    Tower Club

I had a lunch at Teller's Bar and Lounge. When I looked at the Yelp reviews, I didn't realized it was in the lobby of a hotel (One King West Hotel), which to me took away from the atmosphere. I tried a few of the dishes: The Kale Caesar salad was good but had too much shredded parm. My favorite was the Avocado Shrimp Toast. I also tried The Tower Club and is was good - it came with sweet potato fries. It was a very hot afternoon in late July and I appreciated the cold seltzer water. The bar tender was friendly and efficient.

Located in the lobby of the One King building, Teller's acts as both the hotel's bar and restaurant. We were there luckily on a Thursday night and they had a live jazz band performing from 530-830, which was an unexpected delight. We started with drinks and apps by the bar and transitioned to one of their restaurant tables. The calamari and Korean chicken tacos were both really great. The calamari was tender and easy to eat, a far departure from the rubber bands one can get at the wrong place. The tacos were a generous size, with a great crunchy texture. If you come during their happy hour, the food is only 9.99! Very affordable. When our friends arrived we moved over to one of the high top tables thoughtfully reserved away from the band so we could actually chat. I had the truffle pizza and it was great. Only critique was that it took an hour to get our table of 8 all our mains, otherwise it would be 5 stars.

    Tower club with sweet fries

We are staying at the hotel and decided to stop by here for a drink and some food. This is in the lobby level of One King West hotel and during Christmas, it is decorated!! We were able to grab a table anywhere. There's a bar with seating and a few high tops close to the bar. We sat at a table and it was very intimate. They have an excellent drinks menu and I got a 1908 sour (which is a gin drink with egg white). It is beautifully presented in a glass with an orchid and so yummy! We also got the tower club since we wanted to try peameal bacon while we are visiting. The sandwich surprised me. The warm grilled sandwich and the nice bacon along with fresh crunchy lettuce and tomato was a fabulous combination. The sweet potato fries were crispy and so sweet, probably one of the best I've had. For dessert, we got the espresso crème brûlée. The espresso was subtle and the crème brûlée was so creamy. The crispy top was a perfect pairing for each bite. The service was attentive. We had a lovely time here. I would definitely stop by for a drink or a snack again.

My family and I came here for dinner after attending a wedding dress rehearsal at One King West. We were seated upstairs in the lounge area which is a little more private. Service was friendly however it took foreverrrr for the food to arrive. We were seated just before 7pm and ordered some appetizers, mains, and desserts and we didn't get out til almost 10pm. The wait time between each meal was so spread apart I was starving and getting low key hangryyy. For drinks, they didn't have a mocktail menu but the server was nice and asked what kind of drink I wanted (sweet/fruity/sour/bittter/etc) and I said fruity while my aunt wanted something sour. I love when they create whatever drink and surprise me. For appetizers we shared: -oxtail ($19) - oh so tender, fall of the bone type of meat, flavourful and spicy...it was a chef's kiss -calamari ($17) - tender and crispy -octopus ($19) - really enjoyed this as well! For mains, I got the steak frites and upgraded my fries to truffle fries ($39). The fries were yummy and steak was cooked to perfection but there were a lot of tendons and it was SO chewy I could barely eat it?? I also tried some of the truffle gnocchi ($25) and it was so yummy. For desserts, I got the corn creme brûlée ($14) which was interesting. I enjoyed it. I also tried a bit of the cheesecake ($12) that my aunt ordered but it was too sweet for me. When dinner was finally over, I went downstairs to the vault to take some photos so that was pretty cool.

    Charcuterie board

My mom and I came here for dinner. We had "Falling for Juliet" holiday cocktails which were lovely. Next we had the squash soup to start and it was incredibly flavourful and warm tasting. We then shared the charcuterie board which had a great variety of cheeses and meats with 4 pieces of bread. Everything on the board was delicious. Service was good too. Highly recommend coming here, the hotel was a great stay too.

Often at One King West for work meetings and more times than not, we end up at Tellers. Friendly service. Best old fashioned in Toronto. Their appetizers are OK. Great place to people-watch as the city's up-and-coming influencers come and go. Nice mix of modern and old world charm. Prices aren't cheap but not ridiculous. Great place to meet people of to meet up for an after work cocktail or beer.

$40 charcuterie and two glasses of wine!

Well here I am walking down Yonge St., getting chilly by the falling snow in April and decide enough is enough and jump into 1 King West to warm up! I notice the lobby bar and with my friend we decide to pull up a couple of stools and see if they have a happy hour deal. Sure enough, $40 bucks gets you two glasses of wine and a charcuterie board. With a couple of baco noirs in hand we sample the prosciutto, salami, and cured beef along with two cheeses, and the sweet condiments of honey and jams. The wine was pretty good given that it was their house feature. The cheeses well balanced with a strong blue cheese and a brie variety. The accompanying toast was really good. The venue itself is pretty cool, given that the lobby used to be a bank, hence the name. There is quite a bit of hustle and bustle with the adjacent hotel reception area, but hey it's rush hour in the Tdot. After this quick pit stop, I head back out to the cold! Tellers is an old school style bar, not my usual go to type of venue but nonetheless it wasn't bad!

We started with the Brussels sprouts which is always a great choice from here. Crispy on the outside and not an overwhelming Brussels sprout taste. This is likely because there is a generous sprinkling of grated parm and a great amount of dip. We tried the crispy tuna sushi. The tuna was beautifully marinated, so flavourful. And the sushi was nice and crispy. The vodka pie was a seasonal item and when we saw it listed, we knew we needed to try it. The sauce- amazing, the press was nice and flaky and light and really tasty. And the soccer Sada added nice saltines and flavour without being too overwhelming. For happy hour, the apps and pizzas were $5 off, and the ranch water was $5. I'd come back for the pizza alone! Jeans was our waitress and she was great!

Some people may disagree because it's a chain restaurant but when they hit on all cylinders, which they have every time we've been there, it's awesome. Cactus Club - highly highly recommended. On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve.
