Ambiance 5/5 - divey, fun, charming. I liked the woodsy and dark interior, the graffiti covered walls with beer labels. There is an outdoor patio to enjoy during warm weather, which I will be sure to check out again this summer. Village of Williamsville favorite and I'm glad I finally tried it. Food 4/5- it's not a place that you come for dinner. But if you'd like to have a side with your beer or cider, there are a few selections. I ordered from the daily special menu a grilled cheese sandwich with buffalo chicken inside with chips $5.00 not bad. You really come here for the alcoholic drink so keep that in mind. Got here late on a Friday night. Was hungry for some food. Wings in particular. They were the only ones open up late, near the airport, that could satisfy my taste. Unfortunately a few minutes after I landed, they closed the kitchen. I think it was about 1030 which sucked. So instead we snagged a drink. We had a gin and sprite, a wayward lane fine print ale, and an IPA which was okay. I forgot the name of it. Small place to sit inside. Maybe good for 30 people. Decent amount outside maybe 20. So it's not a huge plane but the noise coming from it was loud and so it had pretty decent energy. There was also an intense game of cornhole happening as well. read more

I've tried coming here multiple times and people were always waiting outside the door to get in. That's a good sign! Well I finally got to try this place for myself. It looks small from the outside and the interior matches. Very divey. Beer can labels cover the walls. Everything is made of wood. No frills. The glory lies with the staff, beer and food. Bartender was kind, attentive and fast. Beer menu is top notch. And pours are perfect. Food comes out fast and fresh. Not my absolute favorite wings in the world. I would've liked them cooked a little longer. But the medium sauce was flavorful. Wings are VERY large and meaty. Fries were great. MoorPat is such a cozy spot. It reminds me of the pubs of old. They have so many beers on tap there's bound to be something for everyone. The bar tenders are super friendly and seem to really be able to pay attention to the crowd so if you do have to wait, it's never for long. read more

I don't go to bars very often, and I really don't have much experience with local brews. Aside from this, Moor Pat would probably be my favorite beer spot in the area. It's a cozy place with a dose of nostalgia for me personally. I remember eating my favorite sweet cream ice cream there before Jenny's moved out. The house where Moor Pat found its home was built in 1836 and is a really cool, good vibe spot to hang out or catch up with friends. The place was practically empty on a Saturday early afternoon. The bartender wasn't overly friendly, which was just right in my opinion. Our selection of drinks and snacks made our stay enjoyable and the music playing helped to have a good time. Downeast Cider Original tasted like cider. It was a refreshing and crisp drink, very tasty. The Cubano Rolls were good but you have to like pickles. I love pickles and The Barrel + Brine knows how to make them. The Breadhive is a great local bakery. Their whole wheat pretzel was solid and dense. Unfortunately, it was served with plain yellow mustard (not my favorite) instead of the beer cheese dip that's on the menu. The only real downer this time was the bathroom, which looked like it was out of anyone's attention. I understand that maybe the nature of the place does not allow for major changes, and there must be only one washroom available (bummer). Williamsville is a charming little burb of Buffalo...on the side street sits Moor Pat. It's got a nice divey feel to it (complete with plenty of graffiti in the bathroom...some really funny stuff too). Great beer selection (mostly in goblets...which I generally sneer at since it's an excuse to charge for less quantity). If you have no tolerance for beer snobs and the micro brew age...they do have microswill (Utica Club) in cans. The apps are kind of the sleeper here too...good wings and the fried pickles are excellent. Very good staff...eclectic mix of old farts and youngin's. In the hipster heart of charming Williamsville, lies our next establishment, The Moor Pat. If you're like me and have been here numerous times yet somehow never ordered the chicken wings, you'd be easily forgiven. It is primarily known for its beer selection. After all, you can't spell Tap Room without MOOR PAT. But today, in addition to drinking their REEB, we decided to also sample their DOOF, specifically their SMURD and STALF. Location: 4 / 5 Surrounded by cool buildings and businesses, this place is an absolute vibe. Imagine your most Irish friend built his own bar, served his own beer and made the occasional chicken wing in the storage closet. While they get a perfect score for 'charm', they lose a point because the parking situation was brutal and your Irish friend invited other friends to his basement and let them smoke weed. Presentation: 4.5 / 5 Flavors were individually plated, had a good mix of flats and drums with celery and carrots and the bleu cheese even had a little flare to it. While we tend to prefer presentation on plates or trays, this is about as nicely as you can do a plastic basket. And to the bartender who served us with sanitary gloves on, the act of cleanliness is appreciated and was reflected in your score, if not your tip. Meat: 4.5 / 5 Tight. Consistent, goldilocks sizing. Cook: 8 / 10 Some real debate over this score. While each Wing King valued the crispy style, one even calling this a "perfect" cook, some felt they were a smidge overdone to the point of dryness. That said, we were all impressed at the overall quality of the cook, given that they appeared to be prepared in a dark room / broom closet. Standard Wing: 13.5 / 15 Great balance. Good flavor without being too saucy and a nice crisp without any hints of burnt. We also detected pepper flakes in the sauce which was a nice touch. They're playing with the big boys in this most important category. Specialty Wing: 7.5 / 10 Most of this score is attributed to their BBQ flavor which were by far their strongest alternative offering; great sweetness and tanginess without that ketchupy taste found in far too many BBQ sauces around town. I had a deeply disappointing and frankly unacceptable experience at Moor Pat on July 3, 2025. The night began with unclear and inconsistently enforced rules from the bouncer about where patrons could stand with drinks outside. While my group and I were simply trying to stay out of the way near the entrance, the bouncer--after letting us remain in one spot for 10-15 minutes--suddenly escalated. He got directly in my face (I was not drinking) and screamed: "If you don't fing move behind the fing line in 15 seconds, I'll take your fing beers and dump them all and you'll be fing banned." It was threatening, inappropriate, and targeted, especially considering I was the only sober person in the group. When I attempted to speak to a manager inside, a friend relayed the message to the staff because of how crowded it was. One bartender at least acknowledged the issue, but the other (mustache, brown shirt)--who had already been dismissive earlier--said, "We're closing in 5 minutes, so this and you don't really matter." And when asked to clarify: "This doesn't matter. F*** off." Earlier in the night, this same bartender had also refused to help when we discovered most of the menu was unavailable. When we asked for suggestions, he literally shrugged and said, "I don't know what to tell you." To make it worse, we later saw the same bouncer allowing other patrons to stand wherever they wanted, and even telling one guest that under different timing he would've allowed him to leave with a drink. The inconsistency in rule enforcement and the complete lack of professionalism made the entire experience feel targeted and arbitrary. We will not be returning to Moor Pat or supporting any other establishments run by the same ownership. There are too many bars in Buffalo where patrons are treated with basic respect. This is a place that I used to love coming to. Over time I keep finding more and more flaws. The bouncer (older guy) is inconsistent. Some days he is kind, others he is not. Some days he checks my ID, others he does not. He bases his ability to do his job based on his mood apperantly. It is unprofessional and off putting. Right of the bat. The bouncers are extremely unprofessional and clearly untrained. They serve people they are familiar with first as opposed to making rounds to people who have been waiting for longer. They get mad if you order something and they have a question. The short guy with a mustache is particularly rude to women. He was nice to the male customers next to me, but not to me and my party (female). Mind you his adult job is just bartending. Interesting choice to be condescending, when you should be focusing on your life goals and plan. The bar has so much potential and room to grow, the only real ish seems to be the service and staff. Everytime I come here there is at least one issue with the staff who are too busy seeing friends than working. Clearly, I assume the owners and managers lack the ability to train their staff. It is quite pathetic to be a bar in Williamsville with untrained staff. read more

I was a little concerned when we first got there because the security guarding the place and making sure everyone is using their mask appropriately was a little intimidating but once we got in, the bartender was very nice and welcoming. He knew his beers and could tell me everything about each one that I asked about just off the top of his head. I went with his recommendations and may have found a new favorite sour beer! The inside is very small. Two tables and a bar, and a hightop seating area across from the bar. Thankfully they have a beautiful (but still small) outdoor patio. We were never forgotten outside and they kept our glasses filled the moment they were empty! The food options are limited and kinda pricey but they have good wing sauce options and the wings are large and saucey! We got a small order of truffle fries which was actually a hefty portion with great flavor, but they were overcooked a bit. Which is fine because we were full from the wings. I stopped in on July 21st around 7:48pm to meet a group of friends for some after dinner drinks. There was 5 of us, all of which took turns buying a round of drinks for the group. I decided to pick up the last round before calling it a night and order (4) #1 Allagash White's and asked for a water with lemon for myself. Seeing as how Moor Pat is located directly off Main St. and in the heart of Amherst, I figured it would be a good idea to probably sober up before riding back home, especially driving through Amherst knowing how brutal the cops can be. Before I could finish asking the bartender for a glass of ice water with my order, the other staff member, or possibly the manager from the other side of the bar said, "for what? ...We have plastic cups and water by the door." To which I responded, "Considering this is my 5th drink of the night, I figured I would drink responsibly, and seeing as how we've already spent a decent amount of money in your establishment, I'd like to enjoy an ice cold glass of water with some dignity, instead of getting up every three sips to refill a plastic cup. To the manager / bartender who gave me the half-ass excuse that you were "low on glasses", consider your clientele before treating them the same way you would a bunch of drunken college kids who don't even have the decency to leave you a tip after you serve them. It's amazing how quickly those cups got clean each time we came back to order another round of suds, but suddenly it was an issue when asking for a simple glass of ice water. Can't see myself coming back to this place unless someone else is picking up the tab. Yup a freaking deep fried, crispy skinned Cornish hen served with 3 sauces. OMG so good! I love the barbaric, messy, rip it apart way of eating! I haven't been able to come here as often as I'd like. This place has a really cool feel to it, like hipster-y but it's not in your face about it. Like the basement of a cabin. I enjoy the fact that it's very small, a little intimate but you're entirely free to enjoy time alone with a couple of friends. They've got a patio aside the building that's open during the summer months too, which is always a plus. Looks like they've got a lot of variety; lot of different beers on tap, plus whatever they've got stored on the shelves behind the bar. The bartender was very nice, and seemed perfectly capable of handling the busy crowd he had when we visited. Everybody seemed to know one another here, which was also pretty nice. I like that community feel. The kitchen is super small, but I've got to say the food is pretty delicious. I was recently able to try some food off of their menu (something I've been dying to do since I first visited!) and I was pretty happy with the result. Only ordered a basket of fries but my friends and I devoured them pretty quickly. Wait time was seriously only about 5 or 6 minutes. Can't wait to visit again! read more

Nice small neighborhood indy/gastro bar. Have been before for lunch, maybe 6 months ago and their wings and truffle fries were outstanding at that time. Tonight, as husband and I attempted to grab a seat at the bar (while perusing the handwritten beer menu on the wall), bartender aggressively comes at us with "what don't you like?"...um...maybe let us read what you are offering. I'll admit this was early on a Thursday (and they were starting to get busy), but the presumption that we weren't knowledgeable about beer (and then soundly dismissed once husband ordered a Ryan Miller IPA)...f'that. We are a hockey family, (who's in the brewery business btw), who was drinking at Allagash in Portland just this last summer (and Pliney the Younger in Cali the spring before that). Everyone that I've encountered that works there is very friendly and easy on the eyes, or maybe that was just the alcohol talking! They do make very good drinks and they have a very decent wine selection! P.S. Bring your own sticky notepad to use in the bathroom, I had to use like 20 sheets to get them to finally stick to the wall, but still is a cute way to say you were there! Came here for a drink the first day they opened post quarantine. They had masks available for anyone that didn't have one and had everyone well spread out. The owner helped us choose our beers (they have a great selection) and I really enjoyed what he chose for me. Stopped in with a couple friends after a meeting at the Town Hall, just across the street. The place is charmingly old world, dark and warm. The beer selection is excellent, lots of taps and some cans--heavy on the IPAs, redeemed by a yummy Samual Smith Winter Ale. There was a good crowd --most barstools were occupied. The bartender was excellent, though alone he had his hands full. It was a bit of a wait to get our second round ordered. Beer prices are on the expensive side, though not surprising, considering the neighborhood. I would definitely like to see some vegan options on the small board of fancy pub foods. The pretzel may have been vegan, but I didn't ask. I was happy this time with just the liquid offerings. read more

We call this our local bar even though we live in Snyder and not Williamsville. They always have a great selection of craft beers.... ones you can challenge your palette with or great "go-tos" like Allagash White. They have an awesome selection of local and national brews (with some international breweries occasionally), plus a wide variety of styles. We've been supporting them by picking up crowlers every week of the quarantine. Their food is also incredible, especially during these tough times--the fries are the best in Buffalo (get the truffle and parm) and the wings compete with the other big Buffalo joints. Seriously!
