese blend, started off slow but really opened up as the night went along. The Lepage Pinot Gris was complex and interesting, a very enjoyable wine that paired really well with most of our dishes in the tasting menu. Finally it was time for the pastry chef to shine, the other half of the incredible husband and wife duo preparing our delicious food, and we were not disappointed. The tiramisu was layered and delicious, well balanced, and very enjoyable. The Milk + Honey Panna Cotta, however, was incredible! So many flavors bursting through, every spoonful was a delight! Just one of many things we enjoyed that would bring us back to this Buffalo hot spot! At the suggestion of our server, Marsie, who was an an excellent guide for us all evening, we chose a digestif to finish the evening, the Amaro Bordigo Dilei. We wanted something new, but wanted to avoid the anise flavor usually prominent in Amaro. It was a great choice, dry, with notes of honey, citrus, bitter orange, and tea, with a long light bitter finish. A perfect exclamation point to our great evening. We went to Mira to see what it was all about. Being the new restaurant in Buffalo, it was difficult to reserve however, we were able to make one for a few weeks out. Five of us were seated in a booth, which was quite tight. The person in the middle was sitting on an uncomfortable bar so we had to shift a bit. My only real critique is that the tables are all on the smaller side. Ambience is nice. Lighting is dark and vibey. We thought we ordered a lot of food, but portions were quite small so we left feeling satisfied and not stuffed. The hummus was the star of the show for us, we had ordered another after we finished the first. Service was good. We had new plates and utensils brought to us after every course. It was a bit pricey for the size of the dish and we didn't love the seating. I'm not sure we'd be back for dinner, however would likely try brunch. read more

Our friends made reservations 2.5 months before our visit, it is that hard to get in. Lots of appetizers-Sweet Potato and the Suppli were amazing. The hummus was very good, the fried cheese OK. My dinner was the Pennsylvania Golden Half Chicken - very moist and the mushrooms and sunchokes puree finished it well. There was a Spaghetti and also the Huckleberry Glazed Pork Porterhouse for entrees the others thought were great. My wife had the black cod which she thought was OK. Since their opening this past November, I've dined there 6 or 7 times. I don't know how they do it but there's never been a miss. My month was made last night when I realized the tuna conserva was back on the menu; I literally dream of this dish!! Gnocchi were perfect little pillows of ricotta with a light sauce of fresh tomatoes and Calabrian chilli. Hanger steak may have been the tastiest piece of meat I've ever had. In the past I've done the tasting menu so I feel as though I've tried almost anything on the menu and this place is legendary. All desserts, pastas and breads are made in house and there is nothing like it. Stop in for brunch when they put out a pastry counter and you can try a few things. The breakfast sandwich is perfection, especially with the house made sausage. The staff knowledgeable, and amazing at their job. As far as ambiance, there's not a more beautiful restaurant around. These folks have hit it out of the park. No wonder reservations are so hard to come by. It's completely worth the wait. If I was rating strictly on ambiance it would be 5 stars. They did a great job refreshing the decor and making it feel like an upscale nyc lounge/restaurant. The food was basic and over priced as were the drinks. The tipping point for me was I had a reservation right when they opened at 5 and they sat all 4 reservations in the same section and our elbows and knees were touching. We were literally screaming over each other the whole time. When we left there were empty tables all over the restaurant. We heard about Mira over the summer and anxiously awaited its opening and were not disappointed! We were lucky to snag a reservation. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the bar super cool. The suppli and grilled octopus appetizers and were to die for. Both were fresh and delicious. Cutting into the suppli and out oozed creamy mozzarella cheese. The shrimp and pasta entree was tasty and filling and the salmon was grilled to perfection. Save room for the scary-good desserts like the coconut gelato. Can't wait to try the brunch. We ordered the sea breem and it was FULL of bones. I told the staff and they did absolutely nothing about it. They apologized right before they got their tip. The service was poor and the staff talk under their breath about customers at the bar even though we can hear them. I am sad to say I won't be back. For $44, my entree should be prepared PROPERLY and they had absolutely nothing else to offer on the plate. So disappointing. Also, the portions for the price are RIDICULOUS. So small. Don't waste your money. Go to Beacon Grille or Prescott's Provisions for a far better meal at a similar price point. read more

To start nice eclectic atomsphere very knowledgeable staff. Presentation leaves much to be desired . I ordered th shrimp pasta as they were noted for fresh pasta. It was served in a cereal bowl no plate lukewarm and very small pieces of shrimp . it looked like a bowl of cold oatmeal and it was 24$. Also ordered the special sweetpotatos YOGURT sauce yuck.
