This is the first time and sadly the last time as a patron of this bar. I have been looking forward to coming to here for a long time. When I arrived with friends we were served food outside and we advised management we would like a table inside. While enjoying food management (Danny) advised we had sat too long at the table and it was ok to move inside. When asked if we were secured a table he gave multiple excuses, one of which is tables were for bottle service. So we decided to get bottle service, and after debate we still was not granted at table. TABLES ARE AVAILABLE! However, the bartending team proceeded to place the "bottle service" at the bar. Yes we stood at the bar with a bottle service, while there are open tables. Very rude and ghetto. Great job Savoy. Edit- yes this review was written at bar, the owner's unprofessional response to this is why the rating is given. Also, the owner is under the assumption of who I am as the writer and is very incorrect. My assumption is once he noticed this review is when he walked up to our party (to the one who purchased the bottle service) took the bottle out of her hand, and told our party to leave (and given the time stamp I am guessing because this review). I asked him for a receipt to validate that her card was not charged the $200. He returned with a $10 receipt. While trying to explain to him that the receipt does not suffice, in case she was truly charged he became angry yelled in our faces to leave the bar. Things escalated and continued to go left from there. While waitlisted at Allentown Burger Venture, we swung around the corner to find the small Savoy to grab a drink. It's tiny inside, I wouldn't recommend going with a large group, but for our purposes it was perfect. The cocktails were excellent and the bartender took his time preparing them so that they were just right. Prices were reasonable for what you would expect for cocktails as well. The interior was well designed and it had a warm atmosphere. Despite the small space, they've utilized it well and there is plenty of seating. read more

Love this little spot, in the heart of the city! On Sundays, it's JUMPIN'! Good vibes are high and your surrounded by a good time. Granted, if you're claustrophobic, this is not the spot for you. I went during the week for happy hour and food with friends, and I ordered this spicy jalapeño topped veggie pizza. It was VERY tasty! I wanted to do something different for my bridal shower, so my mom and I planned an event with Danny at Savoy - AND IT WAS THE BEST SHOWER EVER! Danny was so kind and amazing to work with. He was completely open to whatever our vision was for the event and over delivered on every element. I loved that it was a 100% customized event. The space looked incredible ( and photographed amazing ) Danny and his team were nice enough to blow up balloons everywhere for us :) For appetizers, we had shrimp cocktail, a beautiful cheese platter, flatbreads, and tomator/mozz/basil skewers. For lunch I wanted a build your own salad with choices of salmon or chicken plus meatball sliders. I had never eaten at Savoy before this, and the food was amazing! We played photo slideshows on the tv screens and connected to the speaker system with my "Girl Anthem" playlist. lol. The bartenders were so friendly and made our guests craft cocktails the entire time. We had 40 people at the shower and it filled the space very nicely. I still get compliments about what a fun and memorable event it was! I couldn't have asked for more from Danny and his team. He has a true passion for hospitality and events. I wish I took more photos of the food, but here are some of the pics I have from the event. I am just looking for another excuse to host a party at Savoy, and couldn't recommend more! Awesome atmosphere! Not the place for everyone, but definitely a great little gem in Buffalo. Visiting friends in the city and we wanted a good cocktail, but had no idea where to look. Recommendations on Yelp steered us here and they were not wrong. The bartender that served us was friendly, helpful with my wife's questions and made excellent drinks. (I'm terrible with names, sorry) The music did get a little loud when the DJ set up, but we enjoy that on a weekend night, and he was playing good tunes to groove with. Yes! Yes! Yes! Lovely little watering hole. $5 manhattans, Moscow mules, wine and flatbreads from 5-8. Free brunch on Sunday! Drinks made with fancy ice, fresh juice and herbs. The Moscow mule wasn't too strong and was very refreshing. Loved how the bruschetta had a slightly sweet drizzle of balsamic. Onions weren't too strong and the tomatoes were fresh. Grilled cheese and avocado was grilled perfectly with a tasty side of marinara sauce. Loved the cheesy flatbread. More like a cheese bread. Not very crispy. Please go. I don't want to see it close. We came here around 7pm last night (Friday) to start off my bday weekend. It was completely empty upon arrival which was great! The decor and music were enjoyable, and Mike the bartender was friendly and accommodating. They have happy hour specials Tuesday-Saturday until 8pm! $5 buffalo mules (made with lockhouse vodka, ginger beer, fresh lime juice and bitters - with fresh basil), manhattans, house wines and flat breads! We ordered some bruschetta because it had capers - the flavor was there, but I had to take off a half a star cause the bruschetta mix was super cold and the tomatoes tasted like it might be canned - I much prefer a room temperature or just slightly chilled mix with fresh tomatoes. Another thing was that the bread was cold and stale - and I think they should be warm and toasted. We devoured them anyway since we were starving - but not something I would order again. Next we had the prosciutto arugula flatbread with Gorgonzola. To be honest we could barely taste the Gorgonzola - but it didn't matter, cause the flatbread was so awesome that we loved it anyway and ordered a second one as we were only halfway through the first one! Another drink we really loved was the blood & sand - it's scotch, cherry liqueur, sweet vermouth, orange juice - decorated with a burnt orange peel which added just the right aroma and flavor to the drink! I was worried that it would be too sweet but it was just perfect! Loved it! I switched between the buffalo mule and the blood & sand drinks all night. The other half star I took off was for the second half of the night. Perhaps it's not fair since it's nothing that the staff did but I can't give half star ratings so I just made it a 4 star experience overall. Anyway, this woman came in with some guys around 8pm and stood next to us for about a half hour as we ate our flatbreads and enjoyed our drinks. As soon as my fiancé got up to use the bathroom, she came and picked up his stool and walked away! As soon as I realized what she did I said "oh I'm sorry but he's coming right back". She turned around, looked at me with this ridiculous look on her face, came back and put the stool back down and said "I'm sorry TOO", in this ridiculously b*tchy tone. I was heated! When my fiancé came back I told him what happened, and being the gentleman that he is he said "well if she would have just asked me for it I would given it to her!" Well, needless to say, it put a damper on the rest of the night as that woman continued being loud and rowdy with her "posse" right next to us. It also started getting extremely loud in there as a bunch of 20 something's came in and were just obnoxiously loud. I suppose that's to be expected cause that's what I did in my early-mid 20s, but I guess I just didn't expect it at a supposed "classy" wine bar. I'm only 32! But I could not hear anything that my friends (who stopped by later for a drink) and fiancé were saying when they were right next to me! Despite the unpleasant woman and the noise, we will definitely be back! I wanna try the grilled cheese with avocado and also the giant meatball dish that I saw so many others ordering. Cute and cozy! I met some friends here for the first time this weekend and we enjoyed the atmosphere. I really love the decor. I did not try any drinks but I did order the stuffed mushroom dip... AMAZING. It was really delicious, however I would not recommended it if you're on a date! The panko (I think) breadcrumbs on top made it a pretty messy dish. Don't let that deter you... the dip is really good. My friends each tried pizza on thr menu and raved about how good it was. I'd definitely come here again. read more

Stopped here for memorial day weekend and the bar created an outdoor beach area in the parking lot outside the bar. Such a pleasant surprise. There was a small sand area and a tent set up with a small outdoor bar. I enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying some drinks. There was also games to have fun with. Connect 4 and Jenga. Additionally, a pool was set up and had a DJ outside. I was only there during the day but I imagine the night scene was great! Savoy tries to be a classy, trendy bar serving "prohibition era" cocktails and small plates. While trying for flair, it overlooks the fundamentals. Service was ridiculously slow and fairly inattentive. Cocktails were fine, but we didn't order anything off the specials menu, as it wasn't anything we hadn't seen before. Meat and cheese plate was good, not great. Biggest problems were the outrageously loud "live" music (singer and sax player accompanied by canned backing tracks), poor service, and underwhelming menu options. I hope over the next few months, they will get it together and make sure the few (7 or 8) tables are serves promptly. read more

Well, I came to Savoy at around 8 PM and I was sipping on the savory new marg they were selling and it didn't taste pomegranate flavored it tasted like more of a fart flavor. Then that's when Samantha and I knew that someone let one rip. And of course we were in the far back right corner which of course is like 7 feet from the entrance. I've been here a couple times and was never terribly impressed, but I didn't think it warranted a negative review. Now I'm sufficiently disappointed and, in fact, insulted by the sub-par bar. Savoy classifies itself as a classy bar, which it more or less is. Their TV is black and white (AWESOME! I love it) and they often have really great live jazz. But for the love of Pete, why are they serving COLD red wine???? I'm talking Malbec and Pinot Noir. The temperature was that of a white wine. I paid $9/glass for COLD red wine?!?!? Savoy is a good place to go for cocktail and a delicious dinner before a night out on the town. I wasn't super impressed with the beer or wine list, but the mixed drinks looked great. And the food was excellent. We split the antipasti dish -- an excellent selection of meats and very tasty cheeses. After that, I had the tuna Niçoise salad and my husband had one of the baguette sandwiches. Both were out of this world delicious! The best thing about the Savoy though was the people watching. The place has great decor and a lively, fashion forward bar scene. The worst thing was the service, which wasn't terrible but could have been better. The waitress we had was really sweet but couldn't answer questions about the food or drink menus. I don't blame her. I feel compelled to write a review on this wonderful establishment. Savoy is a unique gem in the Elmwood village unlike any other restaurants nearby. I have eaten here several times and have never been dissatisfied. The owner has done wonders with the building. The beautiful interior design, sharply dressed staff, and jazz-style music all combine to create a delightful ambiance that is reminiscent of the "Roaring Twenties." The staff is extremely friendly and good looking. The food and cocktail menu choices are creative, reasonably priced and delicious. In addition, they recently opened their patio where I enjoyed dinner with girlfriends on a lovely summer night. Yikes! What happened to this place?! I was thrilled when Savoy first opened. A classy, upscale bar with a warm, inviting vibe and wonderful prohibition-era drinks. Quiet ambience, classic black and white movies on the TV's.. I felt like I stepped back in time. We decided to go back for a cocktail last night, and said classic bar took a complete 180 from the last visit. The place smelled like a bottle redemption center, with excessively loud music, sports games on the TV's, and terrible watery drinks. Great addition to the neighborhood! Savoy (and it's new owners) are helping to revive Allentown. First off, the new owners, siblings Nina and Danny, are third generation restaurant owners. Their grandparents started Mama Rose's in Amherst and, I believe, Sonny's Pizza in Lockport. Their parents helped with those restaurants and also started Nina's Custard. Most of this Yelp page represents the former owners, so don't judge them by the old reviews and come see for yourself. The atmosphere is classy yet relaxed. It has a small intimate interior with beautiful black leather bench seating and small tables. While it's the space offers a nice lounge feel, the bar also has excellent food. Their mom helps in the kitchen and their Italian red sauce is awesome! Last time I was there, we had meatballs and onion rings. Both were great! I def want to come back for dinner soon! The drink menu features interesting handcrafted cocktails, many using infused syrups and herbs. Nina makes the best dirty martinis! They also have a pretty epic selection of bottled beer! Danny, Nina, and Matt have a great establishment! They had turned around a bar that didn't have much life in it into one if the most exciting places in the Allen/Downtown area! Yes, they sometimes get a bit crowded, but that is only because literally everyone wants in! They make great cocktails and are extremely well versed in every technique in cocktail making. They truly have an art form to it. They also have great small plates to eat if you need something while you're having a drink. They host amazing events, from rehearsal outings to birthdays, they go above and beyond to make it an exciting time. DJ's are always spinning upbeat music! They are all pet friendly which is great! Several of my friends told me to come here, because they loved the place. I was interested in going for quite some time, but never stop because parking in the lower part of Elmwood/Allen area is a pain. But after i went over the menu online, I decided to come and deal with the parking. Walking into the place I didn't realize how small it was, that's fine for me. But this night there was a DJ, and the music was so loud that it was deafening. But it didn't seem to bother the other people like it did for my wife and myself. I guess because we are older (40's) and a quick scan of the place, told us we were amongst mid 20s college students. The bar was crowded and the bartender had his hands full, not because of the large crowd at the bar. But because he was busy having shots with the group. It was pretty obvious these were his friends, and he was having a good time. I wanted to have a good time as well, that's why I brought my wife. But waiting for this bartender to notice me was getting irritating and after 15mins, his partner finally notices me and places my order. By now I am hoping the drinks and food was worth this trip. I enjoyed the Bees knees drink I had and the wife enjoyed her Bourbon drink. We decided to leave not ordering any food for two reasons. The food we seen being ordered, look like frozen dinners you can get at any grocery store. 2nd. remember that DJ, well on top of him blaring his music and the loud drunk kids at the bar. This review is for drinks only! We had a BOGO card from the Buffalo Cocktail cards, and I have been wanting to try some of their cocktails for a while. To be completely honest, I am a big sucker for fancy overpriced cocktails... especially when they are made well. We arrived around 6pm, and found 2 seats at the bar. The bf ordered a gin and rosemary cocktail. I was looking to try one that I have heard rumors about -- tequila with jalapeno and pepper syrup. I asked the bartender (who I know somewhat personally) if he could make it because I didn't see it on the menu, but he informed me that they did not currently have all of the ingredients. Instead he made me a drink with cucumber vodka, sriracha, and some other deliciousness. I believe it may have had gin, which I don't really care for, but I couldn't taste the juniper taste so it was all good. We both enjoyed our cocktails before we headed to our dinner, so it was definitely a great place to start the night. And with the BOGO card, it was a bargain! My husband and I were excited to try out the Savoy after it opened around the corner from our apartment. We have been looking for a nice place nearby where we could enjoy an after work drink and appetizer. The food was wonderful and the waitress could not have been nicer. Unfortunately the drinks were way overpriced for this neighborhood and the restaurant had the gall to charge us $2 for ice in our drinks! We got four drinks total so imagine our shock at being asked to pay an additional $8 for the privilege of enjoying our drinks on the rocks. Add to that the unbelievably loud crowd at the bar and we will not be going back. Thanks for the reply Shannon, but even with that explanation, $16 for a scotch on the rocks is still way over-priced. The exact same drink with a more generous pour just down the road is $9.50. Oh and incidentally--it said on the bill under each drink order "ice $2". I didn't want to come here. I've walked past this place a million and a half times. Every time, I thought, "Hm, looks like people are having fun in there, but I don't want to join them." Maybe the tiny storefront turned me off, maybe it's because I typically assume that cocktail bars called "Savoy" will be filled with the wear-a-suit-out-on-Friday-night crowd. Regardless of the reasons for my aversion, I stayed away. I came here for happy hour with some girlfriends a few days before the Super Bowl. As anticipated, the interior is tiny. Tiny tables with tiny chairs and a cute, tiny bar to complement it all. But what I didn't anticipate were the free pizza and wings. No, they don't give away free food all the time. It was a special Super Bowl-inspired event. But any establishment that feeds me for free is A-OK in my book. Happy hour included $5 house wines and Moscow Mules, along with cheap flatbread and a few other things that I can't readily recall. The cocktails were perfect, the wine was generously poured in large glasses. The bartenders were super friendly, as were the other patrons at the bar. After taking a long time to get a menu and our first round of drinks we asked for the check to try another bar around the corner. Our waitress informed us we needed an appetizer on the bill at this time and not when we first sat down. We didn't want to order it but we wanted to leave and didn't want to argue.
