Burger & Fries

Food/Drinks: This was our first time in Toronto, and this restaurant was located directly inside of the hotel that we were staying in. The drinks and the food were very average, not too strong at all when it came to the drinks, and the food wasn't out of this world but good. The presentation for both the food and the drinks was pretty nice. Location: The location was directly within the entrance of the hotel, which made it very convenient for us to grab something to eat, especially the first night since we got here a little late. You can lounge in this location, and some people are dressed up, but some people are casual who are also within this hotel. I'm not sure about parking on the regular since we did parking through the hotel as well. Service: The biggest reason as to why I gave it a three-star is because one of the bartenders was very unfriendly, and to be honest, it could have been because it was nighttime, but it really threw us off because you hear how nice Canadians are, and to be honest, the majority of the places that we went to afterward were exactly what people say and how nice they were except for this location. One of the bartenders was a guy, and he was just very straightforward, did not smile at us, and honestly, when I asked certain questions about the menu, he responded with comments as if I should know what the menu means. I just didn't like his attitude at all, and it really threw me off, but because we had a voucher through the hotel, it's the only reason why we gave it a go for the first night and didn't end up going back the remainder of the time that we were there.

I had a lunch at Teller's Bar and Lounge. When I looked at the Yelp reviews, I didn't realized it was in the lobby of a hotel (One King West Hotel), which to me took away from the atmosphere. I tried a few of the dishes: The Kale Caesar salad was good but had too much shredded parm. My favorite was the Avocado Shrimp Toast. I also tried The Tower Club and is was good - it came with sweet potato fries. It was a very hot afternoon in late July and I appreciated the cold seltzer water. The bar tender was friendly and efficient.

Located in the lobby of the One King building, Teller's acts as both the hotel's bar and restaurant. We were there luckily on a Thursday night and they had a live jazz band performing from 530-830, which was an unexpected delight. We started with drinks and apps by the bar and transitioned to one of their restaurant tables. The calamari and Korean chicken tacos were both really great. The calamari was tender and easy to eat, a far departure from the rubber bands one can get at the wrong place. The tacos were a generous size, with a great crunchy texture. If you come during their happy hour, the food is only 9.99! Very affordable. When our friends arrived we moved over to one of the high top tables thoughtfully reserved away from the band so we could actually chat. I had the truffle pizza and it was great. Only critique was that it took an hour to get our table of 8 all our mains, otherwise it would be 5 stars.

Tower club with sweet fries

We are staying at the hotel and decided to stop by here for a drink and some food. This is in the lobby level of One King West hotel and during Christmas, it is decorated!! We were able to grab a table anywhere. There's a bar with seating and a few high tops close to the bar. We sat at a table and it was very intimate. They have an excellent drinks menu and I got a 1908 sour (which is a gin drink with egg white). It is beautifully presented in a glass with an orchid and so yummy! We also got the tower club since we wanted to try peameal bacon while we are visiting. The sandwich surprised me. The warm grilled sandwich and the nice bacon along with fresh crunchy lettuce and tomato was a fabulous combination. The sweet potato fries were crispy and so sweet, probably one of the best I've had. For dessert, we got the espresso crème brûlée. The espresso was subtle and the crème brûlée was so creamy. The crispy top was a perfect pairing for each bite. The service was attentive. We had a lovely time here. I would definitely stop by for a drink or a snack again.

My family and I came here for dinner after attending a wedding dress rehearsal at One King West. We were seated upstairs in the lounge area which is a little more private. Service was friendly however it took foreverrrr for the food to arrive. We were seated just before 7pm and ordered some appetizers, mains, and desserts and we didn't get out til almost 10pm. The wait time between each meal was so spread apart I was starving and getting low key hangryyy. For drinks, they didn't have a mocktail menu but the server was nice and asked what kind of drink I wanted (sweet/fruity/sour/bittter/etc) and I said fruity while my aunt wanted something sour. I love when they create whatever drink and surprise me. For appetizers we shared: -oxtail ($19) - oh so tender, fall of the bone type of meat, flavourful and spicy...it was a chef's kiss -calamari ($17) - tender and crispy -octopus ($19) - really enjoyed this as well! For mains, I got the steak frites and upgraded my fries to truffle fries ($39). The fries were yummy and steak was cooked to perfection but there were a lot of tendons and it was SO chewy I could barely eat it?? I also tried some of the truffle gnocchi ($25) and it was so yummy. For desserts, I got the corn creme brûlée ($14) which was interesting. I enjoyed it. I also tried a bit of the cheesecake ($12) that my aunt ordered but it was too sweet for me. When dinner was finally over, I went downstairs to the vault to take some photos so that was pretty cool.

Charcuterie board

My mom and I came here for dinner. We had "Falling for Juliet" holiday cocktails which were lovely. Next we had the squash soup to start and it was incredibly flavourful and warm tasting. We then shared the charcuterie board which had a great variety of cheeses and meats with 4 pieces of bread. Everything on the board was delicious. Service was good too. Highly recommend coming here, the hotel was a great stay too.

Often at One King West for work meetings and more times than not, we end up at Tellers. Friendly service. Best old fashioned in Toronto. Their appetizers are OK. Great place to people-watch as the city's up-and-coming influencers come and go. Nice mix of modern and old world charm. Prices aren't cheap but not ridiculous. Great place to meet people of to meet up for an after work cocktail or beer.

$40 charcuterie and two glasses of wine!

Well here I am walking down Yonge St., getting chilly by the falling snow in April and decide enough is enough and jump into 1 King West to warm up! I notice the lobby bar and with my friend we decide to pull up a couple of stools and see if they have a happy hour deal. Sure enough, $40 bucks gets you two glasses of wine and a charcuterie board. With a couple of baco noirs in hand we sample the prosciutto, salami, and cured beef along with two cheeses, and the sweet condiments of honey and jams. The wine was pretty good given that it was their house feature. The cheeses well balanced with a strong blue cheese and a brie variety. The accompanying toast was really good. The venue itself is pretty cool, given that the lobby used to be a bank, hence the name. There is quite a bit of hustle and bustle with the adjacent hotel reception area, but hey it's rush hour in the Tdot. After this quick pit stop, I head back out to the cold! Tellers is an old school style bar, not my usual go to type of venue but nonetheless it wasn't bad!

We ended up sitting at the bar since we were walk-ins. It is also a very low light restaurant, especially at night. so it might not be the best place for older adults or those who are visually impaired. Service was good, however, we were somewhat forgotten at times since we were tucked away in a dark corner. We ended up ordering the Truffle Fries, the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta, the Korean Chicken, and the Vodka Pie. The truffle fries were crisp and plentiful. We added sausage to the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta, and it was delicious paired with the pizza. The Korean Chicken were bite sized and flavourful as well. However, The vodka Pie haunts me in my dreams. I think I crave this pizza about every week. The pizza at King Taps has one of the best crusts I've ever had, and the vodka sauce is to die for. It's sad to know that this pizza will rotate out, I'd definitely try it before it leaves! I will be back for the Vodka Pie, mark my words!

They always put the leafs game on when they're playing which is Mae's them a reliable game spot. Over the past couple of years I felt their food quality has slowly declined but today was different. Way exceeded my expectations. We started with a corona zero and ranch water (passion fruit flavour) we were both really happy with it. The didn't skimp on the tequila. We started with the Brussels sprouts which is always a great choice from here. Crispy on the outside and not an overwhelming Brussels sprout taste. This is likely because there is a generous sprinkling of grated parm and a great amount of dip. We tried the crispy tuna sushi. The tuna was beautifully marinated, so flavourful. And the sushi was nice and crispy. The vodka pie was a seasonal item and when we saw it listed, we knew we needed to try it. The sauce- amazing, the press was nice and flaky and light and really tasty. And the soccer Sada added nice saltines and flavour without being too overwhelming. For happy hour, the apps and pizzas were $5 off, and the ranch water was $5. I'd come back for the pizza alone! Jeans was our waitress and she was great!

Perched high above the bustle of downtown Toronto, LOUIX LOUIS makes a compelling first impression…read more The dining room is genuinely handsome -- a study in polished Art Deco glamour softened by sweeping city views that lend every table a sense of occasion. On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.

We came strictly for cake as we had eaten right before, but we took a peek at the winterlicious menu, and the prices looked super affordable! We ordered the cake and yes, it maybe just be a tall slice of cake, but it was moist and decadent and probably my favourite cake. Overall, if you are a chocolate cake fanatic, this is the place to go!

I found myself wanting to try most of the cocktails, which is a rarity. We got the Strawberry Tetsu to start (inspired by Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecake), along with the Cloudy Oolong (tea-based cocktail with a salted caramel cheese foam). The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim. The Cloudy Oolong had a strong tea taste which I loved, as sometimes the tea can get lost in a cocktail. The foam on top was addicting and paired nicely with it, similar to a bubble tea. Next, I had the Burnt Yuzu which was light and refreshing from the citrus. The bar is hidden behind Misfit Ice Cream, with a speakeasy vibe to the interior. Large windows line one wall with a view to the exterior, but are tinted enough that people walking by cannot see in. Service was great, although they do have a strict 1 hr 45 min time limit for seating, regardless of whether the bar is packed or not.

We walked up to an unassuming entrance that is part of the experience, and once inside, the atmosphere shifts completely. The space is intimate and cozy with dim lighting, comfortable seating, and a relaxed speakeasy vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a couple of drinks. The transition from the street to the interior feels deliberate, and the low-key energy of the room encourages lingering. The cocktail menu leans heavily into Asian-inspired flavors, and that is what makes it stand out. Every drink feels thoughtfully developed rather than relying on presentation alone. We tried the Cloudy Oolong, which was especially memorable with its rich tea flavor and creamy cheese foam that added a savory depth to the cocktail. The Strawberry Tetsu offered a dessert-like profile without becoming overly sweet, balancing fruit and tea notes in a way that felt refined and well composed. Each cocktail arrived beautifully presented and balanced, making it easy to appreciate the amount of care that goes into every glass. The menu is creative without being gimmicky, and the flavors are well integrated, with each drink offering something distinct. The staff were welcoming and happy to explain the menu or offer recommendations if you are unsure what to order. They guided us through the flavor profiles and offered thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences. Service felt attentive without being overbearing, and the overall pace made it a great place to relax rather than rush through a drink. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the experience feeling personal and unhurried. If you are looking for a cocktail bar that offers something different from the usual classics, After Seven delivers a memorable experience.
