It's my first time visiting lavelle and surely, it won't be my last. This place on the roof deck has the most gorgeous view of the CN tower and Toronto skyline. Pair this with a pool that you dip into, excellent service from the food servers and mouth watering meals and drinks, this is the perfect place to enjoy the summer. Nicely done spot that has the ambiance of a summer patio but can also be covered for rain. The pool was closed not sure why. The square bar in the center was easy and quick to get a drink while we waited for our table. Slightly confusing, we had to speak to four different folks to show our reservation and figure out where it is we are going to sit. We were then tucked away in a corner by the pool. Nice food and great views of the CN Tower. There was miscommunication between the servers so we had to make sure what we ordered is what we received or remind the server again. It's a classic spot where every half hour you'll see people with sparklers, champagne, and the awkward giant neon sign that advertises Lavelle more than anything, going around to satisfy everyone's thirst for social media clout. I forgot my big golf like umbrella on the chairs and upon going back in 3 hours nobody knew where the umbrella is or where to look. We were told to contact guest services without giving us any phone number or email. Browsed their website and I contacted them the next day on Instagram and haven't heard in the last three days. Please remember the following details: Our reservation was for 9 pm with a two-hour seating limit. We arrived at 9:14 pm, just beyond the 15-minute grace period. First, the positives! I attended a summerlicious event with my friends and, for a first-time visitor, the rooftop setting was truly breathtaking. Our server was prompt and knowledgeable. We started with the jerk tacos and an espresso martini. The tacos were fantastic, but I wouldn't recommend the drink. For my main course, I ordered the Jerk chicken with mashed potatoes. I was slightly disappointed that the potatoes were cold... Up until this point, the service was great. However, our wait for dessert seemed endless. After politely inquiring about it for 40 minutes, a manager approached us. They offered free drinks and kindly removed the dessert from the bill, but as we were summerlicious patrons, the dessert couldn't be removed. The final dessert was supposed to be ice cream, but due to a freezer issue, they offered us a chocolate mousse cake instead. Personally, I'm not a fan of mousse, so I didn't enjoy it. I was skeptical about visiting this restaurant from a few reviews I noticed but still decided to give it a try on our visit to Toronto. Their reservation process was seamless and reminders were great. Once we arrived, we were greeted at the die and escorted to an elevator that took is to the rooftop area on the restaurant. We walked in, were greeted and welcomed and escorted to our table. Naz created a memorable experience for us. Our appetizers and entrees were very good, seasoned perfectly and the drinks were amazing. Fatih (manager) made sure my sisters birthday was recognized and I appreciated that. I most defiantly came here just for the views/vibes. The food isn't particularly amazing but it's nice to have a fab girls' brunch or something with the wonderful rooftop patio! We came during the summer/autumn season. We got a reservation (would recommend) but still took a bit of time to get seated. We ordered the salmon misoyaki, wagyu "mac" burger & truffle fries, avocado & quinoa crunch roll, chicken karaage, sangria pitcher, and latte. The salmon was a bit saltier than expected, but the salmon was cooked just right. The burger was juicy, but we couldn't quite taste any truffle in the fries. The crunch roll was a pleasant surprise! Delicious for a vegan menu item and definitely recommended for you to try. The karaage was nice and crispy. It was lightly battered so you aren't just eating deep fried dough, very standard stuff. Sangria pitcher and cocktails are always appreciated. Although, I do feel that the alcohol content of the sangria was particularly low here. I have to say...for a place that is so well known for its aesthetic vibe... The aesthetic is probably all that Lavelle really has to offer. Our main waitress was really sweet, however literally every single thing about our order was wrong and the food also took close to an hour to come out. Imagine waiting an hour for your food, and many peoples orders being wrong... And then having to wait even longer for the correct order to come out. even the drinks that we ordered that came out were wrong, then they fix them and they were still wrong. To top it off when the bill came... there were many discrepancies and we were overcharged for many things + charged for the wrong meals and wrong drinks that had to be returned. Our main waitress was really really sweet and fixed the bill discrepancies when we pointed them out. Note large parties: they will only except 4 cards on a bill and they will not split your bill, so be ready for that. Also, the hostess stand is extremely close to the elevator, which, if there are a lot of people waiting to get in makes it very difficult for traffic to flow. I have only been to lavelle a few times and every time have experience staff that and management that do little for guest experience. I was recently at an event where they had only 1 bartender for 200 people and the line up was 45 mintues long for guests. I was also there where I was injuired when their furniture broke and no one seemed to care when my friend was bleeding. 45 minutes later they asked if was ok only after I looked for a manager. If you are planning a group to go there, I would recommend for your guests enjoyment and safety pick somewhere else. read more

We had lunch at Lavelle on a hot summer day. We were seated next to one of the pools, with a decent view of the CN Tower (there are definitely places with better views though). We ordered the Poke Naruto Roll and the Short Rib Tacos - I thought both tasted really good - maybe just a little pricier than your average restaurant. We also got the "Litty Cotton Candy" for dessert - would definitely recommend this as they torch the cotton candy in front of you, and you get some pretty unique ice cream flavours. For drinks, we tried the Thai Basil Mojito and Vanilla Beaña Colada. Solid mocktail and cocktail options. The two-hour time limit was plenty for us to enjoy our meal and the ambiance. I really enjoyed Lavelle. The service downstairs was super friendly and courteous - checking my reservation time and bringing us in right away. The entry to Lavelle is through an elevator almost underground. And then you arrive at the top rooftop pool floor. The ambience is nice, there are lots of photo opportunities. It was a cloudy day but we were seated indoors which was a good idea as it started to pour shortly after I arrived. An overrated restaurant in the city. You're coming here for the ambience/view. Came to Lavelle to celebrate a friend's birthday recently and was underwhelmed to a degree. If you're someone travelling to Toronto, I would recommend this restaurant for the view and experience alone. But unfortunately, this is a restaurant so I have to talk about the service and food. As for the food, this is where it's hit or miss. I really enjoyed their sides but cannot vouch for how much they costed compared to portion size. The truffle mac & cheese was the biggest offender, it tasted amazing but for the price this was a laughable portion size that had me wide-eyed when it was brought to the table. The dish itself could fit in the palm of my hand it was so small. For mains, I went for a Burger because not much else was interesting me on the menu that my friends weren't ordering already. The burger was decent, can't complain and was accompanied by Lavelle's "famous" truffle fries....they're pretty normal fries to be honest. My friends ordered sushi, and from what I tried I would not recommend ordering it if you're a sushi fan. I've had mall sushi that's better. Lastly, the servers were moving around a lot but seemingly nothing was being carried to tables. We waited really long for our dishes even though it was a weekday and wasn't busy. To wrap it up, Lavelle offers a great experience for someone looking to have a nice ambience with a view of the city that makes you forget how boring and overpriced the food is here. read more

This ambiance in this place was undeniably amazing. Down from the pool, to the bar and the view, there was nothing this place was lacking in terms of decor. I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and we decided to go in when the open. The place was empty when we arrived, which we loved since we could talk to each other without other conversations overpowering ours (note: my friend is half deaf so sometimes it would be hard to have a conversation in loud places). We opted to go order everything off the Happy Hour menu: both food and drinks. The flavour of the food was absolutely decadent, especially the empanadas and tajin fries. The drinks, however, were a bit lacking in alcohol taste. Tasted a bit bland but we weren't complaining much considering the price. I ordered the peach slurpee and it was a sweet, refreshing drink for a hot day. My friend got the dragonfruit frosé which was tart but still really good; those who like sour flavours will enjoy it. We decided to share three apps: the soft rib tacos, wagyu sliders, and truffle fries. The fries are typical of any truffle fries. The soft rib tacos were amazing, with perfectly cooked ribs and all the right toppings to go with it. And finally, the wagyu sliders were filling and also really yummy! I was very happy that this place wasn't an overrated, overpriced restaurant that's only worth its views. The food seems to be high quality, and the service was great too. It was a Friday night (which was understandable for it to be busy) but mask policies were not enforced and walking areas were cramped. Service stayed away all night; the worst combination to be celebrating my friend's 25th birthday. And that's not even the WORST part. My friends ordered two appetizers before their main course, while the rest of our group ordered just a main course. The main course meals came in one by one, but the ones with the appetizers did NOT get their main courses until about 30+ minutes (and actually had to get up and look for the waitress) because she said that she was waiting for them to finish their appetizers before asking the chef to start making their food. Absolutely ridiculous policy that seemed like a blatant excuse because the waitress FAILED to check up on us even once until we had to pay. Not only did that unorthodox policy ruin our night, but my friends were left to take their overpriced food home in take out containers due to the club's strict time policy per reservation. This completely ruined our experience we waited weeks for. Just when you thought the nightmare would end, the waitress left my two friends to clean up after themselves and hand their plates to her, while she stood still watching them with the takeout boxes in her hand. Every single time, I spend approximately 8-10 mins to flag down the bartender and wait +8 mins to get my drinks. If the drinks are good, no problem but it taste no better than Joey's. The place wasn't even busy too! So is restaurant situation any better? Yes and no. I received pleasant service from server. Not so much from kitchen tho. I went there with table of 2 and long long wait time and after several apologies from the server due to delay with kitchen, we received our meal.
