The live music definitely adds something special; and the decor is very cool. We had a 6pm reservation, and the place was pretty empty, but did start to fill up around 7pm. We ordered two of their cocktails - and we found both great; good combination of flavours and excellent presentation. They had some constraints in the kitchen, so the food orders were taken late and some items were not available. I can say that the braai platters had an authentic taste; but with items missing, opportunity was lost for the truly authentic platter. Given the constraints, the service was excellent - friendly, and we were kept well up to date. Would love to come again. read more

I had Mrs. Robinson on my bookmark list for a long time and was excited to try it as part of my birthday celebration. Unfortunately, while the vibe was nice with cool live music... the drinks and staff need improvement. Our server seemed a bit off/rude and kept getting our bills wrong. The drinks we ordered (some suggested by server) were not very good. They need to find a better mixologist. We tried a few cocktails and I even ordered an expresso martini thinking that might be fairly standard? Everyone in my group tried drinks from each other and all agreed our drinks were bad. My expresso martini was so bad I couldn't even finish and just returned it. We only ordered fries, since we had dinner earlier so can't comment on food. Ended up leaving for another bar even though we could have ordered a few more cocktails. If you really want to try this place, I would suggest it for just beers. Good with friends for something casual but because of service I wouldn't bring a date, coworker or celebrate any special occasions. Really too bad, could have been a hot spot if they fix these things. read more

Great ambiance! Very nice live music and overall atmosphere is perfect for a date or friends meet up. Service is good. Food is average (burgers, sausages, bbq) and inexpensive. One of the few places in the city to try South African street food. read more

As for Cocktail, there are a few tequila grooves, Amaro Montenegro, and ginger beer topping. The drink is sweet and refreshing Since the main course is not too attractive, the editor sipped the left-hand barbecue platter that day, and the meat was too dry. So I don't recommend eating it for dinner. Occasionally there will be a live brand show, so as a whole, I have a feeling that it is a bar rather than a restaurant. read more

One of my all time favourites - this place has amazing burgers & the grilled wings are bomb too. I'm also a big advocate of their onion rings, they're super big, perfectly crispy, never soggy. If you go during happy hour there's a dealers choice cocktail special where they make something for you based off your flavour preferences, which I also love. There's also live music on weekend nights & its always incredible. It's just the best environment to be in - 10/10 date spot but also a great place to go with friends to eat, drink & have a good time. read more

We loved coming here for dancing, drinks, and music. What a way to end our weekend in Toronto. They played mostly older 2000s hip hop, some pop, and some r&b. Very diverse crowd. No cover charge when we went on a Saturday night, but we did stand in line for about 20 minutes. Hadn't done that since undergrad. Great cocktail bar and music venue - my new favorite place to enjoy in Toronto. The drinks were really well crafted and unpretentious, the bartender was great - took his time and really cared about his craft and our enjoyment. Dropped in to this little join on a Saturday night, there was a birthday party happening so most of the space was filled, but our waitress found us a little place in the back so sit. Right off the bat, this place has the coolest decor ever. It feels like you're stepping right into the new York apartment of a record producer and occasional cocaine dealer in the 70s. The wallpaper is ~groovy~, there's records on the walls and the music is EXCELLENT, if not the most conductive to conversation because it's also loud af. The cocktails list is super inventive, with some great names. I had the little priest cocktail which was infused with earl grey and had a big stick of rosemary in it which probably added zero taste wise but was fun to drink. My date had the wet from the waist down cocktail which was SUPER strong and tiny, but what you lack in juice they make up for in pure alcohol. I would recommend checking this place out if you're in the area and looking for a cool place to grab some drinks and snacks, while we didn't eat they do serve food and it all smelled INCREDIBLE. read more

When I heard this place had a new Peruvian food menu, I had to check it out. Over the past few years I really got in to Peruvian cuisine because of all of the traveling that has been taking place in my life. I recently visited South America (didn't get around to Peru though - next time) and I have spent 6 months out of this year in Miami. This exposure has really given me a clear sense of what good Peruvian cuisine is all about and the new menu at Mrs. Robinson is no joke. I ordered the following items: CONCHA A LA PARMESANA (U10 Scallop) A little pricy but worth it. I've never had scallop like this. I will order 2 next time. JALEITA (Calamari) Best squid I've had in my life. CAUSA LIMEÑA Wasn't a fan of this one but my friend really enjoyed it. EMPANADAS Amazing. Comes with some really good sauces. We doubled down on this order. CEVICHE NIKKEI (Raw Tuna Dish) The quality of this ceviche is the best I've ever had in my life. Better than Carmen in Medellin, Colombia. Those who understand what that means, understand that this something you don't want to miss out on. BISTEC Y YUCA (Steak) Delicious steak. I ordered it with the white truffles but I feel that it would have been just fine without it. TRIGOTTO DE HONGOS A LA PARRILLA (Risotto) This Risotto is bang for your buck for sure. There was a lot going on but again, another favorite of mine. Hearty. Some good vegetarian options as well but I didn't explore. We were doing everything family style so we ordered a bit of everything. The staff here was great. I do recommend making a reservation and trying out some of the drinks. We went on a Tuesday night and it was busy. Ambiance is great. I was impressed with the interior the moment I walked in. The singer was absolutely lovely! Great acoustic versions of classic songs. He made our night cap. Our drinks were okay - we had the Lost Lover (very different and strong) and Scarlet Gringo (too much egg white foam but nice and very sour). When it gets busy, they get sloppy - they were giving out a lot of free drinks due to mess ups and wait time, including ours. (PS. Always make sure to tip even if you get a free drink!!!) Women's washrooms didn't have any toilet paper. I'd definitely go again to give it another shot! I'm hoping today was an off night. read more

Haven't tried the food but would go back for it, especially when their full food menu is ready. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because we were sitting at the bar and at some point they started to put the bar stools around us away. Staff "thought I had left" at closing (I hadn't set foot outside all night, and was at one end of what is actually a pretty small bar lol) so they closed out my tab for me, and added 5 drinks I didn't order in the meantime. To get around my $100 tap limit, they put through two separate transactions. And then they rounded it out with a third transaction: a very generous 20% gratuity! I was here Saturday night with my husband enjoying drinks. From the moment we walked in to the very end of the night we we're taken care of by the most amazing staff. I couldn't help but notice how efficient they are as a team. Very smiley,attentive and quick on their feet! We ordered Endorsed by the Queen and Black Woman Magic which were recommendations from our server! . The best cocktails around the area right now. The only thing letting this place down is the food. The mac and cheese is far too greasy and the cod sliders are messy and cold. With more thought and effort put into the food this place really could be amazing.
