An unquestionable classic dive. I love it here and it isn't just the memories of years and drunks passed. It's probably been close to a decade since I last hit the Done Right for a bit of day drinking but it's like I never left. I haven't been a smoker in over ten years but the second I walked in I wanted to fire up a dart. It felt like it hadn't been any longer ago than just yesterday since I sat down at the bar and ordered a double Jameson on the rocks when I did it today. If you want a real bar with a real bartender and a straight up good time then there is no better place in Toronto. Day drinking recommended.

I was in town for the night solo traveling and the bartender,Steve, set me up with amazing drinks and great recommendations for the area! Super cool dude and definitely one of the people that made my night in Toronto one to remember! Absolutely immaculate vibes and super nice people! Would def recommend stopping by for a great beer and great conversation!

    Love this back patio

My friends had a great time closing out this bar on a Friday night. Nothing gets better than this beautiful back patio, which a tree canopy and strings of lights. The seating is comfortable and great for a big group or a more intimate gathering. Lots of decent-to-good beers to choose from by the pitcher. Had to dock a star because the bathrooms smelled like piss. I can deal with a lot of grungy bathrooms, but this one was pretty bad.

Now, I ask you, how can you not love a bar that actually accepts Canadian Tire money? How can you not love a bar whose staff actually got pissed off when the place received a great review in trendy Toronto Life magazine because they were afraid the place would lose its local cred? Once described by NOW as "so laid back, it's almost prone," the Done Right is a haven for the Queen West arts community, where lucky writers like myself have enjoyed sharing cold pints with other writers, artists, actors, musicians, and other assorted happy riffraff. When their resident spinner, DJ Spite, is up, you can be assured of a colourful tapestry of tunage to go with your brews. And they're even cool with you bringing in your own food, since they don't serve any. The back patio is awesome with its high booths and the tree that yawns upward from its centre. The bartenders are all sassy and clever, each a unique personality bringing different energy and vibe with them. Their on-tap choices may be small, but its well selected, and plenty of other options stand cold in the coolers. This is a Queen West person's Queen West bar. Beware of imitations.

If it's warm enough to sit outside but you don't have many dollars in your pockets, do right by yourself and come to The Done Right Inn. Some of the clientele is questionable, but I'd take colourful characters over $15 cocktails any day. The back patio has giant wood booths, big shading trees and twinkle lights. I don't think they serve *real* food, but even if they did the gruff interior of this joint would likely prevent me from ordering it. $5.50 for Bulliet and $5 beers will keep myself and my friends coming back. PEPPER POINTS for their sensible math. A double isn't fully double the price. Buying in bulk at a bar. Makes sense to me. PEPPER'S PISSED at herself. The cheap Bulliet here let me down a path of self destruction... to 7 11. Where I bought two taquitos. Whyyy.

This was my favorite bar in Toronto. They accept Canadian Tire money. I got a pretty good lesson on Canadian Tire money because of this. I also learned that bars need to pay over $3 for a trash bag and how recycling is mandatory in Canada. I wish America would adopt some of these policies. The Done Right Inn is a very mellow place and all of the people I met there were friendly. The back patio is very relaxing.

You can stare at the fridge-top for hours - lotsa fun details

Quirky is right! But then again you should question how you fit in the crowd, and chances are that if you are there then you fit there as well. It's a proper divebar with colorful clientele, bunch of geezers sitting around creating atmosphere, friendly staff and a simple selection of alco. Sit down, relax, unwind, and enjoy your drink!

Terrible place. The washrooms are disgusting and the male bartenders are the worst they cause drama over tips. They really are awful.

This man is a treasure--a multitalented musician who plays in many bands including The Lemon Bucket Orkestra. In season, you can catch Michael playing trumpet and singing with a jazz band on the back patio on Saturday evenings (5-8pm). The patio, accessible via an alleyway off Rolyat Street, feels like one of this neighbourhood's best kept secrets. Such a fun, chill vibe back there. Perhaps these Saturday shows will eventually move back inside, where they were held in the beforetimes, when the band sat cheek by jowl with customers in one of the city's most "intimate" performance venues. But whether Michael is performing behind the bar or on the back patio, the man is a marvel of multitasking. He'll perform part of a tune, set the trumpet down as the band plays on, take people's orders, prepare and serve drinks, and then pick up the trumpet and continue the song. So freaking cool. He also hosts a unique music listening event on Monday nights called Decide on the B-Side...don't forget to bring your favourite vinyl. As for the drinks, nothing fancy here, just a decent beer list and hard booze, mostly. But as described above, this bar is so much more. It's chock full of fun and character.

This was such a good find on a Friday night!…read more The pizza is sooo good; it's almost as delicious as Badiali's. The tomato sauce, the crisp crust-- yum! I just wish they had a Hawaiian option, a marinara dipping sauce, and a mushroom pizza that didn't have truffle oil; then it would be even better. The beer menu was a bit hard to read, and it was too loud to talk to the bartenders, but I'd try again next time. Meanwhile, there are arcade games, and many of them are free--! How cool is that? Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and even-- perhaps my new favourite-- Toobin', which is two dudes going down a river in floaties and getting eaten by crocodiles. Such wholesome fun for cheap!

"Half & Half" pie review only: 'North Of Brooklyn Pizza'…read moreused to helm the rear of this great venue (maybe about a year or so ago). NOB left and the pizzeria at the back is now part of Get Well Bar's food menu. Although their website doesnt detail this, they offer 18" pies after 5pm everyday, and seemingly use a sourdough dough. A "Cheese" pie is $27 (tomato sauce + shredded mozz; same price as NOB's NY Cheese & Margherita pies). There is "Pepperoni" (Ezzo branded; $30), "Mushroom" (garlic oil base, shredded mozz, Portobello and Cremini mushrooms, goat cheese, balsamic glaze, and arugula; $32), "Vegan Deluxe" (tomato sauce, vegan mozz, artichoke, mushroom blend, black olives, red onions; $32), and "Al Pastor" (tomato sauce, shredded mozz, marinated pork shoulder, pickled jalapenos, brined red onions, pineapple salsa ; $32). In comparison, NOB's most expensive pies are $30). They have a "Half & Half" pie ($34) which is a pie divided in half with 2 different flavours each side, which is what was ordered. Asked "well done." The "Cheese" was underwhelming except for the dough, which was phenomenally pillowy and soft (not in an under-done sense, just almost like a croissant), but the pie overall could definitely have been more "well-done." We might have gotten lucky in using the least stale dough they had, but certainly the dough was impressive, but lacked any char, smokiness, or notable crispness (except along outer inch). The "Mushroom" side was superb, and it was a pity it was called just "Mushroom" as it was much more than a Funghi pie. A diversity of flavours accompanied each bite (slight tartness and creaminess from goat cheese, strong herbal notes from arugula, earthiness of mushrooms, sweetness from balsamic glaze...). It might not appeal to everyone, but it was a great balance to enjoy it alongside the more basic "Cheese" pizza side. Overall, not as good as its former tenant, but the "Half & Half" pie is a great pie worth trying and an impressive pizza for a fantastic bar.

And so were all the pizzas. I can't comment much on the pizzas because I was heavily focused on their homemade pasta. Everyone enjoyed the pizzas though.
