We had such an amazing experience here! We went on a Sunday and the parking lot looked completely packed -- we almost second-guessed going in. I'm so glad we didn't! There were still tables available inside, so don't let a full parking lot scare you away. Do not skip the fried green tomato appetizer- to die for! I ordered the Sunday prime rib special with a loaded baked potato and asparagus, and it was absolutely to die for. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and such a great portion. My husband had the chicken risotto and loved every bite. We heard regulars talking about how amazing the desserts are. We were too full this time but next time I'm excited to try the bread pudding! Our first visit! We live two minutes away so we figured it was time to check it out. A friend just finished telling us about the steamed shrimp on the menu. They said they are great and you get a ton... so of course I wanted to try them. We did the half pound and got about 13 fairly large shrimp. We went for the "with seasoning" option. They were delicious! We will definitely get the full pound option next time! For dinner, Andy got the roast beef (his go to everywhere we go!) he said it was delicious. He'd definitely get it again. And he raved about the roll that definitely was a beautiful kimmelweck that looked to probably be made in house. He got cucumber salad as his side. Said it was good, but to me the cucumbers looked soggy and the liquid in the bowl was almost to the top. They were swimming. I got the Philly cheesesteak with fries. It was delicious. The location is neat clean and newly renovated. Our server was very conscientious and quick with requests. I had the Cajun shrimp app and it had great flavor. I was a little surprised that the shrimp were split but not peeled but it was still very good. Our sandwiches were on the sourdough bread which I recommend! We had a great lunch! read more

Ambiance was cool, it definitely seems like a constantly busy place. I don't know the history of this restaurant, but it has a bunch of veteran decorations which is nice. Their food quality was amazing, absolutely delicious and full of flavor!! The only reason we gave it four stars was because our food took forever. They either accidentally forgot about us or lost the ticket? The manager noticed and tried to remedy the situation so that was good customer service on her part. Other tables got their food pretty quickly so it just seemed to be a fluke and I wouldn't hold that against them. Mistakes happen. Overall, would eat here again and recommend it! read more

We went to the restaurant for an early dinner today. It's a very nice clean restaurant. We sat outside on the patio and It was a very nice evening. I don't know how the other people in the reviews got such a good prime rib. I ordered it because it was the special. It was pretty tough and didn't have any flavor. It came with a lukewarm baked potato and raw asparagus. I never heard of serving raw asparagus with a dinner. I actually liked them because they weren't stringy, they were crispy. The dinner was $32, which is a fine price, But a little salad ans some bread would have been nice. My partner had a a grilled chicken sandwich with french fries. He said it was nothing special, not much flavor. The service was not great, we never ordered another drink because the waitress didn't come back until we were ready to leave. I think when you decide to eat on the patio, they forget to come outside and check on you. Iwill definitely give it another chance because I liked the restaurant. read more

This was our first time here. The place is nicely decorated and clean. our server was pleasant and prompt. I chose the steak and cheese sandwich which came with fries, while my wife opted for the grilled sirloin steak and gorgonzola salad. My sandwich was very good, and the roll was fresh. I asked our server if the fries were fresh cut or frozen, and she said frozen. I have to say for frozen fries, they were very much like fresh cut. Served with crispy fries, this meal was cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious. The owner visits his customers, checking that everything is alright, treating customers as if they were his family. The establishment is quite charming. Recently remodeled, it does have the original bar. Old time NT memorabilia can be found within. Plenty of parking, too. Ironton absolutely blew me away. I swear, everything I ordered was the BEST I've ever had and 100% home-aid. We started with the shrimp and grits entrée as our "appetizer" yes, entrée as an appetizer, best decision ever and it was unreal... homemade, so flavorful, honestly perfect. Portions are huge. We also had the steak, Caesar salad, onion rings, and the carrot cake... Insanely good, every single bite topped the last. It all tasted like someone's grandma was in the back cooking with love. The whole place has this cozy, warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel comfortable the second you walk in. It's intimate without feeling cramped, with a relaxed energy that still feels upscale.
