Unassuming from the outside but the inside is quite homey and chill. We came a few times for their buck a shuck on mondays/tuesdays (with purchase of a drink). They have a pretty decent menu of rotating taps and shareables. The service was quick and staff very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Bone Marrow Poutine, Cauliflower Bites (tossed in honey gochujang sauce), Chicken Liver Parfait (with beer jelly), and Wonton Nachos (topped with bulgogi beef, cucumber kimchi, sriracha mayo, bulldog sauce, and scallions + sesame seeds). The Asian twist gave these dishes a lot more flavour, with extra points for the uniqueness of the dishes. BarHop is a great place for bites and drinks! We tried their general tao califlower bites, bone marrow poutine, and braised beef pot pie. I enjoyed the califlower bites a lot more than I expected - the sauce paired well and it was cooked perfectly, so they weren't too hard but also weren't mushy. I do like myself the occasional bone marrow but found it a bit too heavy on top of the poutine! As seperate items they were amazing, but only go for this if you're looking for a very hearty meal! The pot pie was also good and I appreciated the salad to balance all the other dishes. I wanted a sweet and light drink but was unsure with what to go with. He first recommended the Strawberry Milkshake IPA, which was sweet, a hint of strawberry but a bit of a dry aftertaste to it. I wasn't too into it. So he kindly then recommended the Side Launch wheat ale, Hefewizen style. Alcohol 5.4% at $7.25. Decided on this one cause it was light, smooth and somewhat sweet. Liked it much better than Strawberry and I really appreciated the time the bartender took until I was happy with my order. Beers: Here are the my two favorite beers I've never had before until Bar Hop: Halo Tangerine Shapeshifter = sour IPA w/ tangerine @ 6.5% ABV. West Ave. Heritage Dry = New World Heritage Cider @ 6.5% ABV. I'm not really a cider drinker but this cider wasn't too sweet the 6.5% ABV was a bonus. If I see these two back home in Vegas, I'll definitely order again. This is a very cool beer house vibe with lots of dark wood EVERYWHERE. The bar was well stocked with premium liquor and bottled beers. The rotating craft beer taps was the main reason we stopped by and the Bar Hop did not disappoint. The downfall is the gnocchi poutine, which was just bland and weird to be honest. I think the server was surprised when I ordered it and now I know why.. It looks like every other brew pub that has popped up within the last five or so years. It's also not in the most obvious location nor were the doors clearly marked so it was like walking into the unknown. The beers were mostly overhopped, which is a trend I'm truly sick of. If I want to drink Pine Sol or eat pine needles, I will. The bartenders seemed bored and didn't really give us good answers when we asked about the beers. If I drank beer, I would definitely drink it here because they serve it in these fancy glasses and watching the bar tender pour beer is mesmerizing, which is a very good distraction when waiting for a table. Came here for the Mussel Monday special and was VERY satisfied. The wait was about half an hour and I did not mind at all because the aroma of the place just built up my appetite. Got the mussels with lager jerk, which came with a side of fries and half a loaf of crispy warm bread. My friend doubted I could finish it all, but damn I proved her wrong, and it was worth every bite. The mussels were soft and chewy and the sauce gave a bit of a kick, not too spicy with the bread and perfectly fried fries to cool down your palette. She got the portebello cream soup which was amazing and the veggie pie, which I forgot to try because I was too busy stuffing my mouth with my own food. The restaurant died down around 8pm, but beware this was also around the time they ran out of mussels. Definitely going to make this place a regular, especially with patio season around the corner. I came here for the oyster deal on Tuesdays in addition to impressive beer selection. Oysters were a disaster and we ended up sending most of em back. Thankfully they charged us half for the oysters. The beer selection is quite impressive with a lot of options on draft and is comparable to a nicer joints with beer focus (some stuff from Unibrue, Delirium Tremens etc. etc.) I had the Le Trappe on draft (a hard to find brew as one can locate bottles at LCBO once in a while) The interior is cozy but is functional. Came here for a friend's birthday on Saturday night. It was packed at ten o'clock so some of us had to wait until we could join the rest of the party. As others have mentioned, the drink menu is extensive. Their specialty is beer, but Barhop also has a healthy number of wine and whisky options. I really liked the vibe here; it's casual and you don't have to dress up to enjoy yourself here. The only downside (which fortunately lasted for five minutes max) was the encounter at the door. It was packed (I get it), but there was no communication with the doorman and the hostess. The hostess was extremely rude; if you find hospitality stressful, perhaps another industry would be better. From my most recent visit - which was a Wednesday, we had gotten a table right away. I went to this bar with my co-worker and he had ordered a coffee infused with coconut beer - which was interesting in taste, because I could taste the coffee but not the coconut. I had ordered a lighter beer with a very sweet after taste. Food wise, he had fish and chips (halibut - 2 pieces) and I had the thai basil mussels. The batter on the halibut was very crispy and delicious. They had deep fried string beans, coleslaw and fries. The dish was definitely enough to feed two people. The thai basil mussels came in a huge plate with a lot of broth and a loaf of bread that was sliced up. At first, I was surprised they gave me a huge loaf of bread but it was awesome because I got to soak it up with the broth of the mussels. The broth was bursting with a lot of thai flavors.
