Berry White. Excellent summer beer drink!
    Erica D.

Although I don't live far from here, this is one of those hidden spots I had never had the pleasure of visiting. Until now! It has a super cute interior with a fun theme. Although the view out of the front window isn't the best, they apparently have a nice rooftop patio, which I am looking forward to checking out once the weather gets warmer. Seems like very tasty pub fare, decent selection of beers on tap, and some fun unique drinks too (I ordered the Berry White - half Fruli, half Side Launch Wheat - and I'm OBSESSED. This might quickly become my drink of the summer.) Definitely a solid spot to drop in for a pint if you're in the area!

Breakfast poutine. That egg is gold.

Came here a while back looking for something filling and manly to eat and wow. Their breakfast poutine was delicious. That egg was semi runny and the fries were really thick. You could taste the potato starchness in every bite. The cheese curds were chewy and they were warm! I know this seems trivial but I have been to poutine places that have cold cheese curds... Like.. Why? The ambience is very casual but not overwhelming. The din of other customers sort of envelops you in your own little bubble with your table. I really liked the hipster feel of this restaurant. I'll definitely come back more for more brunch things because I live for brunch.

Gord and I had brunch today at the Mugshot Tavern. Gord had the Trademen's Breakfast and swapped his toast for an English muffin. He said it was really good and he'd get it again. I ordered a burger (minus lettuce and onions). It was a good hearty burger. I was pleasantly surprised to discover two patties. They were juicy and seemed to be made in-house rather than frozen. The potato wedges were good too. I'd get this again.

Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon and while there were a few cozy booths available we were seated at a small 2 person table next to the kitchen... I get it but come on the place wasn't busy... Anyway had a couple of good beer options so that was ok and since brunch menu was in effect I went for the bacon cheddar burger with potato wedges... Damn! That was a delicious burger with the perfectly cooked bacon adding incredible flavour! Try the house made hot sauce (we actually bought a bottle) and you certainly won't be disappointed! Our sever was great, pleasant and knowledgeable. We'll definitely be back.

Hands down this is one bar that does food and sports right--it isn't just a bar with good beers and a great staff--food, sports, drinks are all done up right! It is pretty much a 'hipster' sports bar . The downside is the lack of heat during cold winter days... Boy oh boy it was cold and caused the food to cool down too quick (this is the reason for the 4/5 stars). The poutine here is one of the best in Toronto where cheese curds--real curds are used and it is melted under the gravy and fries--deelicious! There are variations such as the standard poutine, prime rib, and pulled pork! The size is fairly large and great to share. The deep fried pickle spears here are --overall myself and three friend came in for a snack/early dinner and left pretty happy with our 'snacks'... I've been here on numerous occasion and the fried chicken and burger is pretty good--you can't go wrong here

    Crispy chicken sandwich, soooooo good

Awesome local bar with fresh and great food. The crispy chicken sandwich was incredible and the portion is insane

    breakfast poutine!

Came in with the fam after a walk through high park, and was a great spot for pub to brunch food. I had the breakfast poutine, which was a lot bigger than excepted. It was pretty tasty especially with that egg on top. They had a variety of interesting dishes, so I'd definitely consider coming again to try them outAlthough, I had two family members order the classic burgers that ended up having really dry patties.

Mac and cheese fritters with special sauce (taste like ketchup, mayo and sriracha). Not hot enough and not gooey cheesey inside.
    Heather C.

Had to try this place because it's close and got highly reviewed. The place has definitely got great spirit. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a real community feel with their regulars. Food was underwhelming though. Had the Mac and cheese fritters by Yelp recommendation. They were not hot and fresh tasting and had the feel of frozen jalepeño poppers with Mac and cheese inside instead of gooey hot cheese.

Half of their many taps. Friendly and professional service.

Their drink menu is impressively broad, with a strong whisky selection from different regions, plus plenty of cocktails, spirits, and wine. I especially loved the Scotchman in Sidecar, which blends Té Bheag and Laphroaig with Cointreau and lemon. It had this really interesting balance of smoky peat and bright citrus. Naked and Famous was also great if you like something a little sharper and more refreshing, while the Mango Mojito leaned sweeter and easier to sip. The food was just as enjoyable. The Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas were probably my favorite part of the meal, with a chewy crust and really satisfying flavor. The Savory Peach from the summer specials was surprisingly good, especially with the spicy sauce on the side, and the Spicy Ropressata was another standout if you like something a little salty and bold. We also tried the Shepherd's Pie, which was warm, hearty, and comforting, and the oysters were fresh and good quality too. Overall, it feels like one of those cozy places that works equally well for drinks, a casual date night, or a laid-back evening with friends.

If you hear of any event at See-Scape do not hesitate to go! There's free parking on-site around the back (don't quote me on that) so TTC take the car, or whatever but get yourself down there and put in those ear plugs (available at the bar) and enjoy the show. The main floor has some funky video games in one part and a cool bar to drink at where you just can't be bored looking at the swag all around you and chatting with some cool characters that you won't find in the Financial District, that's for sure. Friendly bar staff will help you whet your whistle so no problem there and the beer isn't overpriced either. Upstairs is where the action is with a neat industrial looking stage that has the overhead grid system made of metal that give it a legit rock venue look, even though it's very small. The bar upstairs has canned beers only so no problem getting one of those and hanging out, with mostly standing room only with a couple tables for the boomers, this is one of the parts of Toronto that makes you feel like you're somewhere else, like Hamilton for example : )

It's a dimly lit, loud bar so I really don't see it being feasible to play these 4 hour high concentration games but whoever curated this collection has excellent taste.

I recently dropped by for first time during lunch hour, and similar to all restaurants in the area, it's wasn't busy during this time so there were plenty of seating and reservations were not required. However, evenings and weekends can be quite busy, but reservations can be made via OpenTable. I ordered the Burger of The mouth with a side of salad, while my friend ordered the Indie Fried Chicken Platter. I personally found the burger and salad to be quite delicious. The beef patty was juicy, with all sauces and ingredients complimenting each other nicely. My friend on the other hand, found the chicken a little dry, and the coleslaw warm, and soggy. The restaurant had a cozy laid back feel at this time, contrary to the loud and lively evenings. The hostess/server was attentive, friendly, and efficient. I love IPA's and Pilsner so I like ordering the Instigator & Marco Polo. Instigator, a West Coast IPA has a light honeyed sweetness with plenty of hoppy goodness. Quite malty but has well balanced and smooth tasting notes. The Marco Polo on the otherhand is a flavourful dry-hopped lager but super crisp and refreshing which is perfect for hot summer days. My SO who is into strong and dark ales swears how good their Zombie Apocalyse and Breakfast Porter. But the huge draw of me coming here is mainly how impressed I am of their food menu. They offer fresh and high quality dishes that doesn't taste like your clasic pub meals. I always order their Southern Fried Chicken since this is the best Southern Fried Chicken I've ever tried. The fried chicken is intensely flavourful and incredibly crunchy and pairs well with any of their beers. The Indie Burger is another one of my fave. This is your ultimate cheeseburger - two smashed beef patties that is juicy in every bite. Staff are also knowledgeable, friendly and will answer any questions you have about their beer offerings. Top notch chef, nice atmosphere and a wide range of pints to sample makes Indie Alehouse one of the city's top must visit locations for beer drinkers and foodies alike.
