    Creme brulee french toast
    Christine L.

Relative was living here so the cousins met up to have breakfast before we all had to scatter for wedding prep. I had the Park breakfast which was fabulous and perfect but the crown jewel is the creme brulee french toast! Wow what a surprise dish of seeing a giant thick toast and thinking nothing of it until you puncture it and creme brulee custard oozes out! Made perfectly where the exterior was beautiful and crunchy with the caramelized sugar and berries scattered around. The kids got a kick off the powdered sugar instrument sprinkling the white stuff on the toast. It was a fun surprise and made our breakfast memorable. Service was wonderful and impeccable.

Amazing food, ambience and service. Love the dim lights and relaxing live music. We sat by the fireplace that gave an amazing view of the whole room. The vibes are really cozy. Combine that with the amazing food we had as part of the Chef's tasting menu, and you have got yourself an addictive combination.

The beautifully renovated Park Hyatt. Came here for a site visit for an upcoming work event. The main lobby does not seem like a typical hotel lobby. It feels more like a luxury condo. The reception area is to your right and to your left is Joni restaurant. I loved the open concept feel and the aesthetics of the restaurant. Service is impeccable and fast. I was immediately greeted and shown a table. I ordered the Park Breakfast without the egg(substituted with sliced avocado). It was a substantial meal. Came with toasted, fruits, bacon, sausage, hash potatoes and sliced tomatoes. Simple, and delicious. It was a wonderful breakfast in a beautiful lobby. Looking forward to our event in June!

We had afternoon tea here last weekend and had a lot of fun. We always enjoy afternoon tea and the friendly and super helpful staff made it very enjoyable. We loved all the savory items and ate everything. The sweet side was a bit repetitive in flavors and we found that we could not finish everything but thoroughly enjoyed the tea that we selected. The Darjeeling and Creamy oolong were wonderful.

I ate five meals here over the course of three days. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. All were great. The staff and the service are very good, and the food is incredible. The standout for sure is the brunch. Dinner is on the pricey end but it is all delicious. One small critique is that I felt it always took a long time to receive the food. But that means more time for meaningful conversations.

We came here to celebrate a special occasion. The overall experience was good despite the speed of serving the dishes was quite slow and service was not so good. The food quality was a solid 4-star. We ordered the salad, and the crudo for appetizers. The salad was not bad with walnut and blue cheese as the highlight. The crudo was not very fresh though. I didn't like that dish. For main, we ordered the cod and the steak. It took us a long time to wait for the main to be served. According to the server, the cod was a new item they only added to the menu recently. It turned out to be our favourite dish here! It was so fresh, cooked so perfectly and flavour was light. The beans in the dish were also soft. This cod is one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. The steak was nothing special. They didn't use a good cut. The onion rings were also flavourless and not crispy enough. After the main, it again took us a long time to wait for a server to order the dessert. We tried the mandarin flavour dessert. It was so refreshing and the destructured cream and white chocolate was not very sweet (I like it). It also came with a refreshing sorbet. Very creative dish! We enjoyed it very much. Overall, I would recmommend the food here, but allow more than two hours if you have a show to catch up afterwards. The food was also a bit expensive here ($80-100 per person).

My girlfriend and I enjoyed Winterlicious lunch ($55++/person). The food was exquisite! We both thoroughly enjoyed every dish and left us wanting more! When it comes to Winterlicious I find that some restaurants don't put as much effort into their food or they only offer the cheaper menu items. This was not the case at Joni. The mushroom soup was velvety smooth with laces of black garlic or balsamic!? The black cod had bursts of citrus and creaminess from the mussel sauce. My dessert "honey" was also delicious without being too sweet. Sadly the service did not meet our expectations for a 5 star hotel. The service did not do the dishes justice! Each dish was simply dropped off with only the name eg black cod" without describing the ingredients or complexity of the dishes. Hence why I can't really share the details of our meal. Other than the friendly hostess, the rest of the staff lacked finesse and passion. Felt like they were just there to collect a paycheque from their unionized job. I waited so long for my water glass to be topped up that I decided to go do it myself and no one even noticed. I will definitely be back to try more dishes and I hope that the service will improve next time. *Valet parking: $35 for 2 hours, $5 for each subsequent hour (not validated for dining). Definitely a splurge, but the food was good. Honestly, the atmosphere was the best part. Super cute and live music! Loved having brunch there with my family

I had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt over the New Year's Eve holiday. so we were at Joni for cocktails and also for breakfast in the morning. the cocktails were great. The service was absolutely fantastic both in the evening and in the morning. for cocktail hour, I would say the bartender took exceptional care making and recommending cocktails and there's a great curated cocktail list. Breakfast the next morning was great and we had the breakfast sandwiches which are enormous. We had considered getting crispy potatoes or something to come with. I'm glad we didn't because it was hard enough just to finish the breakfast sandwiches which come with a side salad. I also say that again the service was really wonderful, our server made sure to try to get our orders in ahead of a couple of large groups that had just come in so very attentive and thinking about all the details.

Part of a longer review... "Executive chef Antonio Soriano eloquently combined global and local on the menu, drawing inspiration from his esteemed culinary career at several of the world's finest Michelin Star establishments. His menu featured recognizable fare, such as angus ribeye, with an elevated twist. Par exemple, the tender bone in meat sat in a shallow pool of black truffle jus with a silky smooth pomme puree. As for beverages, there were a handful of reinterpreted classic cocktails and a thoughtfully curated selection of wine to complement the menu. Our table ordered a delightful 2015 vintage Bordeaux blend from Chateau Morrilon. My guests and I commenced with three appetizers pour partager. Both the poached lobster ($32) as well as the grilled maitake mushroom ($17) came highly recommended by our hospitable server. Poached in beeswax, the pink-fleshed lobster glistened on the plate. Accented with carrot, marigold and goldenberry, it was an artistic masterpiece and perfectly executed. I had high hopes for the maitake mushroom with Vidalia onion and fermented spruce honey. I wanted this dish to celebrate the maitake's umami flavour, earthy aroma and meaty texture, however, other components of the dish outshined the supposed star of the plate..."

Order an entire menu? Yes I did! :D While staying at Park Hyatt Toronto, this was a can't miss. Such a stunning, delicate, gorgeous, stunning spot. It is so beautiful. So is their food. Every place is so meticulously pretty, reminds me of Park Hyatt Tokyo: where everything was a work of art. Naturally, I ordered everything on the menu for breakfast. Yes, every single thing :D Sorry, not sorry! Good food is good mood and breakfast is important! I've had 4-5 of their lattes. Matcha was a bit overwhelming and bitter. The other lattes, cappuccinos were better. Smoke salmon was gorgeous! Yes, so beautiful. Avocado toast with beautiful poached eggs, blue berry pancakes, croque madame! To name a few. And a few side orders of avocado slices ($7 each) and smoke salmon later.. I tasted everything! Didn't finish but tasted it all and off to my high tea! Atmosphere is perfectly aesthetic, neat, stunning, dark. Service is decent ( understaffed). Food was stunning and tasty. It is pretty pricey especially for Toronto. Worth a splurge!

Came here for a birthday celebration the first week of tiff 2022 and surprisingly was very quiet that evening. Service was top notch. Comfortable seating as well. Tried the tasting menu for 120 pp and it was delicious. Recently had don alfonso that wAs 200 pp and this one tasted way better for a much cheaper price. Also at the very end they gave us some bread made in house as a takeaway which was so sweet! Highly recommend!

My Girlfriend and I came here for Valentines day, the ambiance and overall interior design of the restaurant/new park hyatt lobby was very nice! The service was OK - they didn't seem to be very used to having a fully booked evening. We got our appetizers before we were served our first drinks. The food was honestly pretty underwhelming. I'd like to come back and try their regular menu instead of the pre-set one. We did go up to the Writers room after which was a far better experience and honestly their food looked better as well.
