Excellent Toronto punk bar that just couldn't exist downtown due to gentrification and I'm glad that it's here for them in the Junction, (ok well, Lola could be an exception), especially since some of my friends are punk rock musicians. If you hear of any event at See-Scape do not hesitate to go! There's free parking on-site around the back (don't quote me on that) so TTC take the car, or whatever but get yourself down there and put in those ear plugs (available at the bar) and enjoy the show. The main floor has some funky video games in one part and a cool bar to drink at where you just can't be bored looking at the swag all around you and chatting with some cool characters that you won't find in the Financial District, that's for sure. Friendly bar staff will help you whet your whistle so no problem there and the beer isn't overpriced either. Upstairs is where the action is with a neat industrial looking stage that has the overhead grid system made of metal that give it a legit rock venue look, even though it's very small. The bar upstairs has canned beers only so no problem getting one of those and hanging out, with mostly standing room only with a couple tables for the boomers, this is one of the parts of Toronto that makes you feel like you're somewhere else, like Hamilton for example : ) read more

I have never tried any food or drink so this review is solely on the ambiance. I went on Thursday right at 5pm when they opened because I felt nostalgic for guitar hero. I was helped by the employee but one of the guitars buttons was not working. (Which kinda dings their review for me). I was shocked by the quality of board games though! They had real gems like Arc Nova, Root and Twilight Imperium that brings in the real board game geeks but the space this is in doesn't make sense. It's a dimly lit, loud bar so I really don't see it being feasible to play these 4 hour high concentration games but whoever curated this collection has excellent taste. read more

Always a pleasure coming here! I came here for their Oni Girls event. It was a little hard to grab a server due to it being busy so someone watched our table and we stood at the bar. This happened last item also, where many of the items we wanted to order for food was sold out. Their they don't actually have it or it's actually sold out. One day I'll get the Flan Everyone here looked happy! Lots of great things to do ($5 cover if you play board games, video game booths, DJ, great food and even more amazing drink menus) Would be 5 stars but they didn't have any more penis shaped cups and served us the drink in a regular cup without telling us they had no more cups. Unique unique unique ! Let me be honest as soon as I saw the exterior, I was like "what the hell" in a disappointed way. Then I entered and said "what the hell" again, but amazed. This place has a good vibe. Lighting, ambience, people, customer service and food. Everything was good. Loved the small cubicles with the TV screen which you can play video games on. I ordered Beef Pho, Fried rice and Chowmein noodles. I loved all of the 3 dishes. Would definitely come back. My drive from Mississauga was worth it. You can play any board games for $5 per person and if you want to play video games it would cost $5 extra which is a total $10, which isn't bad at all. What an amazing place!!! I am always looking for fun niche bars or places in Toronto. This place is a great competitor to Storm Crow Manor in my humble opinion. (I think See scapes is more fun board games and video games.) They also have all the nerdy things and movie nights. I saw on their website about karaoke which If I were to go out for a night this is what I think is just good fun. Not for everyone I'm sure but it your open to new things I'd recommend. If you have a chance their butter beer is great. Their food is good too! Fast service but had to order from the bar to get service but maybe I was being impatient lol! I'm coming back! read more

I've been here for one of the Killer B Cinema nights. The atmosphere is a bit low energy and the place was pretty quiet. I like the vibe of the place, it's nerd haven with old video games and board games available. The food was pretty good bar snacks and the beer fresh. I didn't like how the cinema night organized themselves as there were just some scattered folding chairs and it was pretty uncomfortable. There wasn't even room for me to sit with my friends, we had to separate, which was not fun. I might come back to check out the patio before making a final decision on the place. This place is not the place to go for fun. I went here recently and it was an overall negative experience. No food, no mocktails, and a very limited amount of cocktails. We had a reservation and were expecting to be able to at least have something to eat, and I understand they were between kitchens, but some notice would have really been appreciated. Not only that, but all the responses given to all reviews are incredibly rude, unprofessional, and blame the person for having a bad time. I understand it's hard to run a small business, but maybe start by understanding what you did wrong and own up to it. I will not be going here again. read more

I remeber when I used to get beat up for being a nerd, well no longer... Now I can go and drink and play video and board games with all the ambiance of my friends basement (well maybe more Heavy Metal Magazines and a better stocked bar) I can see the concept , I really can and the staff were super nice. Thing is the food was kinda meh and they need more space! Its hard to play games with only two large tables and 5 novelty booths. In any case, the staff was good and the atmosphere was fun. If you live in the Junction or area, im sure it's better than trekking down to Snakes and Lattes. I'm up to go back just to try the video games. read more

Ok so - I'll be honest with you and the first time we came to this place it was so overrun by a gamer gathering that we immediately decided against it. We had seen enough of it though to know that it was cute and versatile to give it another chance on a rainy Saturday afternoon. First of all, the service was incredible. Even tho we were clearly of the non-gaming crowd, they made sure to welcome us and make us comfortable. Because we arrived during the tail end of an event, they offered us seats on the otherwise empty ROOFTOP PATIO. It is beautiful. Plants surround, umbrella protect, and trendy early 2000's music plays. WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE OUT THERE THE WHOLE NIGHT. Drinks were good, fast, plentiful and cheap. We played chess. We ate a full plate of nachos with all the fixin's for $10. We had a great time and at the end, decided that the only way to preserve this gem was to share it with other people. There's a great selection of board games and my favourite games on console like various mortal kombats, mario kart 64, super smash bros, several CODs, and guitar hero which is good for competitive gaming with a partner. There are also single player games should you choose to come alone. The alcohol menu is also fun. I ordered the elixir of immortality which was served in this really cool goblet with a skull on it. Fun & kitschy games café/bar with themed booths and tons of board games & video games to play! The sci-fi/fantasy themed drinks are goofy fun & the enclosed booths are nice because it keeps it somewhat intimate & quite so your group can concentrate on who's cheating in your game! The only detractor is the weirdly arrogant server that was, for the most part attentive, but became more disinterested and somewhat rude by the end. A friend of mine told me to check this place out and I'm so glad I did! As soon as I walked into the shop I was blown away by the decor and overall feel of the space. It was a lot more creative and arts-based than I had originally expected, which made it completely different from the atmosphere I was used to at other gaming cafes/bars like Snakes and Lattes. It's nice to see a shop doing something different and really letting their imagination run wild. The private booths are unlike anything I've ever seen in a cafe before! The menu was surprising because I expected typical "gamer food" like burgers, fries and Mountain Dew but there is actually a lot more options and even some healthier stuff too. Good drinks too... I ordered a "Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster" and a "Romulan Ale". Sci-fi drinks! Tons of video games and board games too, but I didn't play any this time. It was cool to sit at the bar and chat with the staff, they even taught me how to play Magic. I think I want to have my birthday party here next month! Amazing idea and great atmosphere. BE WARNED If you are going there to play videogames they are missing some crucial consoles and games. You wont be finding Wii/Wiiu/smash/mariokart/marioparty at this place. While I was there with my friends every employee kept talking up how their Xbox is modded and is stacked with a large library of games. Unfortunately every game we tried playing on the modded Xbox would crash halfway through playing. This place desperately needs consoles and games that focus on multiplayer. read more

I've been here multiple times, so I'm saying this as someone who's seen it at 5pm on wed and 11 pm on fri. It's very unprofessionally run, and the layout of the space itself does not encourage patronage. It's very dirty, the boxes of board games are not cleaned, and the whole place looks very run down. There's folding chairs and flimsy tables in the front portion of the bar. I was uncomfortable about putting my belongings down on any surfaces. I enjoy the aesthetic and as a huge nerd, I was excited about this place. The original decor is really well done but the added memorabilia really cheapens the place. There's mannequins wearing neon fetish gear (poorly done cyber punk?) that you can see as soon as you enter the ground floor bar. Hentai girls on the wrap around of the bar. It really clashes with the original decor and made the people I was with uncomfortable. The staff do not seem well trained, my partner and I walked through the bar 3 times looking for someone to serve us as no one was at the bar. We tried to pay for board game use, but there was no one there to take our money. We eventually had to go upstairs to get a drink. Unbeknownst to us, there was a private party happening, and we had to order our drinks there to get served. No staff directed us, patrons had to direct us for the board game location. While upstairs, I glimpsed a massive patio out back, which wasn't being used on a friday night, in the summer in Toronto. We eventually went downstairs, still no employees. We left with our drinks unfinished. We went to another bar to order food. This space and concept has so much potential, but it's being being wasted. I want so badly to like this space, as it's the 'original video game bar', but it's so poorly executed. I've had multiple mediocre experiences. It seems management doesn't care. Especially now that the both the neighborhood's bar culture and geeky bar subculture has drastically improved in the past 2 years, they really need to step up their game. read more

They have a full bar and kitchen, board games, video games, and a ton of nerdy events! Karaoke, LARPs, Magic TG tournaments, and bimonthly nerdy burlesque shows all in a female-owned, positive space. I went with my wife on Friday night and was very disappointed. When we arrived it was confusing where you need to go to pay to play the games. There was someone playing video games when we came in who directed us in the right direction. Although he yelled to the back from his seat in front of the video games. When someone finally came out they were upset and said to the person playing video games that they were doing the dishes. Very unprofessional attitude. We ordered nachos and charcuterie which were both not of very good quality. The nachos were soggy and had too much salsa. The charcuterie was trisket crackers and packages sandwich meat. The gaming was good, but the seating was terrible. We were given a controller with a short cord and my wife had to sit on a plastic folding chair. I would not return. read more

Event page on Facebook made it seem much better than it was. Much less space to play games than here was before the move. Food was still good, not as good as prior. They have themed booths but do not enforce game playing. A few friends an I went here on opening night and we're unable to play any games due to all tables being occupied by people drinking but not playing board games (are games not your main drag?) Bartenders were shit and were in the worst moods possible. The entire upstairs is a waste. Spent 15 minutes waiting at the bar as a staff member cleaned behind. Once I asked for a beverage he informed me he was not a bartender and that he bartender was actually playing in the band currently on Stage and I could not get a drink. Also they ran out of tap beer after an hour of being open..dudes it's your grand opening. Over staff. Get temp employees and buy excessive amounts of liquor. It's common sense. This place is pretty cool, especially the booth. Your group will have some privacy and each booth has a different decor theme. They have a selection of drinks and food. They have video games on top of board games. Comparing to major game cafes, like snake and lattes, this place is a lot smaller and less games to choose from. Love this place. Went for the first time last night & reserved a booth to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. Got a kick out of the drink names & had fun playing Ticket to Ride. The only thing stopping me from giving this a 5 star review was our server. She had attitude & was rude when we wanted to order drinks throughout the night. This place is cool. Weird booths (a HELLRAISER booth!!), one wall covered in awesome vintage 'heavy metal' magazines... Not perfect, the Nachos were a bit weak, but, y'know, whatever. Beer on tap. Modest cover charge to get in on the games. Giving One Star because I could not go to See-Scape and found no actual "closing early" notification before I got to the cafe and was told in person.
